- Hey Everyone, in this video we are taking a listen to the Mapex Armory Series. In the Video we have a Limited Edition Garnet Ocean 7 Piece set up which covers a great array of the Tom Sizes on offer. We are showing you the kit in both factory set up with the Remo UT single ply coated drum heads and with an Upgrade to Remo USA Emperor Clear heads.

I have the older 5pc Armory. I have coated Emperors on the toms with Ambassadors for resos. I upgraded the tom hoops to 2.5mm and put a coated Emperor X on the Tomahawk which I crank high and it cuts like a knife with no mics except for the bass drum. We play classic rock and modern Country in small venues and this kit sounds well above its price point. I love the finish on your demo kit and they sound great but too many drums for me to carry around at 77. lol
Beautiful kit. Only complaint is I personally don’t like the Mapex badges. Just my taste but I’m sure I’m not alone.
Makes me want to buy another Armory kit 🤣 This one is beautiful. Stock heads aren't bad (If you know how to tune it). Having said that, I've tried Ambassadors and Emperor's and they are clearly better than the UT's. Well played guys 🙏
Thanks Dilan, they are really great kits, the stock heads certainly do a good job out the box but once you put on some Main stream heads the quality of sound is incredible from these shells. Did you like the Ambassador or Emperor better?
@@drumflix Amb's for the most part. If it was good for Jeff Porcaro, its good enough for me ! 😁. I got Remo Color tone (Emperors) on my DW Acrylic. Even have G1's & G2's on a couple of Tama kit's (Came with them). Seriously a good drummer like Rocky can make any kit sound good 😉
Great sounding kit, ...especially with the Emperors! Are those 18 and 20 Full crashes?

Hi, are the new Armory coming with a tom mount attached to the bass drum as showed in the video?
Hey thanks for your question, We have two limited edition configurations that have the drilled bass drum. The set up is exactly as shown in the video with the deeper toms too - 22x18 drilled, 8x7, 10x8, 12x9, 14x14, 16x16 and Tomahawk - the colour options are the Garnet Ocean shown here or Ocean Sunset which you can see on our website. Standard 628 and 529 configs don’t offer a drilled bass drum spec. Hope that helps
