Thank you very much, sir. This is incredibly important to review when studying about salivary gland swellings and the surgical techniques in parotid gland tumors.
@@AdelBondok I'm a General Surgeon, probably older than you ( Born in 1944 ) and took the FRCS from England in 1979. I did a few submandibular sialadenectomies. and only two parotids , carefully chosen adenolymphomas that are safer and easier to resect. Your lectures refreshed the surgical anatomy of these organs and made me realize that I have never known the anatomy in such a detailed and comprehensive way. Thank you for your excellent tutorials.

@ The upper part of the carotid sheath (above the posterior belly of the digastric muscle) contains the last 4 cranial nerves (IX, X, XI & XII). @ Below the digastric, the carotid sheath contains only the vagus nerve. this is because: 1. the IX and XII nerves go to the tongue. 2. the XI goes to the posterior triangle.

@mariesa7338 It contains 4 nerves in its upper part. The vagus continues throughout the length. The other 3 nerves leave the sheath to their destination above the posterior belly of the digastric.
Pneumoparotid is defined as the presence of gas within the parotid gland or Stenson's duct. It is due to reflux of air through Stensen’s duct into the parenchyma of the parotid gland. It is very rare.
@@AdelBondok My CT scan report shows left parodit duct show air density space, so I want know is this a disease or something ? is there any treatment of this problem? I have been suffering for the last 4 years
@@hemantbhatta7632 Treatment ranges from conservative techniques to surgical intervention. In minor cases, anti-inflammatory agents and parotid stimulation provide relief. Since oral microbes are usually introduced in a retrograde fashion into the gland, antibiotics should be prescribed. See a surgeon.
