Maybe you could have asked him, is GIbson gonna stop suing everyone?
In 2017, my late wife was battling cancer and she discovered Mark Agnesi and “Guitar of the Day” at Norm’s Rare Guitars. She loved Mark and his playing and looking at those special guitars that were featured. Occasionally she would tell me that I needed get one of those guitars and I would often say we couldn’t afford it. She really liked the episode featuring White Falcons. After she passed, I came across a used White Falcon and bought it in her honor. I tell everyone who comes over about my wife’s love of Guitar of the Day and the White Falcon story. Thanks Mark!
Very cool, thanks for sharing that, @ericoswood1856 🙌🏻 Beautiful story and I'm so sorry about your wife 😢
As one of the fortunate few who got to sit on the most famous couches in the world at Norms with Mark, geeking out a/b’ing the then new hardwired ‘64 custom shop Deluxe Reverb vs the ‘65 reissue, Mark is an exceptional man and great guitar player.
Great interview!!
Glad you enjoyed the interview @reminaya, and thanks for listening 💥 🎶 🎸 !
This was a great interview. Two friendly dudes with a passion having a nice conversation. Enjoyed it!
Thanks for your kind words @casparhese5350 and glad you enjoyed this 👍🏻🎸♫
Guitar of the day was one of my favorite shows on UA-cam. Leaning about whhhhitch hat knobs and the click that comes from a certain bridge. Good stuff! Thank you Mark!
Great interview! Put the next one in Vegas!
I like Lemmo and he was great when I got to meet him at Norms. But I always go back to your videos.
The Play Authentic video was so utterly bizarre. It started with him talking about the history and importance of Gibson guitars to him going into an almost unhinged threatening rant about counterfeits and copies. I was so baffled at the time that nobody at Gibson stopped it going out, or how Mark himself didn’t watch it back and noticed how aggressively he came across. I guess if you’re blinded by a giant ego, you don’t notice these things. It was good that Mark acknowledged that and the importance of the learning experience it provided. Just goes to show how an ill advised 3 min video could ruin years and years of hard work. Great to see him fully settled into his role and enjoying some success. Always struck me as a decent guy, so I wish him the best for the future.
Glad you enjoyed the interview @Tremonster9815, and thanks for listening 💥 🎶 🎸 !
Nice to learn more about Mark. Thanks from another Keef Freak!
Thank you for listening @markprentice1961! 🎉🔥😇
Love Keefs playing so much I named my guitar KEEF. And yes from yet another Keef Freak to you🤙🏽
I watched this interview again and I'm speechless at the enthusiasm for guitars in this channel and again also Mark Agnesi . I moved from Los Angeles and at that time I used to go to West Los Angeles all that time to visit my guitar mentor Ted Greene . Sadly I never went to Norman's place nor West Los Angeles , I should've and met with Mark . He reminds of me and our Music click back in the late 60's and early 70's, when we used to go and hang out at "Manny's Music Shop" in New York City. There is were I met Dickie Betts from the Allman Brothers and Leslie West from "Mountain.". those were the magical years of rock and blues , I miss those days so much, but I'm glad to see a new generation with the same great enthusiasm and has taken the task to carry the torch , for us Rock n Roll People. Like the song says " Rock n Roll People , couldn't change them if I could ". Spread the word and tell every body you know, you've got the rock roll soul.
Thank you for listening @walterlacayo6503! 🎉🔥😇 And yes, those were the magical years of rock and blues for sure! All the best man!
Dude I am loving this! I've seen you do so many great interviews, to see you on this side of the questions is awesome! What a great story.
Glad you enjoyed the interview @terryeaster1, and thanks for listening 💥 🎶 🎸 !
Interesting interview, thanks.
Personally I’m slowly but surely working my way through the Eastman range. Absolutely amazing instruments.
I really am so glad youtube came along, it put me onto Eastman and made me very wary of the big brand mass production names.
Agree, love my Eastmans @martintaylor1758! 🎉🔥😇
Fantastic interview . What lovely person Mark Agnesi is .
Thank you for listening @walterlacayo6503! 🎉🔥😇
Awesome interview. Thank you !
Thank you for listening @benallmark9671! 🎉🔥😇
great show as always Craig! Mark certainly seems to know his stuff about guitars from all his content i've watched.
Thanks for your kind words @jlcougilljr and glad you enjoyed this 👍🏻🎸♫
Mark if your reading this Sir please keep doing those excellent interviews with the artist and his beautiful Brown Lifton case and those Gorgeous Gibson Les Paul Standards “ can’t get enough of them “ !
Plus Legend Mr.Joe Bonamassa the man is Priceless excellence ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like your interview style, even-keeled and inquisitive. So tired of UA-cam "drama" content. You'd be a good journalist. Kudos to Mark, I always loved him on GOTD.
Thanks for your kind words @Smart-Alex and glad you enjoyed this 👍🏻🎸♫
Great interview! Let me tell you about the Mark Agnesi I know. For those who have never had the pleasure of visiting Norman’s Rare, I walked in one Tuesday morning (my first of what would become an annual pilgrimage), and Mark and Norm treated me like a rock star. I assure, I’m not.
Mark sold me a killer Tele which I still cherish. He’s sold me a couple more, and it was always a great pleasure to do business with him, and just spend some time there. Mark, you and Gibson are on your A Game. I love the new guitars. 🎸
Glad you enjoyed the interview @paulgeorgia8013, and thanks for listening 💥 🎶 🎸 !
Great to get to know Mark a bit more. Cool interview!
Thanks for your kind words @GuitarExpress and glad you enjoyed this 👍🏻🎸♫
Nothing but respect for Mark, I'm really glad he didn't give up after the Play Authentic incident. I love what he's been doin. Rock on Mark!!! I'm in desperate need for a cheap LP Custom...hint hint!!! 😉
Me too! @stephenbonshire5678, thanks for listening! 🎸💥🙌🏻
Great Show!
Glad you enjoyed the interview @clydehannah1056, and thanks for listening 💥 🎶 🎸 !
Excellent interview
Glad you enjoyed the interview @holmes1978, and thanks for listening 💥 🎶 🎸 !
i had the peavey impact 2 ,too! one of the very few lefthand guitars available at that time.Ahh my first guitar!
Right on @patrickmckay6621, thanks for listening! 🎸💥🙌🏻
Great interview, mark is doing a great job, having an actual guitar player to be the face of Gibson was a masterstroke. Gibson TV is fantastic, they do stuff on the channel that absolutely no one else would be able to do. Awesome stuff.
Thank you for listening @andrewknowles6027! 🎉🔥😇
I like mark. Great to see him out here again. Thanks for having him on. 🤝
Thank you for listening @Hipsters_N_Hippies! 🎉🔥😇
What an authentic guy who seems to have through hard work and commitment turned a simple retail job into a powerhouse position at Gibson. He’s a huge part of turning it around and might own it one day! I don’t even play guitar but I’m fascinated with them and always loved the way Mark talked about the guitar of the day. What a player too!
Thank you for listening @gerrythompson4480! 🎉🔥😇
I bought a couple guitars from Akron music back in the day. And Virgel Lays shop was just down the road.
Cool @terryhimes5052 Glad you liked this and thanks for listening! 👂 🎶 🎸
I met Mark at the Garage a couple years ago, so easy to talk to , great guy and I told him that he was right about PLAYING AUTHENTIC!! 🤘🏼
Right on @jamessator5564, thanks for listening! 🎸💥🙌🏻
lol are you for real? he was totally wrong and basically costed him a lot
@@mehegama cost him what ? Even bad press is good press……. He still has a job , got the London Garage open and works hard for the company he believes in !
If you haven’t been to the Gibson Garage, you should, I live 6 hours away been there many times and treated better than family because I believe in the brand and the people who work there are passionate about being there!
Did you also sniff his farts?
Thank you both for this interview! Wishing Mark all the best, he is hard working and took both a big chance and a big risk which to me is brave supporting his family. I wish people will stop slagging him. I love Gibson TV and how they turned it around by celebrating all brands 🎉
Glad you enjoyed the interview @ludvanlazarz, and thanks for listening 💥 🎶 🎸 !
Mark made Norms Rare Guitars awesome, and it was rough when Gibson had him read that play authentic script. Glad he's doing good and hope Gibson paid him well for that disaster
I felt bad when Gibson used him for the authentic campaign. They shouldve had their lawyers handle that stuff in private.
Mark was a great hire for Gibson. I'm glad they stuck with him during the controversy.
Thanks for your kind words @markpigliavento2951 and glad you enjoyed this 👍🏻🎸♫
Gibson featured films would be absolutely awesome!!Kick some ass Mark
Glad you enjoyed the interview @CyclopsGuitars8642, and thanks for listening 💥 🎶 🎸 !
Hey Mark what was the most interesting thing you came across when they gave you the keys to the candy store? Any interesting history you didn’t know about?
So happy for Mark and wish him the moon... great presentation brother.
Thank you for listening @kennethhacker3014! 🎉🔥😇
Brilliance, integrity, vision! Mark Agnesi is an amazing human being! GIBSON is very fortunate to have Mark on their team! Go "TEAM GIBSON"!!! ✍🎸🎸🎸
Thanks @1drumm, Rock on! 🎸🙌🏻🔥🎶
Don't know if Mark will come on here to answer this, but I was wondering if they had considered or tried to secure a property on Denmark St for the London Gibson Garage. This is THE music street in London, not what it once was, but having Gibson there would have reaffirmed it's status, and would have been a 2 way thing.
Mark i have a possible one off Melody maker or mongrell that could be a sweet model to base things off. its in my pic.
If you like the original classic Universal monster movies: Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, you should definitely check out Abbott and Costello's absolutely ridiculous series of movies that spoof and lampoon them by inserting their comedic riffing, Abbott the romantic, rational, disciplined anchor, perfectly counter-balancing the slightly shlubby, dramatic/chaotic element of the comedy duo.
lol I used to watch them on Sunday afternoons when I was a kid!
Guitar of the day just hasn’t been the same.
I really like Mike but yes it isn’t the same. Since mark left I don’t get as excited about watching it.
Agree, Lemmo is a great player but it was better with Mark.
It’s still a great way to see and hear great guitars. Kinda the point. Mark was good, Lemmo is good. It’s great it’s still going strong, which I’m sure Mark is happy to see
Lemmo doesn’t have the arrogance for good or bad that Mark had/has. Mark always seems like he has a chip on his shoulder, like the failed writer that became an English teacher. He found success, but not as the rockstar he’s always wanted to be.
I still watch it but your right, it’s not the same without Mark
Bob Rock was a good interview about his experience working with Motley Crue and Metallica it was very interesting and other artists they've interviewed awesome show Mark is great for Gibson
I grew up about 20 miles from Wadsworth. No way there was even 10K people there in the 80's.
Thank you for listening @mikedr1549! 🎉🔥😇
Mr "Play Authentic"
Come back to Norms Mark, need someone to demo the guitars who can play and knows something about them.
So he always have is jacket leather for compensate... and his really deep voice...
💜💚🧡❤💙💛
We all love Mark...... but what happened to Jen!
She is still at norms I think.
Lol that’s so Cool
Thank you for listening @holmes1978! 🎉🔥😇
Is Matt kahler Greg's son?
Mark is cool guy, but somehow I have a feeling he was picturing this job will be more enjoyable, mostly about cool guitars and less about corporate bullshit. He deserves better, both form Gibson and from some angry fans.
Thank you for listening @podfuk! 🎉🔥😇
This dude was born to sell guitars lol
Thank you for listening @jaredwren9304! 🎉🔥😇
director of brand experience….not really marks fault, but that says it all. when you buy a gibson, you are buying a brand, not a guitar. you dont create a brand, a brand is the result of good products. you dont experience a brand, you experience quality and workshipmanship and design and music
Does Gibson make all the top level employees wear leather jackets 24/7?
LMAO haha yes! Thank you for listening @Bullittbl! 🎉🔥😇
@@EveryoneLovesGuitarShoot, I'd wear one!
@@EveryoneLovesGuitarShoot, I'd wear one!
Gimme a Chibson anyday!😅
Very greasy.
Hey Mark just a little PR tip. No-one loves overtly aggressive companies, sadly Gibson these days has an unhappy vibe. Which is real pity
Congrats Mark,
But PRS and Suhr make far better guitars!
The quality control is very better, there is no magic powers in vintage instruments! The Alex Lifeson LP is the first advance in the guitars Gibson has done!
Why advance something that was perfect in the first place? 👍🏻
I think to admit that your ego was getting out of control and you needed to brought down a peg or two and that it was good for you is cool to admit.
So play authentic was his idea. lol.
I would have thought his favorite part was threatening to sue people
Like Mark. Hate Gibson.
I still can't stand agnesi.
Turd smoke Aggnessi
What's wrong with your nose??? Numb?
What’s wrong with Marks nose?
the constant "nose play" is distracting..................
i miss that show at Norm's
but what Mark is doing at Gibson is awesome and i look forward to his episode with guitar collection of artists 😊
Well, the show is still running, better than ever.
anyone that loves guitars is gonna love this interview 👍great my friend have a good day ty
Thanks for your kind words @rayfabris2512 and glad you enjoyed this 👍🏻🎸♫
@@EveryoneLovesGuitar I did ty
ty Mark is awesome he's how i got my first Gibson les paul when he gave out Gibson garages phone number when they just opened it so i called and have no regrets great guitar
Right on @rayfabris2512, thanks for listening! 🎸💥🙌🏻
Michael J Fox ? mine was Sammy Hagar big difference lol😊
lol just a bit, yes...
@@EveryoneLovesGuitar it was 79 Sammy played a lot more guitar back then and I fell in love with his red explorer that was my second guitar and a copy that was about 15 lbs bad back on its way lol
