My discord server lol: discord.gg/cvACXTkcus Before people go ahead and say "where's this game" or "these games aren't even underrated", I want you to know that whatever game you suggested that isn't in the video I have probably played at one point or another, I just decided not to include it because of various reasons. And if you think some of these games aren't underrated... I consider them underrated due to the fact that they have a pretty low player count compared to other "popular" Roblox games (looking at you, "Regretevator/JToH/Block Tales isn't underrated" commenters). If they were not to be underrated, they would have hundreds of thousands of concurrent players, would they not? I also admit that some of these games were played on a whim due to the fact that I wanted to get this video out as quickly as possible, but the fact that this video is about my opinions on them mainly as a first-time player and not someone who was experienced was an intentional choice made by me, not just to meet a deadline, but also because I feel that a lot of bias comes up if you play them for too long. Of course you could neglect some issues of a game if you consider the rest of it really good when you have a lot of hours on it, that's bias for ya. But I wanted more of a "diving head-first" sort of approach to the way I was gonna review them, to make my review feel as honest as possible. *Remember guys, this video is completely subjective and for entertainment purposes only. I said that in the first like 40 seconds of the video, but I cut it out since I thought it was obvious.*
What's up with the title of the video? I wouldn't say that these games are really underrated (Block tales has 98% rating etc), I would really appericiate if you would include games like The Zombie Onslaught overhaul or Monster Islands, they really are good tho TZO is repetetive a bit
so,about decaying winter, think of it as a rogue like, you need to play like 20 runs until you start figuring stuff out,its hard to get into but its amazing once you figure it out.
The thing with Decaying Winter... It is not beginner friendly. At all. It tells you next to nothing, and many players dislike newbies because they'll "ruin the run." It takes a TON of trial and error to learn the game. IF you can figure the game out, however, it's actually incredibly fun. Emphasis on "if," but the game did keep me entertained for over a year. Personally, the learning experience was also fun, but I might just be a masochist (I play touhou and project moon games) edit I mention PM once in a comment and I get 500 likes and a limbillion PM fans what the flip
Hey, Tester for Blocktales here! Thank you so much for enjoying the game! We are working very hard to release the next demo very soon and we are so glad for you to give more attention to our game. Thank you!!
fun fact about blox tales: the menu color change your idle animation of battle as an example using the "Apple" color of the menu gives you the mario idle combat anim of the Mario&Luigi series
Real Decaying Winter rating. It is a very complicated game and may even be too overwhelming at the beginning. The devs are currently working on a tutorial (note that the original dev moved on and other devs dedicated to the game have taken her place). With this is mind, there will be a lot of additions to make it more friendly but in the meanwhile, enjoy the suffering.
Hopfully it will release alongside the major update in october, game deserves a bigger player count with all the passion being put into it and how good of a game it is under all the confusion
This is a video about whether games are actually good or not yet he's bringing his opinion in it. It's not even a review, it's just average game journalist behaviour.
Fr. This is straight up just lil bro showcasing that he knows next to nothing about most of the games he plays, and makes no attempt at paying attention to what it tries to teach you during playtime. I can understand not liking DW because it really IS just not beginner-friendly by design, but his complaints are literally ALL things that the game actually addresses and helps you with. A lot. Also his critique of Dummies vs Noobs is straight up just... wrong? Like, really dishonest. Grind? What grind? Huh??? Then there's the Neon Knights ""critique"" (besides the lacking soundscape which I agree with) which is just "This game isn't made for me, it's made for a different audience, therefore bad, not recommend" which is just... wow. He literally just doesn't even try to engage with a game's mechanics and systems, then complains it takes away from enjoyment, then presents what he disliked as objective critique rather than what it is: Games simply not being for him. Which is fine. Games have target audiences.
I think the most terrifying thing about Decaying Winter isn’t even the enemies, it’s your own teammates. If you were unaware, one of the ‘random status effect’s you can get is called a Death Morale, which decreases basically everything (movement speed, defence). It’s obtained by your teammate dying, hinted by a ‘Warning, agent on your team is downed’ and goddamn it is terrifying to watch four of your teammates die and leave you with a huge cripple. ( And the blitzers, FUCK THE BLITZER TROLLS )
@@NubE-Co The things is, some games like Decaying Winter, aren't "Newbs" friendly. Which means is hard to understand and enjoy the game as a beginner, because it just hands you the experience but not the explanation on how is work. Which in results in you being repeatedly dying at the game because you have no idea what the hell is happening.
@@NubE-Cofr and the game is pc only and ITS VERY underrated, but thanks to everyone's favourite meme youtuber(tank fish go like and subscribe to him) it's getting popular(I think😢) By the way noobs in decayin winter should watch tutorials on UA-cam

As a JToH fan, I totally think what you said about JToH is true. The game becomes significantly better as you improve and unlock more areas, but the early areas are very bad. (The general issues you have still remain but get better as time progresses) I wish this was talked about more as a community because I oftentimes see the toxic mindset that “JToH isn’t popular because people find it too difficult” and I mean yeah that’s kinda true but they never consider how abysmal of an intro people are given to the game
I feel like the issue with Phighting! and its sweats is due to the lack of new players and its very loyal fanbase staying mostly in Open Servers , they don't have Beginner Servers too so ur basically gonna struggle getting onto a server that has a fair balance for newbies and other players 😭 I'm a Level 176 player who's gotten constant MVPs before , and I have to say that seeing newbies getting constantly destroyed because of the unfair matchmaking really hurts me , it ruins the first impression of the game a lot , I'm hoping Aidn would implement a "Beginners" server that locks away atleast Level 50+ players so newbies can have a very comfortable time trying to experiment or polish out their skills in the game edit ! : from one of the recent game reviews that got released two weeks ago , apparently Aidn (creator of phighting) was actually planning on how he'd implement matchmaking to make it so much more fair , but he would still be experimenting about it

The problem with jtoh is that alot of the earlier areas are incredibly old which results in the towers not hooking any new players, alot of the truly outstanding towers that are renowned as some of the best in the game are later in the worlds. This problem makes it so that when people are asked to check out jtoh, they completely brush it off as a garbage game because ring 1 and zone 1 towers are generally pretty bad. Alot of the later on towers are far more unique and enjoyable but only dedicated people who want to get better at obbies are actually going to put in that time to progress to experience the outstanding towers. (Coming from someone whos hardest as at the peak of terrifying so i generally understand how this problem feels)

JTOH towers gets REALLY good at like ring 7 or zone 5 but I completely understand your opinion on JTOH. But I completely understand if you don't want to play it any further as it took a really long time to grind the tower completions to get to ring 7.

Pretty reasonable reviews! Though If you don't mind, I'm boutta place a wall of information here. The reason why you didn't hear much music in Neon Knights is because it's basically deprecated at this point. It stopped recieving updates and maintenance for a while now. There really was music in the background! Was. Now it's limited to like, 1 really quiet track. When it was still paid access, people played ALL the time. The devs were VERY active, adding pretty fun events, seasonal or not. But when it went free access, it just became another fad. People swarmed for a few weeks and then the game died out because NOBODY knows how to open their lobbies (they assumed it was singleplayer). My guess is that the massive loss of players left the devs in a pretty devastated and demotivated state, since they've worked on it passionately for like 4 years only for it to die out instantly. Probably also why they've started moving off of the roblox platform (They're starting up on Steam now) It was a really well-made game for roblox, there IS a degree of gun customization but that comes later (around midgame) and is locked behind secrets that you either have to ask about or find on your own. Also surprised that you didn't mention the quality of NPCs, not a lot of roblox games make NPCs actually progress their dialogue and cutscenes based on your progress in-game! They're usually mindless shopkeepers or background NPCs... but Blockage actually put in the effort to give them some charm! Despite going through the same areas over & over again, they always have something new to say or do each time! (until you run out but you'dve already beaten the game like a bajillion times by then.) Honestly, they promised that NK would get finished, but It doesn't look too bright right now. a lot of their attention is focused on their first non-Roblox game (good on them for moving on, tho!).
Maybe if you, IDK. Play DEEPER into these games you'd understand why people love them. As a Neon Knights Veteran, I was heartbroken. The Game's Lore, Characters, Bosses, and Hidden Secrets make up for a fun experience past the later floors. In fact, I do recommend that game.

@@Robot345t No. I did expect the criticism, but I just wished he looked deeper and see why people love it. The Story, World, Characters is what really makes this game very captivating alongside the gameplay loop ofc.
About Decaying Winter: It isn't the only game that the developer has made that is extremely beginner unfriendly. For an example, another game made by the developer, Anomalous Activities. To sum up it's a team of up to 12 mercenaries againts 1 nearly invisible monster. However, the game's skill floor is incredibly high, on top of only the very bare bone basics being explained through a few text walls in the lobby that are easily missable. This led to the game's downfall as it's only able to have around 20-30 people playing, since any new player immediately quits (and for good reason)
Man, I wish people realized that is NOT the type of games that belong on Roblox. There is a small group of people compared to the much larger demographic of people on Roblox who actually will stick around for a game with a HUGE learning curve. Roblox is simply not the right crowd for a game of its type. Why would a person spend hours learning your game if they believe they could get more fun out of something like Blox Fruits.
not gonna i was pretty soulless playing blox fruits... (i got a free decent fruit aswell) anyways Anomalous Activities is getting a sequel with tutorials and alot of reworking and balancing stuff

To understand why people like JTOH, most of the beginner levels (towers) were made around 2018 and are horribly outdated. Its popular mainly out of community-made towers that usually include custom mechanics and much better gameplay. I don’t blame anyone for skipping out on JTOH because there has to be better early levels than what we have. If you want to see the maximum potential of a jtoh-like game, try out Tower World [ALPHA], because its much more polished
I wanna suggest something that's ACTUALLY underrated; Boost Vector! It's a racing game based around RUNNING across tracks, kinda like Sonic, and the variety in the maps will keep you very engaged as well as finding shortcuts. It is a little grindy however, but let that not hinder your enjoyment of it
Boost vector has no guide at all in the tracks of the game which make it trash and annoying, there's seriously no arrows or guidance to help you go on the direction you're supposed to
Your opinion on Decaying Winter is honestly understandable because the game is NOT beginner friendly. A ton of items don't even tell what they do like antibiotics. They keep the constant "infection" bar back, not heal you. The skulls appear when a teammate dies and now that they stay a fixed time, there is no "morale" word under it, which would be the name of the effect. Very glad you enjoyed Dummies vs Noobs though, it is a game that needs a lot of skill to master and even my friend said they made Aerorig feel better to use than any sort of rig in a AoT fangame (I don't know what they call the hooks, so yeah) (Edit: small spelling mistake in Decaying winter, before was devaying winter)
Hey, thank you for featuring GADA3! I'm the dev!!!! I really enjoyed the overall video and the mention was great! I wish you would've went a bit deeper into what happens AFTER you get all the endings (there is 1h of endgame content solely based on the story, lore and characters of the game that isn't just ending grinding which I think puts it apart from other ending games). But, either way, I appreciate the mention a lot! I hope to keep creating amazing stuff you may enjoy! :)
Thanks for the support! I'm glad you ended up finding this video since I did kinda forget to tell you about it lol As for talking about the lore or what happens after you get the endings, I decided to keep this video as spoiler-free as possible when talking about any game that had lore in them. Besides that, the list of the games I was going to review kept changing to conform to what I personally wanted to talk about + I set a deadline for myself so I could get the video done on time and so that meant that some of the games I talked about in this video were played on a whim only so I could get a basic level of understanding about them, yours included. I have played your game and a few others more thoroughly after finishing the video, though, and I can safely say that, yeah, I was right. It is a pretty good game. I can't wait to see what you make in the future!
@@Daiorg2Not to be that guy, but you should probably quell the angry mob you offended by slandering decaying winter. All I’ll say is that you shouldn’t treat it as a roblox game but an indie game with a strict mindset on resource management and combat. Also you got a sub, good content 👍
@@Daiorg2 Thank you for the kind words and thank you for playing! I understand why you wanted to keep it spoiler free, and absolutely aknowledge that the game doesn't do a good enough job at hinting at darker tones as you progress through it, as many others have pointed out to me. I just thought that, if the story wasn't mentioned, it would kind of be thrown onto the other "mindless boring ending grinding" games by the people watching. Gamedev is a big journey and I hope to take in the criticism from this game and apply it going forward! I also hope to see more uploads from you soon! I would totally watch a deep dive into some game nobody has heard of since you sound like a good narrator and writer. :)
You did Decaying Winter absolutely dirty, I know that it may seem overwhelming as a new player but it truly has been one of my most favorite game on roblox. I used to make content about this game on my channel because it was so fun. Another thing, you commented how complicated the controls are in the game when it just isn't... It's like you saw the many colors and didn't even bother to read. The only thing you would even bother to remember during combat is M1, to light attack, M2, to heavy attack, Q to shove, R to Parry and F for your ability. It really isn't that complicated.... Hey, I would love to reintroduce you back into that game, but I could help you get a grasp with the game mechanics. Plleeaassee, revisit the game and give a second opinion.
The thing about Block Tales which is one of my favorite games is that it came out with the second part of the demo. About Super Blox 64, it was the objectively best game I’ve ever played until I played Block Tales. I agree that the replayability isn’t the most interesting, but I find it interesting to use the speed run mode. I don’t actually post my times, but it’s always fun to play it in speedrun mode, though I haven’t picked up the game in about half a year or a year
Chapter 1 started it all, Chapter 2 was okay, and Chapter 3... well... how do i start? Enjoyment? Yes. Maps? Yes. Creativity? Yes. Better than The Haunt? That's a yes for everyone.
Decaying Winter heal guide (since yes) - Basic Medkit has 2 default uses and heals slight amount of health (15 health) - Advanced IFAK is 1 default use and restores a lot of health. (40 health) - To understand how pills work, you need to learn Infection mechanic. Infection spreads each time you... exist. Let it reach Stage 5 and you die. To halt the infection, you use these medicine. Amoxicillin Tablets only reset the progression bar (BUT NOT THE STAGE), and Augmentin Antibiotics (The bottle of them) resets bar and halts it for a short while. - When bleeding, considering using Bandages. Crude bandage only stops bleeding, Aseptic bandage stops bleeding AND prevents it from applying a short while. - Artery requires special item to be treated - Esmarch Tourniquet. (Note that unlike regular bleeding which caps your minimal health at 1, Artery will kill you, so find one asap.) - Splints heal fractures (fractures give inability to sprint). Crafted splint heals fracture, while Immobilising also prevents fractures to be applied to you for a short while. - Stims are very situational. Cocktail Perithesene (Dark red) heals you back to full health, but stuns you for a while. BL1 (Orange) removes one Morale (Morale = less defense and movement speed, max 4, but in Last Strandeds 2. Applies each time teammate dies. Only does not apply if you are playing solo or if your perk is Damned.). I4S-DS (Green) applies death prevention and enhanced healing. S44-UL1 (Cyan) gives infinite stamina and sprint, removes exhaustion and prevents from applying while active. 3-cbSTM (Purple) increases melee damage by 35%, cures fracture and makes you shove at the speed of light. Hemostatic Zanustin (Ampule) cures Cripple (inability to shove) and temporarily halts negative effects such as bleeding, BUT DOES NOT REMOVE THEM - And Ballistic Vest... you guessed it... decreases damage taken.
This is a horribly convoluted explanation. For a casual, all you need to know is: -Medkit and IFAK heal your HP -Bandages cure bleeding -Torniquet cures artery -Splint cures fracture and cripple -Tablets and antibiotics temporarily halt infection progress -Red stim gives full HP and cures bleeding -Orange stim cures 1 morale and improves stamina regen -Green stim gives damage resistance -Blue stim gives infinite stamina and speeds up all animations -Purple stim increases melee damage -Hemostasis injector gives damage resistance and cures all debuffs except infection and morale
@@bionicleapple1254 kindaa lengthy, I know I will explain it with the fact that I wanted a guy who never really played decaying winter to understand better This, while casual, I wouldn't understand most of the things haven't I played dw before (like what cripple does or what is artery)
no no you see in decaying winter, you will die, get hurt, ect ect, but all this is happening for a reason!! in that clip you showed, where there was a skull on your left bottom screen, that happened because someone in your team died!! and now you had that effect where you are weaker!! that punishes you for letting your teammates die!! (or if they die themselves) but you you see it right right decaying winter is a very, very difficult game and believe me, you will love it if you give it a try

@@chunkytheduck2980 some are self explenatory (warning:agent on your team is down, and then the skull appears, judging by the appearence its nothing good, broken leg icon looks like a broken leg, think of this game as a rogue like)
his point is that even though stuff happens for a reason, (like the trap he touched in one of the clips) there's little to no explanation on why it happened, so most of the time, the player just assumes the game's unfair which is completely understandable when a red skull icon appears at your screen and a red, bloody vignette slowly starts to fade in out of seemingly nowhere one of the main rules of game design is that "every mistake should feel like it's your own fault", which is something this game doesn't do. the game just assumes you will be good enough on your own and just throws you into the game with absolutely no form of tutorial whatsoever. I played it and everything I learned was from asking other players

Hey Daiorg. I've read the pinned comment, yes, I'm not a complete idiot. I was wondering if you've played Wavedash. I heard you say that JToH had bleak platforming, especially for a game about platforming. Wavedash- if you haven't played it- is a game built around Celeste-like movement. @@PolyTheDude if you walk over a staircase, hear a click, hear hissing and explode and DONT understand that you just hit a trip wire thats on you imma be honest, it only took hitting one of those one time for me to understand to pay attention where i walk, plus a lot of the time teammates will mark tripwires and if a new player were to go to look at what that marker was pointing to they would see a tripwire and know that they exist in the game. There's plenty of ways the game lets you know about things, you just have to be persistent enough to fail at least ONCE without imminently calling the game bad
Daiorg I recommend Project:Remix, it's a game where you can choose your loadout and use that loadout to fight other players. The game itself holds to around like below 100 players. I tried it the first and the game gameplay is pretty decent actually

i can understand JToH's enjoyment and gameplay rating being so low even after the better rings and zones, but a 1/10 for artstyle for is crazy af ngl, the artstyle is at least a 5/10 in the later realms 😭
i do understand why JToH's artstyle got the rating it got. the artstyle looks bad in rings 1-7, zones 1-3, AA and FR. they def do make new players getting into the game think the game's artstyle looks boring, but the realms later on make the artstyle at least a 5/10 imo
@@sharkshock5397 oh yea what im talking about was when i joined the game around when everyone was a novice and was not that good this basically means around when decaying winter was still released
Hellmet, Pressure, Running from the internet, Siphon, Pizza Game, Inner Blue, Brickbattler, Nexus, Bombline, Hours, NPCs are becoming smart, and the best game... Natural Disaster Survival.... Thanks for another great video!
(This comment is not meant to be taken seriously) Combat Initiation, otherwise known as Cocaine Inhalation, is an amazing game. With your regards with the bosses, I refute and think that the bosses are rather quite quick if you have the right idea. An example would be Jason, skipping over details for the sake of readability, is mostly a melee boss and doing quick parry attack on him will basically deal lots of damage. Other tactics will also be effective on later bosses, so on and so forth, and with that I say "skill issue".
The game is inspired by ultrakill so you can use tactics from that game, for Jason who represents the swords machine, you just gotta parry his attacks (you also should parry whenever you can) For the captain, who is basically v2, never let him get far from you, alwayd stay close to him and get ready to parry/reflect his projectiles And then there's vagabond, who is Gabriel, the boss was actually impossible for me until I learned you can parry almost all of his moves, then he became an actual fun and challenging boss, when before he was just a wall that I couldn't climb on
As someone from JToH grinding the game since 2019, I dont think you have the full picture of the game. Sure, a lot of towers are unbalanced but theyre supposed to be long, not short. the towers u played are oldschool towers, the first towers made, so obviously theyre not good. later areas of the game have more fun towers and u may call the game unfun just cuz u fail repeatedly. its a good game that doesnt get enough credit cuz of first impresaions in the first area.
I really love your editing style! It reminds me of Foekoe. Also thank you for mentioning Combat Initiation and Block Tales, some of the best games on this platform currently. And also really glad you criticized JToH. The early areas are really bad and the Tower of Rage is so insanely imbalanced it's not even funny. An actually pretty decent obby game that has a really excellent art-style is Tower World. It's locked behind a 55 Robux paywall because it's in Alpha but it's a really good game. Towers have a fair number of mechanics, some have BOSS FIGHTS and the visuals can look really stunning. You even have different effects you can add onto towers after you complete them for an extra challenge. I highly recommend you give it a try. It's not the best game out there, but for a game in alpha, it's pretty good
@@Cyborg2457 Tower World is still in alpha so you can give it a pass when it comes to certain flaws, but my issue with JToH is that, once again, the early stages aren't good, and because they aren't that good, most players won't feel the incentive to keep playing and see the later stages that are actually fine.
@@EpicSword28 i also dont like how tower world is just a bunch of modern tower with boss fights at the end, first, once every tower has a boss fight, then boss fights wont feel special, and that the progression in tower world sorta stinks? it just throws every mechanic at you with a tutorial and doesnt leave room to flesh out the mechanics.
Tbh its understandable that jtoh gets this low of a score, the old towers are horrible while the new ones are AMAZING in creativity, design and gameplay like its INSANE
2:42 I like how you put the "Did you know? Opinions are subjective..." thing before decaying winter cuz you knew you were gonna make an opinion that people would probably heavily disagree with. I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong, it's understandable why one wouldn't like the game, especially starting out, but it deserves another chance from you. Try asking others for help, most players will willingly help you (mostly for the sake of themselves). Heres one quick tip: dying will cause you to give all other alive players a debuff that causes most stats to be nerfed.
For JToH, the artstyle gets much better in more modern areas. They intentionally didn't revamp the oldest ones which are now 6 years old because of nostalgia
honestly i dont understand why not revamp the earlier areas, the "nostalgia" argument is ass and most of the older towers are unenjoyable crap that keep new players a mile away, revamping the earlier areas will make jtoh SO much better
jtoh community got wild with this video in their discord server, i agree first zones are kinda bad looking, but the next ones are AMAZING, dont not rate the game by its first zones.
i watched the video in premiere and i can see where youre coming from when talking about jtoh, the early areas are really bad, even the community agrees, but the later areas like ashen towerworks and zone 4 onwards etcetera have towers that use some really creative custom mechanics and the game's look drastically improves (just look at zone 8's lobby its insane) however it is not beginner friendly at all and mindset is really important as you will eventually fall a lot. Also blocktales is peak i agree with that one
Makes a lot of sense because when I tried out the Christmas towers they were fun as heck but the normal ones are just not fun for me at all because Roblox platforming is really boring sorry though.

3:51 my brother in Christ you just ran at a gun scav with no melee and expected it to work also your at castle which is supposed to be difficult because it houses the way to get true end which is guarded by a raid boss. From this experience you learn: don't run at gun scavs with no melee (or in general) and don't go to castle unless you want to deal with gun scavs or sledge queen (the raid boss) Decaying winter is a game with alot of time investment to learn everything but to learn the basics takes about a few hours.
Hey I wanna say I never seen you before but You are awesome Your love for games and familiarity with them and the soundtrack is inspiring I've had countless conversations over a games where they just play because of Gacha game's cute anime girls or AAA hype or bad ea sports games And even then alot of people misinterpret games or never bother to go deeper into why they are fun or meaningful Why a game does or doesn't exude soul and passion and love or emotion You seem like the type who does, even if this wasn't the main focus of the video at all. Everything from the editing to the visual style and every little bit like showing the names of songs used is great! Thanks for being a creator and choosing to create something amazing
For decaying winter, not having Ubisoft ass ui's and telling you everything is part of the experience. Instead, subtle clues are dropped in the game and mechanics are intuitive enough so that you won't need the tutorials. For example, you'll learn not to go at the dangerous part of the map by looking at the map and seeing a red skull with "danger" on it, you'll see that sometimes when you get hit you get a "broken leg" effect that makes you slower, and you learn that when you get hit there's a chance that rebuffs like that one get applied, and you have to experiment with all healing methods to learn what does what. I'm sure that you only played for like 30 minutes at most and when you didn't understand how an object or mechanic worked you just left it at that without bothering to experiment with it, just playing the bare minimum amount of time to understand the game's general premice. It's truly one (if not the) best game of Roblox, and starting by not understanding anything then slowly developing skills is an integral part of the experience, and it works perfectly with the setting and story (Wich is more deep than many AAA releases to this day). You said it yourself, you learn by dying, but you didn't seem to grasp anything the deaths were supposed to teach you. This game isn't something you just get into and play with your brain off for an hour, it's a game requiring skill and knowledge, and needs more than a forced review-time playthrough to truly play it.
Yeah so it's not fun to get into unless you enjoy trying to figure out everything by dying over and over even though rouge like games when their whole premise is that actually tell you things because they actually want somebody to enjoy themselves during the process deadass I didn't understand a single thing that was going on other than the guys because they're guns I didn't know what all the healing did so I just chugged them and saw effects go away but then people died and I started getting more weird effects that I didn't understand
to let things clear with decaying winter, decaying winter is a game that it is IMPOSSIBLE to put together with the word beginner friendly, pros or intermediates usually kicks new players because they will "ruin the run", they dont know what they are doing. decaying winter is a trial and error game, for example: just like you i died A LOT of times in the castle, i didn't know it was dangerous and took me some time to realise it was dangerous it takes some times to realise what you are, and how you would fit, some suck at combat, soo instead of taking a meelee perk they become a ranged perk, same with with the ones that suck at both, they become support. a thing not many people understand is that decaying winter is a HARD game, not hard, *HARD*, your opinion is kinda understandable due to that, if you give it a second chance, try learning it, reading the wiki and asking for help (they seen not friendly but 90% of the fandom will help you), you might actually like it though i understand if u dont like it, hard games are not for everyone, i think i am a masochist.
Man, you're not the only one of course, how many prestiges you've got? Cuz in my I used to have 12 prestiges in my prime days, but now on my new main acc I got half of the prestige as back then(6 prestiges). And now I'm starting to feel like I'm a all-rounder type of player in decaying winter, is a heck of a game but it have so much fun when you know what you're doing at the end :)
Most servers (at least that I've been in) don't kick noobs immediately we only kick them if they say refuse to learn and constantly try to kill gun scavs with their fists while not even knowing shove exists or anger sq or sicklers constantly
Hey Daiorg, i wanna give some suggestions for the part 2: Offroading Epic - a game about trucking, exploring the map and driving around for fun. OakLands - a little complicated game about logging, which still updates and is very interesting to play. Mining INC: Remastered - a simple mining game about working in different roles and earning cash toghether. Hope you will find it useful!
As a lover of rpgs and roguelikes i have to recommend Pilgrammed and Randomly Generated Droids, though I could see how they wouldn't appeal to the majority of players. Pilgrammed is a wacky open world rpg that has an emphasis on exploring the world to find new areas, bosses, or enemies. The combat system is pretty balanced and well thought out, along with there being a variety of fun builds to make and fun bosses to fight. Randomly Generated Droids is a roguelike that is heavily built around the old roblox sword fighting system where you fight ai with a huge variety of classes. The graphics are lacking but the mechanics are deeply thought out as most items that seem useless have powerful synergies with others.
It sucks to day, but the masterpeice parts of JToH are locked behind progression. Later rings are made later in time and have WAYYY LESS boring gameplay and more creative mechanics, its sad...
It is a nightmere to get to the newer realms though. You have to beat difficult towers to get to ring 4 and challenging towers to get to ring 5 which means the grind slows almost completely and it’s just trying to beat a challenging even the easiest one is incredibly hard.
thing i dislike about ''the pit'' is that there are checkpoints which kinda ruins the whole purpose of ''if you die you start over'' hopefully they get removed
No they are good Imagine going from whatever horrors are on floor 100 all the way back to the first Though I do think hard mode should activate that in the pit
1:52 as a level 45 combat initiation player, i can say that bosses DONT take long to beat, you just have to know their moves and counter them (basically)
I mean yeah, the first few are definitely pretty easy, but they move a little too fast and they're very small little guys meaning that you usually gotta do some hitscan auto-aim stuff to actually hit them
@@Daiorg2 Sword + M1, you can literaly beat jason in under a minute, and captain as well is not hard scince all his atacks are parriable and deal a lot of damage to himself and vagabond can take some decent time to defeat if you dont parry most of his atacks
If you’re gonna make another video like this, do the sick as hell Rocket Arena update for Combat Initiation, Robot 64 Tag, MGDWare, and this last one isn’t exactly a game, but maybe recommend Better Discovery. It’s a game that allows players to browse for underrated Roblox games.
blockate is a really fun underated game, you make smaller games with a simple building mechanic and you try to gain players, it can range from an actual game to an rp game. It's super fun but it's started to die and the front page of the game is just getting filled with slop, i have made so many friends there, the community is small but amazing
in jtoh, when you unlock later rings the towers progressively get more and more fun so you just gotta brute force through the towers the are like 5 years old to play the new towers that are a few months old
if you ever were to make a part 2 of this(which you probably won't) id recommend Blastworks, its not the best but I'd still recommend it, it's a bossrush game btw.
didn't expect to see jtoh on here... but, yes i do agree, jtoh at the beginning is kinda slow and bad because the original owner wanted it to be an annoying rage game. but, once you progress it gets way better with way more mechanics to learn. and dont get me started on the progression... its not just difficulty... its bosses and stuff like that. the detail in some areas are also just amazing too, for example zone 8 or garden of eeshol. but i do respect your opinion on the start of the game lol...
honestly garden of eeshol was one of the best things ever to happen to jtoh because it allows you to skip tower of overcoming hatred, which was one of the worst point-sources of the shitty early game experience
I played JTOH before and it got quite boring after that since yeah it was unique with all its towers but i DID managed to get into some places rather get stuck in ring 1 but it got boring.... So i just slowly stopped playing it its replay value is good but not enough really and I will never play decaying winter my wi fi is sh37
The entire game is my favorite part of the game, the changeable animations, the funny lines, the mechanics, and more! Sure, there's some enemies I wish to have reappear, like Bigfoot and his amazing boss music, because even though red & blue are nice, aside from them feeling like team rocket, they aren't too much of a challenge... Actually, maybe one of them should switch to a ranged weapon... Probably blue, maybe a toy slingshot with piercing and a sword as backup, so it gets more interesting...
You should try Adventure Story, even though it is on life support right now with its 5-10 players, it's holding up somewhat well with minor glitches, a story that only takes a few hours to beat, and two boss fights
I highly recommend you give Combat Initiation and Decaying Winter another try, Combat Initiation just updated, and you judged Decaying Winter unfairly. Decaying winter is not that confusing if you actually analyze what you're doing wrong and right, and by using context to help learn More detailed info here: Combat initiation got an update, i recommend you try it again. I would suggest solo runs cuz its way easier than party runs due to yourself being the only one you have to depend on. The following text are tips to help you learn the game while keeping the "trial and error" feel to it Decaying Winter on the other hand: well, its a hardcore game. whenever something good/bad, you have to apply basic problem solving skills and take what you did/saw/heard and apply it to what happened. Examples: reading the descriptions/names of items can help you know what they do (if you have a status effect and it seems to be making you bleed, maybe a bandage will help) whenever you hear: "warning, agent on your team is down" a skull appears in the bottom left and it seems to give you a debuff, which means teammate death is probably bad (well duh) if you die to a guy with a gun in an area on your map called "castle" that might mean that someone else is in that castle and its dangerous, so explore everywhere else before going again after reading the controls you'll realize that you wont be using all of them etc. etc, i could go on forever about this game. I would highly recommend Decaying Winter to players who know how to use and apply logic effectively and people who are looking for a challenge
I was looking for a challenge, and I was challenged. I was also confused. I had to get outside help the entire way. Unless you have giant fucking balls and an IQ of 200 you aren't going to know jack shit the entire time. The game is fun, but it only gets fun after getting help from outside sources to learn how to play the game. I haven't seen a single person in decaying winter who didn't get their knowledge from an outside source. Can't blame them, the game doesn't tell you a damn thing. Basic problem solving helps, but the descriptions of the items are basically useless until you get afflicted by whatever that item is supposed to help with. This game isn't beginner friendly in the slightest, because even the players aren't welcoming. I joined a public server to learn how to play and died a lot. So my teammates got really mad at me and started ridiculing me. When I asked them how to play, the only response that I got was "just use the trello" like what? Why should I use a trello when trial and error is supposed to be the teacher to how you play the game? Well I'll tell you why, it's because this game fails at that completely. Trial and error isn't going to solve everything. The creators of the game were too lazy to add a tutorial so instead of adding one they based the game on trial and error. Anyone who actually listens to a single description in the game or on the game page is just led astray 😅
@@wrinklybrain832 I can tell you, it does NOT take 200 IQ to make the necessary, basic correlations between causes and effects to play Decaying Winter.
@@wrinklybrain832 You could just go to different servers and find people that are actually kinder and helpful. The game is a roguelike and intentionally hardcore meaning trial and error is your teacher. I died many times in-game and learned how to beat the game. Ex: Learning enemy patterns and parrying.
@@wrinklybrain832fair point, the game is not beginner friendly, and its not supposed to be. I got used to this game pretty quickly, so some bias is involved (not much tho) i disagree with some of your points though. QUICK SUMMARY: This game requires thinking, and seems insanely unfair if you don't immerse yourself in the world or not do the thinking needed. summary of the summary: this is a hardcore game, not meant for those who cannot use logic efficiently THE POINTS: a tutorial would ruin the game, as a tutorial would reduce the variety of player types, as it forces you to find what works, which is different for everyone. it will also make the game seem less hardcore the description does tell you enough about the game, even about the difficulty. "heavy emphasis on individual as well as team performance and not failing" and "You will fail, and are not expected to win or perform well every run" this tells you that failing usually has great consequences, aka. morale and wiping, but you are expected to fail, and face those consequences. joining a public server can get you ridiculed, but their complaints usually reveal more about the game. (as long as you aren't stupid and get mad at insults) in summary all that im saying is that this game requires you to think quite a bit and be able to immerse yourself in its world
Really depends on who you play with tbh, I was lucky enough to have a team explain what I needed to look out for and wanting to master the gameplay loop made me keep coming back
@@TheMaxGuy you dont need to do this go in a public server, look at whatever the fuck they have in the base, and ask "what does this thing do", and they'll give you the exact information on the fly its encouraged to help newbies, although most players hate them because having one bad player will heavily peanilize the rest, if you show youre willing to grow and learn they WILL accept you and in just two days you'll know how to play correctly

6:58 Having played Earthbound many times, the amount of references this game has is amazing, it makes for a really fun experience when you recognize some of the jokes from the game, like both Turtles being the second slowest like the Hole Masters or the Penguins and Fire Ants resembling Mr. Saturn and Tenda Villages, even some of the songs sound very similar to those in Earthbound and it was fun guessing the song's inspirations
4:34 this game is one of those "throw them in the water until they learn to swim" games. No real explanations, unfairly difficult at some times, very harsh learning curve. You really gotta learn it all on your own
If your gonna play neon knights, you should check out their group, they have a really underrated game called boost vector, it’s a racing game where you slide across the track wearing some bands and you have to get first, utilising the mechanics like grabbing gems for boost or well, just boost pads. There are also multiple bands that do different boosts or go different certain speeds, with their own boost categories, not only that but there is a special band skin that SWITCHES the boosts, so you can do some zany things with it.
Thing is games like dead cells also have this mechanic to die, learn, repeat (its the motto) but they execute it much better. Maybe its better because there are many ways to dodge the attacks, from the simple roll to the harder to learn parry, thow i wouldnt know ive only beaten the Concierge and finished the village map after that
you should check out "the battle bricks". Its a single player tower defense game thats inspired by the battle cats, most youtubers who covered it in their "40 underrated roblox games you should play!!!" only covers the tip of the iceberg, it will probably take a few weeks to get to the best parts of the game
I remember the battle bricks I got stuck on the TAAAANK stage or smth like that since like a year ago I have started to play it since like in 2022 I think? (I dunno when it released)

You can clear one death morale with the Orange stim (BL1). Morale is Capped to 3 for 60 seconds upon use of the BL1 Stim. Hope this makes the experience better
may i suggest randomly generated droids? (contrary to the name, it's nothing like sol's rng) its a rougelike with a bunch of characters that have unique abilities but i wont spoil too much. since you liked combat initiation, i think you will like this game.
Randomly generated droids is a pretty cool and unique game, but sometimes i just feel like it gets really repetitive and tedious when you're trying to grind for a new class
9:16 if you think jtoh is boring I would recommend trying flood escape 2. In my opinion it’s the best obby game on Roblox because the maps look amazing (mostly) the music is great and recently it got 70 whole new maps into the game. Also I recommend pillgrammed it is pretty much 3d terraria
please try "in plain sight 2". its a game where you play as a thief or a camera who tries to shoot the thieves with lasers. You unlock new characters (with abilities) fast and each feel unique and interesting. Best of all, the game still receives updates with new maps and reworks.
yeah that definitely happened LMAO (I am currently barricaded inside my bedroom, I hear pounding on the door, followed by screams that sound something along the lines of "MAYBE IF YOU TOOK THE TIME TO PLAY IT, YOU WOULD'VE ENJOYED IT!!!!!!!!" I am terrified.)
Hey, decaying winter fan artist and fan game maker, I understand how you believe it's bad because of the HARSH learning curve, I know. It took me 2 years to even get into the game. My tip is, just have fun with friends in private servers. And, yeah, the deaths do help. It helps minor amounts, but a big example is going into the castle, you die from a LOT of people and "female streamer." so then you know to not go in there. I get that games are for certain player bases, but I think the title and your opinion based rating is unfair to the community of DW or other games you ranked low on this list, it wafts away players that might really like the game. Saying its bad is a bad response to a game which tells you in the trailer, aka the first thing you see, that it takes a lot of time to get used to, hence, you will die a lot. I know this isn't an actual critique, but I believe in this scenario it is, skill issue.
in response to criticisms of combat initiation's bosses: SKILL ISSUE!!!!! RRAAAAAHHHHHHHH in all seriousness, i'm glad you actually covered the game, because it's one of my favourite roblox games out there and needs more players. also, the version 2 update (which is gonna add another stage and new weapons) is coming out like... like right now i think
One thing about Block Tales is that you can party up with friends and gang up on the NPCs together, it makes the boss fights more fun but also a bit more time consuming since they the game needs to wait for your friends to give their inputs for the turn
Not sure if you’ve ever covered Pillar Chase 2, but it’s definitely worth checking out for an underrated game, just make sure you have an extra pair of boxers at the ready

Before people go ahead and say "where's this game" or "these games aren't even underrated", I want you to know that whatever game you suggested that isn't in the video I have probably played at one point or another, I just decided not to include it because of various reasons.
Quite the fair point. I do disagree with dummies vs noobs having such low ratings.
where are you getting the last part from
What's up with the title of the video? I wouldn't say that these games are really underrated (Block tales has 98% rating etc), I would really appericiate if you would include games like The Zombie Onslaught overhaul or Monster Islands, they really are good tho TZO is repetetive a bit
That’s not what underrated means tho
so,about decaying winter, think of it as a rogue like, you need to play like 20 runs until you start figuring stuff out,its hard to get into but its amazing once you figure it out.
Personally, the learning experience was also fun, but I might just be a masochist (I play touhou and project moon games)

Probably also why they've started moving off of the roblox platform (They're starting up on Steam now)
It was a really well-made game for roblox, there IS a degree of gun customization but that comes later (around midgame) and is locked behind secrets that you either have to ask about or find on your own.
(until you run out but you'dve already beaten the game like a bajillion times by then.)
Honestly, they promised that NK would get finished, but It doesn't look too bright right now.
a lot of their attention is focused on their first non-Roblox game (good on them for moving on, tho!).

To understand why people like JTOH, most of the beginner levels (towers) were made around 2018 and are horribly outdated. Its popular mainly out of community-made towers that usually include custom mechanics and much better gameplay. Boost vector is pretty fun, i played it a while ago
Boost vector has no guide at all in the tracks of the game which make it trash and annoying, there's seriously no arrows or guidance to help you go on the direction you're supposed to
Fun Fact: Boost Vector is also made hy the devs of Neon Knights (For those who don't know)
Your opinion on Decaying Winter is honestly understandable because the game is NOT beginner friendly. A ton of items don't even tell what they do like antibiotics. They keep the constant "infection" bar back, not heal you. The skulls appear when a teammate dies and now that they stay a fixed time, there is no "morale" word under it, which would be the name of the effect.

As for talking about the lore or what happens after you get the endings, I decided to keep this video as spoiler-free as possible when talking about any game that had lore in them. Besides that, the list of the games I was going to review kept changing to conform to what I personally wanted to talk about + I set a deadline for myself so I could get the video done on time and so that meant that some of the games I talked about in this video were played on a whim only so I could get a basic level of understanding about them, yours included.
I don’t actually post my times, but it’s always fun to play it in speedrun mode, though I haven’t picked up the game in about half a year or a year
It released with only 1 chapter but whatever
Chapter 1 started it all, Chapter 2 was okay, and Chapter 3... well... how do i start? Enjoyment? Yes. Maps? Yes. Creativity? Yes. Better than The Haunt? That's a yes for everyone.
Decaying Winter heal guide (since yes)
- Basic Medkit has 2 default uses and heals slight amount of health (15 health)
- Advanced IFAK is 1 default use and restores a lot of health. (40 health)
- To understand how pills work, you need to learn Infection mechanic.
(Note that unlike regular bleeding which caps your minimal health at 1, Artery will kill you, so find one asap.)
- Splints heal fractures (fractures give inability to sprint).
Hemostatic Zanustin (Ampule) cures Cripple (inability to shove) and temporarily halts negative effects such as bleeding, BUT DOES NOT REMOVE THEM
- And Ballistic Vest... you guessed it... decreases damage taken.
Like hell my dumbahh will read allllll that shi😭😭
this dude is already too deep into the transformation... the transformation into the tip guy
This is a horribly convoluted explanation. For a casual, all you need to know is:
-Medkit and IFAK heal your HP
-Bandages cure bleeding
-Torniquet cures artery
-Splint cures fracture and cripple
-Tablets and antibiotics temporarily halt infection progress
-Red stim gives full HP and cures bleeding
-Orange stim cures 1 morale and improves stamina regen
-Green stim gives damage resistance
-Blue stim gives infinite stamina and speeds up all animations
-Purple stim increases melee damage
-Hemostasis injector gives damage resistance and cures all debuffs except infection and morale

in decaying winter, you will die, get hurt, ect ect, but all this is happening for a reason!!

@@chunkytheduck2980 some are self explenatory (warning:agent on your team is down, and then the skull appears, judging by the appearence its nothing good, broken leg icon looks like a broken leg, think of this game as a rogue like)
his point is that even though stuff happens for a reason, (like the trap he touched in one of the clips) there's little to no explanation on why it happened, so most of the time, the player just assumes the game's unfair which is completely understandable when a red skull icon appears at your screen and a red, bloody vignette slowly starts to fade in out of seemingly nowhere

Combat Initiation, otherwise known as Cocaine Inhalation, is an amazing game. With your regards with the bosses, I refute and think that the bosses are rather quite quick if you have the right idea. An example would be Jason, skipping over details for the sake of readability, is mostly a melee boss and doing quick parry attack on him will basically deal lots of damage. Other tactics will also be effective on later bosses, so on and so forth, and with that I say "skill issue".
doing the coin speedrun strat on Jason also works when he's not moving
People got the defeat king under 60 seconds, that means, you can defeat all the other bosses under 60 seconds.
The game is inspired by ultrakill so you can use tactics from that game, for Jason who represents the swords machine, you just gotta parry his attacks (you also should parry whenever you can)
For the captain, who is basically v2, never let him get far from you, alwayd stay close to him and get ready to parry/reflect his projectiles
And then there's vagabond, who is Gabriel, the boss was actually impossible for me until I learned you can parry almost all of his moves, then he became an actual fun and challenging boss, when before he was just a wall that I couldn't climb on

@@Cyborg2457 Tower World is still in alpha so you can give it a pass when it comes to certain flaws, but my issue with JToH is that, once again, the early stages aren't good, and because they aren't that good, most players won't feel the incentive to keep playing and see the later stages that are actually fine.

Heres one quick tip: dying will cause you to give all other alive players a debuff that causes most stats to be nerfed.

if you like underrated games, i'd check out geucc's other games than regretevator
they're pretty unique and interesting with a lot of future replayability and secrets, some obtainable nobody has found.
also the omori music made me sad because I just finished the game
3:51 my brother in Christ you just ran at a gun scav with no melee and expected it to work also your at castle which is supposed to be difficult because it houses the way to get true end which is guarded by a raid boss. From this experience you learn: don't run at gun scavs with no melee (or in general) and don't go to castle unless you want to deal with gun scavs or sledge queen (the raid boss) Decaying winter is a game with alot of time investment to learn everything but to learn the basics takes about a few hours.
Hey I wanna say
I never seen you before but
You are awesome
Your love for games and familiarity with them and the soundtrack is inspiring
I've had countless conversations over a games where they just play because of Gacha game's cute anime girls or AAA hype or bad ea sports games
And even then alot of people misinterpret games or never bother to go deeper into why they are fun or meaningful
Why a game does or doesn't exude soul and passion and love or emotion
You seem like the type who does, even if this wasn't the main focus of the video at all.
Straight up horrible experience for people who are new in order to truly play it you have to go through a headache to understand it it's not fun
to let things clear with decaying winter, decaying winter is a game that it is IMPOSSIBLE to put together with the word beginner friendly, pros or intermediates usually kicks new players because they will "ruin the run", they dont know what they are doing.
decaying winter is a trial and error game, for example: just like you i died A LOT of times in the castle, i didn't know it was dangerous and took me some time to realise it was dangerous
it takes some times to realise what you are, and how you would fit, some suck at combat, soo instead of taking a meelee perk they become a ranged perk, same with with the ones that suck at both, they become support.
a thing not many people understand is that decaying winter is a HARD game, not hard, *HARD*, your opinion is kinda understandable due to that, if you give it a second chance, try learning it, reading the wiki and asking for help (they seen not friendly but 90% of the fandom will help you), you might actually like it
though i understand if u dont like it, hard games are not for everyone, i think i am a masochist.
Hey Daiorg, i wanna give some suggestions for the part 2:
Offroading Epic - a game about trucking, exploring the map and driving around for fun.
OakLands - a little complicated game about logging, which still updates and is very interesting to play.
Mining INC: Remastered - a simple mining game about working in different roles and earning cash toghether.
Hope you will find it useful!
bro when i first played combat initiation it felt kinda nostalgic and was also a good skill based game. Thank you for promoting this game
Pilgrim med is so fun to learn that I don’t even feel like I’m learning unlike Deepwoken
@@XD-yn6hb Fr I got Deepwoken a while ago and I stopped playing because it just didnt make sense to me and therefore wasnt fun

It sucks to day, but the masterpeice parts of JToH are locked behind progression. Later rings are made later in time and have WAYYY LESS boring gameplay and more creative mechanics, its sad...
Did he play paradise atoll? Or ToZD?? Those are modern towers with easy access
Am pretty sure he made it to ring 2 and called it a day
It is a nightmere to get to the newer realms though. You have to beat difficult towers to get to ring 4 and challenging towers to get to ring 5 which means the grind slows almost completely and it’s just trying to beat a challenging even the easiest one is incredibly hard.
well, I did say that "it probably gets better the more you advance", so I might give it another shot...

1:52 as a level 45 combat initiation player, i can say that bosses DONT take long to beat, you just have to know their moves and counter them (basically)
I mean yeah, the first few are definitely pretty easy, but they move a little too fast and they're very small little guys meaning that you usually gotta do some hitscan auto-aim stuff to actually hit them
@@Daiorg2 Sword + M1, you can literaly beat jason in under a minute, and captain as well is not hard scince all his atacks are parriable and deal a lot of damage to himself and vagabond can take some decent time to defeat if you dont parry most of his atacks

blockate is a really fun underated game, you make smaller games with a simple building mechanic and you try to gain players, it can range from an actual game to an rp game. It's super fun but it's started to die and the front page of the game is just getting filled with slop, i have made so many friends there, the community is small but amazing
in jtoh, when you unlock later rings the towers progressively get more and more fun so you just gotta brute force through the towers the are like 5 years old to play the new towers that are a few months old
i dont think most beginners would want to experience the unholy amounts of bullshit that earlier areas have to offer, thats why jtoh is so unpopular
if you ever were to make a part 2 of this(which you probably won't) id recommend Blastworks, its not the best but I'd still recommend it, it's a bossrush game btw.
didn't expect to see jtoh on here... but, yes i do agree, jtoh at the beginning is kinda slow and bad because the original owner wanted it to be an annoying rage game. but, once you progress it gets way better with way more mechanics to learn. and dont get me started on the progression... its not just difficulty... its bosses and stuff like that. the detail in some areas are also just amazing too, for example zone 8 or garden of eeshol. but i do respect your opinion on the start of the game lol...
Jtoh is actual hot garbage from ring 1 to 5 and zones 1 to 2. That’s ALOT of the game that is boring obby garbage. At least the subrealms are fire.
@@monstrosity598 skill issue
@@emilydavidson8844he is right, alot of the earlier areas are genuinely awful

Ok so dummies vs noobs does look simple at first but there's actually alot more stuff in the game where you can learn from the in game encyclopedia
You want more? The demo 2 is out!
Want even more? The demo 3 is out and it's AMAZING HOLY ITS ABSURDLY GOOD AND DEEP AND EMOTIONAL AND INTENSE AND FUN AND WOW

Decaying winter is not that confusing if you actually analyze what you're doing wrong and right, and by using context to help learn
More detailed info here:
Combat initiation got an update, i recommend you try it again. I would suggest solo runs cuz its way easier than party runs due to yourself being the only one you have to depend on.
The following text are tips to help you learn the game while keeping the "trial and error" feel to it
Decaying Winter on the other hand: well, its a hardcore game. whenever something good/bad, you have to apply basic problem solving skills and take what you did/saw/heard and apply it to what happened.
Examples: reading the descriptions/names of items can help you know what they do (if you have a status effect and it seems to be making you bleed, maybe a bandage will help)
whenever you hear: "warning, agent on your team is down" a skull appears in the bottom left and it seems to give you a debuff, which means teammate death is probably bad (well duh)
if you die to a guy with a gun in an area on your map called "castle" that might mean that someone else is in that castle and its dangerous, so explore everywhere else before going again
after reading the controls you'll realize that you wont be using all of them
etc. etc, i could go on forever about this game.
I got used to this game pretty quickly, so some bias is involved (not much tho)
i disagree with some of your points though.
QUICK SUMMARY: This game requires thinking, and seems insanely unfair if you don't immerse yourself in the world or not do the thinking needed.
summary of the summary:
this is a hardcore game, not meant for those who cannot use logic efficiently
THE POINTS:
a tutorial would ruin the game, as a tutorial would reduce the variety of player types, as it forces you to find what works, which is different for everyone. it will also make the game seem less hardcore
the description does tell you enough about the game, even about the difficulty.
"heavy emphasis on individual as well as team performance and not failing"
and
"You will fail, and are not expected to win or perform well every run"
this tells you that failing usually has great consequences, aka. morale and wiping, but you are expected to fail, and face those consequences.
joining a public server can get you ridiculed, but their complaints usually reveal more about the game. (as long as you aren't stupid and get mad at insults)
in summary all that im saying is that this game requires you to think quite a bit and be able to immerse yourself in its world
Really depends on who you play with tbh, I was lucky enough to have a team explain what I needed to look out for and wanting to master the gameplay loop made me keep coming back
I think you should give Decaying Winter another try since there are a lot of informations on the Fandom and Trello
going outside the game to figure out how to play it before you get into the game is not good game design
If a game needs to be researched heavily just to be playable, it shouldnt be a game IMO
@@TheMaxGuy You only need to use the trello if you're stupid
@@TheMaxGuy you dont need to do this
go in a public server, look at whatever the fuck they have in the base, and ask "what does this thing do", and they'll give you the exact information on the fly
its encouraged to help newbies, although most players hate them because having one bad player will heavily peanilize the rest, if you show youre willing to grow and learn they WILL accept you and in just two days you'll know how to play correctly
@@ignacionachoberardo3837 and where do you think they learn the information from...

19:39 yo that game looks underrated
sigh.. u will be dissapointed its a battlegrounds game
@ I played it and it’s fun

-you drop the remote explosives right infront of you, you dont throw it
-the castle is a place you shouldnt even go near to
-Antibiotics and Amoxcillin are used to slow down the infection (debuff(?) recieved upon spawning)
-When the time bar of the infection runs out, it turns into Infection lvl 2
-Each infection level does something thats a detriment to your character
-Infection lvl 1: nothing. Infection lvl 2: reduced speed by 10%. infection lvl 3: reduced max hp by 10, reduced damage resistance by 20% and reduced speed by 10%. Infection lvl 4: reduced max hp by 25, max speed by 35%, reduced damage resistance by 35%. and randomly get the Tinnitus debuff (screen blurs and shakes). Infection lvl 5: you die
-The starting auxiliary (the gas mask) gives invincibility to the storm for 35(?) seconds
-The mask is not needed when you hear AGENT say "now entering a safe area"
-If AGENT says "now leaving the safe area" it means that is how far the storm can reach, and how far an item needs to be to be considered as a 'lost item' (lost items despawn upon wave cleared)
-Its better to watch Videos and learn tips about Close Quarters Combat (CQC) and Far Distance Combat (FDC)
-Death morale (Shortened to 'Morale' by the community) is a long lasting debuff that applies a 10%-20% reduction to ALL stats (melee damage, defense, speed, etc.) with the max amount of Morale achievable being set to 4.
-While still on the topic of morale. You can clear one death morale with the Orange stim (BL1). Morale is Capped to 3 for 60 seconds upon use of the BL1 Stim.
Hope this makes the experience better

protip in decaying winter: press 0 for a free throwable weapon everytime you spawn in
Hey, decaying winter fan artist and fan game maker, I understand how you believe it's bad because of the HARSH learning curve, I know.
