I like the BT tune (Rose Of Jericho) in the background. I bought the Accessport as my first mod for my 2015 Subaru WRX. It was the best investment for my vehicle. I have a few more mods now; PRL FMIC, Mishimoto; radiator, cold air intake, oil cooler and TGV delete. I also have oil catch cans installed. Later will be a full exhaust modification. I'm glad that the Accessport is adaptable and flexible to more tuning modes the more mods I install. Thanks for being such a fantastic company.
I have the 335i E93 N55 with Cobb V3 Stg 2 and FBOs (DPs, FMIC, CP, DV) and though I do love my Cobb and all I have to be honest and say that it is limited in the things it can do for you in comparison to the MHD N55 Flasher.
Cobb gives you crazy power in 3rd gear or at about 60mph, it's like "Bam" and you're a puff a smoke hurling down the highway at crazy speed.
They work great but MHD offers so much more in terms of flexibility for multiple Maps (even has an E85 Map) and numerous other features and great support that Cobb rarely offers these days for their products.
Was about to buy this for my 125i M sport but was doibg some research (aka watching youtube videos) soon as he said he uses it on his 135. SOLD lol
I just bought a 08 335xi that came with the cobb thats for the information 👍
I just got the v3 access port but the previous owner of my Evo had some mods on it and im sure it already had a tune. Im setting up a date to get pro tuned but i kind of want to use the accessport as gauges rn until i get a tune so its not just sitting there lol. Do i HAVE to install a new tune to have the accessport married?
No you can monitor additional information on your car just by plugging it into the OBD. I think you'll also be able to read any check engine codes, and clear them if need be.
Don't give your car to a valet!
Would this be useful if i'm leaving my wrx 2013 stock?
You can get more horsepower and torque with their stage 1 tune without any mods. It will also get rid of the rev hang going into 2nd
Yes get it.
It'll give you many benefits even if you're running stock. Plus if you throw any engine codes, this will tell you what is wrong. You can clear codes as well. Like in said, plenty of benefits
I had this mod on my R35 its the best ECU mod ever made in my car. wished this company added my M6 to its list :(
Questions, I was gofted a used accesport, I have a gear lag on my gtr, what do i need to do? Ass soon as i connected the accesport to the car it worked perfectly
How long does it take to activate valet mode? does it take about the same time as installing a map or is it a click and activate type thing?
whats a re flash of the ecu? when I'm running a map? oh and why would u do this
My valet mode is stuck on, I never turned it on but after I installed the ap and put my map on it and it auto out valet mode on and I can’t find where to turn it off
I have a 15 sti I'm gonna install a catless downpipe and cobb intake with the access port can i tune my downpipe with the access port?
While I can't officially endorse running a system which eliminates emission control systems on street vehicles. Cobb does offer many "Off The Shelf" tunes to accommodate these types of race modifications. You can also take your vehicle to a Cobb Certified Pro Tuner and have your engine tune tailored specifically to your modifications.
Dude I want one for my ralliart! 😍
can you install the ap on a car that already has a Cobb map installed but isn't married to an access port
Does it work. On 2017 jmd R35 gtrs and if so does it move the speed limit that's on all jdm vehicles
Why wont the cobb Accessport work on my new 2018 gti MK7.5 , mexican vw since i live in México now?
Just wondering how i get a custom tune for a 335i here in Australia as no one near me is an authorized cobb tuner
where in australia are you?
Canberra
+Xan Millar yeah you're gona have to come to sydney
***** gathered :(
+Xan Millar I'm getting a custom protune soon. Croydon Racing Developments in Rydalmere, Sydney. $1250.
hello i wonder if i need to tune on my accesport if i install the cobb solenoid on my sti 2014
we have only octan 95 and 98 in dubai so what should I do to tune it on 98
you can download "maps" from cobb which are specially made for your need
@@LunasLostLove thank you.. I already talked to them and they said our 93 is equivalent to the middle east 98. what do you think??
@@UAE111 i'd listen to them i have no idea
@@LunasLostLove will do then.. thank you by the way
If you revert back to stock tune before taking car to the dealer, will the dealer know the ECU has been tampered with?
Sam Aragon no
How do you edit the tune names? I want to get the previous owners name off mine
Could I use the same access port on 2 different cars?
Yes you can use an AP on more then one car, however its limited to one car at a time. After you flash a vehicle, the AP becomes VIN locked to that vehicle. You can un-pair the AP when you plan to sell it to someone else, but you can not run two vehicles off one AP at a time.
I own a Subaru, if I tune it and then buy a newer Subaru, am I forced to buy another Accessport?
If I buy a brand new accessport, do I need to update it or can I plug and play
Yes it is recommended to check for the latest update on your accessport. Generally we always send it with the latest update, however you should always check for it just in case.
Can I use the access port to monitor the boost and afr, instead of the traditional gauges. And how accurate is the reading for the access port.
You can run up to 6 simultaneous gauges on the COBB AP V3 at any given time. Yes, it can be set to read boost and AFR. Reads are off OBDII so fairly accurate.
Can you change boost levels?
What if the valet changes the tune from valet mode 🤔
This would only be possible if you left your accessport hard-wired to your vehicle in reach of the driver (and they know how to re-flash the ECU with a different map)
The valet mode is an entire non-performance map you flash onto the ecu. So you'd flash it to valet mode, and take the access port with you in your pocket. No way for your valet to change the tune w/o it.
Flashing from one map to another takes 5-10 minutes. No one will take the time to do this each time they valet their car.
@@RobertLeBlancPhoto in my speed 3 changing between tunes only takes about 1 min
Can I use stage 2 aggressive map with 92 octane gas here in seattle?
Why do they make it seem like you can just switch maps on the fly? For instance, if you want to switch to "valet mode", you have to turn the engine off and go through the install process which is about 20 minutes. Not complicated, just not as simple as hitting a switch when you pull up to a valet.
definitely doesn't take 20 minutes... about 4 minutes in between flashes
u have the answer for me.
I have wrx 16 and have install manaflow exchust and just bought Cobb accessport..what map should I run? Pls need help..thanks
jason M probably a stage 1 map. 91 octane (gas fuel).
Fo you guys have it for a nissan 350z
Just bought a 07 wrx with vf43 turbo, exhaust, cobb intake and an access port... it says not logging. I have no clue what to do with this thing.
I would do more research on it or get with a local credible tuner shop to show you before you use it just to be safe. Take care bud
Well the guy I bought it from had it tuned said everything was the way it should be. My question is if that's the case should I have to mess with it unless I add anything to the car engine wise. Or should I just be able to.leave it the way it is and be fine
Could I do stage one if I had cold air intake and straight pipe exhaust or would I have to tune it another way
Stage 1 is intended for stock cars and does not require any other additional mods for most vehicle applications so you'd be good to go! Additional mods will be required to run higher maps such as Stage 1+, 2, 2+, etc.
How much does it cost and can you ship to Kenya?
If i already reflash my ecu with ecutek, do you think it is ok with cobb accesport? I mean does the ecu back to normal when i plugged in the accesport? Or my ecutek is still on my ecu?
When ever you reflash the ECU, it completely wipes and replaces its content with what ever your flashing it too.
You WONT need to go back to stock first and then reflash with the AP.
i.e. if you car already had a tune in the ECUs memory, any time you plug in a new tuner it will replace the old tune that was previously installed.
If the basic map on the AP doesn’t have the option that i need, how to make a protune? I mean my down pipe and exhaust are from Ark Design and my open filter is from HKS. My car is subaru GVF Sti.
+ModBargains hi sir, what if I have a custom tune on my car before buying the AP and I need to save it? can I download it to my AP to flash it when needed? thx
Selling mine for 500$ or best offer! Need it gone since I switched to MHD!
Jose Miguel G got it?
Worked as a valet for 3 years........never did I ever see a valet doing donuts. Very offensive to guys just doing a job
BC Neil as a parent, i see the value of detuning my car for my son.
Why does some of the front faceplate say Cobb, others say Accessport?
Variations in build date and which mold was used... nothing more.
The user guide says to connect the car to a batter charger for the first tune. Is this necessary?
COBB mentions that mainly as a precaution. It takes a bit longer for the initial ECU back-up and flash of the ECU. If the battery would to die as the car was being re-flashed it could effectively brick the ECU.
This wouldn't happen during a simple flash normally, but say if the car was in the shop for an 8hr install and you left the car 'on' (say during a long install for an exhaust, intake, turbos, and bunch of other components) and then you tried to flash the ECU. Thats where the issue could come up.
just turn your lights and AC off. anything you can turn off and it'll be fine
Does it work for the g37
Don't believe they make it for the G37 as of now.
There’s many documented instances of the AP bricking ECUs, and Cobb has had to ship out replacement ECUs to stranded customers.
Give me HP and TQ gains instead of "significant gains" ffs
It's pronounced por sha
Warning: Cobb OTS maps are terrible, and even sometimes damaging to your engine.
Robert LeBlanc .....there is always someone like u in the comments show me the proof to back up your bias claims?
Been There Done That
There’s plenty of proof for anyone who cares to do a modicum of research.
There’s always someone like you in the comments who wants others to hold their hand and do their work for them.
I’m running the Cobb stage 1 tune on my Focus st. Literally every parameter is running safer than the stock tune was when I was monitoring it.
jb4 is better
There are many pros & cons for both. Physically, both systems are very different, with the JB4 being an Advanced Piggy-Back system and COBB AP being a direct re-flash module.
...
JB4s offer steering wheel controls for tunes, though their current JB4 line up is exclusive to select models of BMWs, VWs, and now the Infinity Q50/Q60. COBB on the other hand offers a wider range of vehicles including many Subaru and Porsche models in addition to VWs, BMWs, GT-R, and many turbo Fords.
...
Peek and power curve gains are all down to the individual tunes, and the COBB offers full custom tune options for those wanting the maximum power for their specific engine setup and specification. So really it all comes down to customer choice.
JB4 can be uninstalled without the manufacturer knowing, since everything it does is after the ECU and it doesn’t require the ECU be flashed. If the manufacturer of your car has a flash counter on the ECU, like VW/Audi and many others, they’ll be able to tell that you flashed your ECU with an unauthorized tune even if you unmarry the Access Port and they will deny any drivetrain warranty claims. Ask my old Evo X about it.
This screams a paid promotion, I've not watched any of this channel before..
Lol Cube we've never gotten paid by any of these companies to make these videos. We carry most of these products, however on occasion some stuff reviewed has been dropped actually from what we might offer. We do other types of videos as well. Check out the channel if you have the time. Thank you for watching
Does dbrand sell skins for it?
