I recently installed mine and have filled and emptied the tank twice. I'm getting a dry mouth feel from the water. The water is registering at 85ppm on TDS vs the 185 of my faucet water. Anyone have any ideas? I do have the alkaline remineralizer installed.
Under normal operating conditions, how much water is actually sent to the drain in this system? I’m considering an installation in which I collect the waste water for cleaning / plant watering but wonder how much drain water this would actually mean managing. Thanks
As far as I know it was 1:1 ratio. I know what you’re saying about watering plants it’s a good idea! We did that in our garden used waste water from our RO. We have a family of four and our current RO has a 9 gallon tank so depending on your tank and ratio could be more waste water.

During a text chat with them on their website, the guy told me there systems do NOT remove monochloramine, which in there descriptions it says it does. 2. Mine came with the standard tank 3 some gallons. They also claim 1:1 ratio on there web site from waste water. I opened the tank to let it fill for the first time about an hour ago. I've been draining it in to buckets and filling a 5 gallon bucket with the waste water. I just dumped 5 gallons and the system is still running, so there's another lie. Don't get me wrong, this is my first system ever and I have no idea of the water quality. But I did want to inform you of some misinformation. Keep in touch, I'm curious to see how yours goes.

I was surprised when you said it wasn’t 1:1 ratio, I know the permeate pump is supposed to help make ro membrane more efficient but what you describe sounds like 4:1. Did you notice the unit working better after a few days of use? I was also going with a bigger tank 4 or 9 gallon and I need a additional tubing, I’m installing the unit in my basement under the kitchen.
@@IndianaDiy I haven't monitored waste water after initial start up. But after much research it sounds like 3:1 is about as good as it gets, which is about what mine does. The unit you're looking at, looks about the same engineering as the one I got. I would get the original one we discussed, has all the fixins along with the 3/8" high flow tubing and it cost less. You will love a bigger tank, I would consider mounting it higher off the floor (downstairs), closer to the tap. I only suggest that cause the only pressure you get is from the bladder. I did hook mine to the fridge also, it came with a Tee already in the line. I plan on running the waste water outside. After finding out 3:1 is great performance, I'm not so disappointed. Keep in mind any advertising about them removing monochloramine, is false advertising. Over all.... I like it. Would probably buy it again. Goodluck, stay in touch.
My remineralization/alkaline filter doesn't add any ppm but does raise my ph. Im not too thrilled that my water is still only at 36ppm after adding that. Ispring told me thats not possible if it is raising the ph and sent me a new one but still the same problem. What should my tds read after adding the alkaline filter? I also see that you added an extra one, how many ppm did that add? I need this to work properly so myself, plants and pets are getting proper mineral levels.
+I Piss On Trump Tards I like my ph at 6.5-7.0 all the time, as far a tds I have a reading of 10-12. I have no problem with with my plants when using water from my ro. I also use the ro behind my whole house filter also.

Yes it works fine the weight is not a concern it's sturdy. I was going to mount my unit in my basement and get a bigger storage tank. I put a booster on my unit to make it more efficient saved on my water bill.
Okay so probably a dumb question; the only RO unit I've ever worked with was a 6k gallon a day unit for marine use. It had its own pump motors, heaters, etc and we turned it on and off as tanks got low to fill them up for plant use. This system seems to have no moving parts, so like what is the motive force to begin reverse osmosis? Is it always making distillate good water, and if so, where is it going when i dont have the faucet open? How do you recharge the pressure on that tank which I assume is acting as an expansion tank to keep osmotic pressure? Thank you in advance
Most good Home RO units have a permeate pump. So, that plus water pressure is your pressure, so now I’m sure you know most RO units need pressure to operate. So, most homes water pressure is good enough to run a RO, but there are electric pumps available if needed. Basic stuff, But NOT a dumb question. So the water pressure pushes on the Tank's bladder as in an expansion tank and then the system should shut off once the tank is full and the valve is closed. You’re thinking about it correctly, just reduce you’re thinking from 6k to about 150-300 GPD max for a home unit and change the hardware. I personally have switched from Ispring to HomeMaster and I am doing a video on that Soon.

There is a link to it in the video description, But it is an alkaline filter and makes the water Ph higher about 8-9.5 Ph. The filer has several mineral types in it to promote health benefits. You need to add it after post carbon filter so It would replace your normal alkaline filter. So most filters come with fittings and a small amount of tubing, But you would cut tubing and install it or you may not need to cut depending on your RO system. Glad the video helped.

Yes please I have some questions. I just got the ispring reverse osmosis 5 stage filter installed in my home few days ago. and It is the worst experience for me. once I open the faucet it keeps pouring for only 2 minutes which is just enough to fill 3-4 bottles of water but not absolutely to cook with it. It's 4 people live in the house and the water comes out weak and stops very soon. The taste is even bad like "mineral taste like" . I was asked by the handyman to empty it out completely before using and couldn't even get to do that as it stops really quick. Please tell me if that's the normal or the same case with you.

I did that about 3-4 times but also to think about how much insanely water is wasted Now I locked the tank valve and don't use it. Is it normal for the water to flow for only 2 minutes and how do you use it for cooking. For instance, if you want to boil pasta will you be able to fill a whole pot of filtered water with it?
+Iman Afifi well Ro is a slow process, so water flowing through it will be slow or trickle if tank is not on. If you have a bicycle aire pressure gage you can chk the tank should be 10-15 psi..

You should be able to find a replacement RO Faucet. You should be able to find a replacement for most faucets.
Where does you PH land with those two reminerilizer?
I measured 6.5 ph for my city water.
Your city water is at 6.5 but what about after the reminerilization process... how much do the minerals raise the PH by?

Can the black drain line go uphill? I.e. put the unit in the basement and run drain line up to kitchen sink.
I haven't tried to run it up hill, it might do it since there is more pressure to the waste then there is to the the RO membrane.
I run mine out to the garden...I think it will go up for sure....It is quiet a bit of pressure..

It shouldn't be cloudy, did you leave it run for a while? Just curious, you may have to call Ispring if it doesn't clear up.
