As a father who has had a difficult relationship with his son, watching this has been a little emotional. Beautiful. Thank You for making my day Noel.
This is one of the most wholesome videos I’ve seen. Lovely to see
Thanks Ben!
@@FlyWithNoelPhilips Noel, hi. I've been subscribed for about a year and I love your pilot vlogs. But please stop speeding up the vid when your flying towards an airport. I understand why you have to do it on takeoffs. Its a time constraint but your spoiling some of the most of the scenic parts which North Devon and Cornwall are. Maybe its just me. I'm not sure. Either way I love your vids and look forward to them. Especially your pilot vlogs, your living my dream. Take are bud.....
"never change" comment to your son - couldn't agree more. Really enjoyed this video thank you for sharing.
Brilliant views and your young lad is an absolute credit to you , nodoubt you are very proud of him
Great video Noel, Sam is such a lucky boy to fly with his Dad 😎
Found your channel by chance when searching for G-BNOM on google to try and find out if it was still flying!
Took my first lessons in G-BNOM when I was 14/15 or so back in maybe 2010/2011, with instructors Alan Pattinson and Graham Dawson, when it was owned by Border Air Training in Cumbria.
Flew from Carlisle down the west coast over Whitehaven and back on my first flight with an incredibly proud mother sat in the back, good memories!
They had most of their aircraft painted white and red with a custom livery but G-BNOM was left white and orange up until the business moved out of the area.
Glad to see that it's still going strong and someone is getting good use out of it 😎
Controllers in the UK are incredibly
helpful and friendly. And what a beautiful approach! Incredible video as always
As long you avoid London Airspace normally they are good
@@Diegoangola1 yeah I’d assume that would cause some issues Lol
I usually watch you flying round the world. Not sure why I was surprised that you have a pilots licence. Great to see your son enjoying the flight with you.
I flew out of Newquay many times when it was known as RAF St Mawgan - lovely long and wide runway
Your young lad is cool and calm, I bet he will be a great captain 🙂
Best video I have seen from you. Natural, no 'buzz words' . Just great flying in great weather and real family/son fun. Brilliant!!
Loved that, thanks so much.
Enjoyed that and some lovely views Noel. I agree Newquay over the cliffs is a stunning approach. Thanks buddy.
I recently flew in a microlight out of Swansea, the views just after take off are stunning!...my wife brought me a 'pleasure flight' as a 60th birthday present...'pleasure' and 'flight' are not two words I use together as I am petrified of flying!, gee thanks love!!!....but it was a fantastic experience, loved it and I cant wait to do it again now.
Your son is fantastic. Really enjoyed the way you two interact .
Not really a fan of Noel Phillips flight reviews but ia happened to stumble ypon his pilot channel. Man this is really good. Saw one vidoe where he was in Houston. I live in Dallas and go to flight school in Mesquite. So it was cool to see his pilot vlog to Denton. This is great stuff, Noel. Thanks for the vidoes.
fantastic video Lovely Views. Thanks for posting Noel.
Welcome to Swansea Noel. Been watching your videos and good content. Keep up the good work Noel Philips 👍
Worked at Newquay Airport for nearly 13 Enjoyable Years, Nice Enviroment, Can get Very Busy in the Summer though.
Great content as always Noel! Sam is hilarious! Keep the videos coming guys!
Once IMC, Always IMC :-) That was a very precise landing, flawless !!!
Brilliant video love the views of Newquay . I recently landed into Newquay the same direction as you and it’s breathtaking scenery and beaches of the Cornish coast
9:27 awwww
Great video Neal and Sam I enjoy both of your channels Neal keep up the great work
The landing got the 'Sam Seal of Approval'.... outstanding! Can't wait to pass and do they same with my two boys. Circuit training as we speak.
Great vlog Noel, Sams comment when you said i haven't had time to do a loo review was priceless PMSL
Such a nice video... Now I know why you are SO happy to get home after your long trips abroad.
I flew into Newquay a few weeks back but did an ILS approach on the other side. After spending a few hours there I flew out over the sea though and went for a bimble around the Lands End coastline - the most scenic experience I've had in the air to date.
Great work, love the PA-28!
Another great vlog!! Beautiful vista on finals into Newquay
It's so beautiful in Cornwall!
They need to do a small ferry between Swansea to Cornwall to save drives of 5-6 hours
Brilliant flight Noel👍
Great video. My home base is EGHU Eaglescott and so I get to fly that gorgeous coast often. What a lucky bloke eh! I’ll head over to Swansea in a few weeks time, trip to Oxwich Bay perhaps.....
Another great vlog, Sam is so much like you, a real mini me
Nice video :) I like Newquay, lots memories around there plus kind and hassle free handling! Swansea would be a nice GA destination, I hope that airfield is going to improve.
The long runway straight out over the sea is one of the reasons Newquay has been chosen as a future spaceport.
Great 👍 video lovely views. Paul
Try Perranporth........... more scenic, more GA friendly........
Damn, that IS a stunning view!
Just along the coast to the west is another pretty airport that is worth visiting at Pembrey West Wales Airport
Nice landing Noel, greased it!
Great video you should try and get up to Scotland lots of great airfields to visit. Some of the island ones are amazing to fly in to.
Lovely video, lads!
I flew to St Athan with my father on a very cold late September day bitterly cold after coming from my home in Australia . St Athan had Harriers down there we went down there with another person who was bringing the Harrier back to Dunsfold . Then dad and myself flew back to Dunsfold .
You need to fly into Cardiff airport. You can actuall get a drink and food there. Also the approach is pretty cool over the channel then viaduct, or come in from the other direction and fly over my back garden in st.athan.
The Ukraine International was bringing the Ukraine national football team to Wales in wold cup qualifying match which Wales won 1-0
Ah that's interesting, thank you!

So wholesome
awsome vlog with sam
Love Sam's sense of humour. Chip off the old block. Great vlog.
Great video!
The airfields are St Eval, Trebelzue, and Newquay (formerly RAF St Mawgan).
This video has finally convinced me to book my first flying lesson. Great stuff.
Fantastic! Have fun and good luck!
Same here! Good luck!
Absolutely beautiful
I wish my co-pilots were as polite as yours! 😁
Great vlog! 🙂
Thank you!! 😊
Fabulous.....🙏🏼
Newquay is my local airport and it is always a nice approach
Enjoying the vlogs. What are the various dongles you use on your camera setup? The GoPro on Sam’s side and your Bose headphones have various attachments! Thanks.
Such a well behaved child well done Noel!
Proper father and son goals 😃
Father Son experience, cannot get better 😀
The last time I was there was in 1968 with the Air Training Corps. I didn't get a flight in a Shackleton, just a Chipmunk.
You guys need to get your self up to Prestwick, great sea landing to. I'll also get you some lunch and a video of your landing. Could even watch you come in on the Radar
You should try it in the winter with 8/8ths at 200ft and 600m RVR.
These videos make my day 😁 , it’s my dream to have my ppl one day 😁
👍👍👍👍👍 always!!!
Love sam’s raw jokes
You had a great Copilot
Jimmy's grown a beard!! Kids can't help themselves, how long, how far, are we are there yet, but how long to start of descent thats different! Some great views, landing fee could be worse!
Hi Noel, lovely video! Swansea is my local airport, such a shame to see it so derelict. I've always wanted to eventually obtain a PPL, which I think is possible with savings. Keeping current is the issue as I understand that can get quite costly. Do you have any suggestions how this can be sustainable and cost effective?
Greased it!
That landing fee should include a meal and a drink.
Great video's also I guess your a Jimmy's world fan, me to
Great video, I’m surprised how cheap the landing fee was. I’m going to add this to my list of places to visit. If you stay for the day, is it more?
It surprised me how reasonable it was too! Fuel was very pricey though, £3 a litre (but it comes off my rental so didn't really make a difference). I'm not sure if they charge more for a longer stay - but.2 hours rings a bell so may be worth giving them a call to check. I used FlyNQY they're very helpful and friendly!
@@FlyWithNoelPhilips thanks Noel, will check it out 👍
May I ask Which iPad and yoke mount are you using? My iPad mini 1st gen won’t connect to Bluetooth GPS so need to upgrade.
Looking to build some hours over the summer in OM and LB.
Great vid as ever. Hopefully catch you at GFS some time soon.
It's a RAM mount and adapter, I think I got it from Transair.
come to Hawarden please
Did u look around Swansea .. mumbles and the Gower ??
Yep yep
Canadians are melting under a heat warning looking cooler in England today
Your son is very cool. A credit to you
Love your videos Noel. I'm a PPL student and I recently got told that when departing I should ask for "taxi information" and when arriving I should ask for "airfield information". Do you know if that's correct?
Hi Mark, not sure if it's right but always ask for 'airfield information'. CAP413 says 'Taxi information' though so maybe I've been doing it all wrong! I think it's all semantics though and I don't think I've heard many people request 'taxi information' at an A/G airfield.
bet none of sams friends get to something as awesome as that
what an awesome kid....made me lol
Someone likes Jimmys World
Do you pay landing fees at Swansea?
Might sound a silly question, but how do you know where to go and where the airport is when you get there?
GPS is your friend! But aside from this, we navigate either visually (by roads/towns/features) or using navigational beacons (VOR/NDB). Usually I use a combination of all three - primarily GPS, using VORs/NDBs along the way and then visual features for approach/landing.
@@FlyWithNoelPhilips Interesting, I would imagine that you have little time to sit back and relax then...great videos, safe flying.

I am from the states but I rented a baron 58 a few years ago with a friend from Wales (we both have our ppl) and we flew from black pool to Newquay in the summer months and it was an Absolutely beautiful flight!
