Have been on a few walks with Abbie (Spend More Time in The Wild) and their wisdom and love of nature and its healing changed my life. Thank you Abbie. Am loving your film.
3 or 4 years ago you inspired me to start hiking. I started on 1 and 2km hikes. I've now hiked over 1600km and lost 50lbs. Thank you for the inspiration. I'm so grateful for you.
Know that you have many friends and allies out here who may look so ordinary and traditional, on the outside. We all need to support and help each other on life's roller coaster journey. Glad to see another walking adventure on your channel!
Seeing you so joyful back out in nature is giving me vicarious happiness. Cracking video, it's great to have you back and sharing your adventures with us!
Hi Abbie. I absolutely love your videos. I’m 75 years old now and still out there as often asI can but LDPs are beyond me now. So I follow your adventures and recall my own. 🙏🙏🙏
Your film making skills are incredible. I have thoroughly enjoyed walking along beside you on this trail. Your passion for the outdoors is infectious and it makes me want to get out and soak up some scenery. Good to see you so happy and back out having adventures.
Another beautiful journey. Thank you for taking us along with you. Your videos never fail to remind me that it's not about all of the micro details, it's about just getting out there and enjoying the outdoors and life. Your infectious happiness in this video, especially at the start, was a joy to watch.
Its nice to see you back on the trail again Abbie, and its very close to 60 Years since I first entered Kirk Yetholme on my first of two Pennine Way Hikes. I wish you Happy Hiking along the St Cuthberts Way. Sadly I can no longer get out an about in the Hills my knee joints would not take the pounding due to too many previous hikes, (two Pennnine Ways, 2 Coast to Coasts, 2 John O' Groat to Lands End, and a Complete Coastal Circut of Great Brittian and many more) but I wish you Well. Tony in Essex a 68yr old Ex Hiker of Long Distance Routes
I am only starting the video but so entirely happy to see it! You look so happy! Your smile makes my heart explode! Keep on hiking. Wishing you all the best from Milton, Delaware, USA!
It was great to see you doing this special film, smiling that smile, and looking well and happy, despite your many challenges. Thank you for all you do for the world, Abbie!
Fantastic video great to see your joy at being back in the trail seeing Cuddies Cave was brilliant as it's a special for me. You look well Congratulations on your transition despite societal challenges you have faced you are looking so happy and well being your own coach is working well 🥰
Brilliant video as always Abbie, you looked so happy throughout and it looked like a fantastic walk. I always enjoy watching your videos already can’t wait till the next one 😁 keep doing what your doing! You continue to inspire me with your adventures 😊
Hi Abbie. I look forward to all your videos, and especially enjoy your full length films. You always inspire me to get out and walk. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you as happy as this - so pleased for you. Keep up your amazing walk. Lots of love from a 62 year old grandma in Melbourne, Australia.
Love this. Had a lovely evening to myself the day it came out so sat back and relaxed. On the shortlist for a future walk for sure - either on my own or with my 13 year old daughter, who has the hiking bug. Herriot Way this year and have started planning the Cumbria Way next year. ❤
Congratulations on another amazing film and trail. Your film and enthusiasm for getting outdoors has me smiling for the entire film. I share your fear of water and congratulate you for walking across the sand.
What a coincidence, last week i completed my third section of the pennine way and at the end i saw a sign with st cuthbert's way and it made me curious... one week later another lovely documentary of abbie barnes! The timing couldn't be any better😁
Thanks for this video Abbie, just what I needed today . 1:28:00 I've crossed a lot of railway lines on trail, but never had to phone a signaller. I also had to walk on a railway line in the highlands when I got VERY lost
Awesome video, Abbie! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures, your enthusiasm, and yourself with us. Over the years, your videos have genuinely inspired me to get out into nature despite my fears. I so appreciate all the passion and vulnerability you put into your work! 🖤💜🤍💛
It's lovely to have a new full length film to watch and it was so upbeat and happy! You look really comfortable and it's wonderful to see. Regarding the bracken, I once heard that bracken is normally a woodland species where the shade from the trees stops it from taking over. So when you're imagining how a landscape used to look, replace swathes of bracken with woodland. It just shows how much our landscape has changed. Also Himalayan balsam does provide insects with nectar but its a fast growing, shallow rooted annual which swamps british natives. When it dies over winter, there's no roots left to keep the soil in place and prevent erosion.
Thanks so much for this one, Abbie. I loved it, not only the beautiful trail but seeing you so happy after your operation. You look fabulous! I have to say, I had a little ‘hurrah!’ moment when I realised you were not camping and had a bag transfer - good for you! It must have been a weight off in every sense, and I hope it gave you the chance to enjoy it even more. Also, congratulations on using your drone! Love from CPH, Hannah x
I've so been looking forward to this. Perfect for a rainy evening! I did this trail a few years ago and just loved it. Great to see you looking so strong and happy. ❤
Really loved the video. After some health issues it inspired me to get out and do a proper walk for the first time in weeks. I felt much better for doing so. It was good to see a trail done using Baggage Transfer and B+B’s. For a lot of people this means that these trails are do-able. My wife and I are in our 60’s . The days of camping are long past . With the sort of arrangements you made these trails are still possible for us. Thanks again.
Oh this is really for me, I am apprehensive of all the crowding on WHW. Also, because of scoliosis, I can't have a super heavy pack (nor sleep on the ground), so having my luggage moved and sleeping every night on a real bed is right up my alley. Will definitely plan this
I have used Mac Adventures 4 times with a 5th booked and they have been amazing. Great accommodation, flawless luggage transfers with the companies they use and their app is great with lots of helpful information about your trip and route.
Hi Abbie. It's nice that you mentioned bees in the beginning of your video because thank to bees' pollination roseberries grow. I love the clip of a black dog too.
Wow well done, I'd love to do some of these trails. Inflation and shrinkflation would not allow me at this present moment, luckily some of these trails are right on my doorstep. Stay wild.
i'm so excited to have stumbled upon your channel and you! your joy is infectious and your struggle with mental health resonates with me too. thanks for sharing! I'm encouraged! It's also lovely for this homesick Brit living in Utah to get to see glimpses of the motherland :)
Welcome back to walking! 😊 Thank you for yet another beautifully produced and very enjoyable film. Well done for keeping going across the tidal beach. I hope the free mudbath was worth it 😊
I thoroughly enjoyed that one Abbie... I think being my backyard makes it hit home a lot more. I am hoping to be taking my daughter on the pilgrim way later this week as part of my larger adventure that never seems to end... although sitting on far too much footage just now that needs editing. Well done on your journey and conquering your fear of the tide; it is not an easy thing to face your fears, it takes courage and something to be truly proud. And a beautiful message at the end. Thank you for taking us with you.

Thanks Abbie😊 We meant to watch half tonight n half tomorrow night but bed can wait n we watched it all .. lovely film, the sinking sand at the end was scary.
Really enjoyable watch Abbie. I have done two sections of this walk. The Kirk Yetholm to Wooler section and then onto Lindisfarne, where I followed the Pilgrims route across the bay only to come out the other side to face a sign stating unexploded ordinances might be lying around. Glad you are recovering well and back out. Atb.

Oooh Abbie , I live near Melrose and walk around Holy Island/Northumberland , often,...........i wish i bumped into you for a Stint of Walking!! I'm always looking for Iron Age Hill Forts and Cup and Ring Stones, which is fun,am tired but I'll start tommorow with this video ........
Good luck Abbie on the next chapter. I can’t pretend to understand the despair you must have felt all these years but I sincerely hope that the transition means you can at last tell the world with all sincerity “THIS … THIS is me and I love me!”. Look forward now, and try not to spend time analysing your feelings any more, just be. Look out, look forward 👍🏻🤗
Forgot to say ( and it was the reason I came here to comment 🤣) what a grand little walk that is, beautifully shot and edited as always. I remember Tony Robinson making a film of it too. Happy walking!🚶♀️
Be careful walking across to Holy Island as the tide table is for the road crossing which is more elevated. The tide covers the staked sand crossing earlier particulary the end nearest the island. There's a third crossing too to the north of the road crossing which also has stakes coming out near the Snooks.
You are positively glowing with happiness and enthusiasm Abbie - it’s such a joy to see 🌞 My eldest is non-binary - and I have learnt so much about this over last few years! It’s so important to celebrate our true selves and live the way we feel happiest - and it’s inspiring to see you doing just that 💗You are very brave to have surgery (I am a total coward with anything medical😂) and I’m SO happy it’s gone really well for you - congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉 This walk looks wonderful 💚🌿🌞
@@AbbieBarnesWILDYou’re very welcome 😊 I’m curious that you’ve moved from your previous accommodation into your van - are you planning on making van life vlogs?! (I’m very interested in alternative living ideas). Would be interested to hear your reasons in a future vlog if you ever choose to speak more about this (although I also get that this might be a completely private matter which you have no wish whatsoever to talk about on UA-cam!) 💚🌿

Awesome! Thank you!
Another fantastic post. As always your enthusiasm is very infectious. I can't express enough how much your summing up resonates with me. Since starting to watch your posts during lockdown I have now completed 4 national trails with another booked for next year...the feeling you get is quite addictive! I have booked all these trips through Mac Adventures and can't recommend them enough. Thanks Abbie.
Haha it sure is addictive!! 😂
Excellent video Abbie, what a trail. Stunning.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Again Abbie it was a pleasure to share your walk. Each one gets better and must admit I was also feeling nervous as you crossed the sand but what a joy to see your smile when you got to the island. Fantastic walk and beautifully filmed 😊
Great trip and well done Abbie, I smiled all the way with you. Hope you enjoyed your chips!

Epic walk! Really cool.
Awesome Hike Abbie ! .. 🥰
Very beautiful Abbie. Never knew about this trail. On my wishlist now ❤
It's so good!
Excellent film Abbie. I really got a sense of that path and it's one I will investigate for my own use and I too love Mac's services having use them on the WHW and GGW. Thank you.
Wonderful!
Loved this so much. Thanks Abbie
Love watching your adventures Abbie. I have done a few quite small walks this year including Pendle Hill, Mam Tor, Blackstone Edge. Mostly up to 10 miles (my limit) but just getting out in the fresh air is wonderful and a sense of achievement.
Good luck in your journey. Do what makes you happy 😊
Thanks for being here!
My wife and I did the St. Cutberth's way last year. The ending over the Pelgrim's Way was a nice spectacular ending.
In the not too likely case you got hooked to walking mudflats, I did some hikes in the Netherlands. It is possible to do a day long hike from the mainland to one of the Frisian Islands (Ameland being the most done). For obvious reasons, this is only allowed in organised way under guidance. Still a great experience.
Love this film, you are really inspirational, well done Abbie :)
What an extraordinary likeable person you seem to be. Best of luck, whatever you do. and thank you for sharing Your experiences.
Thank you so much!
Abbbie is on the Abby's (way) ! My fave part of the world with so many paths including the Southern Upland Way. Love to see you hale and hearty.
Very good to see you out, happy, full of energy. You are an inspiration.
Have you looked at the badger divide trail? I think you'd love it x
