i think collegehumors new writers aren't even being payed, they're just given soup rations instead of paychecks.
This hits a little too close to home. I home I don't have yet.
I wonder what College Humor pays them though?
HyperdrivePic
HyperdrivePics A*
HyperdrivePics that second sentence has me more confused than a homeless person put under house arrest.
Same, wish I could have a home, reality is apartment only. Urge
"Birthday checks still make a huge difference in my life" XD
You guys are getting birthday checks?
@@Nihilist_Porcupine You don't? Such human rights violations...
This actually hurt lol
Oof
@@TCt83067695 most of us don't. Many of us like college humor, but weren't able to go to college. At 24 I only have gotten like 8 cards with any money in my whole life. Never a check or birthday bonus
I always feed Zach clicks in the end. I feel like a monster if I don't.
And carry him
james wasda LOL
Lol
didnt know people was this stupid
Unknown H Dude, if you're going to insult people's intelligence, at least do it in a grammatically correct way.
Thought this was going be be a video about Zach being a human pillow
that would be kind of awesome
and when you can't sleep he helps you count sheep.
that would be on nigahiga's channel. teehee.
Dr. Sloth funny thing is I thought the same thing
what does that have to do with being a regular person
Bought my first house when I was 21 for $80,000. That same house is now worth $300,000 according to zillow. My parents bought their first house for about $5,000. My grand children will only be able to have a house if they inherit it.
Zach sobbing "I don't have any money" at the end killed me
My ex and I did this IRL once...toured a bunch of million dollar homes on the beach. We acted like we had just come into money and gotten married but really couldn't even afford a hotel and both knew the relationship was failing... I honestly don't know why we did it... but it was entertaining at times. This one old couple took us to dinner, and another let us use their private beach for the evening. People will do some stupid things if they think theres even a chance you're about to hand them a million dollars
good for you guys i love a good weekend at bernies
@@kukachoo42 sometimes its kinda spooky having comments floating around from 7 years ago, but this one was nice to revisit. good memories. thanks for the ping! i havent seen weekend at bernies i'll have to give it a watch now :]
Your first mistake is trying to find a home in California
san diego county, and san bernaghetto county has all of the cheap houses. you can find many houses in the 200-300k range about 40 minutes from the beach in san diego county
Exactly. If you want an affordable in California, you gotta live past the mountains miles away from the major cities. Sucks for you if you have a job in those cities, better get a car with high reliability and efficiency.
Your second mistake is thinking there are homes in California. There are not, there are only foreign assets for Chinese nationals to hide their capital.
aluisious
yep i see that first hand
ManBear Pigg bit of a stretch. I live a little over 50 miles away from San Francisco and theres plenty of nice well priced homes. (in comparison to other parts)
It's nice to know that it's not just me who looks on real estate sites at houses I can't afford...
For what it's worth coming from a former real estate agent, Zillow prices are super inflated. They are no where near the actual list price of a home.
+NoNsEnSe321 looking up the actual prices would make you even more depressed.
I've never done that, but I used to go to open houses that I couldn't afford.
Lol... I do the same :(
I do the same, still no luck. Maybe in 20 year's.
Is this sponsored by Zillow?
Doge Why in God's name would Zillow want to sponsor something making fun of them?
FlamingMooseGod So then people would go download it and possibly actually like it. Happens often.
It's not sponsored
Of course it's sponsored. They'll get a lot of traffic today.
Probably. Notice around 0:38 where they've put an Illuminati post-it over the computer logo. That computer brand didn't sponsor the video, so it didn't even get a mention.
Still, it's kinda necessary to mention the app in order to make the joke here.
This is like browsing Tinder.
Angreh Kittunz +
perfect!
Sad part is the prices they showed as "unreasonable" in this skit are not even close to how expensive a basic starter house in my area is. Sucks.
San Francisco?
Vancouver?
A decent starter home in Seattle will hit around $650K if you're willing to live outside of town.
K.Louis
ding ding ding! Unfortunately, yes.
meanwhile, I'm trying to scrape pennies to afford a 35k house here... over 100k is considered expensive, and over 50k is out of my price range. problem is, lenders won't give out mortgages for less than 50k so I'm basically screwed.
"When you finally find that perfect home, ya know, the one that's still an ungodly amount of money but still somehow lands in a fake price you deemed reasonable" that's too accurate 😂
I like to go in reverse and check the cheapest places that technically qualify as houses. "Hey, this one's so far in isolation it's hilarious that anyone built it!"
"This one's free if you move the entire house to another lot!"
"This looks EXACTLY like that one building from a recurring nightmare of mine!"
“I don’t have any money” at the end 😭😭
You guys are supposed to make me laugh. Not go into depression. #Suicidal2016
why would you not?
I asked you first.
Stupid The Hedgehog You didn't ask me, you asked the OP. But I asked you
Sorry, I thought you were the other guy.
what's the difference?
every time there is a video about the expensive housing market, here comes everyone from middle America talking about how they bought their house for $60k when they were 20.
Move out of the city and housing becomes far cheaper.
no thank you, everytime I get too far outside of the city I start seeing Trump signs.
I don't see any signs. I also don't have neighbors. Huge plus.
That and the comments about how millennials should get one of those six figures jobs "in the trades," that doesn't actually exist.
Colin Keesee As far as I can tell. My best chance at making any money by the time I’m 30 is to just become REALLY good at hacking and try to get a job doing that. Anything else would have to play out like a Disney movie and I’d need to be the protagonist.
Didn't you all listen to Adam? Renting is the way to go!
Not if rent cost is really high, which is the case in california.
Renting is great, once you retire you can still rent with all those sweet Social Security dollars.
So is the quality of life. If I wanted a low cost of living in exchange for breathing diesel fumes, I'd just live on the street in SF.
+Subporter
Relatively low compared to where? Hollywood?
yeaaahhh. noooo.... lol did u know its actually cheaper in the long run to put a large downpayment on a house and just pay it off. so much cheaper than rent here in cali. if you're looking for a 2 bedroom rental with a garage or some kind of storage space. youre looking at anything from 1400-2300/month.
and the 1400 is if u find a place im the ghetto. lol
I have to laugh to keep from crying about the crippling economy and the fact that I'll probably never be in a position to own a new car, let alone my own home.
you gotta think big to achieve big
Depends on the area really. Where I live, it's more expensive to rent than own a home. Monthly rent average (and by average I mean anywhere that won't get you shot at night) is about $900 at the lowest end. Whereas an average home in my city (again, somewhere you won't get shot at night) is about $700 a month in mortgage, add in property tax and insurance, that's about the same price as renting.
So it really depends where you live. In some parts of the country you can get 2500+ sq ft for less than $400 a month!
Sure you can. My four year old car (bought brand new in 2012) is about to be completely paid for. Make sure your credit is good and the rest is easy.
Living below the poverty line kinda negates most of these comments. Js.
K Kobi I should have clarified "a car that isn't totaled." lol I'm fine with used vehicles, but being poor means getting the jalopy that breaks in 6mo-2yrs.
DeeDee Doozle You're not doing it right. Move closer to work and take the bus while also working on your credit for a year or two. Save for another year and get pre-qualified then get a small condo. It's possible to get great credit history and a mortgage with even minimum wage.
Zach crying at the end "I don't have any money" I'm just like "I feel ya bro"
its a damn shame that this is so true. can you imagine a world where we millennials were paid enough to (not only survive) live comfortably and afford the american dream that we and our families should be allowed to have?..
Rainswept Flower The American dream is a huge strategy created by the wealthy and he government to convince people to vote in favor of the rich. Because if I'm rich someday then I will appreciate the lower taxes, even though I cannot even get medical care right now because of the lower taxes for the rich. What a great idea!
If you think you're going to graduate college and have the full blown American dream the following year, you're setting you're expectations to high. I'm 34, 2 cars paid off, a third on it's way, own a home I found on zillow that will soon be paid off, no debt outside of that and I don't even have a college degree. Don't let your expectations for the now ruin what can be in the later. FrostyWolfZ's ideology usually leads to the end of a bread line.
Or, ya know, more Millennials could go to school for jobs that actually exist, and are in demand, so they'd actually make money? Instead of getting some art degree that costs a ridiculous amount of money but will never get you a real job.
What are those jobs exactly?
DegrassiTop40 everything from skilled labor, logistics, management, engineering, you know, jobs that actually contribute to society. Just have to learn about each field individually, specifically how big of a demand is there so you know if you'll be able to get a job in that field.
Guys, Adam ruins everything said to rent
He said that buying a home isn't viable for most people and you shouldn't do it if you don't have the money. Which most people don't.
He's also still living with his sister lol
If he told you that breathing was an old fashioned and outdated idea brought to us from the dark and dangerous puritans and that all the cool cats these days just held their breath, would you do it?
BioWolfProduuctions
Would he tell you to do that?
BioWolfProduuctions I have a feeling he'd have a hard time finding a good reputable source as to why breathing is a bad idea
This reminds me in 10th grade my best friend and I would call hotels overseas to ask what the prices were and we’d say “that’s not that bad” even though we had no money and obviously no intention of actually going overseas alone @ 16 years old
SNL just stole this for their skit....
My friend and I were actually looking through Zillow for rental places so we could live together during a gap year between high school and college... We ended up writing it off as a lost cause.
I love how they had the guy eating cup Ramen noodles to put more emphasis on that he's broke as hell
This is sad, I wish we lived in a different kind of world. Everyone deserves a nice home.
The video was a joke.
@@PancakeTheKat it isn’t. Housing is getting ridiculously expensive everywhere in the world. Most people my age will never own a house.
@@dirgmario Yeah, and it doesn't help that Biden is increasing taxes, especially when it's going to immigrants meaning anyone could come to America claim their money and leave.
I can't even afford a $ 30k house at age 45 what did I do wrong I been working since 16?!
What career?
maybe working the same job since you were sixteen is the problem
Sexy Mexican69 your name says it all, sir.
I just bought a $25,000 house from a hoarder. After 2 years of work it is now livable. Never could I ever afford ANY of the houses they were looking at haha.
looking at your name you have actually chosen for yourself: a lot
So is every video that grants in going to be about being poor?
projecting
exactly like how every video Katie is in is about drugs
Since their target audience is 18-30 year olds who spend their free time online, yes probably
every comic does a bit on being broke anyway.
The egg or gay yes.
anyone back after the snl bit?
3 years before snl satire

plot twist: reverse phycology to make you buy a zillow home
maybe... this seemed a lot like an ad
I thought it was just a made up brand lol
It is supposed to be an ad that looks like a joke. And it's so fucking obvious, I'm amazed by your ignorance people.
in related news, don't like this comment
if it was an ad they would HAVE to say that it was sponsored BY LAW or they would be in deep shit, and guess what, they didnt, not even in the description, so its not sponsored
How the fuck am i supposed to get a million
duh, just take up a small loan..
TheMainnj rip living my entire life in debt
Tha'ts how majority of people do it. Once you split it among two people plus take into account 30 years of repaiment's it's really not impossible.
It's called a mortgage. You just need a down payment of $100,000 then you pay $5,000-$6000 a month for 30 years. Enjoy!
LOL, yeah. You just need a downpayment that was the entire cost of the house our parents bought. And they still act like they were toughing it out.
*Buys a house* "I'm never gonna financially recover from this."
Yup so true.Stop window shopping people
Don't tell me what to do dick face.
Y'all accept EBT ? Thank you.
Night Rider let me live.
I'm not window shopping, im house shopping
OMG I'm dying. I thought it was just me. I look at houses all day that I can't afford, nor will ever get. people have more in common than they know.
I SPEND SO MUCH TIME ON ZILLOW FINDING MY PERFECT HOUSE FOR IF I EVER AM A MILLIONAIRE
This is. So relevant. Right now…holy crap. Been looking for houses for the last 2 months. Found 1 I wanted to make an offer on and lost it to a bid that was 25k over asking price. Probably some investment firm or some such…everything else is either 2 million or 100k, in need of another 100k of repairs.
You never truly stop with Zillow. We found our house on Zillow. Now? I monitor our Zestimate.
Zesty
Once you lose your childhood home, all the rest are just places you sleep. My Zestimate is $112,000 more than I paid for 8 years ago. Guess who has 2 thumbs, is moving into a home that cost the same as I paid 8 years ago, and with no HOA, and a bigger yard?
Greenville Belle I found my home with Zillow. Now I just gotta find a way to get that family outta there and it'll be all mine
grinc333 HA!
grinc333 is there an app for that?
I just stopped scrolling on Zillow to open youtube and this was the first video my feed showed me. A real wake up call.
Oh man, I thought it was just me. I'm 31 years old and I still live with roommates.
This video makes me want to cry.
So fucking true. Overeducated and underpaid all day son.
SeriousYelder should’ve chosen a career that pays well with all those book smarts lol
"Not even in 10 years"
He's talking about the down payment, right?
This one hit home. Spent hours for quite awhile after getting a raise looking at homes i'd want to get and working out payments and seeing how much i'd have to work to afford them.
These are the type of people who are willing to find a Minecraft UA-camrs address
It's weird remembering this sketch did well enough for SNL to rip it off.
You have to go to someplace like Arizona, where houses are super cheap.
Yeah but the joke will be on you. You would be living in Arizona... eww
Las Vegas has cheaper houses there. You could get a 3000SF house for around $200k-$400K.
I live in Arizona. It's okay if you like conservative views and the color beige. I'm trying to get out
I live in Arizona and houses are like 130,000 but it's like the same houses repetitive. Its cool doe besides the heat, but you rarely feel it since all the houses come with ac.
And where jobs are super non existent.
I take it one step further and go to the open houses for them too, totally pretending I can afford them.
People look in the wrong areas for homes. If you wanna rent out homes or buy and sell you gotta know where to look. Obviously if you look for homes in so cal good luck finding one in your budget unless your doing really well
Zach is honestly my favorite human.
Haha it's cute that a $915,000 is considered "not even in 10 years" unobtainable. Try living in sydney, average house price $995,804.. AVERAGE.
try living in nyc
The Australian dollar is currently 25% weaker in value than American dollar. So an average american house is about $630,000 US dollars. if someone from Australia moved here with their money they would need 870K.
Jacob Cooley that's a meaningless distinction. The local price of goods has little relationship to the exchange rate. A few years ago the aud was higher than the usd, but that doesn't mean things were any cheaper for locals.
Matt Postle 300k isnt a meaningless distinction
Matheus Gampert Henz yes it is. Exchange rate doesn't affect local prices for the local residents. House prices in Australia don't go up and down based based on the strength of the usd. Go and buy a house in Thailand, it'll be fucking cheap for you with your usd. That doesn't mean it's proportionally cheaper for the local residents. For them it's still expensive. Exchange rates do not equate to local prices.
HOW ON EARTH ARE THOSE HOUSES UNDER A MILLION? but then again i saw the post date of this vid, n i was like 'oh yeah..'
it's hilarious how people in the midwest are worrying about $100,000 vs $103,000 and in California the winning bidder will bid like $100,000 more than the next bid
You gotta move to Las Vegas they have the cheapest homes there.
And the cheapest hookers. Mmmmmm...
Marcello Bellasante Sold!!!
Not even close. More like the most expensive hookers.
1ep Tijuana Mexico is where the hookers are cheap.
No thanks.. there’s a reason the houses are cheap.
Oh wow, this is a message stabbed right in the heart of the vast majority of me and my friends in our mid-30s! Zillow sparks the most horrific cases of FOMO ever because you can see inside the freaking houses - like, oh wow, i can just imagine myself in that indoor lap swimming pool!*

this. explains. everything.
I feel this in my soul.
I live in Seattle where my zillow adventure end up like this. But I just learned about Little Seattle AKA Tacoma, it's half the price and just an hour south.
Wow, this video was the same level of production as old CH videos before it shrank. I'm impressed. Good job!
This video is a little too personal.
I went browsing model homes recently and in the car I was literally Zac at the end sobbing, "I don't have any money."
If only there was something Americans could do to improve the business climate in their country....
You mean like cut back on bull crap regulations hindering small businesses that are put in place by corrupt politicians who are in bed with large corporations trying to avoid risking it in a truly free market? Because I can already tell you more government is not the answer.
Nathanael Ginn
Great idea, Nate. You know, I bet if someone was to make that their political platform, they'd do quite well, especially with people who aspire to enter the workforce.
Terrace Thornhill should look into the Libertarian Party as that is the biggest thing they want. People should be free to live as they choose as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others. ;)
*****
Well, obviously what you want to do is elect the most corrupt politician in modern American history. Someone who's the perfect embodiment of everything that's wrong with the system. She'll fix things.
Terrace Thornhill I really have no idea what you are talking about as my candidate is a HE and was a successful two term governor. Not a corrupt shady businessmen who believes free trade is a bad thing and wants to cut trade with everyone because that will "make things great again." Also, his plans require more regulations, not fewer. ;)
Nice try buddy, but Trump is just another Authoritarian Progressive using Nostalgia to gain support. His plans are still socialist and are pro-corporation and anti-spam business.
I always crack up when it says 'no results' and Zach just fuckin smiles

A decommissioned nuclear power plant could make a sturdy domicile. It should include, offices to sleep in, bathrooms, back up generators, a roof to keep the rain out and a radioactive reflection pool. Adding an oven range, dishwasher and refrigerator to the break room and it should be nearly complete.
This video is a personal attack on myself 😂 I have Zillow for the purpose of looking at houses I can never afford
