Eric please don’t feel bad about Tig. I totally agree with your video about Tig. It’s a lot of responsibility. Your explanation was perfectly understandable. Please do not worry about what other people think . You did what was best for both of you.
As a single father with 2 kids in elementary, you have no idea! Gotta buy cloths, shoes, backpacks etc. Wake up everyday at 6;am to take them to school.
They warned you. You would get tired of Tig.
So, did you dumped Tig already?
Yeah dude. He just posted a video and threatened the ban hammer but then knew he was going to get blasted so he turned the comments off.
I saw this dude once at Daytona, he is right. The dog is better off
It takes a big man to admit when they are wrong. Many people have made mistakes with pets, and I admire you that you realized your mistake and rehomed your pup while he was still young and able to be adopted by another family. Since you never raised a puppy, you didn't know what you didn't know. They are a lot of work and way more needy than a cat.
I think Eric is slowly turning into an animal everytime i see him he accumulates more hair on his hat and shirts , Dude needs a lint roller sponsor asap.
He is nasty! The RV is GROSS
Rehomed the puppy
@@kathystreet8441 really he got rid of him puppy . Why ?
Eric, I put the same exact fridge in my camper 2 months ago and it works great. One thing, it does have a defrost cycle that runs 175 watts and uses 7 ah when it runs. One trick I found was if I shut it off for 1 minute at around 6-630 am that by noon time, the defrost cycle runs then so you don’t have to waste any battery overnight to defrost it.
Second thing, don’t run it warmer than mid way on then adjustment for the temperature, keeps the fridge from 38 to 43 and the freezer at -5 to 2 degrees.
Good luck with it and thanks for the great videos!
Is that 7ah with defrosting or while running? I’m curious about the draw while cooling and how much of the day it actually runs. Sounds like a great fridge.
@@jerryparker3446 it typically uses 30 ah overnight (with my 90+ efficient inverter) but use’s about 37ah if a defrost cycle occurs, that is for an average night lasting 11 hours. That is why I learned the trick that forced a defrost cycle 6 hours after a power event.
@@Jim.D So do you just use 120v timer for the off and on shutoff?
@@steves3688 I did at first but my idle usage doubled from 7 watts to 14 watts. Now when I wake up, I just shut off my inverter for a minute, done.
Remember, this is not foolproof and at times when the fridge runs for longer periods of time when the outside temperature is excessive you may have a defrost cycle run overnight, but don’t worry, just power cycle it for a minute in the morning and it should return to the “ no defrost “ overnight again, but on those days usually you have enough power to spare.
Since comments were turned off on your most recent video about tig. Just one let you know I understand dogs are a whole different world compared to cats. They need a whole lot more attention and time. I have friends that lock their dogs in cages while they go to work and I can't stand that. Thank you for giving Tig better life.
Eric I hope you're hanging in there. Be kind to yourself... you did what was best for you, Tig and the kitties. Be proud of the decision you made... it was a brave one. I have tried many rescue pups and I couldn't do it either. I'm perfectly happy being the auntie to pups that I meet along the way on the road. It gives me my dog time and yet... there's no pressure to be the sole owner of a dog (for now until the time is right). Be well Tig... and I'm happy to hear that you found him a great new home !
As someone who have 2 cats and had dogs prior, really couldn't see this situation working out solo in a small space.
Well now he knows, and other people watching may learn too, so in a way he probably did more good than "harm".
Even though I understand he probably feels bad about it for the moment.
Eric, when you run the Window A/C you can put a 20" Box fan, from Walmart in front of the unit and let it blow away from the A/C. It will keep the compress from cutting off and on so much, and increase the amount of area you can cool. We do this all the time and we can cool twice the amount of area. Good luck my friend 🙂
Eric, you gotta understand we've got to have rain In order to live, the animals the plants. I mean, it's something you've got to accept. We tend to forget the wildlife Because here we are in our homes comfortably with bottled water And it's like I'm fine, so your mind doesn't take you to wait a minute There's other creatures that need to have water To sustain life, and that's from the rain, They can't go in a store and get a couple 24 packs of water to take with them They rely on what comes from the sky. Yes, flooding is not good and I know That's a major problem These days, but we still need the rain. I know you know all this but you've got to remind yourself of the big picture Rain is life.
What a beautiful fridge! So much room and now no worries about the old one! Be safe traveling!😊
Getting Tig was a impulsive move..I hope you didn't dump him in a shelter?
Your new frig is very nice, quite large. Get yourself a rain barrel to capture the rain when it hits. Glad to see Opie and Tara and they are all getting along with Tig. Hugs!
We put in a Magic chef in our previous RV. Worked fantastic. I took some foam board and taped it on the inside of the side and roof vent. I made sure I could still open the side vent if I needed but got an amazing reduction in heat to the inside of the RV. Love all of your adventures including your property developments.
I installed a the Vissani fridge as a replacement in my class c. When I sold the RV two years later, the Vissani fridge was still going strong. Loved it!
Our camper is a 1998 and we replaced ours with a house refrigerator. My electric bill was about 50.00 and this month my electric bill was 1.26!!
My frig is 23 years old. I was fortunate when the cooling unit went out a few years ago all I had to do is replace it - much cheaper than a new one. Tig is sure getting big!
My class c is a 1992 I did the same thing. Replaced the cooling unit for 400 works awesome
Good luck tig . Your much better off without this guy!
Eric is single handedly keeping the L-bracket business afloat.
You should put that a/c on a slider shelf and a panel for the outside. Then, when needed, you can remove the outside panel and slide the a/c outside for use. Just a suggestion...
Oh my Tig....got so much bigger!
We installed the exact fridge you bought in our 5th wheel 4 months ago. Got it at Home Depot. We have the black front, not the stainless. We love it and we always hated that Domectic absorption RV fridge. They are junk when it’s hot outside. Vissani is made by Magic Chef. So in a way, you got your Magic Chef fridge. 😉
I didn't know that! Good to hear though!
Hey, don't listen to the haters over on Instagram anywhere else. You found a good home for Tig I don't see a problem with it at all. House training a dog in a house with a backyard can be a nightmare. Had a dog once could not get him to stop marking everything. He would use the dog door go outside he just had a bad habit of leg lifting marking everything. We had him trained professional trainers said this dog is a high energy 30 lbs Rat Terrier they were bred for catching rats on a farm dogs kept outside. We just held off on remodeling our home because he would just ruin it. He passed after 16 years last year now we are in the process of gutting the inside. I still miss him he was such a smart and loving dog as soon as you turned away, he left the leg give something a squirt.
Glad to see you got a great fridge. Much better than before, and the kitties love the vent and hideaway. You are making off grid living look easy.
My frig just died in my camper. Replaced with 12volt DC frig. Much cheaper than the Propane/electric cools much better at temp in 1hr instead of 12hrs..
Huh, call that rain lol, we've had five weeks of non stop rain in the UK.
You did the right thing. Never ever let someone shame you for doing what's best. I love my lil fur baby like he is my child. But even at 7 yrs old it's like having a toddler with you 24/7. I've already made up my mind that I will never again have a pet. Not even a hamster. You only had a tiny 3 foot square area for Tig to romp in. You often need to drive long stretches which isn't good for a dog. So much more I could add but you absolutely did the right thing. Tig will always be loved by us viewers. Blessings friend.
Rip Tig…..
Funny I was just talking to an RV tech about my RV fridge and replacing it, he said just put in a residential fridge and inverter! He said to tell you a secret most RV manufactures are going that way anyway now...
The right thing, is always the right thing.....❤🐕
I’ve heard of Vissani. It’s Disani’s brother. Both born in Italy. Nice boys.
Eric: many years ago, we brought a Yorkie puppy into our home. However, my wife and I worked long hours, and we eventually re-homed Kirby with my in-laws. One: we made a mistake, and everyone does. And two, we rectified our mistake by finding a good home.....just like you did. You admitted your mistake; now give yourself the same mercy you would give a friend. Safe travels.
There are no mistakes only lessons. Everything happens for a reason. You did your best. And was thinking of Tig and what was Best for him. That's very brave. Your videos have helped me alot since my accident I'm getting treatments to walk again. And the videos give me reason to keep working on walking again. So one day I can go see some of the places you have shared with us. Sending Angel Blessings. From Caroline Frederick The Spirit Helper
Oh Eric! How lovely to see all three of your companions together with you!
I think it’s time you cover up the rammstein tattoo
he is not a liberal, no need to
My 17 year old propane domestic fridge slowly died over a year then conked out. I got a new one for $1600 and it works perfectly for the past 3 years. I never use electric. The secret is to always keep your rig parked less than 3 degrees slope and less than 6 degrees side to side. But I wish it was a bit bigger.
Glad the relief of rain came, I won't worry about your property companion rat catcher snake being thirsty.
Because of you, Eric, I have gotten products you have tried out that I would never have purchased, or even thought of!
2.5k for a mini fridge nope I'm not the guy blahah so good.. it took me one month also to get my pitbull and tabby use to eachother
You did well Eric. It's all good.
Hey, as long as you found a home for him, no harm.
We have a Vissani freezer/refrigerator (it can be either depending on the temperature setting . It has worked great for 2 years in our barndo shop. Good luck!
Have not read all the comments so don't know if anyone already suggested this little safety hack.. A piece of "Foam Pool Noodle" slipped over the propane tubing will prevent rattling noise and dampen road vibration that could possiblly causing a crack in the tubing... just a thought...
Eric....that pink stuff is fiberglass and I do not think it it good for your kitties. The fiberglass is so fine and shredded it could get intended in their tongue or eyes. If it gets in your clothes or bed big problems.....
It's okay Eric, your bad decisions are the spice of this channel. Like getting Tara, I don't think Jax took it too well.
I bought a Vissani chest freezer for my house. I've only had it a month but it is really quiet, I can not hear it at all.
It's been 4 days, where r u? 😂
Eric, I used to love your channel. You showed me new things and places to go
But now your channel is not entertaining and is only about your problems and stuff you bought and soon after sold . The question is when are you going to get back to the old you ? Go places and share your experiences with the world. I think your viewers will appreciate it. You will find out that people's would be more interested in your channel. I think you will do much better. This is just words of encouragement and not criticism. We miss the old nomadic fanatic.
That fridge fits perfectly. Now for my 2cents: where you capped off the propane behind the fridge, for a little additional safety, just zip tie a little bit of something between the fridge and that pipe. Maybe a piece of old bike tire tube.
Another project for your property would be a water collection system off of the blue box. That way you can take a vantage of all of that water that gets dumped from a thunderstorm.
You said you're taking a trip back East tomorrow. Did we miss where you got your bad alternator replaced and permanently fixed? Hope all goes well for you and your beautiful furbabies on your upcoming travel adventure.
Eric, big respect to you. It must have been a hard decision to make to re-home Tig but I can imagine you've found the perfect home where he'll have a a great life. It's a lot harder for young dogs to be on the road and you have done the best thing to quickly realise that it wasn't ideal for all of you... Don't beat yourself up too much man. You did the right thing. 🙌
All the animals seem to be getting along just fine. I love your new fridge.
I’ve actually had a couple different Vissani fridge/freezer units. They’ve all been super great for me. I actually just sold the 7.1 CU FT one that I had, after owning it for about three years, because I’m upgrading to a chest freezer.
They’ve all been really really quiet when the compressor is running. More quiet than the brand new fridge that is in my current townhouse. And keeping the thing cold has never been a problem.
Tig has gotten so big already!
It's worth noting that not all refrigerators can be screwed through the side like the one in this video. You could inadvertently run a screw through a condenser line.
Looked like Someone took issue with your weather related commentary. 😇🙏🤣
Eric, so glad you figured out that having a dog doesn't work for you. You are a cat person as simple as that. There is no need to worry about it. It would only be bad if you kept Tig. Take care, and be safe, pet tge kitties.
Hi Eric! Great to see the kids getting along fills my hart with joy. Great choice with the bigger fridge 12 volt. and 61-63 amps? great!! Thanks for the video my friend. Hang in there and God Bless you all!!
62 watts. I had no idea that modern refrigerators run at such low wattage.
Catch the water. You need another tank :) Am glad Dana & family are there and Homer & Kath.
I would like to say, I learn a lot from your channel! Thanks!❤
Cats have ways to teach good manners to puppies! They’re doing well together. 👍
You need a big arse funnel and guttering system and feed it into your green water tank.
Replaced my Norcold cooling unit 2 months after warranty expired. 8 years later it quit again. I couldn't easily fit a different fridge in the space, so I used JC Refrigeration's cooling unit which uses the same little bowling ball compressor that your new refer uses. No more propane, 66w of power when on, very happy with performance. $950 was much better than $1500 for a Norcold unit. Just another way to solve that problem.
I'm so jealous you got all that rain. We have had dust and wind....but no rain to count. 😢 omg, Tig is growing up so fast.
reroute that copper line and youll have another heater, grill, etc hook up
Hey Eric What a deal man on you solving the ever changing problem with the fridge Thank you To both you and Campervan Kevin on the great idea
Thanks
I wonder how well a residential refrigerator will hold up with all the bumps and road vibrations.?? Good luck.
Being off grid I have the 10.1 magic chef. Uses about 100w. My other local off grid peeps have the same one. Vissani is a good one too. Safe travels
REALLY GOOD IDEA MAN!!! FRIDGE LOCKS PERFECT FOR RUNNING DOWN THE ROAD 👍❤️
Love my Vissani in my toy-hauler ... been enduring the road-life since 2015(EVEN tho the instruction book said NOT to USE in RV's! ) Runs well on my Jackery 1000( boosted by Bouge 40W solar panel on the roof) ...as I'm running down the road /boondocking! Should be a keeper!
Frig looks great. What I didn’t see is a salad mix. Fresh vegetables. Fresh fruits. I know they are on your groceries list. Keep in mind Fresh is Best!!
So glad you finally changed out that and got one of those window ac units that are lower wattage. i know you can't use the window unit while travelling but its most important while sitting still. also the fridge looks great!
Time for some gutters and a raincatch system for collecting rainwater
I'm glad you missed the road can't wait to see you rolling
What happened to the bike and car dolly you got in Florida ??
I had a Trailer Type Camper. I was sitting there 1 day and My Fridge sprang a leak. It was too expensive, so I put a Dorm Fridge instead.
The new fridge looks like it's going to work. Have fun on your trip. Keep the good stuff coming.
I like the new fridge. Looking great.
Oh we had a Vissani at our business for 10 years. We loved it. Hey, hey everyone ❤🖐👋
That's a nice fridge. Sure uses less juice, that's great 👍. Good CVK can do the haul off of the old one. Good of Ethan to assist. Nice kids. I knew the pets would come together, just takes a lil time. Cats usually make the rules, lol. 🙂👍
Thanks! We are getting ready to replace or 20 year old fridge with the same one you bought. ❤
@nomadicfanatic Did I miss it? Did you get additional inverter and batt?
I did get one more battery added to the bank but same Victron inverter.
I even have water catchment in Illinois. You may want to consider it
You did what's best for everyone. That is smiled upon even if it's sad. Don't get discouraged lil bro!! Do you!
You will love not needing propane for the fridge. I live off grid in New England. When I had a propane fridge the only time I could have ice cream was in the winter. The freezer wouldn't keep the food frozen in the summer. Now that we have a power station and solar, we have a small electric fridge. Couldn't be happier!
I installed the exact same fridge in my RV when the stock one died. It has worked well for about 10 years now.
Worried about you. Haven't seen a new video in almost a week. Sending Angels, Caroline Frederick
🇺🇸Hey, Eric&Kittys&Pup;
I hope that you remembered, to put Teflon tape, on the threads, of the propane fitting that you capped or else it will leak gas.
GOD Bless
I think is so cool that the pets are with you. We bring our two pooches us when we go too 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have the same fridge, not in rv, though. Had it for the last 6 years! Enjoy yours. Been watching you for over 5 years.
Thank you Eric for sharing this awesome content
BRO ...THE NEW FRIDGE LOOKS PRETTY SICK!!!!👍👍❤️❤️❤️👍
RV refrigerators use a ammonia base cooling it is specific for RV and they go out party quick
Have had the same exact fridge (in black) in my RV full time for a bit over a year now. No complaints.
For some nomads, a twelve volt Fridge is a reliable option. It is always to the person when it come to buying a new fridge. So for some campers, a twelve volt is the ideal choice for them.
You have a lot of friends who are willing to help you. For Amazon, it has simply made a mistake with your first fridge. At least, Amazon is being honest. For it want you to continue to be a customer. Since you are ready for a road trip, you may want to check out the loneliest road in America. US 50 in Nevada.
Did you goto the Dispo without me? SEAL THEM GAPS BROTHER. Stuff insulation all around the fridge to keep the heat out of the cabin of the RV.
Way to go Opie and Tara! I knew they’d come around, even faster than I thought! Glad the rain finally showed up! Hope it starts showing it’s ugly face a bit more around Phoenix!
We need the rain! It’s sad about the cactus dying.
He rehomed the puppy
@@thiccanimegirl76 why?
@@thiccanimegirl76 why did he?
A puppy takes lots of work. Thank you, Eric, for telling us. It happens to many. I wish we were closer, we've taken pup. All good, my friend. Don't listen to naysayers!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Your Fridge looks very very very Cool 😎 Eric😎😊👍
Your comments were turned off on your latest ideo. Sorry it didn't work out with Tig.
