I had the privilege to be able to go to the basement and laboratories and see how they work with dinosaur bones and those types of things and it's amazing. You should go to the one in La Plata, Buenos Aires. It's a very beautiful museum.
Espectacular video!
Blessings. I think You have to go To the Nature Museum more long and great than this. And The Children City It has one of the most great Collections of dolls all Over the World too. Walt Disney came in 1949 and copy the idea to build his Empire. And You can see too great places in some Bs As Galleries en Capital or in the Province. If You want one day I can show them. Too much places to see. Blessings.
This museum is also valued for the approach to British naturalism that it had at its beginnings. Many of its mammals are very old, they were stuffed according to the techniques of that time and are of interest to specialists in that discipline. There are true relics of taxidermy
I actually live around 15 blocks away from there 😂 i was right in front of that park a few weeks ago on Mother's Day. Always a cool place with lots of stuff to do, both the park itself and the shops around it. Btw the May Revolution isnt our Independence Day, thats 9 July 1816. But it is the date where our independence movement started. Basically, the Viceroy governed in the name of the King of Spain (Ferdinand VII), but at the time he was imprisoned by Napoleon and a puppet king was on his place. The people here felt that Spain, while under French occupation, was not in a position to properly take care of the colonies and the Viceroy had no real authority to report to. So we kicked him and formed our own government until Spain resolved their domestic issues. But when Spain kicked Napoleon a couple years later, we didnt want to give our government back to Ferdinand 😂 so the independence war started.
Thanks for the info. The reason I say Independence Day for May 25 is for any viewers from the US. In the US, we celebrate our Independence Day on the day that the colonies declared independence before the war, so it makes it easier for US folks to understand the significance of May 25 when I explain it that way. It is strange that we celebrate the beginning of the war and not the end in the US, but that's just how it is I guess!
I grew up a couple of blocks near parque centenario, a friend of mine used to regulary go to activities to both the museum and the observatory and he wanted to be a peleonthologist when we were kids. He is now a biologist, so thats the proof that investing in culture will allways be worth and pay back! Its so tragic that our current president its a f*cking psycho who is cutting budget on science and education (and basically everything else). Argentina has 5 Nobel Prizes (most than any country in Latin America), and 3 of them are from science (2 in medicine and 1 in chemistry). So its a real shame to see our legacy be destroyed just for the political caprice of some bozo who wants to be against everything just for the sake of labeling himself as "the change".
few words in spanish, very good! welcome / translations: Buenos Aires ¿Good Airs? José de San Martín ¿Joseph of Saint Marteen? / Centennial Park or Jurassic Park ? 😄
Argentina is actually one of the leading countries in Paleonthology research and discoveries! Glad you enjoyed a bit of our cientific culture here

That museum is a fixture in primary school outing schedule indeed... very cool though
It seems like that kind of place. It reminds me of the Field Museum in my city, Chicago. I really enjoyed the visit!
