  • How to make a ladies freesia corsage for special occasion
    Ingredients - double freesia, ivy ( hedera ) leaves, craspedia flower, faux succulent, wires - 0.26 rose wire, pearl headed pin, and parafilm tape
    In this video we look at how to make a ladies corsage, and the classic popular choice was freesia as a special flower When I saw this freesia it reminded me, and it was really the inspiration for the video.
    Watch and see the process I use to create the final corsage. Thank you for watching.

    Ah, John! I've viewed your corsage-making videos previously, and now this one. They only serve to inform me that I'll never quite be up to your caliber. For whatever reason, I've never been able to get a corsage just right. Fortunately, I no longer have to worry about that, but I do very much admire your ability to put one together in such a way that you make it look "easy". Wiring materials takes me back to a time when we wired everything - whether or not it was for a corsage - roses, carnations, etc. all got wired for "support". I'm glad those days have passed! Thanks, Friend,for this one, and for your wonderful talent. I hope things cool off for you soon. Take care!

    I always enjoy watching you make a corsage. I can make them now but it is not intuitive as it is with you. So many now want wrist corsages but a traditional one well made looks great!

      Thank you! I must admit it was one of the first things I learned to make - but I went through phases of hating them - well, hating making them! But now it’s good! I think finding the way that suits you best for making corsages and going with that makes them a lot easier - especially if you have a lot to make! That’s why I love the ivy leaves as a backing foliage - it frames and supports the flowers really well. 🌼🙋🏼‍♂️

    You are wonderfully cheerful despite the hot weather! I wonder if corsages are still being used regularly in weddings--I haven't seen many in the last number of years when at weddings. It's so pretty, especially using freesia--I kind of hope they remain in "fashion." I am very fond of button holes (boutonieres) on men at weddings--extra handsomeness, especially if they're wearing a kilt!! I love this corsage for its bright, fresh look. Thanks John--stay cool!

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  2 роки тому

      It was the bright freshness of the freesia that made me think it would be a perfect flower to use for a corsage. I’m with you - I hope they stay in fashion - and for a man it’s a great final detail for a special event.
      Dress to impress as they say 😀🌼

    Beautiful corsage! Could you please demonstrate how you would own the corsage on the person? I am left handed and have a nasty time trying to pin corsages on for weddings. Thank you for all your great videos! 🌹👏

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you! Yes, I’ve pinned on many a buttonhole - men are not so handy at doing it! The best way to think of it is putting a stitch through from the back with the pin - catching the stem of the corsage as you stick through. In the next corsage or buttonhole video I’ll show how I would do it 😀🌼

    How can you keep the flower fresh… when the stems are so short?

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  8 місяців тому

      This is for using on one day only - so it needs to be made on the day or the afternoon before. The tape helps seal the stem ends, but the flowers need to be well hydrated / conditioned before use. 😊
