I learnt to fly at Welshpool in August 1999. I did my first solo there. I did it all in a 4 week crash course. I stopped over in the local farmhouse with communal kitchen with other PPL students. The best time of my life. I now fly Airbus A320s for Qatar Airways based in Doha and have 9600 hours.
Started of the day feeling a bit blah but was delighted to see a brand new Pilot Vlog from Noel. Watching Noel flying over the sunny countryside and the great banter has lifted my spirits all the way up! Thanks Noel! :)
I love this kind of video where you are just chatting to us informally as you fly us around the Uk. It’s like being invited along for a flight and a natter! On a different note I loved the music on this vid? Where do you get the music from?

So can you show us the flight route map as I like to follow along, so when you say an area is not quite in Wales and not really England, I would love to know where that is. Great shot of you landing!!! There are some hills around there, neat. Huge fan of the "full English" for breakfast at any time of day , but the sausage butti works!
Just renewed my PPL at 69 and find your vlogs invaluable for getting back into the radio calls etc....gives me confidence that I can get back to my previous level of competence. !!!
I flew into Blackpool Airport on Sunday, The Lancaster Bomber was there with the spitfire, Hurricane, red Arrows and theTyphoons. Thought of you as I know you were there a few weeks ago.They mad me park my Eurostar next to the Lancaster
@@FlyWithNoelPhilips One of the lovely this I like about the EV97 is, there are hundreds of small airfields, farm strips and small clubs across the Uk, almost in every town that you can fly into easily opening up all the towns and villages and towns between the GA airports as flying destinations. Your GA flights are inspirational . Thanks so much for posting Noel. Ps, My Blackpool flight with the Lancaster is actually on my channel. I believe you would love the EV97 as the 180 degrees of visibility from the cockpit is unreal. It’s like a magic flying carpet. It’s very cheap to run, fairly fast, fly’s like a mini spitfire. Very good power to weight . Thanks for replying.
The immaturity was on a level I behave to, love it 🤣 My wife giving me the glare as I laugh. Incidentally, I once flew alongside a flight from Hardon....I told my wife "I flew with a hardon." She has now left the room 🤣
Still looking forward to being talked through the final stages of approach, with info like your decisions on airspeed, flaps and trim. Good landings come from good decisions and accurate execution so I'd love to know more about that.

Do you ever see us flying our model planes, we have a small club just over 3 miles SE of Gamston, next to the motocross track near Bevercotes? we tend to fly below 400ft to comply with the current legislation. Nice flight to Wales, have you been to Shobdon?
Recognised Jon's wing filming your landing you do seem to bump into each other on regular basis Turweston or was this planned? It seems your brought 1 fly from Gamston on your journey!! You should have buzzed Zero Three Delta tower as you passed maybe dad was drinking coffee! Today is 13th where you returning to Gamston this afternoon, just thought I caught you on radio to east mids?
It’s air to ground which is how most uncontrolled airfields in the UK operate. They can’t give you commands, just information for you to make your own decisions.

I was stationed at RAF Shawbury in the late 70's - early 80's in the RAF. It is indeed the helicopter traing base for the military.
We love to watch the light aircraft taking off and landing at Halfpenny Green Airport near us in Kinver. Have you ever flown over that way?

No I’ve never seen them. At that point we’re usually around 2000ft and about to descend to 1000ft for the circuit so will be well above.
