Why is it so difficult for Ubnt to make the storage folder for the video clips available so we can actually make a REAL backup of the data instead of fumbling around with individual downloads (after a tornado killed the building..)
Thanks a lot for the update! It looks quite interesting. Lots of useful functionality like zero-effort time-sync across cameras. I’d love to see two things. (1) Whitelists instead of [something] of interest, and (2) PTZ auto tracking with external input. 1. Whitelists enable you to filter out things you know about but don’t care, so it is easier to find what you don’t know but do care about. 2. Since innerspace now has a clear distribution map of cameras, it would make sense that detections on fixed cameras could trigger the PTZ auto tracking. That way the auto tracking detection zone gets multiplied, and the tracking history of an event becomes much more interesting.
Hi Clay, love your videos. I have just installed some G5 domes and UP Senses in our environment and having a lot of trouble with notifications. Even though I have set up detection notifications to only occur when I am offsite, I still get notifications when offsite. Many comments on the web suggest that this is an ongoing issue. Have you had any luck in getting this feature to work correctly?
id really like it if the facial recognition would only alert me of faces that I've never seen before. So any user that I haven't gone into the system and named. Is that possible?
LOL, same day as UBNT's YT advertising channel... I left the same warning on the others, be careful with increased capacity of cameras, they have done it by software/firmware only and not hardware. As UBNT have a sour history or firmware screwing, way too easy for a bad realease to undo the capacity increase and have a system bogged. Clay, you drank the coolade, G4 PTZ Industrial, its the same unit. UBNT changed the name again like other products. Remembers, the UNVR Pro used to be the unit with 4 drives.
Yeah, we wall waited till official release. I've had my G4PTZ for almost 3 years, the nam did just change to Industrial as there are rumored new PTZs on the horizion.
Hi Clay, I like to install a few G5 Bullet and G5 PTZ around my House surrounding wall here in Bali. Did you ever have any problems with overheating if those cameras are in direct sunshine during a summer day like it is in here (32 degrees Celsius). Or do I need to cover them with some kind of roof? I've been to the St. Regis! It is paradise. I live in florida and havent had any issues with direct sunlight. I have had some humidity issues with a G4pro befire but havent with any of the G5 units. If you do get any humidity fogging, just let it sit for a few days and it will go away once the device "equalizes" to the humidity. Best of luck with your project!
We're currently trying to decide whether to try out a camera with UniFi Protect, or whether we want to go further down the Apple HomeKit rabbit hole. One sticking point is that HomeKit events get stored in the cloud, which is nice if your devices get stolen/damaged. I saw that you're able to manually copy some video into cloud storage. Is there a way to have it automatically send detection events there, too? That would hit a sweet spot between local & cloud storage, where we could use local storage for 24/7 recording, and back up events to the cloud for extra safety.
Hello! Off the topic here. I was not able to find any information on how to change a greeting voice message on an intercom reader. I know it's made for entrance but I'm using it on a gate, On the enter and exit side. The entrance side is fine where it says welcome. But how do I get it to be the exit reader like the G2 readers? Please help if anybody knows how. Im talking about a voice message greeting that says "welcome "

Fortunately I had some it guys come to my office to fix and heard them talking about dream machine so I got their card to come fix my situation. Honestly I’m not sure Unifi is good for the average residence. I’m relatively tech savvy and I find it a little over my head. Let’s hope these guys can fix!
Have you covered how fast video scrubbing is in protect? I have Unifi, Hikvision and Dahua. Nothing comes close to Unifi Protect when scrubbing through video or searching detections for an investigation. Maybe I've missed it but I do not see anyone talking about.

Anyone knows if they have any plans at all to roll out the longer proprietary type C cable for the AI-Theta hub & cameras? How can they be so reckless about releasing a product claiming "30m apart", make the cable proprietary and then not release the cables for more than a year?????? Shambolic to say the least. What are your thoughts on the recently announced proposed ONVIF support that UI have said may appear in October 2024?
It's a pity you can't record video on 2 devices at the same time. This could help with the loss of the DVR.

They are adding more and more archiving features and options. I think it isn't a stretch to think an automated process will be available soon..
