I sold all of my muzzleloaders when I moved to Texas last year. Maybe I need a new one.
It certainly extends your seasons
This 40 caliber is really interesting, the "sabot" is modernized greatly. They look like they have a way better BC, easy to see they are good at longer range
I was surprised how gentle they were to shoot. My buddy was hesitant to shoot it with a recent shoulder surgery but he said it was fine
Those muzzleloaders are wicked. I really like the rimfires....seems like an economical way to keep your skills up.
The PRS rimfire game is getting a strong foothold
Well done. Good stuff. Interestingly, I have been more negative than positive toward muzzleloaders. But these advancements and offerings actually have peaked my interest & excited me to consider them for late season and more. The smokeless offerings are great. Thank you.
Yeah, some states like WA have restrictions like non magnified optics and no electronics for muzzle loader only season, but most states are more progressive.
Sounds like you're lazy. Best stick to modern firearms, you sound like the kind to blow themselves up lol
I have cva wolf v2 and 2 inch groups at 350 yards its amazing
The only difficulty I see at the moment is rife primers are all but impossible to find, shotgun primers are very difficult to find, and most black powders and black powder substitutes are very difficult to source. With the ammo shortages these things are just not being produced like they were a couple years ago. I do love these rifles and if I ever have the opportunity to pick one up I most definitely will
With my 40 htr so far I have shot a 2.625 group @400 yds very very impressive
Just need more projectiles. Come on powerbelt
Nice grouping!
Do you have the muzzle brake?
@@jerimahjohnson8698 not yet
Accurate 👌. I want one
I just picked up a terrain wilderness B-14 in 6.5PRC I can’t wait to shoot it! And if it’s anything like my B-14 ridge I’ll love it!
I’m very interested in that .40 cal muzzle loader!
So wheat! Let us know how you enjoy it!
@@innerbarkoutdoors indeed it’s a shooter! A little heavy if you’re packing around a lot. But an excellent performer.
When you have a forearm that attaches to the barrel, eliminating the ram rod is not free floating the barrel.
*thumbs up*
I have an CVA Apex and it has been a great rifle for me. I'm just curious why it has been discontinued. It is a far better rifle than the wolf!
The sidekick is a pistol I suspect made for states like Missouri that have an “alternative methods” deer season for muzzle loaders and also permits the use of handguns. rather than a strict muzzle loader season. So they put a short action rifle round into a “pistol” platform as sort of a loop hole. Kind of a cheat way of doing things when pertains to actual hunting and legal seasons IMO.
It fits the bill, but honestly I think some engineers were like, "hold my beer"
We’re you using the black horn 209 breach plug with the variflames when shooting the CVA Acura LR-X?
Do you remember what powder charge, by weight or volume, they were using for the LR-X? Tony never said on the Accura or you missed recording it. Thanks!
I don't recall but they used what their manual prescribes. They had all their charges pre-measured before the shoot.
Didn’t say anything about how good the muzzleloader shot
Try shooting a Steyer. They’re excellent.
I've only shot the AUG carbines
👍👍
*thumbs up*
What's the Velocity on the Accura muzzleloader? I'm assuming that was the .45 caliber. Is it also capable of shooting 150 grains of blackhorn?
I am not sure about the velocity of the Acura, but the Paramount's are the only ones capable of handling the magnum charges of blackhorn
Your commentary is always very soothing, but informative, I dub thee the Mr. Rogers* of Rifles.
Mr Rogers is the man. I also love Bobby Ross
@@innerbarkoutdoors Happy trees :D
@@TheBlackB0X LOL!
Where are you getting the brake on the Paramount?
All the for sale things I see don't show a brake?
It might be only available stock on their muzzle loaders. They have brakes for rifle calibers on their site but not for large bore at the moment.
Well shit. I'm sold.
The only hurdle is powder and primers
What optic where they running on the HTR?
Not sure the model, but it was a Leupold with their standard duplex reticle.
good stuff. thx.
Thx for watching!
What type of bullets are y’all using in the accura extreme?
Power belt bullets
I know it’s probably better for accuracy but I don’t think I care for the ram rod not under the barrel for target shooting yes but not for hunting but I’ll probably buy 1 any lol and where’d you get that black horn I’m needing some
I've been looking for blackhorn for a while. It's scarce right now. I see the accuracy stuff as a moral obligation for an effective kill. It's not like we are fighting redcoats on a battlefield where we want fast ramrod access.
I agree I’m just old and stuck in my ways about the ram rod lol just hard for me to except change
I'll stick with m 243 for long range shooting thank you
But that muzzle loader season tho...
Can you use that rifle in organ and Idaho
I'd like to shoot the paramount 40 before I'd buy one I bought a 45 cal knight mountaineer the 45 is bad enough to buy bullets for the 40 will be worse unless cva has a good supply of them. Every one where I live has the 50 cal
Thank you for all you do I've been shooting since I was 8 years old on the farm love to shoot all thanks shot almost orders killing gear for last 30 years I will be buying a paragraph thank you
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for the comment!
Hello! Tell me do u know NBC
No.
Do you know what the actual bore diameter is on the 40 caliber. Wondering if you could smooth size some other 40 caliber projectiles to the Barrel.
I think the issue would be that it would need to be a sabot projectile to get the proper sealing. The bullets they use have a polymer ring that seals during ignition. Perhaps a muzzle loading guru could answer this for you
I’d like to see more on the BMR .22 LR. It looks good especially for a hunting rifle. It does have a match chamber correct???
To my knowledge they are a match chamber, so they might be stubborn with autoloading ammo. My experience has been good this far.
I'm glad they no longer call these primitive weapons they should not be used in states that have separate primitive weapons seasons when you can reach out and touch a deer at 250 to 300 yards nope.
*thumbs up*
Glad to see that some people have primers I can't fine them anywhere
when are they coming out with the varaflame adapter.i cant find any.
GREAT VIDEO..THANKS...RETIRED LARRY...
Si how much do the primers cost.
They keep modernizing muzzle loaders, we’re only going to get more states with more strict regulations pertaining to them, and frankly outlawing many of the newer ones they’re making.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the features of these muzzle loaders. But at what point is it just an overly difficult to load centerfire rifle comparison? They’re getting awfully close to the “feels like cheating” point to me for a muzzle loader season weapon.
Some states like mine (WA) make it so you are stuck in the stone age, so you could really only use the new modern muzzle loaders during the regular rifle season. I'm not sure how it will affect other states, but I think restrictions on limits are more likely than restricting equipment
Big mistake on large rifle primers. As a reloader I know that you can't buy large rifle primers.
Or small rifle primers, or shotshell primers.
@@innerbarkoutdoors I found a good supply of 209 primers and blackhorn powder
I own a muzzle loader pistol and breach loaded rifle - love then both .
What kind of groups were you seeing from the Bergara comp rifle?
We were shooting steel and couldn't check size, but historically their rifles shoot 1/2 to 3/4 moa. The barrel thickness would primarily help with longer and rapid strings of fire and staying on target to watch the bullet impact.
I have 3 bergaras and my Hmr and HMR Pro shoot 1/4 consistently. I was jw if the price was worth it. My HMR was only $1,000.
@@williamhoppes7114 I think if you're the typical shooter that's not competing, the HMR or the HMR pro would be the way to go. But if you are planning on building a more or less custom rifle for use in competition, it makes sense to just buy the competition rifle. You would also be able to stay in the production class versus the open class.
@@williamhoppes7114 I actually just got my HMR pro in 6 mm creedmoor last week and will be competing with it at the end of this month. I will let you all know how it goes
Im not a competition shooter just love shooting. My hmr is a 6mm creedmoor and hmr pro is a 6.5 creedmoor. Let me know how you do! You will love the hmr pro.
I’m looking for a smokeless muzzleloader, with a good value to price ratio, do you have a model you would recommend?
What are the gear limitations for your state? WA makes it very easy to choose since there's only a few that fit the bill 🤷🏻♂️
Do you know if the cascade comes with a Bergara barrel? Excellent video by the way.
I would imagine they are made in the same factory. Don't quote me on that though
