If you missed our video about the Terminator, it's here: ua-cam.com/video/3lFgmBmu5js/v-deo.html
I'm so glad the algorithm pushed ur channel to me today. I've literally just spent like 3 hours binge watching almost every video. It's like a whole channel dedicated to making me love my already favorite movies even more than I did! My 2 favorite directors are Tarantino and Nolan, go do Mike Flannagian movies especially Doctor Sleep! Phenomenal movie, and tons of detailed content to make a video about❤❤❤
Thank you! It’s incredibly flattering to know that someone could spend 3 hours watching our videos and genuinely enjoy them! 😅 We’ll definitely consider covering Mike Flanagan in the future, but for now, we’re focused on continuing the James Cameron story and possibly updating our Nolan series. Stay tuned!
Haha 5:20 I've never seen the full footage before. Newt being compleaty disinterested while the xeno tries its best to be menacing is funny as hell to me.
My favorite thing about Aliens it is direct inspiration for Halo Combat Evolved, character design, weapon design, UNSC ship interior design. Hell, Sgt. Apone is direct inspiration for Sgt Johnson down to the cigar.
Jenette Goldstien's audition as "Vasquez" impressed James Cameron so much he spent weeks fighting the studio who didn't want her because she'd never been in a movie before. That was the first role of her career. And after 10 years she'd appeared in Near Dark, Lethal Weapon 2, Terminator 2: Judgement Day and Titanic. I guess it pays to impress the Cameron.
Lo difícil es lograrlo
A perfect casting. Absolutely nailed the character. I could not imagine anyone else doing it better .
7:29 even Jonesy knew Burke was untrustworthy
Great video, deserves to be seen by all aliens fans
Thank you!
I wouldn't describe the Xenomorph in Alien as "nearly indestructible", it was just elusive and the crew of the Nostromo wasn't even close to equipped to deal with something like it. They barely had a weapon to speak of.
Movie magic is so fascinating. You never know what goes on bts.
Hey man, French Connection II was not an 80's sequel and it's actually pretty frickin' awesome.
Brilliant work. Regards, Hardcore Aliens fan from the land downunder.
Never get enough of this movie 🎥❤🍿
Anyone that claims that women have to have superpowers to be considered badass, just need to see this movie (and the first one of course..). Ripley, Vasquez, Ferro, Dietrich and even Newt for that matter are girls tough as nails but don't need to be Captain Marvel. It's really refreshing.
Great doco on an awesome movie. Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The biggest - _biggest_ crime visited on this masterpiece was the theatrical cut. I hated it. It seemed to be 'marines in space' all of a sudden, almost from the moment that Ripley's revived. There was little to no explanation of why the mission was put together or even how they knew about the damned planet in the first place. I had NO idea what the _real_ film was like, and how badly it had been butchered until they released the DC, but by then the film had some bad reviews for its plot. Thankfully, that's all history now and I'm not sure if the theatrical cut is even offered on streaming/Blu-Ray anymore. I hope not!
Great video m8
Thanks!
Formula for
What happened to James Cameron,I wonder. His directorial career is divided into two distinct eras,in my opinion. Pre-Titanic and post-Titanic.
...or if you like...
...back when he made good films, and the time that's gone by ever since he stopped. Such a waste...
I've never liked any of his films. The first Terminator was the best thing he did, but it does appear he stole the idea.
@@creepingdread88how did he stole the idea?
@@freedomwriter9688 Harlan Ellison sued Cameron over allegedly stealing (due to settling out of court) the idea from an episode of The Outer Limits, which Ellison wrote. Ellison's name is on the film credits, and also received an undisclosed out-of-court settlement. Make of that what you will.
It kills me that he's dedicated the end of his creative life to his blue man anthology that I feel like nobody was asking for 😂
GOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING ... lv426 😂😂😂😂😂
No sound
Yes sound
At the rate movie spacecraft travel, it would take a thousand years to get to our moon. Ripley's "life raft" craft was going 28 mph, apparently in real air.
👍😝
Not a very well-researched docco. Cameron is Canadian (not American). The Shining was filmed at Elstree, not Pinewood Studios.
Oh come on... don't confuse America with US. America is from Canada to Argentina. US is just one of the countries from North America, sharing the continent with Canada and Mexico.
Anyone else bothered by the fact that, they are supposed to be colonial "Marines," but they use Army stripes on their Utility sleeves.... Still love the movie though!
Yes!
No
Sure, THAT'S what makes the movie unrealistic.
Even though they're all loud mouth simpletons, they're not supposed to be US Marines. It's fiction, set in the future, they don't really exist.
Given that the _real_ marines were redcoats on RN ships it's more realistic.
I really like your video, but there was nothing new to me. By showing all the Oscar pictures, you could have easily portrait the Suzanne Benson problem, because this is not known to the majority of the fans.
Ok and
"I am disappointed because I was not the target audience of this video"
Damn, didn't know we had the grand alien lore master here 😂
@@regulator18E Hey let´s do a quiz! 1: What´s the callsign of the Jorden Family´s vehicle? 2. What kind of lucky charm does Ferro have? 3. What are the (inofficial) names of both dropships? 4. Wierszbowski is clearly uncomfortabe with Gorman speech. What does he show him afterwards? 5. Which girls name is on Hudson`s armour?
I would upvote, but it's an AI voice. So, nope.
What are you talking about!? This is not f… AI. You can check the credits and find a voice over artist.
In romulus the face huggers respond to heat and sound how does it find newt and Ripley in a frozen cryo chamber in alien 3 hmmm
Well noted!
Also in Cameron's Aliens there is a facehugger in a glass tube in the laboratory reacting to the humans who have arrived at the laboratory. Thermal vision cannot work if there are physical barriers, including glass.
@@kolokinoclips brilliant, of course, I mean don't get me wrong these things are pretty minor on a whole as the alien franchise is awesome and I've loved it since early childhood but come on, anyone with half a brain can spot these inconsistencies
This and terminator 2 are the best sequels
Definitely
Also in the running - Back to the Future 2, and The Two Towers.
Empire Strikes Back
This watches like a high quality documentary that could have been included in a 4K remaster of the movie. Love the directors that you cover too (absolute legends). I'm looking forward to your next video 🙏
Thanks☺️!
the fact weaver never won the oscar is a travesty
Normally love the channel but the playground music and glib VO - I’m out, awful, 😢
damn, sarge was a real sarge, that helped a lot.
Seen this move a hundred times still amazing ever time
Mid 80:s, what a time to be alive ❤❤❤
Weaver was grossly underpaid in the first movie... but the alien queen in 'Aliens' is the most badass evil looking thing I've ever seen!
Excelente resumen. Saludos desde Perú.
¡Muchas gracias, amigo peruano!
Was interested, but stopped watching because I was bombarded with Ads every 3 minutes. Never watching anything from this channel again and will be requesting to never be recommended anything from this channel. Too bad.
You might be surprised to learn that UA-cam automatically places ads on most channels, including ours. Also, it's 2024-if you don't like ads, you have plenty of options, from free to affordable, to turn them off.
@@kolokinoclips Comment was more of a warning, I know plenty of creators that, somehow, only have ads at the beginning and/end of their videos, some don't even show you any, so don't take it personally, I shouldn't have to take my phone out if my pocket to skip an ad that runs every 3 minutes on a 20-30 min video with what sounds like an AI voice over. You're honestly lucky I even dropped the view and comments. Lol
Well im buggered. Im obsessed with this film and i learned something new today.
Kol Kino Clips, I love Aliens and I love your deep-dive video post too! I really liked the editing and the effects you added, surely it was a lot of work to make this. I/WE appreciate the effort you spent making a proper review, that is actually worthy of a film as awesome as "Aliens".
Oh, thank you so much for your words! It means a lot!
James Cameron really has a monopoly on best movie sequels. Alongside them in the top 3 is The Empire Strikes Back 🙏
Well, don’t forget Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” 😉
@@kolokinoclips Oh that's so true.
That inappropriate cheesy voiceover guy makes this unwatchable. I tried but gave up after 2 minutes.
I think it’s Ai
Superb job Kolo!
Alien 3 - it's not really called Alien raised to the power of three - is only not amazing because ALIEN$ raised expectations to an unrealistic level. Even if an alien had crawled out of Lance Henriksen's bottom, no-one would have rushed to applaud and laud the film, in spite of it not being bad at all, and having a stellar cast who don't get enough to do, sadly. Ah well, what's done is done and then Alien 4 happened...which is another story we won't go into just now, no...
Was Jeanette Goldstein really in Titanic? Hey, who knew?! Near Dark is a gem...Kathryn Bigelow, though, and half of Alien$ too, so maybe not surprising.
Aliens turned what was an atmospheric, well-thought-out, cinematic masterpiece into Rambo for simpletons. Sigourney Weaver was by far the weakest actor in Alien. The bar was very high, but nonetheless, she's not a good enough lead actor. In Aliens, apart from Paul Reiser (played the part perfectly), she's the strongest actor in that film. It's a big drop in overall acting talent, not to mention Cameron, just doesn't have the same eye for detail or originality as Scott. If anyone else was given the script for Alien it would have been a straight to VHS crappy rental, B-Movie, like Dark Star. If Aliens was its own film, with no connection to Alien, it could've been good, along the lines of a better Starship Troopers, but as a follow-up to Alien, it just doesn't work. If any film could have worked well as an Alien sequel, it would have been Pitch Black set in the Alien universe, just with a better cast and Ridley Scott directing, of course.
You sound like you'd easily suck all the fun out of any party. Trust me; you're not remotely close to being as clever as you believe you are. lol! If you think Aliens is "Rambo for simpletons" then your reading comprehension is quite low as there's literally no action whatsoever for the first whole hour. Characters like Bill Paxton's "Hudson" are still being referenced today. Weaver got an Oscar nomination for her performance. Every single detail was supervised by Cameron who used a ton of practical effects to stretch the money spent on this sequel. I strongly recommend you watch the 3.5h documentary on the making of this movie so you can understand the extent just how in the weeds you are with your opinion. I then urge you to know what you're talking about prior to publicly making stupid statements like this in the future. You'll look a hell of a lot less foolish.
