It was a production of Team Ninja and Koei Tecno, yes the who make the Dead of Alive, this game can marry with Dead or Alive 6 and KISS!
It is seriously weird to hear Vayne talk about "submitting to the gods", considering that pretty much most of FFXII's plot was consequence of him trying to free humanity from just that.
I mean looking at his situation here he pretty much has no choice but to submit. Like he said they're pawns called by the respective god.
Still, thats not like him. But considering it's SE, any consitency would be asked too much.
He did cooperate with a rogue God from his world though, so isn't he still technically submitting

I think he'd rather submit to somewhat benevolent gods than be a pawn under Shinryu, who makes the Occuria look nice and reasonable...
It's kind of twofold: on the one hand, he has been forced into this position and he KNOWS it. Hence why he's so resigned to fighting at first.
Second: he's not on his own world. He has practically no attachment to this world or the conflict, so he is uninterested in really contributing to it.
He's stayed consistent, it's just that he has almost no stake in what's going on.

Still grateful they added Vayne into story mode, even if his encounter was kind of trivial lol.
Just happy to hear his VA again and his conversation with Noctis is an interesting one, to say the least.

I'm really glad they could get Elijah Alexander to reprise his role. He just knows how to make Vayne sound regal and imposing without sounding stereotypically evil
Agreed. I loved the way Elijah Alexander made the way Vayne sound ever since FFXII was out, and now that he's in Dissidia NT reprising his role, I'm immensely happy about that! Thanks Square, and Thank you Elijah lmao

Ironically in terms of leadership and status, Cecil is the only one there who's a King, Noct is a goth prince and Warrior of Light is a....Warrior 😂
I love Lord Vayne. So happy they put him in before some of the more popular characters... but I still want Gabranth from FFXII T^T
I don't know why, but for some reason Vayne's voice reminds me of Adryn's voice.

Vayne probably understands that Noctis instead of changing his destiny given to him by the gods, is accepting of it because everyone he knows is depending on him.

Wow, i know every hero(-ine) has him/her own reasons, intentions, motivations and relevance as a person and to the game's plot, but being and fighting together with the Hero/Warrior of Light must be some really impactating experience and an honor for one to have, as he was the first fantasy of all of them...
I'm not a fan of Vayne, but, it's kinda sad to see one main villain's role reduced into a...random encounter? Lol.
Because at the end of the day these supposed protagonists and villains are just "teaming up" for their freedom. They mostly gave up their personal grudges and look at the bigger picture at this point. Vayne is on a neutral stance despite being Spiritus's warrior and only picks fights at his own pleasure. He simply has no schemes in this game... but I do know he appeared on Opera Omnia's Season 2. We'll wait and see what he's up to there.

I'd really love to see Doctor Cid in this game... He was an extremelly cool (and funny) villain in FFXII, and I loved his crazy dialogues.

The other Season Pass characters, I bet, would be inserted into the plot as part of Squall+Lightning Encounters since they were never shown in the original plot to have encountered any villain on their way to their mission.

Maybe squall and lightning didnt have a battle yet and a DLC will tell that... maybe thats a FFVIII/FXIII characters confirmed as a DLC maybe

Well it turns out Lighting and Squall end up meeting Lighting Returns era Snow on their path, so yes.

He feigns enjoyment but beyond his noble pride his heart delivers another pace.
One shortsighted of his hopes and wonders.
I'd have been much more interested in the story mode if we were able to play from the perspective of the likes of Vayne and Golbez, not just the 'heroes' of the Final Fantasy games.
Vayne would be interesting seeing as he is by many rights a heroic character too, but the type who believes ends justify the means. That's really the major reason he had an antagonistic role in 12 really, considering he was after the exact same thing as your group by the end.

Maybe Vayne will have a better understanding of Ashe now that he has talked to Noctis.
Vayne was one of the most unique villains, one of those villains with a goof cause, but the means which he goes about it is unethical. Also the fact he is of the monk or fighter class as a main antagonist on top of his role as a diplomatic leader is nice.
So cool of them to get Eliah Alexander back to voice... like, a few lines for Vayne before he does nothing else.

Seing a villain who respects others is just great. It may not impact the story, but it's nice to have a reflection of what we are fitting for.
I also like the villan as he really smart and his playstle is unique. Thank you Square Inix to bring this moment for us. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😉😉😉😉😉

Never a huge fan of FF12 or Vayne but I bought the DLC and he's not bad on first impression. I sense there's going to be a lot of frustration with players/teammates that don't recognize how dangerous his buffs are. On a side note, this world can have but one Emperor... and he is Emperor Mateus (you can have some cool banter between those two characters).
The cutscene is so short and really didn't have anything significant to the plot. I hope this doesn't become the trend

I hope that, when other characters are released, they include Vayne more. That's always a possibility. He's only the first DLC character. We don't know what's going to happen as the others are released.

It's weird that the cutscenes set the fight up to be a Core Battle, yet it's just a basic match instead.

I wonder if Vayne is starting to rethink his desicions based on what Noctis told him but why couldn't we get an encounter between Vayne and Vaan
Consider that this game probably take place after the end of each warrior game. I think this Vayne is the one after the end (or maybe resurrection if he's dead, I don't know) and sort of accepting god rule or at least question about his previous ambition.
Did Vaan have any relation or interaction with Vayne in 12?
Trueblade Seeker Not particularly since Vaan is reduced to a background character he never spoke with him directly and I guess maybe they would be saving his interaction with a protagonist from XII for Larsa or Ashe

Ok. Now i see why they left the story map all wipy wopy. It just looked weird and didnt make any sense. But now i see why. Was also curious how added stories was going to work. So this answers 2 questions with one stone. And as for my personal opinion on what just went down. Eh..... Weak and poorly done. But..... I guess this is have to be expected with a huge roster. But still stinks. Still sucks.
Ya, I agree. They should've put plotholes for the new character to fill. And from that plotholes, one can make a huge story from it so that the new characters get their own role. This seems kinda... Forced... ._.
I do agree. The main issue is that it wasn't long enough. But actually, the Shinryu theme is carried over from the previous two games. So technically, this game wrapped up the other two. Just not in a satisfying way.

So we have Vayne. Who else will appear? Many want Caius (13) and Ardyn (15), which makes enough sense, FF1 creator wants Minwu (2), so that’s cool. Probably will get Yuna (10), Laguna (8), Tifa (7), Prishe (11), and Gilgamesh (5) at some point.
I don’t know who I’d want, though. Perhaps Machina (Type-0), Eiko (9), Locke (6), and Seymour (10).

Well we’ll see. They said they want 50 characters at least and plan to bring all the Dissidia veterans back but it will take a while.
Jonathan Irizarry sadly while the arcade is doing fenomenal the console is uhm well in danger I don't think they'll go till the 50 mark they wanted. after these 6 I see a veterans pass and them wrapping it up at 40. (6 for season 1 6 for season 2 plus the initial 28) and that's being generous.
Daryl We do know actually. SE said all Veterans will eventually return. But there are so many more Final Fantasy characters to choose from that all but one are on the back burner.
With how many sales this game got I really doubt they will keep their promise of 50 characters
Moon Door. I am just waiting for tifa to buy this game. Though even if she mades it here, the game itself hasnt convinced me at all. Also, the game ia dying already, so this is making mE worrying for tifa's arrival. Until 2019? The game has not enough potential to survive that long.

They really butchered the writing for Vayne, you can tell that Elijah is really struggling to bring the character to life in spite of the generic dialogue and less-involving voice direction in comparison to the original FFXII. They made him sound like a boring, monotone anime villain banging on about why they fight rather than a tactical genius with an uncompromising force of will.

FIX THE STUPID SERVERS
This is a dissapointment, but at least the concept of the cutescene is deeper than it seems, like the ffXII´s plot. Vayne in FFXII, wants to release the human race from the gods to get freedom and be the makers of our own destiny. Noctis instead is making exacting what the gods want him to do.
SPOILERS FFXV: They want Noctis to sacrifice his life in order to resolve the gods´s mistakes. He answerd Vayne that he was doing it for all the people who had helped him, but the truth is that all these people want Noctis to sacrifice himshelf to save them, so what Noctis has is cognitive dissonance, trying to justify himshelf that he is only a glorified sacrifice. I have had the impression that Vayne here wants him to realized about it, that he doesnt´t have to sacrifice if he doesn´t want, that maybe there is another way to make the things happen. Or only is me hating the FFXV´s plot and hating how ANYONE (well, except Ignis in the DLC), not even his friends, his father or his fiance, stopped one time to reconsider his death. And they call it "the Final Fantasy of the true friendship"...
The main message of the FFXV plot is too christian: do what the gods say without cuestioning, and you will live happy in the afterlife, while the message of the others FF´s always has been very heretic and more about the heroes being true heroes and revealing againsts the gods if they found it´s necessary.
So, the main concept of the cutscene is interesting but too short and lazy...

I wouldn't call it Christian maybe elements. Afterall, ehen haven't gods of any religion not been cocky or assholish. Noctis in sense grew but it sucked that sacrifice had to happen. Kinda reminds me of the Shimigami or whatever from Death Note just fuckin with humanity. Bahamut was an absolute cunt and Ardyn,Noctis and the world suffered.
