  • How to make a ladies double rose corsage with sedum detail.
    Ingredients - 2 small headed roses, small houseleek heads, little bits of sedum, grass seed head, ivy leaves, orange ribbon. 0.26 rose wires, 0.24 stub wire.
    In this video we show you how to create a double rose corsage. We have videos showing wiring of flowers and leaves, so this shows how to put the corsage together. It’s quite simple - following the shape of a branched leaf from behind. With our orange roses and sedum detail we have created a seasonal effect - just perfect for an autumn wedding or special event.
    Enjoy!

    Love your videos. I actually enjoyed making wired corsages. I used Singapore Orchids a lot with ivy, asparagus fern, gypsophila and a sheer ribbon. Finished off with pearl head pins to attach to clothing. Always had scissors especially for wire.

    Thank you, John. That is lovely. I was pleased to see how you incorporated the little bits and bobs into the overall corsage design. I liked that you could switch up the color with any color of those ribbon loops. I was thinking that white flowers with little red ribbon loops would have a candy-cane effect, or that mixing up pastel ribbons might be very pretty for a spring corsage (e.g. for Easter, or for the grandmothers at a Spring baby shower). You long experience at making corsages really shined through.

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  3 роки тому

      Jean Vignes thank you! I think once I realised the method is consistent, then it means you can p,at with the materials to get different effects - so it was nice to make an autumn, orange design - most tend to be pastels and specifically for weddings.
      I like your idea of candy stripes or two tone colour schemes! That could be very striking.
      Stay safe 😀🙋🏼‍♂️🌼

    Fall is in the air! Beautiful, John, and I really like the small sedums and grasses, along with the "feathters, and ribbon loops. I have to admit that I've not been a fan of corsages if only because I've really never had to do them, or at least not at all frequently. When I worked in a shop, the boss almost always insisted on doing them himself. It's fine, really, but I do enjoy seeing them and watching you compose one from a variety of seasonal materals. Thanks very much! Stay safe. Be well!

    HI John:)) Beautiful choice of flowers. Love the color of your roses perfect for the season. The 'lil bits of this and that's are quite nice. Really added so much texture and movement that catches the eye. Quiet the eye catcher I would say...LOL Question. Have you ever made a wrist corsage? The weather in OHIO today is a bit cooler. Not ready for that but it's comin if I like it or not. Anyway I hope this finds you happy and healthy my friend. Stay safe God Bless. Rebekah

    • @FlowerJoos

      Kuge thank you and yes, lots of wrist corsages! 🤪 we have made a wrist corsage video - it’s very similar but just mounted onto a bracelet base.
      It’s started to get a bit cooler here as well - and I like that! Just nice after all this hot weather, and I can do more gardening.
      Stay safe and happy as well, and hopefully not too cold 🙋🏼‍♂️🍂🍁

    Looks wonderful John! Thanks for sharing. If I may, am wondering how did you take apart carnation petals and bind them together? And how do you attach this corsage to the wrist please? 🙏🏼 thanks again!

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  11 місяців тому

      Hello! Thank you - to break the carnation just pull open the lower calyx and take a tuft of petals and pull sideways - then these can be wired into a unit by themselves ( with either a loop of wire sitting parallel or scewered through with a wire then make a loop ).
      If you looking out playlist section there are other wrist corsage videos and these show how best to attach them to a bracelet base. 😀 hope that helps 🌼

    Love your videos and love the final product. How is this corsage attached to a dress?

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  2 роки тому

      Thank you! This would come with pearl headed pin - or it could be attached with a magnet instead but one half of the magnet fitting needs to be taped into the corsage.
      The pin is the traditional fix method - it’s quick and cheap as well 😀

  • @gilliangoodison841
    @gilliangoodison841 2 роки тому +1

    Hi, really beautiful, you are very professional in your approach, can I ask how or what pin you would use to attach this? I have seen Corsage clips but think they have to be incorporated into the design?

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  2 роки тому +1

      Hello - just a simple pin like in the other video - so 40 mm or 55 mm would be fine.
      You are right, the clips need incorporated - the pin is traditional and easy! 😀

    • @FlowerJoos

      Kristina Abbott these are 0.26 which is quite a firm rose wire, but you could use a 0..28 as a finer one to wire the leaves. 😀🙋🏼‍♂️

    @Annaie1234 2 роки тому +1

    Do you have a video on how to wire the ribbons?

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  2 роки тому +1

      Not specifically how to wire a ribbon, but here is a link to one of our bow videos - ua-cam.com/video/9sK6zcOzQHM/v-deo.html
      So in the double loop style you can tie it off with a wire or a thin ribbon - just pinch the middle to bring it together is the way to give a good hold. 🌼
