      Thanks for watching Brad, glad you enjoyed the vid. Filming was very rushed and edited within a day as we were going on holiday. Our holiday video featuring steam trains, a vintage buse and an abbey is out on Sunday. Oh and a bonus bargain hunt tomorrow! All the best Rick

    @10.50 Always considered the Airfix coal wagons to be a nice model as the sides were a nice width and had detail along the top edge.

    Hi Rick its nice to see how Pauline supports you in the hobby and doesnt complain about the prices . I am lucky too as my wife supports me too in a similar way .Another great vid and we hope to bump into you one day .Perhaps the Garden Railway may be the way to go as I know Pauline doesnt like gnomes 😂

      Thanks for the reply. I have a very nice rake of blue, R211 (Pauline would love them and I'm sure you know them very well!) BSC open steel wagons, which I always thought were authentic. But I've never been able to find a photo of them in action in real life, so now I'm thinking the livery may be a creation of the Hornby / Marketing departments.

      Hi Garth, very true but Pauline has her own hobbies to blow cash on and I dare not comment. 😂😂 As regards Gnomes I'm fighting a losing battle. 😀

    The initials B.S.A. stands for Birmingham Small Arms, and they were originally gun makers, particularly during the 2 world wars, so a gunpowder van would be appropriate. Motor cycles were a later sideline, which took more importance as weapon production ceased.

    Another fantastic shoe and great views of models sand the stories to go with them. Your gentleman with all the Euro stuff was very cool, although he did call a class #110 a "#121." lol Hey, now and then, I actually know something about a train... rare, but sometimes. Great show again, thanks for all the great entertainment.

    Rick in Wrenn heaven😂, I know the dilemma when suddenly all your wants appear at the same time and your brain goes in a curt cut🤯, and if you don't restrain your self, £1000 will fly off the bank account in no time.😱
    Good If it doesn't hurt you, but most of us don't have that privilege.
    On the other hand it will take away the bargain hunt drift and waiting often results in finding a bargain and you feel good to have waited.
    I think in the long end it will make you happier waiting.
    That's also the problem if you buy new and the shadow side of it, where pre order has become the standard, or you're going to mis out completely, or things will be dumbed at 50% after, there is no certainty.
    Hornby, over the years, has become king in limited editions, where in the end it becomes so ridiculous that the box becomes the limited edition.😂
    But I'm sure we all have models, where we say I paid too much for it, or visa versa.
    Seen some lovely stuff, some rarities and I'm honored to have accomplished the term "a Danny's special" for novelty wagons, I hope it will become a standart frase in the community🤣.
    Anyway, these toy fairs always seem to me as the best, good prices and very often special things pop up there, my all time favorite fair videos.
    Thanks again for taking us on that magical mystery tour…🌈
    Cheers,
    Danny

      Hi Danny, the Wrenn Princess Alice was a bargain at £250, not in perfect condition as some of the lining is missing but that is reflected in the price as I have seen them for 500+. This year has found me buying much less than previous as I have become more selective in my purchasing especially with the locos. More Danny specials will be in upcoming videos. 😂😂 All the best Rick

    Hello Pauline and Rick! Who was a lucky boy, what a beautiful wrenn loco, limited edition as well. Did you buy the Co-Bo ? Pauline you really spoil Rick! Could I just say most of the Continental locos are very heavy, they all have metal chassis and the majority of Marklin and Trix, same company, have metal bodies. If you see any HAG locos they are always metal and for the most part bomb proof, made in Switzerland. Thanks for another great video! Harry

    Hi both,
    Is there any way to tell whether the liveries on the private owner wagons are either authentic or fictional?

    • @wellchuffedrailways
      @wellchuffedrailways  Місяць тому +1

      Hi Stephen, I'd suggest going on a few railway forums. This is a problem that our friend Danny has mentioned. Some liveries I thought were fictitious have turned out to be real so it's a bit of a lottery! All the best Rick

    • @stephendavies6949
      @stephendavies6949 Місяць тому +1

      @wellchuffedrailways Yeah, I've come to the same conclusion!
      I have a very smart looking rake of Hornby R211 open wagons in blue British Steel Corporation (BSC) livery (Pauline would love them, and I'm sure you know the model). But I've failed to find a photo of the wagons in use in real life, so I am wondering if they were indeed a creation of Hornby's sales & marketing department...
