you can always copy your copies of your game to a R4 styled Gameboy cartridge that contains all your games so you can play all of them on the go with 1 cartridge to maintain some authenticity
Hello, I have a question, could you write a Pokemon Crystal game and have the clock work in real time? And if so, would the Perfect Dark game work to do this?
This is some really cool stuff, but i wish that something like this was available for other retro consoles such as the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, PC Engine/TurboGrafx 16 and maybe even the Neo Geo MVS/AES. I wonder if reproduction cartridges for other systems can be re-flashed in a similar way to what is shown in the video?
So when you hit "Write Rom" and implement at .gba file, will it do all the work of removing the data of the last game and formatting the file for the cart all on its own? Meaning, if I have my gba file ready to import, its as simple as hitting "write rom" and dropping the file?
Thanks! Which carts are you using to flash them? Might be a size disparity between the cart's capacity and the ROM file size (although I doubt it as you seem well versed on it). Mac or PC? Does it do it with all ROMs or just one or two particular ones? Have you tried one of the "official" GBA carts from Retro Game Repair Shop? Pricey but well made stuff.
Thank you for your reply :) I work from PC, had to google a fair bit to get some old gb carts i had from china to work, they were very old revisions and needed some soldering on a couple of pads for reasons that remain a mystery to me. For the gba games i haven't tried any "official" carts as you put it, though coincidentally I picked up the mother 3 game from aliexpress not long ago and have been making attempts on it without much success. Tried several sizes of games, the few games that flash over don't save properly, I think it has something to do with patching the rom itself to save to flash instead of battery? Information is hard to find :/
Hello! Typically, no, as the chips are locked by the Big N. However, there are bootleg board out there that have ROM chips on them that aren't locked and can be erased and reprogrammed. A good source for them is AliExpress, which is where I got the boards shown in this video. Hope this helps!
I sure am! It's on the list for upcoming videos. I'll be tackling the four things every Xbox needs to fix first before upgrading, then upgrading the HDD - with an SSD! :)
If I had a cartridge of the minish cap on GBA and I wanted to remove the game off of there. Then, I possibly inputted Emerald into there. Would it work hypothetically on the cartridge if the original ROM was backed up of the Minish Cap on my computer and can play it with an emulator? (I don't have the Minish Cap. It's just an example.)
Yes, it would. One of the core functions of this reader/writer/flasher is that it dumps the ROM from the cart accurately and completely. Then you can play the ROM in the emulator of your choice that supports GBA games. Very cool stuff.

Can we pleaseee get tutorial on how to get san andreas and bully and other ports on vita if youtube allows it? Pleeeeeeeaseeeeee
The innovation for these are so neat. Thanks for sharing these videos and making them so easy to follow along to!
I agree, and thanks for your kind words! :)
This sounds better than a flash cart if you are willing to only have 1 game on you at a time. (More authentic to the real experience)

Now I can flash my own Shantae cartridge
That's right! :)
Your Sick 🤕 I love that game
sell me one
Do the mother 3 gba carts have batteries too?
I've made a couple of retro inspired games, I've just been playing them on my Miyoo Mini but it'll be cool to play them on my GBC. Thanks for this
I just clicked the fastest I've ever did on a video, I hope this video is exactly what it says it does!
Do the bootleg mother 3 comes with a. Battery?
This is super cool! I had no idea this was even a thing.
Hello, I have a question, could you write a Pokemon Crystal game and have the clock work in real time? And if so, would the Perfect Dark game work to do this?
Yes, only if you buy a blank cartridge that has a RTC and battery installed. Retrorepairgameshop has them
Would I be able to put pico-8 games on here?
Would you happen to know where to find flash able full size gb boards? Been wanting ro use my custom shells.

That would be cool to have them for those systems. There must be ways to do so as there are those X-in-1 multigame carts.
So coukd i write pokemon emerald legacy to a gba cart with a working rtc?

This overwrite the old game or write at the free space? I thought those cartridges were read only memory
can you use bootleg carts?
Can you flash gbc games on gba cardtridge?
Are you able to play the games that you back up on your computer? and if so what emulator would you recommend?
How can I get a similar game boy
awesome tutorial! have you considered making a tutorial on how to make a video cartridge for the gbc?
As always, just a perfect video. Thanks
Sweet tutorial, done a few of these myself. The GBA games kinda struggle when flashing over though, any idea why that might be?

I will sure dig into it! :)
Can you take a Nintendo cartridge and rewrite the rom?

do an upgrade video to upgrade original Xbox hard drive?
I sure am! It's on the list for upcoming videos. I'll be tackling the four things every Xbox needs to fix first before upgrading, then upgrading the HDD - with an SSD! :)
Hey i really need to know if you can make a video about how to use a 64gb sd card on the dsi xl, if not its fine but it would really be helpful
How can I add multi roms?
I can't save in Pokemon fire red
Be cool to make a menu that would allow more than 1 ROM to be loaded onto a cart
Does anyone know if this works with Pokémon Crystal Legacy?
Did you ever get a response? I'm wondering the exact same thing right now
Can i re write a original gba cartridge game to another gba game?
I don’t think so because the official Nintendo carts are Read Only Memory (ROM) where as reproduction and custom carts are rewritable!
If I had a cartridge of the minish cap on GBA and I wanted to remove the game off of there. Then, I possibly inputted Emerald into there. Cool 🎉
Thanks! :)
Youre awesome Blaine! this is so cool.
(Unrelated comment, but do you know if its possible to mod a PS4 yet and add PS3 ISOs to it?)
Cool!
Thanks! :)
This is cool, but I'd be more interested in an NES/SNES writer. I don't get the game boy out much anymore😅
I'll be looking into it soon! :)
