Love this video🥰. Love the knits, your reviews and your nice personality adds so much to your vlog! Love your message about finding what makes you happy and choosing knits that you really love. Also, your volunteering to help with homelessness💙 is so wonderful!! I want to check here in my province in Canada, if we have something like that...or maybe I need start something to help the homeless with hand knit items. It is extremely cold here in Saskatchewan, and to see those that struggle with addiction, mental health, and in turn, homelessness is absolutely heart wrenching!! Thanks for your inspiration & your work.
PS: you remind me of my brother (when he was your age), who sadly died in Sept 2023, at the age of 65 yrs old. We were so close, too, and I miss him soooo much! It brings me a special kind of joy watching and listening to you.
    Keep up the great work!
    Thank you, Karen!

I knit for the family shelter where I live. It helps them a lot and it's fun to knit all the little kid patterns. I'm often encouraging others to reach out to their local shelters to find out what they need.

love the ranking aspect of this video, it's a great addition to the general "what i made in the year" thing. my goals are kinda similar to yours! using scraps, finishing the pile of WIPs that I have and finding a knit night local to me!

Loved the video and how you ranked your knits. I am hypercritical of my knits and that causes frustrations for me. You were so positive about your knits and I love that🥰.
I have been knitting for about 25 years now and I have so many WIPS and kits that I have accumulated over the years so I am doing a #WIPSandKits knit down this year. If you like to join me hashtag your finished WIPS and/or Kits. Thank you for your awesome videos-always watch you and Needles at the ready right when you post
    them

As a podcaster who takes some big swings either with yarns or color, I often wonder if you wear your pieces or not, or what you really think of it with a bit of distance from the project. Addressing the stubble is something that is not talked about a lot it was good to hear it mentioned.

Absolutely one of my favorite episodes of the year! Thank you. My favorite knit of the year (actually favorite ever!) was the Korshavn Sweater by Strikkekaffe. My second favorite was the Iceberg Sweater by Hinterm Stein. A friend of mine loved that sweater so much I gave her mine for Christmas. I cast on my replacement on Dec 30 and finished it on Jan 19. The fastest I've ever knit a sweater! So that's given me the courage to have a sweater goal for the year. I'm hoping for 10 sweaters, If I can knit a sweater in less than a month that should be doable and still give me time to knit other things and take a vacation where I might not knit so much (though that's doubtful). My big excitement for the year is that I'll be going to the Shetland Wool Week this autumn with 3 other knitters. I've never been to the Shetland Islands. I'm really motivated to knit through lots of my stash so I can bring home yarns that are not easy to find here in Virginia. I'm looking forward to regular episodes from you this year. They're always inspiring!

Happy New Year! Love all your 2023 projects! Love all your intentions! My year this year for my knitting will be about me! Also, no yarn buying here! It seems like the last few years I have acquired a lot of yarn! I have beautiful yarn here ready to be made into beautiful items! I will be going way out of my comfort zone knitting three sweaters for my sons!

    Hi Jonathan,
This was so fun to watch. Love your rankings and that so many of your pieces are so wearable and heirloom worthy. Im so glad you discussed the vest from Neons & Neutrals.. I bought it and that is one of my favorite patterns. Sounds like I'll really need to psyche myself up to knit it and focus on the end results. Also love your gentle goals for this year. My goals are to knit many shift cowls, hats and fingerless mitts (free pattern Lambing mitts by Tolt yarn&wool) are my favorites. And build up a stash of gifts that are ready to go instead of stressing out in November. Looking forward to your 4 patterns 😊

You have a nice slim body. Don't be afraid to decrease a little in your side seams and make the length a couple of inches longer. You are talented enough to start modifying your garments. Your stitches are amazing in the close ups. Tiny little perfect stitches.

I love your knits, and took a picture of the “Shift” cowl, because that’s stunning and the best colors. I also loved the pink and green vest you made (and loved it even more when you said it was like Monet), but it’s out of my skill range right now. Happy 2024!!! I'm a first time viewer and I loved your ranking system and seeing all of your beautiful knits! I'm knitting the Yu right now and totally agree with your description of how it feels to knit the weird herringbone. Even though I'm in the ribbing sections now, I had to put it away for a while to let my brain recover. But seeing your vest is making me inspired to get through the finish line since yours is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing your 2023 ranking. I really enjoyed watching your video. The "Tessellated Vest" fits you so well! You should definitly knit the sweater too, or maybe a second vest. I also knitted a vest for myself and I am loving it! As a sock knitter I highly recommend the "Vestigial Socks". It´s a free pattern by Beata Jezek (HHF) and I knit it all the time. My knitting goals for 2024 are: Knit more cardigans and knit more vests! Accidentally my New Year's CO 2024 was a colorwork sweater ... So we will see ... 😅

I had to laugh about your curio socks. I just so happened to find a finished baby sweater 2 days ago that only needed the ends woven in and a couple of buttons added. Totally forgot about it! How does that even happen? My baby of course grew out of it in the 1 or 2 years it has been forgotten. So good thing your feet don't grow =) Now you can enjoy them and giggle at your own forgetfulness every time you wear them.

Wensleydale is just wonderful to knit with. Bare Naked Wools had one in their Mystery Wool Along last year, and there's a whole recorded Zoom meeting that covers the history of the breed as well and the unique characteristics. Anne Hanson talks about them in this recording ua-cam.com/video/We6sa5Er8w4/v-deo.htmlsi=8PhF67UiCYiMW8BU&t=799 I'm hoping to use it again it was so nice.

Hi Jonathan i would like how you to knit Woman pattern for a man body. My boyfriend is also like you Not really large but he is a man . He would Like a vest but I am affraid to take a petite knit pattern and knit for him. What do you suggest?

    • @JonathansDays
      @JonathansDays  7 місяців тому +2

My best advice to to measure one of his favourite sweaters (doesn’t even have to be a knitted one) that he likes the fit of. Then if you see a vest pattern you like then you can compare those measurements as most patterns will have a schematic of the finished measurements of the garment. Generally all I have to do for my shape is to knit the body a bit longer. Good luck with it!
