My true ending to HIMYM. I don't accept the mess of a finale that the show brought out. This and Barney and Robin sticking together is it.
Like there was no need for the divorce... They were just forcing it
To be honest, the last 3 or 4 seasons of that show sucked. The decline started with season 6. It was OK but man, season 7 was bad. Somehow season 8 was worse than that and season 9 was embarrassing. Other than the Time Travelers episode and the Karate Kid episode, the last couple seasons of that show were awful.
The Arcadia story just bores me so much and I hate that girl Ted dates who is abusive to him and we're supposed to laugh because she is a cop?
@@edwardfights4900 They just ruined it for everyone... Literally everyone hates it... Ted is a hypocrite that dumps women over stupid things and I thought he was like you only love once... He still went back to Robin like a lost puppy... It was a waste of time and I still believe he didn't love the mother that much.

This and without the divorce this should have been the best ending
I don't mind that the mom died (I'll explain). That would have been poetically beautiful to show that her death catalysts Ted telling this abnormally long winded story to his kids. But they undermined the show's value with other aspects.
What they should have done is kept Lily and Marshall the same, kept Robin and Barney together as they worked so hard show that they worked so well (maybe they adopt a kid or maybe the same storyline that he impregnated a girl in his past remains true and they raise that kid - so Robin even gets to be a mother now that her career is set), and Ted says to the kids, "Do I miss her? Everyday. Was the journey a long one? Absolutely. Would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat. Because kids... that's how I met your mother." Black screen.

Totally agree. However, this ending right here was too sweet to pass up. I mean, it's miles better than the ending we actually got!

i agree, as much as i don’t want the mother to die, that’s how life goes sometimes and is in spirit with the show. but i can die on the grave that as a character put in that situation, ted shouldn’t just ignore the love of his life and go back to robin
Actually makes sense... This would have actually been a good ending... And everyone would be happy... How is Barney going to a single dad a freaking happy ending? I even lost count of Marshall and Lily children...

UNOFFICIAL? THAT'S THE OFFICIAL ALTERNATE ENDING!!!! To me and other people, it's THE ENDING we wanted!!! It should have been THE OFFICIAL ENDING, not the Alternate!!! And I'm so relieved the producers to make THE PERFECT ending to fix the mistake they made with the original!!!
You probably don't understand the concept of the show. It never really was about how he met the mother. It was how he met Robin that's what the premise really was. The actual ending was quite easy to judge. The only mistake was to name the show himym

May be our life is so messed up in reality that we donot want a tv show to include the real life mess too. So even when it shows that life doesn't make or have to make sense, we want it to be perfect because life in reality is already too hard so why not enjoy ideality in a tv show.

No. The characters regressed in their personality back to season 1 within 15 minutes of the last episode. It’s bad writing.
No the ending was unrealistic in all sense of the word. Robin and Ted can not be put back together. The fact that its so unlike real life is what makes people furious.
Always rooted for Ted & Robin until Kristin Milioti was introduced. She was like the most perfect partner for Ted they could found amongst all what? 7/8 billion of us? Would have preferred this to be the real ending!

They really gave us a full season of Barney and Robin’s wedding to throw it away at the end. And undermine the whole show with “lets go back to Robin.” I didn’t mind the mother dying but for Ted to instantly go back to Robin is kinda the Victoria thing all over again, Ted was still in love with Robin

I loved Ted and Tracy's love story. I'll never understand why the show's writers had to kill Tracy and make Ted and Robin get back together....they clearly weren't meant for each other....while Ted and Tracy were perfect for each other....the ending just made the entire 9 season series and character development meaningless....I strongly feel that the show should have ended after Ted getting his happy ending with Tracy. Also Robin deserved somebody who truly understood her( not Ted or Barney)
I think that person was Kevin. But she threw that out the window. She was also the most uncompromising character on the show. She only made one sacrifice where she turned down a job offer but the boyfriend took it and left her. That sucked for her but othe than that, she kind of proved she was going to be alone.
Love it..but somehow they made it clear that Tracy is gonna die. It is when Tracy says "Which mothers gonna miss their their daughter's wedding?"And Ted begins to cry😭😭

I knew in 8 season when Ted is alone with the robot vs wrestlers tickets and then runs to Tracey's apartment. In that speech he said something like if I could just have a couple more minutes with you and I was like she's dead that's why he's telling this story.

You could be right, but thats a one off clue then, but the way i perceived it was - that Tracy's mother has passed away or was unable to make Tracy's wedding. For those saying they were already married, no they were not. The episode was taken place one year after they met, and they didn't marry until 7 years later or so I think.
This would have been so perfect. I'm really pissed by the mess they made at the ending.

No, I think Bob Saget may have said the 'that kids is how I met your mother' line in earlier season (S1 or S2) when the year 2030 Ted jokingly told the kids that the mother was a random stripper and he just used it in this video. Cmiiw

I love the scene where they take a walk on their first date. Except for that I have no complaints.
And the first minutes of the finale when all of them were still at the weeding.
Thank you so much for this. I just finished the entire show and was so disappointed and confused by the ending. At least now I can beat peace in the sweet denial of this alternate ending. :))

HIMYM was one of the amazing shows I have ever watched but it totally got ruined in like the last 40 minutes of the show

I don't agree that this ending would have been perfect. It's to happy and cliché for me. I like HIMYM because it's not that kind of comedy.
I my opinion the biggest problem with the original ending is not the fact that the mother died or the divorce of Barney and Robin. Sad things can also be beautiful and Barney still show lots of growth during the series. Also the problem is not the fact that he goes hit on Robin again. Because the daughter is right: the whole story is totally about Robin. The story makes sense. No the problem is that Robin is portrayed less and less likable during the serie, especially in the last episode. I totally understood Teds crush in the beginning, as I really liked Robin, but in the end going from perfect Tracy to selfish Robin is not how you would like to see Ted end up.

So many stupids comments, one thing is that you don't like and other that you can't accept a different, not super happy ending. Dead is part of life, like if the mother couldn't die or barney abs Robin get divorced, that is life and shit happens. It was a good ending, from the perspective that it is what it is.

I honestly don't love this. This is the typical ending I was expecting. There are definitely huge problems with the ending but this is too predictable for me.

Just Ted going back to Robin is shit, the rest is fine. But those pesky kids were right, the story is too much about Robin.
Meh, I like the original ending. Id say that too much happened too quickly in the last few episodes but overall Ted ending up with Robin makes the most sense, it was about them pretty much the entire series
