Your wood shed is nicer than the best piece of furniture I've ever owned.
It's nicer than the apartment I'm living in 🥲
Lol. That’s funny
@@julien.2573😂😂😂
This shed in North America would cost you about $50k if you paid a professional 😅
@@terenceyuen4424 Who is he trying to impress ? I 'm assuming he will carefully select only firewood that is worthy of his ridiculous creation.
Meticulous? No, it’s just pride in craftsmanship. This is becoming a lost art, and you are a master. Thank you for sharing with us!
Craftsmanship is being meticulous..
Meticulous... went way past that. He's in the 1%
That's the best looking woodshed, I've ever seen. A picture of it loaded with firewood would be great to see.
I too would love to see that.
That isn't a woodshed, it's art with a day job. ❤
Im still amazed at the engineering that goes into Japans housing. Made to last many lifetimes. Exceptionally beautiful work Shoyan!!
"Im still amazed at the engineering that goes into Japans housing. Made to last many lifetimes."
You would think, but Japanese homes are only built to last 25 years. They aren't built nearly as well as this woodshed. When you buy a home in Japan, it isn't an investment like in the US. You expect the value of the home to fall to 0 in just 10-15 years. In Japan homes are to live in while in the US they are stores of value for the banks.
@@shanedevon6447 I live in a 150 year old Japanese house and I found one rotted floor joist. Pine on the ground will tend to do that after a century or so lol.
The main reason that there might not be many old houses around anymore (thats debatable btw) is because they either burned down at some point, or it became easier to tear them down and build a new home rather than modernize an old one.
I am 58 years old with 38 years of experience in carpentry from rough to cabinetry and furniture. You choose to make utility structures. I am impressed with your species choices matching special use requirements, and overall design purpose verse astatic balance. This is also a very good video showing "proper" attitude and skills in fastener applications.
I love when structures are over designed. They will last far beyond the usual life span. 100 years from now it will still serve.
A woodshed for the ages. Beautiful.
Thats what i call craftsmanship .
Your carpentry skills will hopefully be passed down to future generations and should be considered a national treasure. Skill, art, pride in workmanship, your videos have it all. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
Shoyan, you are a Master Carpenter and meticulous is normal for you. This is why I enjoy watching your work no matter what the project is as the quality is excellent. This wood shed will outlast it owner and he should be very, very pleased with the workmanship. 👍🏼🔨😎
Shoyan-san, the wood shed is a thing of beauty. The materials, craftsmanship and style remind me of my time touring rural Japan - one of the best times of my life. Arigato gozimas for sharing this video.
I love the foundation and how the sill sits way above the ground like that! Especially to preserve the sill it’s just a smart move I doubt you’ll ever regret. And that joinery… it’s stunning and will last through the ages not to mention it’s beautiful and quality well built structure! We need more of this craftsmanship. Joinery is something I’m passionate about so it’s just fascinating to watch! This reminds me a bit of Man About Tools, you ought to check out his YT channel because you both are similar to build technique and style
A Rolls Royce woodshed, from an Artisan whose own high standards are on a par!....Kudos Sir!
I love watching Japanese carpentry. These are true craftsmen who take pride in their work.
I learned more in twenty minutes watching this video than I have in hours of scouring the internet for information on how to build. Thank you, Shoyan for sharing! I am looking forward to watching your videos and learning more!
There are modern houses in the UK built with less care and attention. Love Japan and the care and attention to detail in the way things are made.
A TRUE MASTERPIECE OUTSTANDING VERY WELL DONE
Should we discuss the awesome lumber he has access to? U can't find that in the states unless u pay an arm and a leg. The craftsmanship here is next level.
Japanese carpentry such exquisite work
Awesome job. There's no such thing as "overkill" when it comes to woodworking and building. Great video as always, cheers :)
Is this my new favorite channel on UA-cam? 😀
The pain of needing to use variety of fastners, screws and nails of different sizes, really slows down the process. Despite all of those insignificant obstacles you still accomplished a lot of work in one day.
it will last for 100 years...amazing work
Japanese work ethic and craftsmanship is an example to the rest of the world. Thank you for showing us.
Wow this channel is like the japan version of Essential Craftsman. Love it!
I learn a great deal from watching your channel
more time invested in planning and building properly can yield decades more in longevity. this is the proper way to do it.
I am a master carpenter from America. I'd love to come to Japan and work with you for a week. I think both would enjoy that.
Yea you could tell him all about it .
I really enjoy watching Japanese carpentry. And what could be better than watching you building the world's best looking wood shed. 👍😃
0:47 that chalk box is awesome
I enjoy the mixing traditional carpenter art with modern hardware and mashines.
I love the usage of safety helmets while standing on lose board bridged between two ladders.
YOU CAN NEVER GET TOO METICULOUS.
AWESOME HUMANS
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR ABILITIES
I wish I had someone like you teaching me when I was an apprentice carpenter. I absolutely look forward to all your videos.
That's the most luxurious firewood rack that I've ever seen in my life.
Shoyan-san
I would not put wood in that wood shed.
I would put the work of art of a master carpenter in my home.
My man it's an absolute delight to see someone put this much effort into a woodshed. Well done!
Woodsheds that are built better than most office blocks. Incredible..
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship !!! All that beautiful wood, especially cedar !!! I could smell the Sawdust !!!
This is not a wood shed, it's a wood palace! Beautiful!
This is exactly the level specificity I need to soothe my brain 😂
the quality of this cedar vs box store wood is insane
Masterpiece!
Only Shoyan would hand cut dovetails and bring a hand planer to use on the frame of a shed. Beautiful work like always!
Hello from Canada! I wanted to say, I enjoy watching your videos because of all the care and details you put into your work! I am an amateur woodworker, and strive for your level of care and skill.
Same! If I can accomplish 1/10 of the quality of that work I will feel accomplished 😅
You should definitely visit Japan people over there take pride in their work. Even McDonalds food looks and taste way better 😅
Japanese construction methods are so impressive.
Pretty sure you're correct, and "batten" is the English term whether it's for roofing or wall sheathing. The only way it wouldn't be called a batten, would be if it were the same size as the roof board.
that thing aint going nowhere! good job
Great work! 👍🏾😎Looks great. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from 🇩🇪
This is mind blowing. I rarely comment, but, yeah. This is amazing. Great inspiration for my own woodshed!
Great work by a “good man”
This is the result of replacing "time is money" with "pride in craftsmanship"
I love the precision Japanese
I'd trust that woodshed in a storm before my own home 😂. Man that's amazing! Most Americans wouldn't want to pay for this detail. Really can't say enough it's just crazy the amount of detail.
A joy to watch and listen to.
Your meticulous attention to detail truly paid off in this stunning woodshed build! Your commitment and craftsmanship are truly inspiring. Subscribed to your channel for more amazing projects like this one!
super, greetings from poland, warsaw
That is so beautiful! I love the effort into detail you put. And I love the fact you chose nails instead of screws for the gable ends of the woodshed for aesthetics.
Wow...!!! So Beautiful to see you work. Thank you for sharing. Arigato.
Beautiful
Super nice
Greetings Sir from South Africa. At 8.12 in the video I see behind you some very big and beautiful beams that looked worked-on. I would love to see what you are doing with them. You have beautiful skill.
Sehr schöne Arbeit, besonders gefällt mir das sehr schöne Holz mit dem du arbeiten kannst.
Beautifully done! You are an artist. Hopefully woodshed owners realize what a masterpiece they have! Excellent video making technique, very professional! Fun to watch. 美しく完成しました! あなたはアーティストです。 薪小屋の所有者が自分たちがどれほど傑作を持っているかを理解してくれることを願っています。 優れたビデオ作成技術、非常にプロフェッショナルです。 見ていて楽しい。
The shed is much better than my indoor furniture what I have built. great job.
That’s the most beautiful wood shed I’ve ever seen. Well done.
End result looks amazing. I would have thought the roof would be in nice coloured corrugated steel or is cedar used everywhere. 👍😀😀
Beautiful woodshed. 👍
I’ve watching it four times now. Just enjoy watching a Master Work on something that I like seeing it go up.. Thank you, my friend
I always a lot from your videos. Thank you so much! 😊
Love the massive hammer !
Very very beautiful work as always!!!👌👍💯
Awestruck. When I grow up I want to be Shoyan. Amazing work. Keep building.
All I can say is WOW. That's the most beautiful wood shed I've ever seen. Cost of building a shed of this quality in the United States would be astronomical. Excellent work.
Just discovered your channel, binge watching and subscribed.
Wood is very beautiful.
i love how these great artisans, despite of age, are embracing the online platforms to share their work. good job and have a long life to you.
edit:
i think i'm hearing samurai matcha doing the english voice-overs, if so good job then.
This guys inspiring to watch, I’ll bet even emboldening to be around. Americans have 0 patience for this type of work if it’s not paying $30,000. I’m so grateful humans that care about doing a good job still exist
This woodshed is built with more care than any house built in the last 200 years
Build better than many houses!
The Japanese version of The Woodpecker. Hilarious!
Lovely work - as always
