Most of Highland upgrades are already in Tesla Y since 2023. Suspension was upgraded then for instance.

I picked up a Y P last September. It doesn't look dated, I love looking at it everyday I walk past it. I had a Model Y SR before that, and the design is still not old or tired to me. Instead of a highland steering wheel busy with buttons, mine is clean and minimal with only scroll wheels and stalks. I don't care for the "highland" center console either ... so IMO nobody can go wrong with the current Model Y. Given the changes that are coming, I plan on keeping this Y P for a long long time.
Ordered a M-Y Perf in Quicksilver white int w/ tow hitch during 0.99% 72 month financing offer. Will save us over $8K vs 6.39% loan. Too good to pass up. Delivery scheduled 6 June. Will sell our blue w white int 2020 M-Y Perf a little earlier than originally planned. Probably keep new one 6 years till 2030.
I know what you mean. I'm just waiting because my current lease has not expired. I would have to pay $22K to get out of the lease. That's not happening.
I'm waiting for the Juniper mostly for the ventilated seats.. I wonder if they'll keep the BYD LFP battery (I'm in Europe) or will they shift to the new CATL battery?
I hope it comes soon, but i'm doubtful. Besides, it turns out this photo is not of a new model y, it's a nothing burger. Probably just paint testing.

You can add one of several OBD based dongles to provide wireless access for a phone app and then mount your phone behind the steering wheel. “Just buy a Tesla” recently showed one off on his channel.
@@slowercuber7767 I know, and I am familiar with these, but I don’t want that. I want a Tesla factory HUD. Given how great the center screen interface is, Tesla could make a great HUD.
As a 2022 M3LR owner, it's CRIMINAL that Tesla doesn't offer this as a buy-up option.
It’s indefensible that there is not a heads up display on it very least the performance models. This is a tribally easy thing to do and if you build it in, it would look so much better. I’m not the least bit interested in any half assed aftermarket solution.

The difference in design between new Model Y and Model 3 should be bigger...
We would love a y for its larger storage space and road clearance. This I'd major for us, but when buying we could only afford the 3. To us they are quite different.

It would be nice for them to look a little different from the front. I think the smaller lights from the new Model 3 would look out of place on the Model Y. Hopefully the Model Y will have its own design language, at least on the front end.

Air suspension!! Would love to raise 4 or 5 inches during really snowy days at the ski resorts or when needed off-road in summer. Also, steer by wire would be a very welcome upgrade!
Tesla needs to move the B-pillar cameras to the A-pillar or somewhere around the front wheels, a driver shouldn’t have better visibility than the whole suite of cameras.
yeah its a bit odd why they have it about 6" behind the drivers normal visibility. Then wonder why it has had a hard time seeing around corners. A piller would be perfect.

I test drove a M3 refresh. I’m not saying the no-stalks isn’t different but I could adjust. If I had the chance to change things I would:
1. Put the turn buttons on the upper left and right corners of the steering cross bar. Then you could find them without thinking about it.
2. Have voice commands added to the software for turn signals, wipers, volume, climate control etc
3. Add HUD
Same. People that say the no-stalks is a deal breaker, probably havent driven one.

I love the look of the new M3 and if the new MY has the same features along with a new battery architecture and extended range then I’m sold on the Juniper
And what about the battery pack? Will be the same for the Juniper version? I cant believe Tesla dont jump to better batteries from Catl and 800v platform… is the moment. At least as an option to buy.
Tesla cheaps out on new technology, I am sure they will not have 800V Model Y while the rest of the world will implement 800V in their mid-size vehicles for 45k. Tesla is just crazy outdated

2024 M3 SR, mine doesn't have car wash mode in the main menu, still in the "service" menu. Any idea why this is?
Ride quality and cabin noise improvements have to be made to the Y before I buy.
Ryan, what's going on with the S and X models? Are they going to get the new 48-volt architecture and drive-by-wire features? Understandably, you talk a lot about the 3 and Y, but I'm really curious to see what vehicles will benefit from these new cybertruck features that ultimately will be cheaper to produce and benefit the consumer.

I wonder if Tesla will let you upgrade some components with the newer model components at some point. I'm thinking like rear door glass for sound. If the mounting points are the same it would also be badass to eventually offer the suspension as an upgrade you can install on existing models. Tesla could get a few grand out of me easily that way, but my MYP is too new to full on replace for a couple nice, but still very iterative upgrades.

I canceled my model Y purchase after I heard about Juniper, but as soon as I heard it won't release till 2025 I bought the Model Y Performance on Mother's Day. Love it. If later it's worth the upgrade then I'll trade it in.
You’ll lose a FORTUNE if you try to trade it in. Teslas have incredibly low resale value.

I want to take a road trip to Vernal, Utah, but it's a bit isolated for charging, except that a SCer station was pending. I expected this to be axed, but I was wrong. The Vernal SCer just opened!
Range and charging speed needs to improve on the new MY.
If Tesla is going to keep up with the EV's comming out of China. Most of them have 800 V architecture, and really fast charging speeds. Something that really matters when doing longer hauls on roadtrips.

Waiting for Juniper. If it means next year, so be it. Soon other brands will start making their cars with NACS plugs. It will really be wide open come then. I can push this 12 yr old Benz for another 8 to 18 months if i have too.

Part of me wants to push off the my for the he rivian R2. Even after juniper, likely won’t be as well styled as the R2 is. New lights are a bit slim for the high roofline on m3… my will be that exaggerated

I'm not keen on the supercharger network being opened up to other vehicles. In the UK, have noticed 10-20% of chargers becoming unavailable due to cars parking the wrong way. Perhaps with V4 chargers (longer cable) it can work, but they need to paint instructions on the pavement to tell people to charge from the left. In any event, need a load more chargers in more locations as queueing for a spot is now becoming common-place.
I just grabbed a 2024 model Y. The interest rate is 0.78% which is super great deal.
My Grand Cherokee lease ends this December. By then we should have a lot more information on the project juniper. I can then decided if I want to get the current model Y which I'm sure there will be great deals, or wait till the 2025 model Y to releases.
Wish they would create a comfort suspension mode for the long range (if that’s even a thing).

The camoflage Model Y in your video is not camouflaged. It's just painted in different colours. It has painted text at the trunk that says something like "This is the end". I visited Gigafactory Berlin on Thursday. They are definitely making some changes in the line because our visit was rescheduled from Friday to Thursday and we were not allowed to see paintshop so hopefully some new colour like yellow on that car mentioned earlier.

I would love to buy a Tesla especially the Model X however a certain family member has said absolutely NO! She has never said a thing about buying a motorhome, a boat, or other high priced things including a second house in Florida but “We will not be giving any money to Elon Musk period, end of story”. In her mind she sees Elon as not somebody we should ever do business with and totally against everything she feels strongly about. So I guess when we get an EV it will be anything except a Tesla.
I wanted to buy the MY24 due to .99% interest but I just missed the promo. So here’s looking forward to the Juniper MY25!

I gave up waiting and bought a 2024. But if the changes are significant enough, I might trade my current Model Y on a new one, particularly if the range sees a significant improvement. Form is not as important to me as function. So I would not trade just to get some fancy lighting inside or a new body shape.
I couldn't commit to a new MY at this point and I'd never owned a Tesla, so was unsure if I'd like it (I love it!). I leased a MY for two years. I'll make a new decision then.

Hey Ryan, I am waiting for the Juniper refresh before considering the Model Y. The lack of an indicator stalk is my one issue, though. It might be OK in North America, but it's pretty dangerous in a lot of Europe where safely indicating your intentions when inputting a steering change is really important and commonplace. It's the one thing you need to be able to do without looking back into the vehicle, and by touch alone to a location that's independent of the steering wheel position. I'm pretty sure you couldn't even pass your driving test in the UK without the indicator stalk, to comply with where your hand positions need to be. Elon needs to drive in the UK more often and experience the joy of roundabouts and maybe rethink this one! All joking aside, it was pretty unnerving on my recent Model 3 test drive and must have been worse for the other drivers around me on a busy roundabout that I had to cross! Cheers!
Absolutely waiting for the Juniper to be released in U.S. I'm patient and in no hurry. Doubly waiting (hoping) for Midnight Cherry color as well, but that's not a deal breaker.
Would buy a Tesla immediately if it has the 48 volt board network and, above all, a bidirectional charging connection.
An eCar with a bidirectional connection has a unique selling point over all other vehicles. Only they can store energy when it is generated +release it when it is needed

Waiting for Juniper Model Y Long Range AWD.
So torn. I have a 22 MYP but unsure if I want to 1) trade it for a new M3P, 2) wait for new MYP, or 3) go with a different brand all together. The latter would be a whole separate dilemma.
In Australia, I bought a new Y in March 24, missed the Govt incentives that finished in December 23, & then the price dropped in May. 😢
