I remember people walking out of the theater when I went to see this movie. I don’t think it’s because they weren’t enjoying it. I just think it went over their heads 😂
I honestly cannot comprehend that. It's not a difficult film to understand since half of it is very entertaining exposition and the other half clearly shows each level of the dream. You just have to pay attention. I guess that's over too many people's heads these days.
For this movie to work, we must "lean into" or more apt, "fall off a cliff" of the Placebo effect working in a shared-dream exactly as the devices and drugs in the real world (the placebo effect not only working in every team member's case, but affecting them all in the same way). Otherwise, this going down and up through levels of dream space isn't possible. We are told the alchemist must go with to customize the drugs once inside each level. However, he isn't shown doing this, and if they did show it, what exactly would that look like? .......Or am I missing something ?

It's not entirely true that Nolan convinced WB to scrap the idea of a 3D conversion. He was intrigued by the idea and had a segment converted as a test, but ultimately decided that the technology was not yet up to par, plus it would be too expensive and would take far too long. Never? “Elliott” Page wasn’t in the movie. She’s not in the credits. Hell, she didn’t even “exist” at the time. Nolan wanted (and cast) Ellen, hence the use of the name. Insisting others refer to her NOW using a name she herself didn’t even go by THEN is ridiculous.
