    Thank you thank you thank you!!! I’m doing the happy dance!!! I have struggled with both filet and mosaic crochet for months now and wasted soooooooo much yarn. Your inset video has made my crochet life so much easier. Patterns are easier for me to follow and I don’t get lost on the stitch count. Again, thank you sooooo very much 🥰🥰

    What a wonderful video that was easy to follow along. Thank you for your patience and staying with your viewers and not leave them in the middle of instructions or just giving a very basic example. Yours was very informative, easy to follow, and you were very articulate in every way.
    You are a breath of fresh air. And thank you for talking instead of just playing annoying music without a voice. I do not understand people going through all the trouble to make a video and not talk their viewers through the mechanics of the stitch. So thank you for that too.
    I will most definitely be watching more of your videos.
    The only complaint is the many ads and I use US terminology and not UK, but that was no problem since I am a seasoned crocheter.
    So, again, thank you so very much!

    I found your channel through a search on how to learn Tunisian crochet. I've watched quite a few of your tutorials now and absolutely love your teaching style 😍 So easy to follow and I’m super excited to start new things with the techniques I'm learning. Thank you sooooooo much!!!! Also learned from a video how I can make my own stitch markers from what I've already got by looking at yours 😄

      Inset uses nearly twice as much yarn as overlay and takes nearly twice as long to complete.
      But yes, it is indeed less textured.

    Hi there! I had lots of fun !! It is my first time doing Inset crochet. I have undone it 3 times, somewhere I lost a stich, then I did not change color and reading the chart from the wrong side! All a learning process!! The 4th time it came out so neat that I don’t even have to block it! So what do I think about the Inset Crochet ? I love it just as much as overlay crochet! With out your video I would not have been able to make it. Thank you! Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year 2023 🥰🧶🎄🎁☃️🧑‍🎄🎅🏽🥂

    I really enjoyed this tutorial 🥰, I’ve only ever done overlay Mosaic, I like the idea of less ends to sew in 😂, but I think I prefer the look of the overlay for me, this version is beautiful too but as of now I’m an overlay girl 😂, I’m really looking forward to see what other Mosaic crochet you come up with 😊🥰

    Hi! Great video, thank you for sharing and comparing the two techniques! What is the reason for chaining 2 instead of 1 for the skip 1? :)

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 роки тому +1

      You're welcome 😊 Chaining two just gives a little bit more room and stops the stitches being pulled close together so that they sit correctly.

  • @ChewingGum388
    @ChewingGum388 5 місяців тому

    Love the clear instructions ❤
    Does anyone know why it’s a chain 2 for 1 skip stitch? I’m curious cuz it’s typically 1 chain for 1 skip stitch. Appreciate if anyone can educate 🙏

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  5 місяців тому

      It’s to give the chain spaces a bit more stretch as they’ll be going behind the stitches you work in following rows, as opposed to working over and around them 😊

  • @CarolLynnWilliams
    @CarolLynnWilliams 3 роки тому +1

    This is a great similar look to the one side only with fringe pattern, which is not my preference. What I would like to know is how YOU complete the top row when you've finished the length wanted, and what kind of border you suggest to cover over the carried up colors ???

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  3 роки тому +1

      Once you've reached your desired length you can finish off with a plain row of stitches. If you pop over to the corresponding blog post here: bellacococrochet.com/inset-mosaic-crochet/ there are some close up pictures and also a chart 😊 A simple border of DC stitches (UK terms) will hide the carried up colours.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  3 роки тому

      Thank you, I'm glad you like my tutorials 😊 Inset refers to the style of mosaic crochet shown in the video; it's different from overlay mosaic crochet as the pattern is worked over two rows for each colour and the yarn isn't tied off, so there are no ends to sew in. You can find more info on my blog here: bellacococrochet.com/inset-mosaic-crochet/

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 роки тому +1

      The inset mosaic technique creates blocks that are slightly taller, which will more closely match the square shape of your graph paper 😊

  • @kathyd7506
    @kathyd7506 3 роки тому

    Great video! So if I want to go wider, I just repeat the pattern with the 10 stitches, which you have labeled as pattern repeat, and leave the border stitches on the ends. And I can go taller...and leave 11A and B for the end. Correct? What would you recommend for a simple border around the outside? I want to try this for placemats.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  3 роки тому

      Thank you, I'm glad you like it! 😊 Yes, to make this wider you should work your starting chain in multiples of ten plus three for turning, and continue repeating the pattern before finishing off with rows 11a and b. For placemats I think a simple crab stitch border would look great. I have a tutorial for that here: ua-cam.com/video/K7XOkueIkNM/v-deo.html

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Рік тому

    In the pattern, if I'm making a blanket do I repeat all rows including 11A and 11B...then back to 1A and 1B or do I stop at 10B and go back to 1A and leave 11A and 11B for the very last rows of the blanket?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  3 роки тому

      You should leave 11a and 11b for the end of the blanket as these rows act as a border 😊 You should be able to keep adding rows following the pattern by working your skipped stitch and chain spaces before your treble crochet.

    That isn’t UK treble. UK TREBLE: loop around hook, through the stitch, pick up loop, pull through (3 loops on hook) yarn around hook, pull through one loop, yarn around hook, pull through 2, yarn around hoo, pull through 2.

  • @kiraPh1234k
    @kiraPh1234k 2 роки тому +1

    I see no real benefits to this technique when conpared to overlay mosaic.
    Specifically, it seems the only benefit is management of yarn ends. However, you can do better with less yarn in overlay. E.g. you can just carry your yarns, which takes less yarn than making a second row and it looks neater as well.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 роки тому +1

      It comes down to personal preference I think - working two rows with each colour as with inset mosaic does use more yarn, but also gives more definition as the resulting stripes are bolder. It can also be tricky to carry your yarns with overlay mosaic as you are only working one row, so don't 'return' back to pick up the next colour. You could of course use multiple balls of yarn but this can quickly get tangled 😊
