I’m not much of a shawl knitter, but that sweater 🥰 it would be ideal for my husband. So I’ll wait for the testknit call for that one. I have some beautiful navy blue Nutiden waiting in stash for a man’s sweater… ❤

I am a decades long knitter and remember when sturdy wools were slowly replaced by 100% merino wools. We all admit that the act of knitting is stress relieving, even if the techniques are challenging. Small hand repetition releases serotonin. We are comforted. Softness is comforting, and what can ever be softer in our world than two strands of silk alpaca held together? Three strands, I guess. The visual halo of these garments is also magical, and soothing for our family and friends to see us so enveloped.

I’m looking forward to the release of your shawl pattern. I want to be able to use any yarn weight that I enjoy. Can’t wait to knit it even though it’s finally warm (29 C) here in Ontario.

My "charity" work is that I just returned early this morning from volunteering in Ukraine, in some of the small villages. This is my second time going this year, and I am hoping to return toward the end of the year also, if I can get the funds raised. I was knitting on a small cowl, with impromptu gansey type motifs so I would have something easy for the times we were traveling from one placed to another. For that, i'm using Onion fingering yarn. The wool and nettles make a cooler, drapier yarn. Now that I'm home, I'm working on a cotton-linen tee and a garter shawl of my own design. I am happy to catch up with this episode, and look forward to your next one! Thank you for the wonderful content!!

So unfortunately the yarn turned out to be mostly acrylic though I know there is a little will as it prickles on my face - fortunately it will be great for scarves or cowls as I know I'll be able to wear it next to my skin. Yay!

The unnamed sweater is amazing, I'm in for a spot in the testknit ;) It immediatly came to my mind Pathways, because the lines come from the neck (center) and you can choose one or more to follow with your eyes :) try the name in Irish.

You're so right about Summer knitting lol! I don't like to knit for summer during Fall or Winter but then it takes me a while to decide myself and now I've picked a pattern but it's already June 19th 🥲

The unnamed sweater looks wonderful, and I'd love to knit it when you decide to release it :D i usually feel that with most raglan sweaters out there is too narrow of a chest area visually and it sort of pulls the shoulders in and narrows the flat upper chest part? I think the increases are not apart wide enough across the shoulders. Yours doesn't seem to do that and I appreciate the details in the lines as well!

Working on a cardigan testknit and two summer knits - a Tolsta tank and a magpie tendency. Luckily (unluckily?) for me our summer knits season where I live is loooooong. When Canadian and European podcasters starts talking about fall coming at the first of September and it’s still 100 degrees Fahrenheit I’m not ready for heavy wools yet. I look forward to your unnamed sweater, I’m going to watch for that test call ;) .

Jonathan I love all your podcasts and the things you knit. You mention a yarn shop in London - a place that is quite inaccessible on a day to day basis from where I live in Devon but I’m sure they have mail order. I’m looking to buy some Knitting for Olive yarn and I know you use this sometimes. Would you let me know the name of the shop please? Thank you. Keep up the good work and posting the podcasts, they really do inspire me.

The charity knitting that I've seen around in my area (mostly hats or smaller items) is usually required to be machine washable. It sounds like the yarn you're using for your blanket wouldn't be machine washable. Is that a concern at all?
