Rimac have just unveiled their robotaxi called "verne" - see review by CARWOW & Top Gear on youtube
Were the wiper issues really "unforseen"? They didn't do any calculations or lifespan testing?
The TAX CREDIT and other government incentives AREN'T a PRICE CUT! PLEASE quit confusing buyers by spouting Tesla's "talking points". Also, "expected savings" (of electricity costs vs gas) ARE NOT price cuts.
Sure it MAY be POSSIBLE to get those incentives, providing you qualify for all of them (based on location and income), but TESLA's prices aren't cut, so MANY, if not most, buyers won't qualify for these incentives. Also, the estimated "gas savings" depends on how fuel efficient your existing vehicle is. If it is a large vehicle (~15mpg), it'll be large, if it is a small, fuel-efficient vehicle, not as much, though it should be at least a 50% savings.
PRICE CUTS are what the manufacturer offers. INCENTIVES are what the (local/federal) governments/utility companies offer. There is a huge difference between the two.
Anyway, my $.02...
They still need to remove the 5 year gas saving BS.
yep, combined with supercharging costs and the constant mystery drainage that happens when parked, there's really no fuel savings at all
And add the cost of municipalities adding on extra taxes to cover for the loss of fuel tax revenue.
Is one click on a mouse too tough?
Just set the gas price to 1 dollar and it cancels it out
What about higher insurance cost? If you want to have to fun with tesii good luck keeping your premium lower.
I have had 5 recalls on my RAM 2019 truck... so... nature of the biz.
Yeah literally every hater comes out of nowhere and ignores that literally every manufacturer has more physical recalls than Tesla.
Those haters should probably look up the ford pinto recall
In fairness, if you are holding Stellantis as the industry norm for recalls, that's setting a low bar.
Gas cars have tons of recalls
@@MikeRadioNY yep, Tesla has the least number of physical recalls to vehicle impacted counts of any manufacturer selling more than 1 million vehicles annually. All any haters do is talk about Tesla while they are performing the best, ffs, leave the bias out of it.
Ryan, I want to thank you for your informative and CALM videos. I’m so fed up with the screamers, misleaders, and click-baiters.
Regulators may have to start requiring battery details on the window sticker and that on-line sellers provide a way to view that sticker before delivery.
Should be in the VIN
@@uni4rm Yeah, it just has an E for electric. Each type (or combo) should have a letter.
Sooo... How do we get a Model Y for 18k? I think I missed it?
Right lol that’s what I wanted to know too

California only and you must qualify for a bunch of different programs with a gas car trade in
❤️❤️❤️ Firefighters 4 Jesus! ❤️❤️❤️ ❤️❤️❤️ Firefighters 4 Trump! ❤️❤️❤️
Basically if you don't qualify for the EV tax credits, Tesla will give you a worst charging car. That's kinda messed up.
Must be nice to make over $150k a year to not qualify for the EV tax credit.
@@leomajor88 Must be nice to identify as a victim
Where did it say you were forced into the worst charging car?
@@importon yes, it must be nice to identify yourself as a victim
@@leomajor88 The limit is AGI, so their income is likely much higher. So, to your point, not qualifying on the the basis of the income limit is definitely a nice problem haha.
Telsa make a lot of sense. In my case, I bought a fleet of Tesla as a "commercial vehicle", not qualify for $7,500 at the time-of-sale. However, regardless of battery origin, we are qualify for full tax credit . Just has to wait a bit for my tax return.
And Californians wonder why the state is going broke at the same time taxes are being raised 🤣
Alternative facts or wet dreams?
It must be a fairly easy fix I've been watching Joe tiemeyers flyovers and production of the cybertruck has not slowed down at all.
I think they introduced a new part (upgraded motor?) on 6th June, and really it was probably just as simple as swapping the parts bins over as usual. Though I have a feeling Joe noticed a pause earlier in the month lasting a couple of days.
299 for the new model 3 Tesla lease is still one of the best deals out there. (On a new car) buying a 5 year or newer vehicle is the worst financial decision you can make. 😂
The strange aspect of Michigan is the state doesn't have rebates but the individual power companies do. Both buying an EV and for installing a charger.
is the DAC program out already ?
What battery type do you recommend?.
What battery make does the 24 MP3 have?
Tesla waived our last 2 payments on the Plaid, and gave $7500 lease incentive that bought down the rate on a new Model 3 RWD. So it does work out a bit when leasing.
I checked the links but what is that website you were seeing what credits you could possibly qualify for for EVs
Since every leased Tesla qualifies for the $7500 credit, does that mean that all these vehicles will be saddled with LG battery packs??
That is my question, but he said Panasonic are for the cars that do qualify?
Are the LG packs a different chemistry than the Panasonic ones? Are they still 2170 size but LFP?
I dont know!

@@BrunoHeggli-zp3nl hahaha. Thanks for your informational reply...wth...
I love your videos Ryan 😍
that $10000 incentive to trade in ICE old car in California (Clean Cars 4 All ) is for poverty family only, the requirement is 3x federal poverty line, which for a family of 3 is $25,820, 3 times is $77,460, how many families in California has income lower than that and still want to buy a Tesla?
lol the discourse in these comments. Went from “cybertruck is made better than everything else”….to…”well other cars suck too” 😂
Cybertruck sucks less?!!?😂😂😂😂😂
I think the product itself is... fine. The problem is that much of the discourse around the Cybertruck was that it will be a worldbeater that is tougher, is better made, and will out-perform everything from heavy duty trucks to sports cars. Now it is "merely" a competent electric truck with some teething issues that... probably could have used a bit more time to bake. But nothing horrible. But that delta between "hands-down the best vehicle ever made for doing anything" to "a decent addition to the options currently available in the electric truck market" feels pretty awful...
I wish that in addition to the financial savings that the estimated reduction in carbon dioxide emissions was included in the saving’s calculation. At 19.3 pounds of carbon dioxide per gallon of gasoline the total number of pounds becomes significant. I realize that the source of electricity plays into this but there needs to be a starting point.
No mention of the battery degradation rate of LG vs. Panasonic? Would personally prefer a battery that degrades less than one that could charge a little faster at a DC supercharger.
It would be nice to be able to afford an EV without incentives. Are the registration and tax fees based on the point of sale deductions?
Another thing that I haven't heard much of is insurance, which also adds to the monthly payments. I know there have been a lot of changes that insurance companies have made which have raised the rates by a significant amount.
I did not qualify for tax credits since my income is too low to pay tax (can not even dream about refunds). So there are people that do not need the Fed Tax credits ( neither can I afford a CT even with the $20K reduction for "regular editions" available at the end of this year.
I had someone in a my state ( that gives rebates on Teslas) tell me this isn't about what taxes you may or may not pay. Call someone in your state government if they have any offices dealing with energy efficiency. The tax credit is really a government subsidy to get folks into American made EVs.
Meet with an accountant and set your federal taxes as exempt until it reaches $7500. Be sure to meet with an accountant or calculate it right or you could owe way more if not careful. Easy way and more money in your pocket
They don't talk about the increase in insurance each month
I think if I get a CT I will wait a little bit.
3:36 Did you say "Unforeseen problems"?! You don't have to be an engineer to see it coming.
Gas savings is not immediately it's BS . It's a big scam on price of the car. Which they like fooling customers
384 KB? I seriously doubt that. You're talking about something like an IBM 360 mainframe computer (1960s - 1970s vintage).
Did the Cybertruck on your bookshelf get recalled too?
Nice shirt!👍🏾
I’m guessing if you lease, you’ll likely get the LG battery. Smart move, if not a bit devious.
🎉🎉🎉no more sponsors for part of video 🕺🕺full video sponsors now
California no longer giving grant . I just checked.
I have a rental Model Y in Houston and to be honest.... it feels very cheap on the inside. Kind of disappointed in the build quality, the seats are terrible. The base of the seat is way too narrow and i'm not a big guy. Though the supercharger i used was fantastic compared to the electrify America one i used in the Mercedes EQE.
1:08 mixing batteries like this is going to make the used market a big pita. imo this is not a good move for the consumer, even if it makes sense as a company right now, it may bite them later.
No one is going to care when they are shopping for a used vehicle. When it’s used you can’t always get exactly what you want
@@Michael-pi8ps having to replace the battery is the NUMBER ONE concern for used EV buyers 😂
Good luck buying these in used market and trying to figure out which version of Tesla you are buying...
Will Tesla bring back referral rewards?
Musk answered that recently. Yes, probably next quarter or the following one. He did point out that there’s a cost to running it and it effectively makes the cars more expensive to the new buyer, so it sounds like it’s likely to come and go for a while and probably disappear for good at some point.
LG is known for making crappy ass batteries. Look what happened to all of their smartphones. 😂
How can I tell if my long range 2024 MY has the Panasonic batteries
Ita hard to avoid the conclusion that Tesla has lost its way and really squandered a great opportunity. I love my model x, but there's basically no chance I'll ever buy another one.
Vision is excellent but the man can do better
My rav4 was recalled due to wiper motor issue...bet there were more rav4s recalled than cybertruck
No shit Sherlock. The first Rav 4 came out in 1995!!
@@jokulhaups309 mine is not that old. The point is legacy have recalls for similar issues, not a big deal...Watson
@@appl314 Toyota rav4 recall 2009-2012 15v-577 . 😂 so over a decade old vs a truck that’s 6 months ? Nice comparison
@@jokulhaups309 it was tongue in cheek.. my rav4 was not a new model year and had recalls and a class action suit for price fixing..
How to tell if it is LG or Panasonic?
$17490 model y? What???
Is there any actual, scientific and professional independent data that supports the quality difference between battery suppliers? Or are we simply reporting on anecdotal reports and comments from people or organizations who likely haven’t even tested a single unit from each battery type?
Ever consider doing updates for Canadian buyers too? I’m sure you have lots of subscribers like myself. You’ve got in my opinion some of the best Tesla content but very little of your content is applicable to Canada🤷🏻♂️
Not a lot of Tesla service centers. Many states have no service centers.
And good luck actaully getting an appointment. 90% of the time the bot dismisses your concern and sends you to a help article. The other 10% of the time, you get a human to text you something from their script where they question you several times to try and get the appointment canceled. They are incentivized to not give you service.
@@importon Didn't know it was that bad. Wow! I think Elon needs to understand the need for customer service, not just automation. I have Starlink but there was no customer service number or email address published when I signed up. Maybe there is now.
None cared about the recalls :DDD 5Stock is UP 5% the same day ;) Just for history's sake.
11:58 Revel will only take over more losses from Tesla. The charging business is a money loosing operation right now. The fast technology evolution is making the infrastructure old and obsolete in a couple of years and the massive cost of building and maintaining the infrastructure
What a Joke lol
Hi Ryan…. Thanks for the video.
These failures on Cyber Truck are not related to the innovative design.. Gas pedal breaking off, trim pieces falling off, wiper motor not being strong enough to power the huge wiper. They are basic design and assembly issues that should have been discovered during testing. This is something Tesla seems to always struggle with.
They removed radar and USS BEFORE getting the vision inputs perfected.. and it still isn't.
Having vision, and radar and USS would be better.. even if it primarily uses vision. Radar and USS have a lot of benefits in tight parking areas, and limited visibility situations, fog banks, snow, rain etc. For collision avoidance especially.
What exactly is a disadvantaged community?
Wow, all those incentives for disadvantaged.. wow.. something feels off.. No such thing as something for free.. I betcha is tax payers end up paying for it all.
Maybe the initial high price was to compensate for the many expected issues that they have to pay for.
Please compare cybertruck (no. of recal and issue) with first Gen I Toyota Prius.
I my case, I have 7 recalls (in Japan) in the first year my Prius ownership and it was return to the dealer for 90days. Toyota offer to swap a new Prius for me after they cannot find the problem.
My swapped (new) car is a bit better in the first year (2 return to dealership recall) the drive quality is worse with the "upgraded" software
Don't even meniton about the look of the first Gen Prius, No no no.. I was forced to have it as a company car.
First gen Prius was 1997 to 2003. it was basically a test bed to prove the basic design worked. The second gen 04-09 was a TANK. I got 425,000 miles out of min... I know someone with an 07 with 580,000 on it. They still used that same basic design.
Comparing a NEW vehicle that cost $100K to a vehicle designed 30 year ago seems like a stretch. Also.. The recalls on Cybertruck are things unrelated to its unique features.. Gas pedal breaking??? and trim pieces falling off. This is not high tech stuff.. this is basic assembly stuff... and it is where Tesla has always struggled a bit.
The California EV credit deal sounds a lot like cash for clunkers.
It also sounds a lot like Taxpayers getting the shaft.
Do you work for Tesla?
Can someone please explain how AI could be a make or break for Tesla..their cars alone have brought them billions, so how could they be wrecked by AI not working out for them?
Tax payer welfare to help billinaires
I thought their goal was to make it easier. This is so dumb:/
Nice shirt. Good idea to dress up.
Funny how it took 4 years to get it put into production and it still comes out like this
Its amazing
Not exactly a huge deal, they created something that looks like nothing else whether you like it or not, still an achievement to show a prototype and deliver a vehicle that actually looks it. Fantastic achievement and an awesome example of American ingenuity.
Funny how other car manufacturers take 5+ yearsto make a new model, they don't end up looking like their prototype & they have MORE recalls... but underinformed rubes think cybertruck is somehow worse 🤷♂️ 😂
@@EricEstesEleutherianprecisely this!
4 years to production is not particularly long. Especially considering it’s completely different from anything else that anyone has ever made. And there was a global pandemic in the middle
Light Duty vehicle LOLOLOLOLOL, In California it gets registered as a Commercail Vehicle and you get it up the ass for registration $1200 A YEAR
This is horrible, they only sold 11000 Cybertrucks until now!
And did you expect it to be in the hundreds of thousands after six months? If so, you need to take a look at industry norms for new product ramps.
Then you need to factor in the additional complexity of the Cybertruck, and all the work that is entailed in refining production and ramping up the rate.
We know that they recently hit 1300 in one week, and we can surmise that they started in December at perhaps 10-20 per week. By the end of the year they will probably have exceeded 2000 per week.
Ford sold 13,258 F-150 Lightning trucks during the first 12 months of production, starting from May 2022.
And can someone explain the logic about the tax credit being income limited?
It's the US Gubmint in a Democrats administration. So there is no logic involved.
I wish Elon would take AI out of Tesla. I can't help but feel the lack of progress on the cars are a direct result of the spending on FSD, AI, and robots. We should have refreshed models, new models, more factories, more paint colors, etc. But we don't.
Honestly, spin TeslAI out into a separate company, spin robotics out into a separate company, and spin the Supercharger network out into a separate company. Tesla is, weirdly, a relatively mature manufacturing corporation, now, and Elon has actually very little experience or skillset managing that. He should focus is "big idea ambition" elsewhere and let other managers take over the day-to-day of Tesla engineering and manufacturing. And let Superchargers become a separate company now that NACS will become a common standard to most NA electric vehicle manufacturing, anyway.
As a shareholder I could not disagree more. The AI side of the company will bring huge benefits across the board and will dwarf the automotive side of the company in financial terms.
It’s largely mythical this notion that Tesla needs another 20 models and all the usual automotive industry bullshit. The Y is getting due a refresh, but by industry norms, it’s not yet overdue. The 3 is new, and S and X both have been refreshed (and frankly we could lose them both and see better results), the Cybertruck is new and selling extremely well.
We know there are three or four new vehicles coming and the Semi will enter full production next year.
The AI etc is essential to making Tesla hold its lead over the long term.
Who cares about models and paint colors. Those are not important. Tesla is focused on pushing the industry forward not becoming just like all the other foot daggers.
Tesla recalled cars over glue and wipers. No really massive problems. When has a recall been a good look for an OEM.
It didn't take u long enough to show ur real colors. Just another utuber more concerned of views.
Normal tax payers footing the bill for DAC status people to get a hand-out.
What's your beef with disabled adult children?
You’re keep forgetting to mention that EV credit only applied, if you are poor
If you are poor? What do you mean
Stop with the fake crap
Elon is such a child. The fact that he fired an entire team over an argument after signing supercharger deals with multiple companies is insane.
So the employee argued with the boss and got their team fired? 😮how shocking 🙄
If they were toxic…you need a team that is focused on moving forward
You have zero understanding of business. You should read his book, he explains his process, it's actually quite effective. It happened at Space X too
Apple hasn’t made massive changes to their iPhone yet they sell like hot cakes, why? Apple App Store. The network effect.
So it’s smart to have other manufacturers use Tesla charging network …network effect
The whole magnificent 7 is based on network effect which accounts for 25% of the SPY. This is called metcalfes law
Tesla is a dog. Dump the stock as soon as you can.
