Thank you Grandpa, I had not heard of the requirement for the annual reporting until I saw your Vlogg. I have the ACR light purple card (13a probationary) that I received in November. I went today to the Makati satellite office today and reported. I went around 1:00 pm and there were only 2 other guys in front of me. 15 minutes, 310 pesos, and was complete, but of course parking was terrible. I ended up parking at nearby "Century Mall" and walking about 10 minutes to office. Thanks again as I would not have been aware of this...
I don't get it. Would it not benefit the Philippine economy greatly, if the Philippines were to admit retirees, let them bring their money to Philippine banks WITHOUT the red tape? Or let them BUY a house with a small land (SMALL, 1000 sqm is too much already) in their name, what on earth is wrong with that idea? Let them enjoy the food, the company, let them spend their money, their Social Security money in the philippines!..once the retirees pass away the house passes into Philippine ownership, because no one can take it with them into the grave..you see what the USA does for the retirees? They will deposit the SSI funds into banks all over the world, to make things simple for retirees, so why does the Philippines, not do the same? Please show me ONE RATIONAL argument why the Philippines are trying to make more and more hurdles for people? Where is the profit in that?
If you are a TOURIST when you arrive in the Philippines your Passport in stamped for a FREE 30 days visa, before the end of the 30 days if you intend to stay longer you must go to immigration where you will pay and get an extra 29 days visa stamp it your Passport. So before the end of the total 59 days you will go to immigration to extend your visa if staying longer, you will pay and get 2 or 6 months extension you will also pay for an ACRI card that is mandatory if staying over the 59 days, The ACRI card lasts for one year and starts at the end of your 59 days so that will coinside with your 2 or 6 month visa extensions. sorry i am trying to put this in plain English so its easy to understand as some of the explanations are confusing
Some do not understand. Granpa explained it and the reader asked what he just said. That's what I noticed and read on grandpa's vlogg. I suggest , the person has to listen again until it is being understood. My suggestion is to get someone to explain the subject in the dialect ,or tagalog.
Your post is correct or at least it was. I have been in the Phil for 2 years and renew my tourist visa as required. I asked about the ACRI card and they just said they don't care and not required unless I need it as an ID. I have been coming and going in the Phil and previous to my stay this time, I always had to buy the card. But for some reason they just laughed me off and they continue to renew my visa without asking for one.
I have an SSRV and live in Tagaytay. When you get the SSRV you are issued an photo id card that serves the same purpose as the ACI card for opening bank accounts and other needs. It has recognized and accepted by people every time I used it to establish residency.

The Philippines immigration must be digitized soon, so the local offices won’t be able to bribe the foreigners. The visa extension and exit clearance and other services should be online and soon!
Thank you! I am in the Philippines right now and trying to open a bank account, the bank was asking me gor ACRI certification. Not quite sure but i am scheduled to go to Philippines consulate in SBMA.
hello. If you are on a tourist visa you will not get an ACRI card till you have extended your visa past the 59 days then Immigration will automaticlly issue you with an ACRI CARD. Good luck on getting a bank account if you are on a tourist visa.
There is one still remaining problem with reporting on the annual ACR report. The quarentine lockdown is still in effect for younger and especially senior citizens. I am 72 and I have been on lockdown since March 15 th of last year. Just getting to the NBI for the 13A visa, we decided to use a service as he found a way to get it done. The BI pictures again created a problem. Luckily he is picking up my approved 13A stamp on passport and will do the annual report. The new ACR card is going to take a couple of months. If over 65 save yourself a lot of trouble and hire a service as they know their way around the system.
when we were still balikbayan, I went to BI office in Dumaguete (2017) to get an ACR I card. The clerk said I shouldn't bother and I said I needed it to open a bank account. He asked me which bank required it, I said I didn't know, I was just going by what I had heard. He told me the banks here do not require ACR I card but that was 2017. I never bothered to open up an account here, I just use my us bank. Bank have toughened up on some rules so it may be different now in 2021.
Do I have to have ACR-I card if I leave the country after 60 days? I have 4 months valid visa, but I leave after 2 months. ACR-I card is pending and I pick it up before I leave the country.

@@vloggergrandpa2707 Thanks Grandpa for your quick response, for US greencard holders/residents and a balikbayan, is it mandatory for them to get this card?
Balikbayan's are specifically exempt from ACRI-card. Also, since you are a greencard holder, you are a Filipino citizen and ACRI-card only applies to foreign nationals.
Hello from what know only being on a tourist visa after your first 59 days it is mandatory to have an ACRI card and immigration will automatically issue you with an ACRI card if you are going to extend your visa over the 59 days. The ACRI card is valid for one year after the 59 days so will coincide with your visa extensions of every 2 or 6 months for renewal if you are still in the philippines. One point i am not sure about but i think i am right in saying if you leave the Philippines and come back your ACRI card if its still in date is still valid
Thanks for another informative video Danny. I had been thinking about getting a 13-A but I'm beginning to wonder if I'd be stupid to when I can just go in as a Balikbayan and not have to bother with the annual check in and ACRI fee plus the annual PR card check in and fee. I think I can make out alright without a bank account in the Philippines since my wife already has that. From what I understand a person can also extend the Balikbayan 1 year period if I go through the right channels? That just seems like it might be so much less of a hassle. :)
Getting a dual citizenship is the least hassle of all. Why are you reluctant to recapture your motherland's citizenship? You have to inquire how much it would cost you to extend a Balikbayan visa. If you will be a frequent visitor, or semi-permanent visitor, I would definitely get dual citizenship. I got mine the same day (before the pandemic) and only cost me $50, one time. After that, I had to apply for Philippine passport that cost me under $100 and it is good for 10 years. Now, I can go back and forth between US and Philippines and not worry about a visa or entry restrictions like during the pandemic. Balikbayan was not even allowed few months ago. What could be less hassle than that? Think about it. 🙂
@@vloggergrandpa2707 Sorry for the misunderstanding Danny but I'm a Canadian born and raised, while my wife is a Filipino. I assume that you have a tourist visa. Well, you are suppose to get a WHITE ACRI-card if you are staying longer than 59 days. The information I have says a White card will be issued to "temporary visitors [meaning, Tourists] who will stay/have stayed for more than 59 days." Anyway, if you have an email that says that you don't need it, good for you. Just be sure to save that email. This is a very common problem in the Philippines. Ask two people, and you get two different answers. Just like asking the IRS in the US. 🙂

Sir Dan I wonder if you are also have experience in financial business, advising us to which stock or business opportunity to invest our money in the Philippines to enjoy our retirement ?
Yes, I am very experienced in business and finance. However, I haven't been practicing for the past 15 years. Personally, the best way for me to enjoy my retirement years is to not worry about ANYTHING! But, if I will do it, it will be real estate in the Philippines, or the stock market. But that will keep me too preoccupied and I will not be calling it retirement. 😆
I am dual and retiring soon. I am planning to go back and live in the Philippines for good. What requirements do I need? Thank you for your kind response. Have a great day.
If you are now a US citizen, get Philippine dual citizenship. After you get that, get yourself a Philippine passport. You are then a dual citizen of US and Philippines. If you have no plans to come back to the US, discontinue your Medicare insurance except for Plan A (hospitalization) which is mandatory for all citizens and not paid by you. It is paid by the US government. Get yourself an insurance in the Philippines. If I tell you what else you need to do, I will be writing a book. 🙂
I will be a first time visitor to the Philippines and I have my passport and wanted to know do I what until I get there and if I want to stay more than 60 days where do I go to get a vias?
If you are a foreigner, tourist visa are not being issued except for very urgent and important reasons. Anyway, you can get a tourist visa at the Philippine Consulate nearest where you live. Here's the list of consular offices with jurisdiction where you live: www.philippinessanfrancisco.org/philippines-sf/consulate-finder-sf/
Grandpa , paano po kung magexpire and ICARD native born sa December , 2021 and still pandemic .. cannot go home . Can you renew ICARD in absentia with proper authorizations
Suppose I have a 59 days tourist visa and I intend to stay longer, how many days before the expiry of my visa I have to apply for ACRI and how long does it take for issuance of ACRI card. Secondly, once I have the ACRI card which is normally valid for one year. Can I re-enter the Philippines just using my ACRI card, please advise
It means Alien Certificate of Registration Identification. If you are dual, that means you are a Philippine citizen. You don't need it. It only applies to foreign nationals.
I am a 13a permanent visa holder. My ACR Card expired on 23 June 2020. Cannot renew due to travel restriction. When I am able to return to Philippines what will going to happen upon my arrival at manila airport immigration. Kindly enlighten. Thks
All I know is you have to fly to Philippine airport, and they will process the re-entry renewal there. However, I don't know what fees you have to pay. I hope they don't impose a penalty since that is beyond your control...assuming you go back within a reasonable amount of time...and not year 2030. 🙂

@@vloggergrandpa2707 Yes i have a Tourist visa and yes i have my ACRI card after i was here for 59 days, i have been in the philippines since August 2019 and i am on my second ACRI card as they only last for one year. yes again i have saved the email. I will be going to Immigration in April to do my 6 months visa extension and i will certainly give you an update. Thank you TC Bill
@Brit engineer in Mindanao the Philippines Thank you. I will appreciate your letting me know what you find out.
By the way, here is a link regarding the filing requirement: resources.envoyglobal.com/blog/philippines-acr-i-card-registration-due-march-1-2021?Mondaq&LinkedIn-integration
And here's another link from Philippine News Agency: www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1126246
I thought this requirement would include SRRV visa holders as well only to find out later that SRRV visa holders are NOT required to have ACRI-Card. It is only optional. Therefore, they are exempt from filing. But tourists (9A) visa holders are not exempt.
Now, here is a more official link from the Philippine Immigration: www.immigration.gov.ph/55-february-2014-press-releases/359-last-day-of-annual-report-march-1
Can i renew my acr card right after they gave it to me?
Thanks for the info. God Bless po sa inyo.
What about the ACR Red Card- what does it cover?

I will be a first time visitor to the Philippines and I have my passport and wanted to know do I what until I get there and if I want to stay more than 60 days where do I go to get a vias?
If you are a foreigner, tourist visa are not being issued except for very urgent and important reasons. Anyway, you can get a tourist visa at the Philippine Consulate nearest where you live. Here's the list of consular offices with jurisdiction where you live: www.philippinessanfrancisco.org/philippines-sf/consulate-finder-sf/
Hi granpa good day. When to apply ACR card ? After getting 30 days of free visa ?
Are balikbayans reguired? (My husband is dual filipino/us
Referring to myself if I need one. I have US passport only.
Grandpa , paano po kung magexpire and ICARD native born sa December , 2021 and still pandemic .. cannot go home .
Can you renew ICARD in absentia with proper authorizations
I don't even know what will happen tomorrow. 🙂 Let's wait until Dec 2021.
Good question to ask the Immigration Consultant. Let me know what you find out. 😉
Grandpa...what that mean...ACRI...?.. Do i need that when I'm going home nexr month..I'm dual citizen...please let me know grandpa...thank you....
Just new here watching your vlog ;Don't have any idea until I have seen your videos,,Am former Filipino citizen but now US citizen di pa po ako Dual citizen but now planning too .Since Phillipine Immigration heard a lot of so many laws that am not much really aware or familiar of it. I and my late husband left US and relocated to Phillipines since middle year of 2017 but during our stay/my visa expires we/ I always exited Phillipines before our visa expires.Yan po ba card na tinutukoy niyo is different to the visa where they put a stamp on passport ? Sorry am ignorant talaga .Due po sa pandemic na over stay ako sa Philippines for few moths my mistake I did not make any connection to BI before my visa expires in Philippines because of pandemic until came back to US last November 2020. Now do I still need to complete those required documents cause I been living in Philippines more than 3years before my visa expires I had to exit the country or apply for an xtension visa .But now am confuse do I still need it or apply?
Hope you reply
@@vloggergrandpa2707 thanks you for your time and replying the soonest as you can. Will be looking forward pa po more on your vlog, God Bless

Balikbayans are not required to have ACRI card. www.expatforum.com/threads/staying-in-philippines-for-6-months-do-i-need-an-acr-card.1529805/
pano po ang us citizen pero hindi dual citizen, kailabgan pa po ba ng visa?
If you are former Filipino citizen and now a foreigner, you can go back as balikbayan. This is covered in one or several of my vlogs. Here's the link to my channel. ua-cam.com/channels/YU70S4jYvhw0BOetMFdD6A.htmlvideos
I never received acr card, been here 1-1/2 yrs now
@@bobhutch3188 You may have to apply for one. How have you been renewing your visa without one? Also, some types of visa's don't require one (sIRV, sRRV etc.)..

I HOLD A SSRN ACR VISA TYPE TVV IT RUNS OUT MAY 9 2022 . I am American. I MUST LEAVE THE PH FOR A DAY IS THIS THE RULE ? I WAS PLANING ON GOING TO SINGAPORE FOR OVER NIGHT OR I DO HAVE TO GO TO AMERICA I am 71 YEARS AND ON SS. I COULD AFFORD THE TRIP TO SINGAPORE BUT NOT ROUND TRIP TO AMERICA . I LIVE AND BEEN IN KIAMBA .HELP ME WITH THE ANSWER GRANDPA PLEASE YOUR VLOG IS VERY INFO.. AS P THANK YOU
If you are required to leave the country, it could be anywhere. You don't have to go to USA. Please clear immigration office to be sure. Why not get an SSRV visa or 13A visa so you don't have to play this game.
@@vloggergrandpa2707 THANKS GRANDPA WHAT THE COST OF SSRV?
@Bill chronister. That is covered in one of my vlogs. Here's the link to my channel. studio.ua-cam.com/channels/YU70S4jYvhw0BOetMFdD6A.htmlplaylists
@@billchronister5242 as far as I have heard: To obtain that ssrv visa you have to "invest" 10 000 US$ into an account. You can ONLY use that money if you "buy" a condominium...remember foreigners are not allowed to own LAND in the Philippines, but a condominium, yes. OR is you can show that the 10 000 are needed for healthcare... then you get that ssrv. OR you get a balikbayan visa...in other words, marry a Filipina and thats not a bad thing, hopefullly!
my departure date is coming up im gonna Go to immigration and apply for a extension i believe the first time you are granted 29 days. Any idea how i can handle my airline ticket just tell me i would like to change my departure date
