    It takes a big man to admit when they are wrong. Many people have made mistakes with pets, and I admire you that you realized your mistake and rehomed your pup while he was still young and able to be adopted by another family. Since you never raised a puppy, you didn't know what you didn't know. They are a lot of work and way more needy than a cat.

    Eric, I put the same exact fridge in my camper 2 months ago and it works great. One thing, it does have a defrost cycle that runs 175 watts and uses 7 ah when it runs. One trick I found was if I shut it off for 1 minute at around 6-630 am that by noon time, the defrost cycle runs then so you don’t have to waste any battery overnight to defrost it.
    Second thing, don’t run it warmer than mid way on then adjustment for the temperature, keeps the fridge from 38 to 43 and the freezer at -5 to 2 degrees.
    Good luck with it and thanks for the great videos!

    • @jerryparker3446
      @jerryparker3446 Рік тому

      Is that 7ah with defrosting or while running? I’m curious about the draw while cooling and how much of the day it actually runs. Sounds like a great fridge.

    • @Jim.D
      @Jim.D Рік тому +3

      @@jerryparker3446 it typically uses 30 ah overnight (with my 90+ efficient inverter) but use’s about 37ah if a defrost cycle occurs, that is for an average night lasting 11 hours. That is why I learned the trick that forced a defrost cycle 6 hours after a power event.

    • @steves3688
      @steves3688 Рік тому

      @@Jim.D So do you just use 120v timer for the off and on shutoff?

    • @Jim.D
      @Jim.D Рік тому +2

      @@steves3688 I did at first but my idle usage doubled from 7 watts to 14 watts. Now when I wake up, I just shut off my inverter for a minute, done.
      Remember, this is not foolproof and at times when the fridge runs for longer periods of time when the outside temperature is excessive you may have a defrost cycle run overnight, but don’t worry, just power cycle it for a minute in the morning and it should return to the “ no defrost “ overnight again, but on those days usually you have enough power to spare.

    Since comments were turned off on your most recent video about tig. Just one let you know I understand dogs are a whole different world compared to cats. They need a whole lot more attention and time. I have friends that lock their dogs in cages while they go to work and I can't stand that. Thank you for giving Tig better life.

    Eric I hope you're hanging in there. Be kind to yourself... you did what was best for you, Tig and the kitties. Be proud of the decision you made... it was a brave one. I have tried many rescue pups and I couldn't do it either. I'm perfectly happy being the auntie to pups that I meet along the way on the road. It gives me my dog time and yet... there's no pressure to be the sole owner of a dog (for now until the time is right). Be well Tig... and I'm happy to hear that you found him a great new home !

      As someone who have 2 cats and had dogs prior, really couldn't see this situation working out solo in a small space.
      Well now he knows, and other people watching may learn too, so in a way he probably did more good than "harm".
      Even though I understand he probably feels bad about it for the moment.

    Eric, when you run the Window A/C you can put a 20" Box fan, from Walmart in front of the unit and let it blow away from the A/C. It will keep the compress from cutting off and on so much, and increase the amount of area you can cool. We do this all the time and we can cool twice the amount of area. Good luck my friend 🙂

    Eric, you gotta understand we've got to have rain In order to live, the animals the plants. I mean, it's something you've got to accept. We tend to forget the wildlife Because here we are in our homes comfortably with bottled water And it's like I'm fine, so your mind doesn't take you to wait a minute There's other creatures that need to have water To sustain life, and that's from the rain, They can't go in a store and get a couple 24 packs of water to take with them They rely on what comes from the sky. Yes, flooding is not good and I know That's a major problem These days, but we still need the rain. I know you know all this but you've got to remind yourself of the big picture Rain is life.

    Hey, don't listen to the haters over on Instagram anywhere else. You found a good home for Tig I don't see a problem with it at all. House training a dog in a house with a backyard can be a nightmare. Had a dog once could not get him to stop marking everything. He would use the dog door go outside he just had a bad habit of leg lifting marking everything. We had him trained professional trainers said this dog is a high energy 30 lbs Rat Terrier they were bred for catching rats on a farm dogs kept outside. We just held off on remodeling our home because he would just ruin it. He passed after 16 years last year now we are in the process of gutting the inside. I still miss him he was such a smart and loving dog as soon as you turned away, he left the leg give something a squirt.

I've already made up my mind that I will never again have a pet. Not even a hamster. You only had a tiny 3 foot square area for Tig to romp in. You often need to drive long stretches which isn't good for a dog. So much more I could add but you absolutely did the right thing. Tig will always be loved by us viewers. Blessings friend.

    That's a nice fridge. Sure uses less juice, that's great 👍. Good CVK can do the haul off of the old one. Good of Ethan to assist. Nice kids. I knew the pets would come together, just takes a lil time. Cats usually make the rules, lol. 🙂👍

    You will love not needing propane for the fridge. I live off grid in New England. When I had a propane fridge the only time I could have ice cream was in the winter. The freezer wouldn't keep the food frozen in the summer. Now that we have a power station and solar, we have a small electric fridge. Couldn't be happier!

    I installed the exact same fridge in my RV when the stock one died. It has worked well for about 10 years now.

    🇺🇸Hey, Eric&Kittys&Pup;
    I hope that you remembered, to put Teflon tape, on the threads, of the propane fitting that you capped or else it will leak gas.
    GOD Bless

    For some nomads, a twelve volt Fridge is a reliable option. It is always to the person when it come to buying a new fridge. So for some campers, a twelve volt is the ideal choice for them.
    You have a lot of friends who are willing to help you. For Amazon, it has simply made a mistake with your first fridge. At least, Amazon is being honest. For it want you to continue to be a customer. Since you are ready for a road trip, you may want to check out the loneliest road in America. US 50 in Nevada.

    Did you goto the Dispo without me? SEAL THEM GAPS BROTHER. Stuff insulation all around the fridge to keep the heat out of the cabin of the RV.
