I have been putting unvr and cameras in the same vlan, and securing the vlan'access with firewall rules, so for rtsp streaming, you can simply put the client device in the same vlan.

The Synology option is pretty slick, but @ $46 to $59 per cam it can add up!

I can't seem to find any options to add rtsp cameras on Unifi Protect. When I click 'Add Camera', it just tells me to check my camera and wait for it to be adopted. Does it mean that I must have at least one Ubiquity camera? All your other methods works like a charm! Thank you!

Adopting non UniFi cameras to UniFi Protect? No, it's not supported, by Ubiquiti.

UniFi Protect provides RTP on port 7447 if your existing display solution requires it.

@@hz777Agree with others on this. You seem to be very knowledgeable in this space and have a lot of equipment to test that project out. Many folks, including me, want to try to connect non-Unifi cameras to Unifi protect but unsure how to proceed. This github project seems to be a viable option.

@@hz777 Well ultimately its your choice, but you have been doing a lot of these Protect videos, and i subscribed after randomly discovering them. I doubt the creator minds, its just that there is very little coverage regarding it. They do have a discord if you want to join that, i am there as well.
