Thanks for the video, I am revamping a 93 4x4 xlt, I’ve almost went over every inch of it by now, it will be like a brand new 93 f150 when I’m done, I can’t hardly wait honestly, it’s been a ton and a half of work and cost twice what I figured, lol, I would never even consider trying to do it again, I really underestimated the amount of effort it would require. I’m no mechanic, lol, I think I will be a Ford truck Mechanic after this though, lol. Thanks again, I will sub also. I have a channel with a few drone videos, never really put much effort past a couple of videos, but I will post pics of the pickup up there when I’m done if interested. I haven’t decided on paint yet, I may even just go with primer for a while, paint is overrated maybe, lol.
Just what I was wondering earlier today when I found the reason my sifter had so much slack in it, thanks for posting that , I’m off to check them out, thanks again!
Thanks for subscribing. I am a fan of your '92. Best wishes as you work on it. How would you describe the 5.0 aspect? I have more videos coming soon. Have been working on the truck a lot lately. Gaskets, oil pan, mounts, shocks, clutch kit and other stuff to get it running good as a daily driver. Just havent thrown the videos together yet
I know this is an old comment, but if your 92 is a four wheel drive, you can reprogram the speedometer to change the calibration for running different than factory tire sizes. It allows you to change it 6 times only though. If relavent to you just let me know here and I will look for the link to the proper video for doing that and post it here. I have a 93, I started at the rear bumper and went to the front and rehabbed every thing possible on it, I’m almost done.
I have a problem, when I towed my 93 Ford, I thought I had put it in neutral, but when I put everything together the gears did not come in, I started the truck and apparently it is in one gear, is there any advice you can give me to solve the problem?
Hello I have a problem with my f150 2003 5 speed shifter when you drive it for 30 to 40 minutes it doesn’t want to shift in to 1st 2nd and reverse, do you think that I need that what you installed?
Was it hard to find your gears before you installed the bushing? I haven’t taken mine apart yet but it’s really loose and I can’t find first gear or reverse
Good question. It's been a few months since this video posted so this is a good review. I always had problems finding 1st and reverse. I noticed it on the first test drive and figure it would be simple fix. However, I installed the bushings and still had trouble finding 1st. Usually takes a few tries to find it by then someone is Honking haha. So I purchased a rebuilt M50DR2 Trans on RockAuto. Rebuilt by Zumbrota. I installed the rebuild trans over a weekend in Dec 2020. Sad to say I still cant find 1st gear.. Reverse has its own fair share of not going into gear. It's my daily driver. I deal with it at every Red light. I usually go into 4th because I can tell it aligns something. Then I go to 1st and it miraculously goes into 1st smoothly. Next time, I would look for a totally different transmission that would easily fit this truck. The M50DR2 in my experience is nothing but stress. . Good luck finding 1st and Reverse. Im still looking.. everyday.. at every Red light.. lol
@@eseogpanchito not only did I have trouble finding first and reverse, the truck simply wouldn’t go in those gears. After replacing the bushing it works like new. Thanks so much for the video!
Hey guys, pull the shifter and see if the pin inside of the shifter lever is sheered off, the lever has a pin that goes in the slot on the top part of the actual shifter {the small stalk with the ball in the middle} I had the same problem and that was it, I got another shifter from the junk yard and it works fine
Great video but the website for the parts is very confusing can you send me a link to all the specific things you ordered on the website please it would mean the world to me
Exacly what i needed
Awesome! Glad it was helpful.
Thanks for the vid. Just wanted to add when the nut stopped tightening when removing the shifter, I just tapped it and it popped out.
Thank you

Where did you get the parts
Rockauto .com . I believe they are also available at any local auto part store

How to change Tierod in a 1980 jeep cj7 V8 cylinder?
Would this help if my transmission pops out of 5th gear when driving on highway?
Unfortunately I don't think this will help. But this only cost a few bucks so it's worth a try.

Not sure why u didn't fill up the gear oil. Better than going under
You are correct. This is a perfect time and place to top off gear oil.
Where did you purchase the bushing kit? I need to do this so I can start driving my truck again.
Rockauto.com lots of good deals and variety of brands
Thank-you, so much ! Now I can get my truck back on the road, I have been needing it for a long time now.
@@davidharris8861 glad to hear another Ford is getting back on the road 👍will you be making a video?
No, I have no way to record a video.
The odds dropping something down there
If you're shifter rusty then it they all sloppy my dad's 1969 all original still 351 Winsor
Please stop fast forward your voice it's not helping
I will keep this advice in mind for future videos. Thank you for the honesty 👍
Chrome Washer goes first before anything
Thanks. I need to put that wavy chrome washer before the blue bushings. I appreciate you noticing my error. That may help it shift better too.
