I like JTL for your clear, precise way of narrating, and the short self/channel introduction without any dramatic music and sounds in the beginning. You don't keep repeating things said and don't include unnecessary trivial comments like I see in many other channels (I sometimes feel they do that to make the videos longer). Last but not least, I also like your logo and settings with the Sherlock Holmes vibe!

I feel so sorry for Deshawn’s parents! And, when I heard that the drove him to and from school to avoid his walking alone through the neighborhood, I was even MORE upset. They had ZERO chance to protect their son from danger because the Principal changed his release from school (and parents are legally compelled to have their children in school) and put him out, alone on the street to fend for himself. They are 100% responsible for putting him in that clearly dangerous position. The monster who did this deserves the MAXIMUM punishment possible and the School should be held to account, sued, and that Principal FIRED.

@@uniquely__awkwardsimply__b2701 absolutely! Also... with this and 99.9% of these situations the racial narrative is extremely unfortunate. Neither the race of the individual who was shot nor that of the police played any part in the events. ZERO! I think anyone who is being genuinely honest with themselves knows that. Not only does the racism narrative contribute to further division and cause distrust in law enforcement (which in turn leads to an increase in similar actions)... the most destructive cost is that racism is the immediate go to and is yelled so loudly that it drowns out any possibility for a real, true, and honest discussion about the how what and why and how we can improve and prevent this from happening again

Rest in peace to this young man, I really believe like his mother that this principle should have informed his parents and all of the other parents of his classmates before letting them out of school so they could decide what they wanted to do. If they had they could have made a better plan to take those kids in a group to the protest and protect them better. The other parents could have picked their kids up to escort them home. It’s so irresponsible to not inform parents!

The world can be a very scary place. Literally minding your own business, on a public sidewalk, in the middle of the day, just happen to get close enough to some piece of shit who’s having a bad day, had a gun, and feels like taking out their anger on you. Not even the pretense of ‘I thought you were the guy that robbed me’.
Absolutely inexcusable and someone who would kill so flippantly doesn’t belong in society.

As a person who has worked for almost a decade in a school system, even my fellow paras, teachers, principals, and administrators agree, the principal should have sent out a letters home with the students, emails, and/or phone calls left parents know days ahead that the students would be let out early so the parents/guardians could have time to make proper arrangements. I pray the family can find peace, the murderer is going through **** on a daily bases, and that the poor young man is resting in peace.

Well Kevin I've said this before but I don't mind repeating myself. You are without a doubt the most respectful true crime creator on UA-cam. Too often I see creators sensationalize the most horrific details or else they'll use highly inappropriate attempts at humor. And of course it's all for views to make as much ad revenue as possible because money is clearly the only reason they create content in this genre. I'm beyond sick and tired of the victims being exploited and dehumanized in the name of the dollar. So again I thank you for bucking the trend and being so respectful in your videos. Bravo sir, bravo.

Hola, Kevin, and surprised to see an upload from you today since it's the first Sunday of the month! So heard about this case already, and coincidentally another channel I'm subscribed to uploaded this Ebonic-speaking Cody's interrogation yesterday, and I just saw they had to reupload it today due to demonetization.
Anyhow, I will watch and listen to your take on it since you were kind enough to treat us to another upload on what I thought would be your day off. Hope you are doing well!
EDIT: Have to skip through this fool's interrogation portion; it's too unbearable. I feel sorry for whomever his cellmate is.

I'm going to assume this comment comes from the right place, but what you have called "ebonics" is actually called AAVE: African American vernacular. The word ebonics is almost exclusively used to refer to AAVE as ignorant and hard to understand. Calling the dude's dialect "ebonics" just because it is ignorant and hard to understand is tasteless and I really hope it's an accident that you would use a word with anti-black sentiment to it when describing this guy who killed a black teenager.
