Tavon Awesome I'm always more interested in the life stories of people who aren't famous as opposed to those who are notable. How did you maintain your composure? How did you succeed? From where did you draw your strength?
Jilliey Gallagher Mostly just my first bout of depression, it was because I didn't get into National Honor Society in my junior year. Believe me, seeing all my friends get into National Honor Society when I didn't made me want to burst out into tears. Luckily Frank taught me to take things as they come and look for something else to occupy my mind. I knew I wouldn't get any better just staying in my room so I took charge of my life.
Mikhail Gorbachev this my song now. I have gotten rid of toxic people. I’ve dusted myself off and keep getting back in the race! That’s Life. It reminds me of my late Dad.
Mikhail Gorbachev The summer before your junior year of high school must have been tough, indeed. Aside from being a local leader of Komsomol, the Soviet Youth organization, you had to help your father on the farm. And I'm guessing a few of your friends were liquidated by Comrade Stalin. But you hung in there, and that's what matters.
I’m a 16 year old kid, that just plays the tuba in a small town band. This is my favorite song to perform. If I could thank Frank, I would. I would tell him how much this song is to me. He worked like hell to perfect his delivery of difficult compositions like this. But as a pro, he would never allow his audience to catch him trying. The art lies in concealing the art.
Songwriting, producing, and the game was totally different back in these days. There was no multitrack recording. This was done in one take with the best musicians in the world. No overdubs and very little post processing/editing. They were just that talented. Frank Sinatra was a true storyteller and quite literally defined what it meant to deliver emotion through music. If you don't feel something when you listen to these big band tunes, you haven't given it a real chance.
Ironically, the final record of That’s Life was fixed in post production. Technical issues forced producer Jimmy Bowen to record just the rhythm track and Sinatra’s vocals. He used other tracks to overdub the horns, Hammond Organ and female background singers at a later date. This only happened a few times, like the albums Watertown and Sing & Dance with Frank Sinatra. Otherwise, it was always Frank and the band together. As it should be!
he turns 107 today. known for his fame, swagger, and of course; his voice the world today still loves him, because he did it his way happy birthday sinatra.

It's 2022. I remember when I was depressed in 2019. That's when I met this song, I always listened to it almost every day. I am very grateful for this work of art.
He worked his whole life on vocaltechnique with some of the best educated operasingets of his era & didn’t give up listening & learning & he has been intelligent
I found out about Frank Sinatra while doing a black history project on Sammy Davis, Jr. in 2006. I was nine years old and found out about Frank and Dean as well. I am so thankful because many people my age don’t know ANYTHING about good music. I have so many recordings and I collect extremely rare recordings from the ‘80s and ‘90s including the fifth time that Frank ever performed “(Theme From) New York, New York” onstage and was a little off key at the end because he wasn’t that familiar with it yet. It’s the earliest live recording I believe. What a journey these last 18 years have been. I have no words. These are my musical roots! The greatest era of entertainment: The 1950s-1990s.
His sound has been really individual (like Martin, Crosby, Bennett) - astonishing & adorable & a gift ! This kind of singers are educated in music & full usedsingingtechniques & personality
There's really no point in trying to hide it! Frank sang like a God! His timbre remains inimitable and some of his hits can be wonderful in any era they can be listened to.
I am very agree. Somehow singers in 70s, 80s, and 90s are much much better and talented than singer nowadays. Back then we got Sinatra, Cobain, Freddie, Elvis, and numerous talented legends. But nowadays? Oh God please help us...
I’m 57 years old and this is my grandma’s music. She got me turned onto it when I was about 7 and 8 yrs old and I was hooked on Sinatra since I was 12.
Funny, faced with a decision thats been stressing me out, yet listening to this gave me the answer. Even if im knocked down, i can always pick myself up again.
Hi friend, I hope you've made it through your troubles. I'm going through a hard time myself. But someone once told me "it doesn't matter how many times you fall, what matters is how many times you get back up."
Frankie does it his way. With his sometimes rich, sometimes thin baritone, he barks his way through this song, hitting every note cleanly. His unique lyricism ranges from almost operatic to almost sprechgesang. His impeccable sense of rhythm gives style and verve to his brilliant phrasing. Frank doesn't just sing a song, he gets inside it and delivers it, he re-interprets it to his own world-view. Perfect pitch and perfect timing make all his performances slick.
Classic...timeless.... I don't care if you're 15 or your 75 this song just Hits. 💯

That Hammond organ is just amazing.
I AM STILL LISTENING IN JULY 2024! ❤😍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏

Born in 94 and here I am, admiring a legend like he’s still here
The organ player having a lot of fun with this
The Old Blue Eyes is indeed a giant!!! No tricks, no technology - just talent and a great voice! That’s it, that’s Frank, that’s life!!!
AND you can understand everything he's saying !
@@wrongway3363 Indeed you are right: I've heard he was obsessed with his pronunciation. I'm from Brazil and when I want to train my English, I listen to Frank's songs...It's always a pleasure. And a great English class....
Nobody compares with this man ,back then or even now. He was the man and always will be until the end of time
Great comment charles love the man to bits superb voice

U are absolutely right! He is THE ONE!
I can think of other singers of his time that most definitely compare. Louis Armstrong, for example.
The only Frank Sinatra... A true natural singer...
This is the true definition of swag.
I'm 20 years old but I still listen to music like this. Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Sam Cooke... why isn't music like this created anymore?
It's 2022. I remember when I was depressed in 2019. That's when I met this song, I always listened to it almost every day. I am very grateful for this work of art.
True
You got this big G!!!
So true It was Frank’s world (and is). We just live in it!
I was fortunate enough to see this man in concert many years ago and he was more amazing that I ever hoped to imagine!!
Hello 👋 how are you doing today
@@HEYMANNOTCOOL50 mins ago
Some people get their kicks
Stompin' on a dream
But I don't let it
Let it get me down... geniuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus!!!!
That’s most American spirit representation I can imagine. And I’m from Russia. So inspiring.
Wow! Those modulations! Never forget that he was a fine musician first and always.
A forever classic by The Great Frank Sinatra.
He just seems to sing with no effort at all and still his voice is just beautiful, that's what I love about this man.
He worked his whole life on vocaltechnique with some of the best educated operasingets of his era & didn’t give up listening & learning & he has been intelligent
Even though I’m just 22, I can feel the nostalgia from 1966 when this song was released. Thanks Joker
I SAW HIM IN CHICAGO 1981 AT NAVY PIER GREAT SHOW AND I AM STILL LISTENING 2024
The world needs more of this.
Sinatra is King
The Coolest ,most classy Singer of all times !!!!
2024 - still amazing 👏 Frank is a timeless legend 🙌 Thanks for uploading this 🎶🎵
I found out about Frank Sinatra while doing a black history project on Sammy Davis, Jr.
THE VOICE ❤
He can sing the newspaper and still sound better than most of the singers nowadays .
His sound has been really individual (like Martin, Crosby, Bennett) - astonishing & adorable & a gift ! This kind of singers are educated in music & full usedsingingtechniques & personality
Bublé needs a good singing teacher (his sound is only teenbodysound...)
There's really no point in trying to hide it! Frank sang like a God! His timbre remains inimitable and some of his hits can be wonderful in any era they can be listened to.
Frank's voice was just like another instrument in the orchestra, there's nothing to compare today, god bless you Mr Sinatra 🙏
67 AND JUST NOW LOVING THIS SONG WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG?
LIFE darlin. LIFE.
I love the way he is moving
Great performance. I never heard him sing "Oh yeah" at the end before, only "My, my!"
22 years old and all I can say is that frank sinatra music will forever give me chills and goosebumps cause of how marvelous of an artist he was
I'm 19 and love this music more than anything else now days god where are people like this now days? No auto tune just raw talent
Frank Sinatra is still in my opinion one of the best artists of all time
I’m going through a pretty tough time in my life and I want to cry whenever I hear this. Thank you Frank for the music ❤️
Hi friend, I hope you've made it through your troubles. I'm going through a hard time myself. But someone once told me "it doesn't matter how many times you fall, what matters is how many times you get back up."
Every movement, every semi-smile, everything he did in the way of just being himself, he exuded pure self-confidence. He was powerful.
As you age, you admire this man even more. Historic video. One of the most beautiful songs in history of music.
That organ is on fire great version live of this song!
Perceptive comment, succinctly expressed . . .
