Fave quote: "That's not quite what we want..." It is what comes next that can be a struggle so it is helpful to see how you work through those situations. This is an interesting exercise and you used some unfamiliar nodes that continue to prompt awe in just how amazing is Resolve. Thanks for presenting this and I can see some applications where maybe you apply this technique to just one letter in a title for quick emphasis.
Hi Jer! Hope you have been well! Thanks. hahahaa.. I didn't realize that I repeated that phrase that often until you mentioned it! I am glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching! :)
Trust me this channel will blow up very soon..people like me who are switching from premiere pro to davinci really need good Davinci Tutorial Channels like this... watching all ur tutorials ...thanks
Thanks Tyler. And thanks for recommending this. I had a lot of fun trying to reproduce it. Quite a few false starts as I myself learnt that Fusion doesn't allow selection of fonts via expressions! And I also learnt that my skills with the TimeStretcher node required brushing up!!!
Really nicely done again. I love your dissolve node tree. I learned two things with that. Firstly what a dissolve does and also that even knowing what a node does doesn't necessarily teach you the power it has :) As a noob I would have attempted to keyframe the fonts but this is much better and cooler!
@@coffeebeanstudio I have small concept, a magic stick with hat, the particles were come from the magic stick. animated I want to learn more... i have seen people are doing these kinds of animation only aftereffect. If you can help me. please
Thanks for making the tutorial. I learned a few things. I have a question though. Wouldn't it be easier to just keyframe a font change for each of the letters and then do some kind of loop in the spline editor? I understand the letter selection wouldn't be random but I don't think it would necessarily be obvious. An alternative would be to write an expression directly on the font of the text. I see that fusion allows you to write an expression but I'm not sure where you're supposed to write it. There isn't a lot of information on UA-cam about Fusion expressions. Please consider making a video about some of your favorite ones.
Hi BSV. Thanks for watching and thanks for the appreciation. 1. Yeah, it would be easier to keyframe and spline the loops for the font change, but as you mentioned, I'd lose the randomness. If I didn't want the randomness, the keyframing would be the route to take. 2. You actually can't write an expression directly on the font of the text. Resolve doesn't permit that. It was one of the ways I initially tried to solve this by, but learnt that you can't do it whilst trying! :) Great minds.. ;) Cheers mate. Hope you have subscribed! :)
Hi Vinay. The language used in da Vinci resolve is called Lua. I am not sure whether a coding video will perform well on this channel but I’ll give it a shot. But if you wanna learn how to write the kind of code I wrote here, you’ll want to get familiar with basic Lua coding.
could you potentially do an example of the Modern Family intro? Its pretty interesting because it goes from still to video, transforms sizes and location, and seems overall similar to this sort of project. Just an idea, love your videos. P.S. Could you explain how this approach would vary from keyframing the actual font on four text nodes? Or I think maybe you could create a macro for a single letter and then reuse that one "random font letter" macro...I really really love how you are showing expressions, but as a programmer primarily, I just hate duplicating the same thing many times or copying and pasting settings across many nodes (DRY = Don't Repeat Yourself). This is still a totally valid approach, and I love your methodology of explaining it. Learning so much binging all your videos.
well, this is way too complicated.. I meant there's an easy way to do this., but I Learned new stuff today, I didn't know about expression, good to know that thanks

At 6:05 you use some script/code iif(math. random()

Hi Micki. The Multimerge is a part of 18.5 I think. You might have to update your Resolve version. It was released in April.
