Truthfully Arcane Odyssey is an incredible game. I love everything about it. Sure there are some imperfections here and there. But I can honestly overlook it. Because I do genuinely love playing the game. As updates kept coming out later and later, with more or less "less content than expected" I was majorly worried about why it was happening, specifically in relation to Vetex. He's been non-stop coding fixes for certain moves in the game. So he literally hasn't had time to work on the part of the game he enjoys, (Literally putting in more content and progressing the story of the game). What's more, a good majority of the "broken moves" are honestly just a skill issue. I'm not INCREDIBLE at PvP, but I can tell that there's some stuff that the toxic community complain about that can be solved by learning to block, dodge or parry a move. It's sickening. Then they proceed to only put out negative comments everytime vetex so much as breathes... I completely agree with vetex on this. It's about time that the PvE part of the community got some love. Cause while all the toxic PvPers were complaining about the slightest change to a move. We were waiting quietly for new content. Great work on bringing light to the situation Magmurrr. And in truth, yeah. I feel like Vetex needs to make a video/Q&A on this. It sucks that the toxic PvP'ers are there but he shouldn't abandon the rest of his community because of it. Truly and truthfully the fact is the number of people who support him will always outnumber the amount against him. Cause the proof is there. The fact that people are still playing the game.
I couldn’t agree more. No matter how much you try to appease your audience you cannot please everybody, there will always be someone present to give you negative feedback and most of the time it’s not even a problem on the devs or games part. I didn’t even realize that people thought that there was a content shortage or whatever because in my opinion the game has lots of existing content to enjoy, it’s just that people aren’t willing to try out something new and experience the game in all of its entirety. Vertex can only do so much to keep up with the demands of people so I’m a little devastated that the community is becoming more insufferable by the second just because they’re tired of replaying on a new file when they haven’t even had fun yet.
As a PvE player, I enjoy this game for the storyline. This is what an Odyssey is about. I honestly dont care about the pvp, I can pvp decently but im here for hunting npcs and fight the boss of the game. I just let my character be a character of the story, no level grinding (except for the time against Argos), just explore the world. This game would be more fun if you think like the character itself, having worse equipment than the bosses and making the fight harder is what would happen in the storyline. Exploring new islands, scavenging for whatever loot you find in chests along the journey. PvP isnt the main point of this game anyway.
The game is dogshit, the storyline was so fun, but the sheer amount of issues(poor optmization, awful combat, bugs, etc) ruined the experience a lot, which is a shame, because vetex really has potential. I was a massive fan of AA, as flawed as that game was. When i heard about AO i was hyped, constantly waiting for sneakpeeks and news about the game, when it came out my reaction was "this is an annoying game, but it has potential, can't wait for vetex to fix some of the issues about the game". And that day never came. Its been like what? 2 years? And everytime i join again is always "why is the game so laggy" "why is the combat so miserable and getting worse" "why is there no actual good new stuff that is worth grinding for?" . So yea, AO is a shit game that had potential but that was thrown out the window because vetex doesn't know what to do. And frankly? I dont blame him, he's a solo dev, so its obviously too much work when people are constantly nagging about issues. But just because that is true, doesn't mean i can't criticize the game

5:53 As a forum user who's been active for three years now, Vetex replying to negative comment are usually the only time Vetex even interact with the community, there is nothing he interact that is unrelated to negativity. It's always him "correcting" them and this include non PvP stuff like the ingame storyline, saying about "story not done" and "buildup" in why the story felt poorly executed, and that it will be "good" in the future felt dismissive of the criticism and felt like "It's my game, so it's whatever I want" and proceed to continue with replying to every thread explaining why they're wrong and at this point it became "I'm the author, so I'm 100% correct" even if they're made in goodfaith rather than to doompost. I do believe he need to be in touch with the community more. He basically paint himself as this person who do whatever he wants and those who oppose can just shut up and you have to meatride him on whatever he says. AO official Twitter retweeting arts is a small step to the right direction, but it will need him to do more than just that.

(This is a guess and has no factual evidence, but) I think the problem with testers is that they don’t do regular progression, so anything in the dark sea and in the storyline gets missed because they just give themselves max level and all the loot. Why waste hours in the dark sea actually doing what you are meant to when you could give yourself a bunch of stuff and be done in 10 minutes, right?
Been playing since day one, the biggest issue I have personally is that bugs go unfixxed for months at a time, which detracts from the game, for instance, non imbued weps attack spd is bugged.... for 5 months, yes, Im a pvper, Ive been a pvper since update 1, but when you have genuinely nothing to do but pvp as a replayability, you need to actually care for said part of the community (not talkin the absolute monkeybrained pvpheads), Berzerker was actually insanely broken (attacks didnt function at all) for the first 5 months, whereas mage was just the pinnacle of misery and ease, bug fixxing is all I care about right now, as he adds more than he fixes every update
To add on this, when he states this game isnt pvp focused, but makes a MAIN skill point Fighting Styles, Which are HORRRIDDDDDD for pve, you kinda question if he even knows what he is talking about himself, if you run FS and fight npcs (dark sea, bosses) good luck using anything except axe-slash and shot, otherwise youll get out dpsed by any and all enemies

Hello, I wanted to say this to Vetex, possible improvements and to increase the number of players in the game, as a fan of their Arcane Adventures and Arcane Odyssey games, I wanted to talk about PVP, (in my opinion) an idea I wanted to share is It would be great if there was a button to activate and deactivate pvp, (this only in the world where the STORY OF THE GAME TAKES PLACE), for example bronze sea nimbus Sea, instead of 3 people simply jumping at you and killing you in one way without reasons and a bit toxic, we could ask people do you want to do a pvp here? Many people, most of the time when they are in a pvp, start to speed up their heart a lot, this sometimes happens to me, it's a normal thing with a lot of adrenaline, knowing that you will lose a lot unfairly due to a team of people jumping at you with their boat full of trunks. If it did, it could change a lot of things, I believe. 2 my idea, to have a place that players can teleport freely like elysium to test their builds and their enchanted weapons and their strength, even some kind of calling a pvp between 1v1 like Strongest battlegrounds has, we would have fairer fights, (I also want to say that I was never a pvp player until my main account had around 200 player kills with 600 hours played) most of them were when I fought back against toxic 2v1 players jumping on me when I was farming for some armor. 3 idea, about the problem with stats in the game, I thought of something that would cost you a little time but would save you a lot of time in the future since we are at the beginning of the game, this game has a lot of potential and I believe that one day it will be a great game, it's just not complete. Well, we know that the higher our level cap, the greater the size, attack speed, for example, if we ever reach level 1000, I don't even want to imagine what the size effects of the attacks will be like, we need to have a very decent computer to play, Many players have weak computers and end up not being able to handle the low fps, it's a heavy game, I understand, the attacks would be huge, imagine an attack the size of an entire sea, nowadays we have attacks the size of entire islands like I did some max size videos. Now the idea, I believe that if attack size and attack speed were somehow scaled with your level, you would no longer need to constantly worry about nerfing attack size and attack speed, so that attacks don't become extremely large or fast , because the higher our level cap, the more stats our armor will give to accompany the nerf in attacks when we have a high level. stats like power and defense won't be needed because that's part of the game, the objective is that we want to get stronger to defeat our enemies in the game, and therefore nothing will have absurd things like gigantic attack speed or attack size in the future of the game, causing a big lag too. I'm not here to say that I have better ideas than someone else or something, I just wanted to share what I think could improve Arcane Odyssey, I know it might be an idea that vetex might already have thought of, and I'm just a little fan, I'm Brazilian and really like this type of game. What he could do is make it so every level your efficiency with stats increases. So like at lvl 1 you can have for example 10 power but it gives you 1 damage. "1 to 10 efficiency" But at lvl 250 it can be 10 power to 5 damage "5 to 10 efficiency" With such growth you will end up with 20 to 10 efficiency at lvl 1k. So it will be like 1k attack size and 1k casting speed become 2k attack size and 2k casting speed in effectiveness. Aka wom stats. But at lvls like 136 "The current cap" it will be about 9,2 Power to 10 efficiency. So at about level 150 only then every power adds more 1 damage and so on. "Pretty sure the current is about the same" So the growth would be corresponding to your level. Ofcourse it does not need to be these specific settings but i think this could be a good idea for future balancing. "which is kinda your idea T7rren."

As someone who now appeared during the first age of the free Early Access (No, not the paid access era, I'm sorry, I wasn't there), ever since I finished the Bronze Sea, I was eager to know more of the lore. The PVE is way much harder than PVP (PVP is a test of skill, and for someone with low-end devices, this could be a disadvantage, unless you know the timing). The Mistral Update looks bare bones at first, but it still keeps me on toes on where the plot leads next... And speaking of Vetex, I OFTEN call him an "Indie Dev" (or a soloist like me), because he's been working on the game for MONTHS all by himself (The model contributions were from other people, but he did the programming). Speaking from personal experience, I can guarantee it is HELL, especially if you are under the expectations of what your work should be. Either that or we are too hard on ourselves. Or both. All I can say is: *_Let the indie be the indie it needs to be. Let it grow to what Vetex envisions it to be, and we can deal with the bugs later at some point (I remember the terror of the anti-cheat where it WILL ban you even if you did a little funny without the intent of an unfair fight)._* No, I am not gone from the Wikia. i think a neglected aspect of why people dont like the game (it wasnt even mentioned in this video) is the grind. the economy SUCKS. you need to do SO MUCH GRINDING in order to get more powerful. its absurd
Interacting with traders from the galleon is such a terrible experience. They post these long lists of useless items nobody wants every time they can and when you wanna trade them its never enough and they always want overpays.
In my opinion, whenever I join an AO server it would feel like I’m playing strongest battleground. This will be the case even more since he is gonna make it so clans get shoved into the same servers more(Sure I can leave the clan but my clan is not a pvp ganking sweaty clan but a community of friends and I really don’t want to fear for my life from that 2k pk guy just cause we reached superior)
@@someyeeterontheblock2421 it depends, if your low fame and are not in a big clan you generally won’t be killed or hunted but if you have semi high fame you will be hunted. If you play the game and interact with other players actively instead of avoiding populated areas a lot, you will eventually encounter aholes with no lives outside of ao attacking you for rejecting a L trade.(happened to me, dude had 4k kills and 1500 hours and tried to take my essence by offering 2 leg scales. I rejected and he grabbed my poster instantly)
The game definitely needs level gap requirements and anti team. I'm thinking a similar system to dark souls pvp would help. Iirc in dark souls you could only be invaded by someone within 12 levels. In arcane I think it'd be more appropriate to allow players to pvp anyone within that 5 level gap range. Also allows for the removement of the pvp level lock allowing players to explore pvp much earlier on, while not getting ganked by max level players.
I really like Arcane Odyssey and I was very happy when it came out on the Xbox because I haven't been on a PC for a while, but the problem is the bug that is happening is that Roblox is suddenly closing by itself when I go to play.
Expressed just about all my thoughts! I’ve followed this series since the beta of AA (holy hell has it already been over 8 years?!), I really do hope the state of the game does change for the better, I have high hopes for AO!
What I think the issue is with AO is that nimbus (the currently largest update) didn’t increase player level to scale with the NPC. Yes they’re ai but they’re GOOD ai with double your health and damage. The scaling compared to the bronze sea basically dunked on hopes of PVE actually having some sort of fun. People are now doing PVP to try to kinda get anything out of AO. (Before you say “what about the dark sea”, the player to NPc scaling is also stupid… most people never actually go deep unless they want epicenter explorer or some specific ingredients.). PVP has made itself the main focus of the playerbase due to these issues. The clan islands update could bring some replayability with attrition or battles over the islands between players who are all Yk, unique.
Honestly i haven't played the game in close to a year. Not to say it's fallen off majorly or anything but man it's sad that in the year i haven't played all that was added was a bit of the dark sea and a bit of the nimbus sea. I feel like it's just best for me to forget about the game until a lot od major content is added because i feel like i could come back and in a day catch up.
Honestly for me the biggest issue AO has is the grind. I quit months ago because of how bad it got and it hasn't gotten any better overtime, even tho I want to come back T-T.
If you get good at getting dark sea loot, you can sell it on the vetmarket for whatever items you want in the game. Powerful and armored scrolls sell for around 20k gals so if you get enough of those you can buy any gear you want including sunkens
My problem with AO is vetex doesnt just finish adding all current skills, like finish Eagle Patrimony and the rest of the weapon skills; but with him adding new lost spells instead of the prior two i just dont want to bother making a build outside of mage or something its disappointing to me
On one hand I get that this game is about magic and it makes sense why magic related build get all the stuff. but man does it suck watching non-magic builds get nothing notable over and over again. weapon notes were cool but its just existing content
i mean vetex has to acknowledge ao's most loyal playerbase atp are the pvpers, both casual and competitive, i've seen many pvpers say they "quit" only to return to the game after a short bit, i do like that he's made more medium and short term goals in the trello that can very much add more to replayability, what i DONT like however is vetex seemingly not wanting to utilise AO's combat when its genuinely one of the most SOLID parts of AO
I feel the pvp system itself is great, and is very fun once you get the hang of it, and it’s one of the few pvp systems where it feels rewarding even if you die, because you’re still having cool moments, and you’re not getting stun combo’d into oblivion. With all that said very little of the community even knows how to pvp in the first place, because the community around pvping is a gatekeeping toxic hell of a fucking dumpster fire.
W Magmurrr. The biggest problem , as you said, is the lack of replayability content. The game has a lot of content for a Roblox game, but like 70-80% of the content is grinding, and why would you be grinding for hours if there’s not any other kind of content aside from PvP that you can use that for? I believe Vetex should focus his updates in replayability content while he finishes the main story aspects of the game and completes how the builds works, like getting at least 3 moves of 3 different spirit weapons finished and trying to get wardens/oracles done.
Honestly, even though the lack of content. It is still pretty fun for some reason because its kind of immersive throughout mid-endgame. Or maybe that's just me. Coming from my perspective🙏
tbh the only real issues I have with this game (PVE'er) is that CARGO TAKES SO FUCKING LONG, its possible to get stuck on a save because you cant beat a boss (Calvus, that one water conj boss I forgot the name of, and Carina have caused me so many deleted save files), and after-calvus grind is boring
Also the fact that in world of magic there was a lot more npc interaction, you just go somewhere and destroy villages and have npcs jump yo ah, honestly a lot of my replay ability was just destroying everything lmao
An easy fix to replayability is to heavily buff fame gain. You shouldn’t need 300 hours just to hit captain rank in the navy. How does it make sense that your character literally killed Calvus, strongest man in the bronze sea and is still an unknown private? If people could reasonably obtain navy/syndicate ranks, people would definitely return.

I agree with the balance team point. There’s way too much things on there and sometimes the changes that are made are later reverted such as thermo fist heat gain out of pvp. They made it so you gain 90% less heat outside combat which made nobody want to play thermo anymore and then now they reverting it meaning that’s one extra thing vetex had to do on the document…

i just want warden in the game, its insane how the only build i ever wanted has been locked since the beginning of the game, i will only hop on arcane odyssey again when they add warden (or oracle as they call it now).
PVP is not a requirement of the game, It's a choice. The game doesn't reward or encourage you to do PVP. (Fame and Galleons aren't really a reward) Fame or Infamy is just a number that goes up that serves you no purpose other than an ego boost and a few minor changes. (And there are other ways to increase it without needing to do PVP, so do Galleons). Some may say that Arcane Odyssey is nothing without PVP. That's simply untrue, quite actually, It's the other way around! Take away PVP from Arcane Odyssey and it still would be Arcane Odyssey, Take everything away except PVP and the game just becomes Elemental Battlegrounds or something. Content that isn't combat-oriented is important for the game too!
When people (such as vetex) say that the game would die without pvp, it's not because the game requires pvp but is instead because that's almost all the replayability the game has to offer
used to be a rookie savant before resetting my stat points but currently i'm an initiate savant of level 85. I have all the requirements to be a warlord, such as: 80 strength points, 50 weapon points + 40 vitality points. I'm still not a warlord however. Is there any level requirement and if so then what's the level and before being a warlord how do i switch to something better of a build temporarily? Pls reply.
if there are 3 stats with points put into it, you are defaulted to a savant. if you want to switch, use a new file, as getting the interchange potions is very very rare.... and you wont get a full sunken set unless you have godly luck to trade for a promethus luck
The sole reason why i quit ao was the fucking weapon voiding and lack of compensation (didnt even get my vendicator back i had a clear video of losing and the pity luck boost shit was just a spit in the face)

I feel like in that rant Vetex kind of drew a double edged sword saying that there were going to be no more combat updates. Without combat updates, toxic pvpers will have an easier time ruining the game for the rest of the players due to unbalanced combat. Unless he just adds in a PvP switch.
I've been play arcane odyssey since September 20, 2023 and I quite really really love this game back then since me and my brother recommended me to play this game and my first build was ice conjurer and i don't know about builds and armour stats and jewels and i really like this game mechanic cooking, fishing,crafting and roam around for adventure. The time arcane odyssey is very popular because of pvp and i know i feel bad for vetex i don't know why player behaviour always killing like a committed crime if your a (sigma villain) such as mage and warrior big attack size and damage. All warriors and conjurer always complaining "where tf is my weapon" but as mage i stop play as level 125 and i still own all weapons (not sunken but i have boss drops still has level weapon) Edit: chat its not 2022 it was 2023 but thanks for reminding me user justdebel9928

So he literally hasn't had time to work on the part of the game he enjoys, (Literally putting in more content and progressing the story of the game). What's more, a good majority of the "broken moves" are honestly just a skill issue. I'm not INCREDIBLE at PvP, but I can tell that there's some stuff that the toxic community complain about that can be solved by learning to block, dodge or parry a move. It's sickening. Then they proceed to only put out negative comments everytime vetex so much as breathes... I completely agree with vetex on this. It's about time that the PvE part of the community got some love. Cause while all the toxic PvPers were complaining about the slightest change to a move. We were waiting quietly for new content. Great work on bringing light to the situation Magmurrr. And in truth, yeah. I feel like Vetex needs to make a video/Q&A on this. It sucks that the toxic PvP'ers are there but he shouldn't abandon the rest of his community because of it. Truly and truthfully the fact is the number of people who support him will always outnumber the amount against him. Cause the proof is there. The fact that people are still playing the game.
I couldn’t agree more. No matter how much you try to appease your audience you cannot please everybody, there will always be someone present to give you negative feedback and most of the time it’s not even a problem on the devs or games part. I didn’t even realize that people thought that there was a content shortage or whatever because in my opinion the game has lots of existing content to enjoy, it’s just that people aren’t willing to try out something new and experience the game in all of its entirety. Vertex can only do so much to keep up with the demands of people so I’m a little devastated that the community is becoming more insufferable by the second just because they’re tired of replaying on a new file when they haven’t even had fun yet.
As a PvE player, I enjoy this game for the storyline. This is what an Odyssey is about. I honestly dont care about the pvp, I can pvp decently but im here for hunting npcs and fight the boss of the game. I just let my character be a character of the story, no level grinding (except for the time against Argos), just explore the world. This game would be more fun if you think like the character itself, having worse equipment than the bosses and making the fight harder is what would happen in the storyline. Exploring new islands, scavenging for whatever loot you find in chests along the journey. PvP isnt the main point of this game anyway.
The game is dogshit, the storyline was so fun, but the sheer amount of issues(poor optmization, awful combat, bugs, etc) ruined the experience a lot, which is a shame, because vetex really has potential. I was a massive fan of AA, as flawed as that game was. When i heard about AO i was hyped, constantly waiting for sneakpeeks and news about the game, when it came out my reaction was "this is an annoying game, but it has potential, can't wait for vetex to fix some of the issues about the game". And that day never came. Its been like what? 2 years? And everytime i join again is always "why is the game so laggy" "why is the combat so miserable and getting worse" "why is there no actual good new stuff that is worth grinding for?" .
So yea, AO is a shit game that had potential but that was thrown out the window because vetex doesn't know what to do. And frankly? I dont blame him, he's a solo dev, so its obviously too much work when people are constantly nagging about issues. But just because that is true, doesn't mean i can't criticize the game

5:53 As a forum user who's been active for three years now, Vetex replying to negative comment are usually the only time Vetex even interact with the community, there is nothing he interact that is unrelated to negativity.
It's always him "correcting" them and this include non PvP stuff like the ingame storyline, saying about "story not done" and "buildup" in why the story felt poorly executed, and that it will be "good" in the future felt dismissive of the criticism and felt like "It's my game, so it's whatever I want" and proceed to continue with replying to every thread explaining why they're wrong and at this point it became "I'm the author, so I'm 100% correct" even if they're made in goodfaith rather than to doompost.
I do believe he need to be in touch with the community more. He basically paint himself as this person who do whatever he wants and those who oppose can just shut up and you have to meatride him on whatever he says.

(This is a guess and has no factual evidence, but) I think the problem with testers is that they don’t do regular progression, so anything in the dark sea and in the storyline gets missed because they just give themselves max level and all the loot. Why waste hours in the dark sea actually doing what you are meant to when you could give yourself a bunch of stuff and be done in 10 minutes, right?

Been playing since day one, the biggest issue I have personally is that bugs go unfixxed for months at a time, which detracts from the game, for instance, non imbued weps attack spd is bugged.... for 5 months, yes, Im a pvper, Ive been a pvper since update 1, but when you have genuinely nothing to do but pvp as a replayability, you need to actually care for said part of the community (not talkin the absolute monkeybrained pvpheads), Berzerker was actually insanely broken (attacks didnt function at all) for the first 5 months, whereas mage was just the pinnacle of misery and ease, bug fixxing is all I care about right now, as he adds more than he fixes every update
To add on this, when he states this game isnt pvp focused, but makes a MAIN skill point Fighting Styles, Which are HORRRIDDDDDD for pve, you kinda question if he even knows what he is talking about himself, if you run FS and fight npcs (dark sea, bosses) good luck using anything except axe-slash and shot, otherwise youll get out dpsed by any and all enemies

Hello, I wanted to say this to Vetex, possible improvements and to increase the number of players in the game, as a fan of their Arcane Adventures and Arcane Odyssey games, I wanted to talk about PVP, (in my opinion) an idea I wanted to share is It would be great if there was a button to activate and deactivate pvp, (this only in the world where the STORY OF THE GAME TAKES PLACE), for example bronze sea nimbus Sea, instead of 3 people simply jumping at you and killing you in one way without reasons and a bit toxic, we could ask people do you want to do a pvp here? Many people, most of the time when they are in a pvp, start to speed up their heart a lot, this sometimes happens to me, it's a normal thing with a lot of adrenaline, knowing that you will lose a lot unfairly due to a team of people jumping at you with their boat full of trunks. If it did, it could change a lot of things, I believe.
2 my idea, to have a place that players can teleport freely like elysium to test their builds and their enchanted weapons and their strength, even some kind of calling a pvp between 1v1 like Strongest battlegrounds has, we would have fairer fights, (I also want to say that I was never a pvp player until my main account had around 200 player kills with 600 hours played) most of them were when I fought back against toxic 2v1 players jumping on me when I was farming for some armor.
3 idea, about the problem with stats in the game, I thought of something that would cost you a little time but would save you a lot of time in the future since we are at the beginning of the game, this game has a lot of potential and I believe that one day it will be a great game, it's just not complete.
Well, we know that the higher our level cap, the greater the size, attack speed, for example, if we ever reach level 1000, I don't even want to imagine what the size effects of the attacks will be like, we need to have a very decent computer to play, Many players have weak computers and end up not being able to handle the low fps, it's a heavy game, I understand, the attacks would be huge, imagine an attack the size of an entire sea, nowadays we have attacks the size of entire islands like I did some max size videos.
Now the idea, I believe that if attack size and attack speed were somehow scaled with your level, you would no longer need to constantly worry about nerfing attack size and attack speed, so that attacks don't become extremely large or fast , because the higher our level cap, the more stats our armor will give to accompany the nerf in attacks when we have a high level.
stats like power and defense won't be needed because that's part of the game, the objective is that we want to get stronger to defeat our enemies in the game, and therefore nothing will have absurd things like gigantic attack speed or attack size in the future of the game, causing a big lag too.
I'm not here to say that I have better ideas than someone else or something, I just wanted to share what I think could improve Arcane Odyssey, I know it might be an idea that vetex might already have thought of, and I'm just a little fan, I'm Brazilian and really like this type of game. I appreciate the patience of whoever read this, I used the translator so I could write all of this if there is anything strange, you already know.
I hope that maybe this can help the game, because that is my intention as a player, maybe someone will disagree with these ideas but I believe it would be good to have this in the game.
Vetex could be calmer when it comes to the toxic pvps community, this would end up removing something that bothers our community, the toxicity of some players. And the game would continue to have its pvp, but fairer and players would play more often with fair pvps in a closed arena just for 1v1. on a server.

yeah we need some power equalization for levels
What he could do is make it so every level your efficiency with stats increases. So like at lvl 1 you can have for example 10 power but it gives you 1 damage. "1 to 10 efficiency" But at lvl 250 it can be 10 power to 5 damage "5 to 10 efficiency" With such growth you will end up with 20 to 10 efficiency at lvl 1k. So it will be like 1k attack size and 1k casting speed become 2k attack size and 2k casting speed in effectiveness. Aka wom stats. But at lvls like 136 "The current cap" it will be about 9,2 Power to 10 efficiency. So at about level 150 only then every power adds more 1 damage and so on. "Pretty sure the current is about the same" So the growth would be corresponding to your level. Ofcourse it does not need to be these specific settings but i think this could be a good idea for future balancing. "which is kinda your idea T7rren."

As someone who now appeared during the first age of the free Early Access (No, not the paid access era, I'm sorry, I wasn't there), ever since I finished the Bronze Sea, I was eager to know more of the lore.
The PVE is way much harder than PVP (PVP is a test of skill, and for someone with low-end devices, this could be a disadvantage, unless you know the timing). The Mistral Update looks bare bones at first, but it still keeps me on toes on where the plot leads next...
And speaking of Vetex, I OFTEN call him an "Indie Dev" (or a soloist like me), because he's been working on the game for MONTHS all by himself (The model contributions were from other people, but he did the programming). Speaking from personal experience, I can guarantee it is HELL, especially if you are under the expectations of what your work should be.
Either that or we are too hard on ourselves. Or both.
All I can say is:

In my opinion, whenever I join an AO server it would feel like I’m playing strongest battleground. This will be the case even more since he is gonna make it so clans get shoved into the same servers more(Sure I can leave the clan but my clan is not a pvp ganking sweaty clan but a community of friends and I really don’t want to fear for my life from that 2k pk guy just cause we reached superior)

@@someyeeterontheblock2421 it depends, if your low fame and are not in a big clan you generally won’t be killed or hunted but if you have semi high fame you will be hunted. If you play the game and interact with other players actively instead of avoiding populated areas a lot, you will eventually encounter aholes with no lives outside of ao attacking you for rejecting a L trade.(happened to me, dude had 4k kills and 1500 hours and tried to take my essence by offering 2 leg scales. I rejected and he grabbed my poster instantly)
The game definitely needs level gap requirements and anti team. I'm thinking a similar system to dark souls pvp would help. Iirc in dark souls you could only be invaded by someone within 12 levels. In arcane I think it'd be more appropriate to allow players to pvp anyone within that 5 level gap range. Also allows for the removement of the pvp level lock allowing players to explore pvp much earlier on, while not getting ganked by max level players.

I really like Arcane Odyssey and I was very happy when it came out on the Xbox because I haven't been on a PC for a while, but the problem is the bug that is happening is that Roblox is suddenly closing by itself when I go to play.

Expressed just about all my thoughts! I’ve followed this series since the beta of AA (holy hell has it already been over 8 years?!), I really do hope the state of the game does change for the better, I have high hopes for AO!
What I think the issue is with AO is that nimbus (the currently largest update) didn’t increase player level to scale with the NPC. Yes they’re ai but they’re GOOD ai with double your health and damage. The scaling compared to the bronze sea basically dunked on hopes of PVE actually having some sort of fun. People are now doing PVP to try to kinda get anything out of AO. (Before you say “what about the dark sea”, the player to NPc scaling is also stupid… most people never actually go deep unless they want epicenter explorer or some specific ingredients.). PVP has made itself the main focus of the playerbase due to these issues. The clan islands update could bring some replayability with attrition or battles over the islands between players who are all Yk, unique.
these NPCs are actually ridiculous. I can't even fight my rival to get a chart without re-enacting durza's battle now.

Honestly i haven't played the game in close to a year. Not to say it's fallen off majorly or anything but man it's sad that in the year i haven't played all that was added was a bit of the dark sea and a bit of the nimbus sea. I feel like it's just best for me to forget about the game until a lot od major content is added because i feel like i could come back and in a day catch up.
Honestly for me the biggest issue AO has is the grind. I quit months ago because of how bad it got and it hasn't gotten any better overtime, even tho I want to come back T-T.

If you get good at getting dark sea loot, you can sell it on the vetmarket for whatever items you want in the game.
Powerful and armored scrolls sell for around 20k gals so if you get enough of those you can buy any gear you want including sunkens
My problem with AO is vetex doesnt just finish adding all current skills, like finish Eagle Patrimony and the rest of the weapon skills; but with him adding new lost spells instead of the prior two i just dont want to bother making a build outside of mage or something its disappointing to me
On one hand I get that this game is about magic and it makes sense why magic related build get all the stuff. but man does it suck watching non-magic builds get nothing notable over and over again. weapon notes were cool but its just existing content

I feel the pvp system itself is great, and is very fun once you get the hang of it, and it’s one of the few pvp systems where it feels rewarding even if you die, because you’re still having cool moments, and you’re not getting stun combo’d into oblivion. With all that said very little of the community even knows how to pvp in the first place, because the community around pvping is a gatekeeping toxic hell of a fucking dumpster fire.
W Magmurrr. The biggest problem , as you said, is the lack of replayability content. The game has a lot of content for a Roblox game, but like 70-80% of the content is grinding, and why would you be grinding for hours if there’s not any other kind of content aside from PvP that you can use that for? I believe Vetex should focus his updates in replayability content while he finishes the main story aspects of the game and completes how the builds works, like getting at least 3 moves of 3 different spirit weapons finished and trying to get wardens/oracles done.

tbh the only real issues I have with this game (PVE'er) is that CARGO TAKES SO FUCKING LONG, its possible to get stuck on a save because you cant beat a boss (Calvus, that one water conj boss I forgot the name of, and Carina have caused me so many deleted save files), and after-calvus grind is boring
All of this could be solved with hiring more people, more people means more content which means more money which is exactly what vetex wants

An easy fix to replayability is to heavily buff fame gain. You shouldn’t need 300 hours just to hit captain rank in the navy. How does it make sense that your character literally killed Calvus, strongest man in the bronze sea and is still an unknown private? If people could reasonably obtain navy/syndicate ranks, people would definitely return.

I agree with the balance team point. There’s way too much things on there and sometimes the changes that are made are later reverted such as thermo fist heat gain out of pvp. They made it so you gain 90% less heat outside combat which made nobody want to play thermo anymore and then now they reverting it meaning that’s one extra thing vetex had to do on the document…

i just want warden in the game, its insane how the only build i ever wanted has been locked since the beginning of the game, i will only hop on arcane odyssey again when they add warden (or oracle as they call it now).

PVP is not a requirement of the game, It's a choice. The game doesn't reward or encourage you to do PVP. (Fame and Galleons aren't really a reward)
Fame or Infamy is just a number that goes up that serves you no purpose other than an ego boost and a few minor changes. (And there are other ways to increase it without needing to do PVP, so do Galleons).
Some may say that Arcane Odyssey is nothing without PVP. That's simply untrue, quite actually, It's the other way around!
Take away PVP from Arcane Odyssey and it still would be Arcane Odyssey, Take everything away except PVP and the game just becomes Elemental Battlegrounds or something.
Content that isn't combat-oriented is important for the game too!
When people (such as vetex) say that the game would die without pvp, it's not because the game requires pvp but is instead because that's almost all the replayability the game has to offer

used to be a rookie savant before resetting my stat points but currently i'm an initiate savant of level 85. I have all the requirements to be a warlord, such as: 80 strength points, 50 weapon points + 40 vitality points. I'm still not a warlord however. Is there any level requirement and if so then what's the level and before being a warlord how do i switch to something better of a build temporarily? Pls reply.
You shouldn't have put 40 into vit...
if there are 3 stats with points put into it, you are defaulted to a savant. if you want to switch, use a new file, as getting the interchange potions is very very rare.... and you wont get a full sunken set unless you have godly luck to trade for a promethus luck

The sole reason why i quit ao was the fucking weapon voiding and lack of compensation (didnt even get my vendicator back i had a clear video of losing and the pity luck boost shit was just a spit in the face)
The shibuya incident was really just a kick in the face for weapon's users. Luck 3 for a few day's really wasn't that good of a compensation.

I feel like in that rant Vetex kind of drew a double edged sword saying that there were going to be no more combat updates. Without combat updates, toxic pvpers will have an easier time ruining the game for the rest of the players due to unbalanced combat. Unless he just adds in a PvP switch.
Once the game has plenty of PVE content and replayability a PVP switch won't be detrimental. Gonna just take time to reach that point 🥲

I've been play arcane odyssey since September 20, 2023 and I quite really really love this game back then since me and my brother recommended me to play this game and my first build was ice conjurer and i don't know about builds and armour stats and jewels and i really like this game mechanic cooking, fishing,crafting and roam around for adventure. The time arcane odyssey is very popular because of pvp and i know i feel bad for vetex i don't know why player behaviour always killing like a committed crime if your a (sigma villain) such as mage and warrior big attack size and damage. All warriors and conjurer always complaining "where tf is my weapon" but as mage i stop play as level 125 and i still own all weapons (not sunken but i have boss drops still has level weapon)

Arcane Odyssey should not focus on PVP, (even though if it did it would lose so many players) and more about exploring and fighting NPCS.
It's a PVE focused game with the possibility for PVP. PVP is just important right now because it's the only thing to do after the PVE content.
Vetex needs more devs to help add more content quicker
