Love the video! I’m from Brasil myself- from Salvador-Bahia, and I’ve only been to Rio de Janeiro once and I need to come back with my American wifey so we can explore it together 😍 Loved watching you guys experience some beauties/goodies of my country! I couldn’t help not noticing that you compared brigadeiro to chocolate frosting- NOOO!!! Frosting are so disgusting to my taste buds hahaha Also, SUGARLOAF MOUNTAIN??? Noooo hahaha it’s Pão de Açúcar! We don’t translate Big Apple (NY) grande maçã you gotta be truthful to it’s name hahaha love the video tho!! Go to Bahia as well… you gonna love it!
Thanks, Daniel!! We've absolutely LOVED your country and are planning to extend our trip because we love it so much. Thanks for making us feel so welcome!
Brasil is my favorite country to visit. The best food, people, and places. -Figueira Rubaiyat restaurant in Sao Paulo -Rafting in Brotas -Tour indigenous tribes, rainforest hikes, and animals in Manaus -Beaches in Barra Grande, Jericoacoara or Fortaleza
Agreed! Brazil is absolutely AMAZING and we've only scratched the surface so far. Thank you for those recommendations! We'd especially love to visit Manaus on this trip if we have the time. :)

I’m still dreaming about the fruit and coconut water in Rio! When I was there we were able to get a tour that got us up to Christ the redeemer before any of the trains and our small group were the only ones up there. It was a REALLY early morning after a night of Caiprianhas, but was incredible to see the views when it’s empty.
Oh wow!! I wish we had be able to get the same experience at Christ the Redeemer! I'm sure that it was incredible with no crowds. Wish we could send you some fruit and coconut water here through UA-cam. :)
Thanks so much, y'all! We can't recommend Brazil enough! It's been such a wonderful experience so far and this country holds so many amazing places and experiences.

Brigadeiros are very easy to make. Only three ingredients: condensed milk, butter and cocoa powder. When you go out to buy them they are sold rolled in a ball like that, but when we make them at home we pour it onto a plate and eat it with a spoon.
Beautiful video. Chris will buy 4 more of anything that brings Sara that much joy... ❤ I loved the way the train took you up to the statue of Christ. Enjoy, y'all. ❤ I loved the very last still shot. Above all else, the light of the world.🙏
Absolutely loved your video. So light, easy going, colourful and with great vibe, you showed different aspects of a daily life in the city it felt almost as we were there too. Also the last video at night views, with Christ Redeemer lights afar, it was a beautiful blessing, thanks guys.
Your Fast cutting editing was OUTSTANDING! Love love this video you two seem so happy and well….now we want to go to Rio!!!!! Excellent video guys!!! ~Cara 😊
Wow when y’all were standing next to Christ the Redeemer I didn’t realize how large it is. ACTUALLY CRAZY! And I need every single desert in Cafe Colombo
Cafe Colombo is a delightful place that makes me think of Paris in the golden pre-war era. Indeed Rio was another of the places such artists and intellectuals would visit back then.
Hope you are venturing out to other parts of Brazil. In particular other beaches. With so much coastline, I think there is a beach to meet everyone's preference it's been a couple decades since I spent a month there. But I think the beach is their key to staying fit. People from the US just lay out and sun bathed. But people from Brazil are so active on the beaches, no one is sitting down, much less laying down.
Oh thank you!! I don't think we've gotten to visit there yet. We're planning to go back to Rio before we go home so we'll be sure to check those out! :)

I know we have so many problems to deal with here in Brazil but on the other hand we have a lot of other things to be proud of. Thanks for choosing to visit our country. Next time you come here make sure to go to Northeast region.
im brazilian living in portugal and i just came across with this video, it made me smile during i was watching it ´cause its so beautiful see the people outside of brasil discovering our culture, foods, fruits, people and having a good time there! thanks for shared it with a such good directing/recording work, perfectly filmed and commented. 🤎🇧🇷
I'm native to Rio and I'm so glad you enjoyed visiting the city! Sometimes we ourselves miss on some of the beautiful spots of our own city and it takes somebody from outside to cue you in on the cool things your city has. Thank you so much! On my part I loved visiting America! You are such a cute couple and very "immersive" on your cultural attempt to experience all flavors of Brazil, literally! But the top notch star in your video is your sun-tanned pooch, no doubt!!! He is one of the cutest doggies I've ever seen! Should he been born in Rio, I would have named him "Brigadeiro". His fuzzy hair looks like the sprinkled chocolate on the sweet!
Try a caju (cashew fruit) beverage. My favorite that is not really available in the US. I don't like the fleshy texture of the fruit eaten whole, but in a drink it is sublime.
The fruit really isn't that great to eat and often used to be thrown away. But as others have said, it makes a very nice fruit juice and is also used as an alternative to limes when making caipirinha (a type of batida or fruit cocktail).
That fruit looks amazing! Your faces are priceless! Chris when the man blew his nose & Sara eating the chocolate ball are hilarious! I love açaí bowls! I thought they started in Hawaii. They are delicious wherever they started! Can Kramer get any cuter in the backpack with his paws resting on your shoulders? So sweet!
Me and my wife are living outside Brazil for a month now and we are already feeling homesick. Seeing you guys experimenting our food and culture brought joy to us and warmed our heart. Thanks for that❤️ PS: My wife's name is Sara too, and the face you made when eating Brigadeiro it's the same she does everytime hahaha
Hey, tips for Rio, Pedra da Gávea hike, Barra da Tijuca beach, the lookout of Leblon, Stand Up paddle tour to Ilhas Tijucas, New York Citiy Center, Barra, Shopping and Village Mall, the first two are connected to each other and the third is nearby, and a combined tour of Praia do Secreto, Prainha and Grumari, as well as Pedra do Telégrafo rock and the hidden beaches Perigoso, Meio, Funda and Inferno, maybe it's worth to rent a car for a day to visit those beaches, as they are far away, but still inside city limits. Also, if you want to rent a car for a day you can cross the Rio - Niterói bridge and head to the oceanic region of Niterói and visit Itacoatiara, Camboinhas and Sossego beaches, it's also possible to stay there over night.
Oh wow, thank you so so much!! We're planning to visit Rio again this trip because 2 weeks wasn't near long enough. We're definitely adding these places to the list in hopes of visiting as many as possible. thanks again! :)
OMG! You really did a GREAT choice when you put Sugarloaf Mountain in this roadmap of yours. I think it is the first "must-go" in Rio, even first than Christ the Redeemer. I've had been in Rio twice and it's definitely the greatest city in Brazil. I am brazilian and you made me really happy in this video. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much!! It's so nice to hear a Brazilian say they enjoyed our video from our time there. We can't wait to visit again in 2025 and experience and show more of the country.
Ok... I'm here because I've just watched Casimiro reacting to your video, guys. You two made such a lovely video of my city and it made the reaction of him being great and also funny. Thank you!

Hello Chris, hello Sara, I'm Brazilian, "carioca" (born in the city of Rio de Janeiro), but I live in São José, a city close to Florianópolis, in the state of Santa Catarina. The first video I watched was from São Paulo, a UA-cam recommendation. I loved the video. Very cool to see your excitement about our culture and our people. Then I joined the channel and saw that there were other videos from Rio de Janeiro, my hometown. As I've been in Santa Catarina for many years, it was really cool to see Rio again and it was lovely to see it under the eyes of people who didn't know it and that everything was a new experience. Another thing that made me very happy (since I don't speak English and I'm writing this review with the help of Google Translate), is that in the videos from Brazil, as well as the videos from Mexico, there are subtitles in the local language. I found this to be a very great affection and respect for the people of the countries they visit. Finally, I would like to congratulate you for the channel, for your travels, for your experiences and also for your respect and affection for us. And if you come back to Brazil, include the state of Santa Catarina in your itinerary, get to know Florianópolis (Floripa for the intimate), the coast and the interior of the state. And, if you like to eat, and I've already seen that you do, I suggest you try a "Café Colonial". I recommend a great place, in the city of Rancho Queimado, in the mountain region of the state, called "Café Colonial Kaffeehaus".
Dica pra vcs...
I am impressed how every tourist who lives outside Brazil loves the brigadeiro and finds it incredibly tasty, which it really is. It's such a simple recipe! Make it: A box of condensed milk, 1 and ½ tablespoon of margarine and 2/3 tablespoons of chocolate milk - Put everything in a pan and stir until the recipe is coming off the bottom of the pan. Ready!
I loved to see Sara's expression when she had har first bite from brigadeiro. It looked like she was just creating new childhood memories just so she could had an emocional nostalgia from that taste. If that's the case, we salute you as one of us ❤ If you like pão de queijo and brigadeiro you are already half brazilian ❤

With so much coastline, I think there is a beach to meet everyone's preference it's been a couple decades since I spent a month there. But I think the beach is their key to staying fit. People from the US just lay out and sun bathed. But people from Brazil are so active on the beaches, no one is sitting down, much less laying down.
I think you're right, we noticed how active everyone was there!
Waking up early and going for a run in the sands. It's not my reality yet but I'm planning on moving to João Pessoa next year. Cheers!
Temos muitas outras lindas cidades. Vão se surpreender. Abraços🙏🙏🙏
Que irado!
Feliz em saber que adoraram o RJ. Voltem sempre.
During the summer, from december until march, Rio is really really hot, but at other times of the year the temperature is more confortable.
I guess this just means we will have to come back again someday!
@@chrisandsara I really hope you guys can come back in Brazil for more exploration in regions that you were not able to go.
Randomly found you guys and wow you are a beautiful couple and brigadeiro is heaven on earth...Brazil is amazing 👏🇧🇷
Welcome to our channel! ☺️ thanks so much for watching and commenting! And we agree, Brazil is truly amazing. 😍

Thanks so much for watching along with us!
Check out our latest video on Merida, Mexico that has just been released! ua-cam.com/video/lPK3QQORycE/v-deo.html
Zona Oeste (West Zone) of Rio is also really cool, Barra da Tijuca, São Conrado and Recreio are good spots with a lot of stuff to do
Oh thank you!! I don't think we've gotten to visit there yet. We're planning to go back to Rio before we go home so we'll be sure to check those out! :)

Verdadeiros Embaixadores! 💚
Thanks so much, that means a lot!
I know we have so many problems to deal with here in Brazil but on the other hand we have a lot of other things to be proud of. Thanks for choosing to visit our country. Next time you come here make sure to go to Northeast region.
Pro ela gave in all places no places are perfect, perfect is only the heaven but for sure we can fight for the better always
Voltem sempre!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
We loved visiting! Thanks for watching!
Great video and you are so right about the food, especially about the brigadeiro!
SO GOOD, right?! Wish we could bring some back for y'all!
A tip, in São Paulo feijoada is traditionally sold on Saturdays, almost all restaurants will have it on the menu
Thanks for the tip!
im brazilian living in portugal and i just came across with this video, it made me smile during i was watching it ´cause its so beautiful see the people outside of brasil discovering our culture, foods, fruits, people and having a good time there! thanks for shared it with a such good directing/recording work, perfectly filmed and commented. 🤎🇧🇷
We're so glad you loved our video, thanks so much for watching!
I love that you followed Somebody Feed Phil! Love the show and really enjoy watching you experience what the places are really life!!
We love Somebody Feed Phil! Thank you so much for watching!
All those treats look SO GOOD! And you both look like you had a fantastic time exploring Rio. ❤️
We are for sure!! Maybe y'all should just drive your van on down here? :)
Welcome to the marvelous city! My adopted home as I am a Canadian abroad. Great video. Subscribed. 👍
Most natural, free, beautiful and happy country I have been too in my life 💖
Thank you guys for showing the world a little bit about my hometown!
O rio de janeiro continua lindo
I am from Rio, l live in Ipanema neighborhood.
So glad about your perspective of Rio here... The best I've ever seen.
Glad you love brigadeiro :)
Thank you so much for watching, Rafael! We absolutely loved Brazil and are already dreaming of returning again soon. :)
Brigadeiro é outro nível, não me imagino longe disso
That fruit looks amazing! Your faces are priceless! Chris when the man blew his nose & Sara eating the chocolate ball are hilarious! I love açaí bowls! I thought they started in Hawaii. They are delicious wherever they started! Can Kramer get any cuter in the backpack with his paws resting on your shoulders? So sweet!
Haha not sure whose reaction was better! Yes, Kramer is always the real star of the show especially in his backpack!
Actually açai is from the Amazon rainforest, the natives used as source of food since ages ago.
Acai /assaiee/ comes from an Amazon palm tree and is very nutritious. Acai icecream is like a very creamy chocolate icecream. Delicious!
Me and my wife are living outside Brazil for a month now and we are already feeling homesick. Seeing you guys experimenting our food and culture brought joy to us and warmed our heart. Thanks for that❤️
PS: My wife's name is Sara too, and the face you made when eating Brigadeiro it's the same she does everytime hahaha
Aw that is so sweet, thank you for watching! And I don't blame her, brigadeiro is amazing and I miss it!
We agree!
Ok... I'm here because I've just watched Casimiro reacting to your video, guys. You two made such a lovely video of my city and it made the reaction of him being great and also funny.
Thank you!
Awesome guys! Been wanting to visit to Rio for awhile. I look forward to experiencing like you guys did someday. Cheers and thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for watching! We absolutely love Rio and can't recommend it enough. Really hop you get to make it there to experience it for yourself one day soon! :)

So nice! I really hope you'd get a chance to know more about Brazil. Like a deep dive. I live in Natal, which is in northeastern Brazil. Wish to see you visiting Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza, Natal...
We didn't have much time in Brazil but we'd love to come back again someday! These are helpful recommendations!
Fortaleza and Natal change for Pipa, Trancoso, Porto Seguro, Jerioracoara and João Pessoa.
Awesome surprise Tuesday video. Got off work not long ago so I'll make some coffee to go with my bath and an awesome video. Thank you guys so much! Your videos are always a pleasure and great information and plugs for these beautiful locations.

Thank you so much!
Welcome to Rio ❤️ enjoy the sun and Nature!
Thank you! We loved our time there!
Hello Chris, hello Sara,
I'm Brazilian, "carioca" (born in the city of Rio de Janeiro), but I live in São José, a city close to Florianópolis, in the state of Santa Catarina.
I recommend a great place, in the city of Rancho Queimado, in the mountain region of the state, called "Café Colonial Kaffeehaus".
hey there! Thanks so much for commenting, we hope you enjoyed our video of your home city!
Dica pra vcs...
Thanks for the recommendations!
You covered many of my favorites places! Sara you are the sweetest!
If that's the case, we salute you as one of us ❤ If you like pão de queijo and brigadeiro you are already half brazilian ❤
ahh we miss brigadeiro! It was so delicious, I (Sara) think about it often haha!
I really liked how respectful you were in sharing your experiences! Congratulations on the quality of editing the points visited. Good Job!
Thanks so much, we really appreciate it!
Awesome vlog/journey. Enjoy the trip!!
Thanks, Sean!! We're loving Brazil so far! :)
I'm so glad I've found you, guys. I am brazilian and I live in São Paulo but I cannot affor travelling my own country unfortunately. I'm super happy I can see more of my country through your eyes
I hope you manage to get your wish Tatiara. Start planning the sequence of places you'd like to visit :o)
Hi Tatiara! We're happy to take you along for the travels. Hopefully one day you'll get to see more of your own beautiful country in person. Brazil is incredible and you're so lucky to be from such an incredible country. ❤
Wow, really enjoyed this one!! Thank you!
Thanks so much, Doug!! :)

We're so glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
Hey Guys, you should visit the south of Brazil one day, it is a very beautiful place. Parana [Foz do Iguaçu, Curitiba], Santa Catarina [Joinville, Florianopolis]. It is another side of Brazil that is extremely beautiful.
We would love to come back and visit those areas someday!
Congrats! I’m from Rio and I tell you, yes, you hit all the marks 🥰 I’m so glad you showed so much appreciation for the “wonderful City” Cidade Maravilhosa. It really needs good vibes now. 🙏🏽❤️😃
That's great to hear, thanks for watching!
Welcome to Brazil. Enjoy it!
Thank you! We have definitely been enjoying it!
Beautifully shot and edited! For those of you who don't like hot and humid, better time to go is during the southern hemisphere winter, June - August - still beautiful warm weather, but not nearly as humid.
Thanks so much!
You should visit Praia da Joatinga. Its a very nice spot, beautifull view! Hope you guys enjoy your stay. Welcome to Rio!
We will have to add it to our list, thank you!
Guys, you have such a great energy!!! Thanks for sharing your experience in Rio! I'm gonna be there next January! 🙏🎉
Enjoy RIO! It's such a cool city!
