One of our planning conditions was to construct a new home for the bats in the area to live in. So we got to work with our usual diy approach and built them a new home! We also renovate the old farm outbuilding for Roxy to use as her new filming room whilst the house is being built.

I agree! They didn't originally have a house ... unless they had to knock down the bat's tree?? I kinda don't get why either??
Under UK law bats are protected and if you have them visiting your land then they need a safe place where they can roost and not be disturbed. This is why a lot of derelict buildings lie empty because bats are using them as their dwelling.
Interesting,Does the land owner have to pay for the housing??
@@3meancats yes, and it's their responsibility to make sure that the bats on their land are not at risk of hazards such as being injured or being tampered with/disturbed. Very complex rules but they are a protected species.
It’s possibly they inhabited the old house before it was pulled down, I’m not really sure. All we know is that the council made sure that building the bats a place to live was a high priority 😊
Love bats but don’t they smell?
In a dry ventilated area, bats and their droppings don't smell.
It's when the area is not ventilated or when their droppings come in contact with moisture that they start to stink.
It's insane to me that you have to build bats a house smh they care more about animals than they do ppl in this crazy world we live in.
Isn't its dangers to have wild bats near your space ..in case you have kids in future ..its not safe for them
