I work at the Mahle Behr manufacturing plant in Dayton Ohio where I've been for almost 18yrs. For 11 of those years, I've worked in the department where I've built the wk2/wd hvac and engine cooling module(ECM) for the grand cherokee in all its rooms and the Dodge Durango. I am proud to say that we are now building the hvac and ecm for the 22 grand cherokee and wagoneer as well, the WL platform as was alluded to. So proud my hard work is part of this beautiful vehicle.

@@paulj9821 thank you for that. The hvac and engine cooling module in your vehicle was probably built by myself or one of my coworkers. We take quality very seriously and our record speaks for itself, plus I highly doubt we'd be in business as long as we have been- since the 60s, long before I came along- if we were building crap parts. What's crazy is that a $45000 Laredo is considered a "value." I mean considering $70000 is fully loaded, 45k doesn't sound like a lot, but its by no means affordable. I'm in shock with how expensive automobiles are getting!

Jesse I remember in the '60s, you couldn't get car financing for over a year! But then again, the car warranties were for only a year, the cars were...crapolas and a $15,000 car was an expensive car! 😂 FYI, a new VW bug would set you back about $800 and a VW bus 1,700! I just bought one on the Altitude trim for my wife and I think it comes well equiped and looks great with that blacked out look. Asked for the towing pkg and got a deal with the dealer here in Canada. The v6 pentastar still delivers good towing for the trailer and that trim comes with trailer sway control. Love what they did with standard equipment! Truly is a great bang for the buck on the lower trims!

60K miles? Get ready to replace your first water pump. My '11 5.7 Overland needed one at 65K and ~120K. It was one of my favorite vehicles that I have every owned but, man it got expensive to keep it going. When the air suspension started leaking I had no choice but to trade it around 135K miles. The Laredo is 45k with power liftgate and sunroof. That's insane for a base model with cloth seats. Not to mention Jeep's interest rate for one of these was at 6% with a credit score at 740 and above. I was recently in the market for a new suv and couldn't find a limited under 54k. That's what dealers were charging with market adjustment fees and that 6% interest rate.

Tommy does a good job letting know what this version is all about. I just got my 2021 GC Limited with the 5.7 (my be the last 5.7 WK2 ever built). I feel I got a deal even in this market because to get a 2022 with the 5.7 is significantly more expensive than the 2021. The drive lines are the same in 2022. No low range in the lower trim levels on the 2022. No sunroof or nav in the the 2022 limited trim. For me, they did reduce manufacturing defects over the 10 years of production. Not perfect but acceptable. Looked at other products. I wanted a better balance driving experience than the 3.6 provides. Good luck with the new ones.

Many that buy cars often get extended warranties. I don't buy into that old school nonsense of chrysler isn't reliable or German cars aren't reliable. Nonsense. You take care of the car and put the proper fuel in it, it'll take care of you. Never had a problem with my Jeeps or Audi's. 54 thousand and 98 thousand perspectively I keep my cars for 3.5 years and pay them off in cash over the course of 2 months of $9500 a week. That's relatively quick. After they're paid for, I don't have a single problem with them. However, my wife's current Lexus, Cadillac prior and Infiniti prior to that all had an issue or 2. They were supposed to be so great and reliable. My mother had a pricey amount of trouble out of her 4-Runner and none out of her Durango. So, I'm different and buy what appeals to oneself. Most people do. When spending this kind of money, you get what you want and not worry about so called reliability. In case something go's wrong, trade that car in and get another one.

We're moving to New England soon and a 4x4 is a must have due to the snow so this is at the top of our list, but will be sad to see the Challeger Scat Pack go. I love what they have done with the interior of the new GC, especially that you can get cloth seats with the heated option since leather doesn't work for us in colder weather and they are pretty attractive. It has all of the safety features, remote start and driving assistance features as well. Actually, the only thing I can think of that we would want added to the red 4x4 Laredo shown here is fog lights. It's not a bad price for what you get and we'd delete the sunroof because we never use them which would save $1,095. Wouldn't need the passenger screen, either, as the husband or I would be on our smartphones on a long trip anyway. That trim level absolutely meets our needs. We haven't ruled out the 4xe for better mileage, but we trust the reliability of the 3.6L. So happy with the new exterior design as well. Looking forward to test driving one!

Its basically the same package as the Reserve without the ventilated rear seats and 20 vs 21 inch wheels but with the added night vision which I wanted. Its absolutely stunning. I really like the massaging front seats for long drives. The price is steep but it compares favorably to the BMW X5 and MB GLE350 which I've owned 2. The new GC is significantly more expensive.
The Trailhawk starts at $51,670. My '18 Trailhawk started at $43,295: $8500 less...! This is a big jump, and the only practical difference I see is a bit more ground clearance and the sway bars.
Destination charge is an outrageous $1800! ($1100 on the '18) Huge profit center for Jeep.
I am left wondering about the Trailhawk's seats. Before, Trailhawk was the only way to get the much superior SRT seats in a non-SRT GC. I wonder if that's still the case?
Also, if you want a (sluggish) V8, it's worth noting it's not available on the Limited anymore, meaning you'll have pay a lot more for a higher end trim level to get it.

I know a lot of people are complaining about the price, and by no means are they cheap, but to compare the new GC to the previous editions isn’t a fair match. The 2022 Laredo has more options and convenience features than the previous WK Limited and is evenly equipped with the WK2, with the exception of leather seats. The question is whether they moved it too far upscale. As far as looks, Jeep has apparently intentionally dramatically changed the looks and style of each new generation. My personal favorite was the WK with the sharp corners and compact size and the semi-circle headlights. I just wish they’d go back to the flip window hatch.

I just bought the Summit. I know its pricey but if you can afford it then why not. This is my 2nd GC. I also have a 2019 Limited 4x4 that I'm giving to my daughter. I kept the MSRP sticker and was shocked to see that it was $41,000 and change. I believe I bought it for $38,000. Now to be fair it does not have the interior of the new Limited BUT it was still very nicely appointed and very comfortable. It has a sun roof but not a panoramic sunroof. There is no real wood trim. Its probably more like today's Laredo but what a great value it was just few short years earlier. Can't believe I'm paying almost $70k for a new loaded version. I will say though, the air suspension and creature comforts are on par with a BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE350 (I've owned 2 in the past). My only complaint is that middle console with the piano black plastic. Cmon Jeep! For that price it should be wood. But otherwise its a beautiful swiss knife luxury SUV that can handle just about any weather or road condition thrown at it.

Anyways after that issue was fixed, AC blew out hot air randomly, had to make an appointment with the dealer, and had to talk to Jeep customer care, going back and forth 8 times to the dealer, but it has not been fixed. All they saying is sorry, and to be patient, all I did was be nice and patient with the dealers and Jeep customer care. It’s been my worst nightmare won't buy anything from them ever again! !!!?!?!
