Man, I watched this on March 10,2024 and I was thinking how lucky to win a Gibson Les Paul ( I won a PRS bass4 in 1986 Guitar Player magazine giveaway) then when I saw that the guy Ernie passed ,I thought he was luckier to meet and be escorted through the facility and talk with him,my wife passed on February 1,2024 and this triggered tears to flow (Man I miss that woman) condolences to his farm and all affected by his passing,RIP sir, great video 🙏🏿💯❤️
This is the best Gibson Custom Shop tour on UA-cam. The big channels inject too much of their own personality and don't let the employees speak enough. Gibson has some really cool people working there! And they all seem to love their jobs, which is rare nowadays. Anyway, great video.
I will remember this video for the rest of my life . I'm musician and Gibson has been my favorite since the beginning . My first Gibson Les Paul was a 1998 Gibson Standard Cherry Burst . I traded it for a Fender 5 string bass at Guitar Center in Cincinnati in 2003/04 . We needed a bass player so I sacrificed . I live in a small town and finding the right bass player was impossible . I've been fortunate to be able to buy some nice Gibson guitars over the years . 2007 SG , 2012 Les Paul traditional , 2016 R9 , 2019 60th anny 59 , 2019 Explorer and Flyin V . I remember having some trouble with my 2019 60th anny 59 . I called the custom shop and talked to a guy that was nice as can be and took care of the issue . It was Ernie . This video showed me who I was talking to . God Bless you Ernie and may you rest in peace , brother !!
I had every intention of commenting this was the best Gibson factory tour I have seen after I got thru watching it. Then totally hit in the gut about Ernie. Man so sorry to hear about his passing. This video turned out to be a great blessing in sharing him with us before he passed. Congrats Boscoe dude you deserve that guitar and because of you some of us got to meet Earnie too thru the video.
Man, what a sad endling I didn't see that coming. Since I started watching your video I got hooked cause of Ernie's friendless and loveable character. Ernie genuinely chose THE guitar for you and that's beautiful man. Enjoy in good health brother.
Well done indeed. Gibson are in a hot country many thousands of miles away from me.... but I've been lucky enough to have had a few of their masterpieces over the years, recently a great example of a Les Paul Standard.... good enough for me, good enough for anyone.
Really enjoyed this video. The folks at Gibson are the real deal as are you. So sorry to see that news at the end about Ernie. He seemed like a really good guy - may he rock in peace. Looking forward to seeing where that beautiful guitar will take you in the future. All the best from a new sub from Ireland. 🤘👍
OMG, Ernie, I knew him by name and voice only from waay back when Historic line was very young, around 1996-ish, I called the Custom Shop for a little jar of nitro, for some minor damage on one of my R9's, and another time for a pickguard or something, I owned several reissues then, Ernie was the guy that I spoke with. When I clicked on this video I saw the name and heard that voice, over 25 years ago and I remembered right away. R.I.P. Ernie, I'll see you there some day, I'll be 70 in July.
Such a great heartfelt video. You are a good soul and I’m so happy you got to have that experience on behalf of all of us. Never watched a factory tour that caught me in the feels by the end. RIP Ernie
How great to see Ernie King once again. Just tonight I ran into old friend and Custom Shop brother Doug Culberson down the road a the local Publix. Ernie, you will be missed, as will Edwin Wilson. Cheers,
Oh man what did he do to be lucky enough to get a tour of the custom shop let alone win a Les Paul a choose the one, I really enjoyed the video then I realised the passing of Ernie King what a great tribute to him. R.I.P.
Loved watching this video! Boscoe seems like a good fella to hang out with and have a beer. RIP to Ernest. From what I saw in this video, he was a super cool guy.
I've had over 7 Les Paul's and many other Gibsons, probably 20, including a 60 es345,but I just bought a Agile LP model for under $400 and the tiger stripes, construction, frets, and playability match anything the Custom shop puts out,and relics are BS. My Agile is 20 years old and only has 2 tiny depressions on the back.

Congratulations, Boscoe! Rest in peace, Ernie…a life well lived and a legacy that will live on.
The passion shared by all of the people in this video is priceless. Ernie truly loved having you there man, you honored him well. ❤

33:30 where he's talking about our mortality ... the irony about Ernie Kings passing isn't lost on anyone watching this.
THIS VIDEO IS AMAZING... Thank you Boscoe, thank you Ernie...
Absolutely fantastic video. What a humble guy.

Thank you for the tribute! Ernie was one of the greats and we will miss him so much.
What a great visit bravo . Sad for Ernie 😢❤. Keep the good work

What a great video ❤
Boscoe made Ernie’s day just as much as he made Boscoe’s. There is so much heart and soul in the employees of the custom shop.
Well done. Worth the watch
I was already getting emotional watching you pick out your new guitar, and then the news about Eddie…. Wow. What a video.
How great to see Ernie King once again. Just tonight I ran into old friend and Custom Shop brother Doug Culberson down the road a the local Publix.
Ernie, you will be missed, as will Edwin Wilson.
Cheers,
The slide piece at the end was a beautiful tribute to Ernie. Wonder if Ernie is the name Boscoe has given that guitar now
I did not see that coming……broke my damn heart 😢
The pic of ernie waving goodbye at the end got me. Damn you scuba steve
Absolutely epic journey, brother. Congratulations and thank you for this video. I did King of the Blue twice in the early 2000''s.

What a great video and such an honest appreciation that Boscoe shows towards the craftsman. RIP Ernest.
damn man... im in tears. thank you for sharing.
i am so happy 4 you
He's literally saying with steel wool aging 😮 Fade to black!
Did i see that correctly? Did gibson start making the zakk wylde lp’s again?
Wonder if it’s a made to measure custom order?
Ya I wonder what that’s about, I was sure it was a limited run many years ago
Cool tour....
Do you have a website for your music? Amazing player
BoscoeFrance.com
I'd sure love to win a custom shop of my choice...good lord
I love the crossroads send off.
39:35 bro did that for no reason 😂
RIP Ernie.
I have a problem--I want one of every model the Gibson Custom shop makes. Help me.
I wish Gibson would do a Les Paul with a Flying V headstock with a velute so the strings are straighter and the headstock stronger.
What year is this Factory tour from?
Anyone wondering why there’s so many zakk wylde signature guitars?
RIP Ernie
Thank god we have Slash!
Thought you were a PRS fella

Rite now,Orville Gibson is rolling in his grave. ( If he only saw these prices).
The guitars they are building here aren't even in production ! Is this video over 12 years old !?
I noticed the same thing but not until I saw the Zakk Wylde Bullseye. The video has to be old.
They reposted this because the 'tour guide", Ernie King passed away last week.
😢
Why do. I always see les Paul's??? We want to see big archtops and carved tops. Too much promotion of l.p.s !!!!!!!
Gibson was not founded by rock and rollers ( thank goodness).????
Picking out his guitar by the top? Yikes
I’m so glad this popped up in yootubeland… what wonderful human beings…
