You’re so beautiful Joanna. Don’t let unrealistic social media and beauty standards get in your way or make you feel lower than others. You are loved for who you are and no one really cares for what you pretend to be , We care about who you really are and your happiness. Stay beautiful.
I'm so happy to hear that and hope your sister made a full recovery!! This is exactly the sort of thing I love to see people doing based on my tutorials. Even thought crafting is a "trivial" activity, it can strengthen human bonds in very deep ways.
saeedahmad saleemi she took a really long time to prepare the tracing and then she traced it under a camera and she used the mode called time lapse(the tracing is quite long as well if u want if to be precise, at least for me...) ,
Hey Joana..it was good to learn about your life! But I loved your drawing even more! Can you make a video on drawing figures like this?! It would be really good
Hello Joanna (I think that’s how you spell it,) and thank you. I appreciate that you’ve shared your story with everybody and have had to confidence to do so. I think, like you, that it is nice to have a woman influencer who isn’t just interested in looks and money. I like people who don’t care about looks and money and who are kind in general. You’ve showed that life isn’t just easy peasy and that you have to work for it. For example, when you said you had had lupus and that it wasn’t easy to recover from and regain your confidence, you said that you kept thinking positive and happy and that helped. I hope to be like you one day and I’ve watched you since I was very young. Thank you Joanna!!
Am I the only one who have seen the little stripe on the Pikachu's tail? I remember him like this, but on the internet it says that he doesn't have one and it's just mandela effect... Did anyone else notice that? Like, how do you remember him... I am confused... (great video btw. And amazing drawing ability)
Wow.. 6 whole years of a headache ): I can find a similarity in that. I've had an unknown sickness for more than a year now, and i get constant dizziness. I went to different doctors and therapy. They told me that there was nothing wrong with me and could be just stress. I have a symptom of vertigo, but that's not a diagnosis. I have a busy life as well, including a job as a personal care aide/nurse! I am glad lupis (is that how you spell it?) doesn't affect your life! Or those headaches that you would have! It's hard on me at times, but been trying to endure it along with taking herbal tonics for now. I hope to find an answer one day! You're really strong-minded and i admire you and your arts/crafts!! 💕
Yes dealing with constant headaches is really tiring and hope you manage to find a way to improve yours! I definitely think that stress plays a role as well, so when your life circumstances change then headache patterns sometimes automatically go away. Since daily routines tend to shift ever 5 years or so (depending on new jobs, new homes, new relationship) there is always hope that your symptoms will improve on their own!
Raveka ENT was one of my doctors! They told me that everything was perfectly fine with my ears, nose and throat. I have done multiple tests to figure it out, but still nothing, sadly!
Maqaroon Thank you so much! I really do think stress can be one of the factors into my dizziness. It was probably all the built-up stress i had in college since i was an art major myself 😅 Art can be very time consuming and stressful at times, especially given major projects! I still believe i can find an answer one day. This video of you talking made me believe and hope more ☺️
Maqaroon you should put all the pages in order, put them in a white folder and add to it whenever something important happens in your life! Then it can be a book about your life and you can treasure it forever and always be adding to it! Btw the white folder is so you can title it and decorate it
A lot of people in the comments have been saying that she has been tracing but I don’t think that is the case because a lot of artists usually sketch first, and all of the drawings are different poses with the same art style/character. Also, if she traced, she would have given credit.
Marshmallooo Many artists are left handed, and being left handed doesn't automatically mean your art or writing is sloppy. It's kinda insulting to say things like that.
Hi Maqaroon, you may not read this comment, but I just wanna say thank you. Your channel has made such a big impact to my life. If it weren't for your videos, I would have not started crafting, which is one of my biggest hobbies. I found your channel when I was around 9 or 10, and I was amazed by the crafts that you made and it gave me a big inspiration. Now I am 14, and seeing your channel grows makes me proud and I would remember back in the days when I found your channel :') Art and crafting is my passion, and you have helped me found it. Once again, thank you! 💗💕
When I was 11 I had terrible headaches so I went to the hospital and after like 6 months of tests and scans they told me it was lupus but then after a year of more tests and scans they found out that it was microscopic polyangiitis (mpa) and when I was in the hospital I would watch your videos and say I'm going to make that when I get out and I did and it helped soo much so Thank you for making these videos and staying strong through the processes 💕
This must’ve taken a long time because I saw the updates on Instagram and it looked really hard but you managed to do it. Thanks for being one of the most thorough, detailed and unique youtubers on all of UA-cam. You really make my day Maqaroon when you upload a video. Thanks again.
Thank so you much! This video looks really speedy when you watch it but each of the drawings took hours to sketch and ink (there were about 30 altogether). A normal DIY only takes 2-3 hours to film so I could've made 5 videos in the time I spent doing this one 😂
Maqaroon thanks so much for hearting my comment! It’s my first time getting hearted by a really talented UA-camr. You really make my day! All the time. And i genuinely love your videos. Keep up the good work!
I hear about doctors who brush off things like this ALL THE TIME and it makes me really scared that I might one day have a disease and doctors will think nothing of it 😖
Yeah, it's particularly frustrating when you're young since objectively, 99% of people with the same symptom have something totally harmless. Doctors hate patients googling things, but in my case I researched lots of stuff online and then insisted on having certain tests done 😂.
this is why i love you and your videos. thank you, Joanna, for being such an inspiration to me and many others. i hope you’ll continue to do what makes you happy, and i’ll always be here supporting you 💕
This video was beautiful! It's really nice to learn about you and the problems you've faced on the road called life. Also it's nice to see someone who can draw better then me. 😉😁 EDIT: Thank you for noticing me Senpai. 😊
this video has made me admire you so much more!! I also have an autoimmune disease (Crohn's disease) and I'm 13. when I was diagnosed a year ago, I seriously thought my life was over lol. You're such an inspiration to me, the fact that you are thriving with a successful UA-cam channel gives me motivation to keep hustling! thanks so much
Hey, I know how you feel when you talked about how it felt unfair that you got sick at such a young age. Because a month ago I got Diagnosed with cancer. And it was a very rare type called a clear cell sarcoma. Right now I'm recovering from my precious surgery. were they moved my ovary up into my stomach area. Because they didn't want it to spread more because it had already spread to my lymph nodes and my lymph nodes Werw right next to my ovary. Then I start proton therapy on the 20th. My cancer is resistant to chemo so I'm not getting chemo. My tumor is 4.5 inches and it's in my hip.
I wish you best of luck with recovery! And I may be a random person on youtube but just know that life, as long as you have it is a gift and we all should cherish it. I wish I could give you a hug xx
No. Stop scrolling, swipe up and watch the video! Edit: I am such a hypocrite, although I did still watch the video (how could I not) after typing this.
Normally when I watch “draw my life” videos I don’t feel like the person is being honest. But with you I actually do feel you are. Especially the part where you were angry and the social media icons. I too am a graphic designer who speaks multiple languages, has a family that comes from another country. Love crafts and diy and found that crafts were my escape as I too am a massive nerd/geek. I also have a mental health disease (not terribly unlike your lupus’ health anxiety) that causes me to be introverted. I honestly feel like you’re a kindred spirit from another place. And I love watching your videos.
Also, you are who enlightened me to needle felting and now I’ve sought it out. I now use it to make things for my child and decorate mobiles. Onesies. And more :)
This video is so cute and gave me so much more insight into who you are and what your channels are truly about. You're one of my favorites diy channels because you actually focus on including everyone and propelling creativity. Thank you so much for what you do. Stay amazing!!
Girl, I get it. I have terrible headaches too and the docs and specialists gave told me is stress related too until I nearly went blind, blah blah blah. I'm glad you found a way to manage your condition and do the stuff you love! Keep living that good life, girl! Go you!
That's really inspiring. I too dislike social media. I don't even have facebook on my phone because I realized it was negatively impacting my health by making me compare myself to other people. More people should base their self worth not on their appearance, but on the things they do and create. Your channel is really cool, and I'm really happy that I subscribed. :)
Everything you said about social media is true. I’m extremely happy that you got to share this story of yours. You’ve really inspired me. An “anti-fashion influencer?” Amazing! Yet it’s so true! Instead of the focus being on you and your face, you focus on creativity instead of letting others feel bad about themselves or their body! Arghh! It’s so clever! I feel so blessed to be subscribed to someone who can spread awareness to this issue and give hope to so many others out there that BEAUTY DOESN’T MATTER! Thank you so much for sharing your story and your crafts with us, I am truly grateful.
Now that I have heard all of the symptoms of lupus and looked it up, it terrifies me. Everyday I have horrible headaches and sharp pains either in my head, stomach, or back. There is also rashes starting on my thighs and underarms. Any advice? I don’t know if it’s lupus and these things could mean nothing but it still scares me because the headaches are getting worse.
ItsOnlyBailey J oh my...I don’t know what to say. Those were my symptoms when I first was diagnosed. Stay strong 💪 If you do happen to get it, just know we’re all here beside you! Don’t be scared, it may be a big shock, but I know that you can make it. Talk about it to your doctor and stay positive. I wish you the best. I also have lupus and I’m happily living normally. Nothing that I have to do for it affects me but just know, you’ll be alright 💜
Asian Nation okay thank you, I told it to my dad and he said it’s nothing so I hope it doesn’t get worse, and if it does he’s gotta take me to the doctors just to be sure
Hello Maqroon, I first want to say thank you for sharing your story. It turns out you and I have more things in common than I previously thought. I subscribed to you because you are a wonderful artist and crafter and have inspired me immensely over the years. Also when you started to talk about your headaches and how they seemed to come out of nowhere, I thought to myself " this is similar to me, I hope she doesn't have lupus". Unfortunately I was right and I'm sorry you are going through it, but I glad to hear you are in remission. I am still waiting to be diagnosed but officially I have chronic headaches and Migraines, fibromyalgia, arthritis in most joints and chronic fatigue. Unofficially I have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, arthritis, and Migraines. Well the good part is you give me hope to one day live a somewhat normal pain free life.
My sister has an auto immune disease and she was in the hospital when she was 4 I still remember The doctors said she could have ice cream after and they didn’t have chocolate ice cream so she screamed at them😂😂
oh wow... actually seeing channels like yours, where you do not show your face, and only focus on creativity, gave me courage to start my own channel 3 years ago.l. I love so much crafting but I don't like speaking in front of the camera. So thank you for this and for sharing your story 😍
Wow! I can totally relate to your illness story! I too have an autoimmune disease. I was diagnosed when I was six, so it seemed pretty unfair that I had to get shots for almost any time I ate something. Just this late April/Early May, I was invited to a health conference in Rome! I am a pontifical hero, and I actually met a family where 2 of their girls also had Lupus! It was really cool to hear your story!
You have Lupus!? Holy moly, House was wrong! This time it was lupus!! I'm so glad you recovered so well! Also, very jelly of your art skills. You're so talented!!
It's always nice to find other youtubers with chronic illnesses and it's awesome people talk about recovery and spread positivity! I am autistic so I cannot do a lot of things my peers do - well, I also don't WANT to do a lot of things my peers do - but art is something I love doing. And kudos to you for wanting to make a channel all about diy-ing! Maybe we have run into each other before, I live in Vienna too :D
Born just like my brother. The umbilical cord got wrapped around his neck. Im glad he lived and is still alive. You draw really good btw. I feel like I’m living your childhood 😂
Yes I had to make a sketch for each one because I could definitely not do everything freehand 😂! That's another reason it took so long because planning & pre-drawing each page took up a good chunk of time
I’m usually pretty good at identifying accents due to my job, but I’ve never heard an accent quite like yours! It is beautiful and unique. Thanks for explaining where it came from in this video!
You are an amazing artist and a great insperation. As a younger veiwers, I found this to be very helpful. Whenever I am stressed I just think of what you said. Thank you so much for sharing your personal struggles. I hope the rest of your life is filled with happiness and love, in return for what you have giving us. Stay amazing. 😊💕💕💞💖
Maqaroon Thank you for noticing my comment I'm coming to Vienna as a jump spot to go to my home country. I'm staying for a few hours so I'm super excited to see some of the sights!!! Seeing as I talk a lot (sorry) YOU helped me get to the top 5 in a drawing competition in my school. My school is quite big including just over 600 people so I was incredibly surprised. I did the invisible boy and used your bubble effect on the boy. Thank you for all your Inspiration Joanne!!!! Support all the way
hey joanna just wanted to say how brave you were to talk about your lupus. i almost felt like crying because i too also have this illness and seeing you talk about it made me feel not so alone. i really look up to you and i have loved watching your videos while trying to create and draw myself. i was diagnosed around my junior year of high school - i was anemic, i had weight loss with my hair was falling out as well. often times i would flare up with an aching chest and a horrible butterfly rash. i am twenty now but doing better. thank you so much for sharing with us all that you have been through. much love and continue to do what you do best ❤️ ✨
Awesome video! Your such a kind hearted person and you deserve all the best in the world! You are the best crafting youtuber I've ever seen! 💖 (do you think you can make a video about tips and tricks on how to draw anime/manga? 😄)
I too was born with the umbilical cord around my neck (plus the doctor who delivered me broke my right collarbone). As I continued to watch your video and you mentioned that you suddenly started getting headaches that eventually resulted in a diagnosis of lupus, I began to wonder if I might have it. My mother was diagnosed with lupus in 1988 and she worried that my brother or I might also have it. I've had blood drawn for various other reasons, but not to see if I had lupus. It might just be a coincidence that I too suffer from bad headaches (which has been going on for years), but after watching your video I think I'll make an appointment with my doctor. Not really knowing exactly what is causing these headaches is quite frustrating. Thank you for sharing your life with your fans :)
I hope this doesn't sound mean, but it makes me happy that you said in the video that your happy to make slime with us and I'm really grateful because you said you were really happy and making slime with others is something some people wouldn't want to do. So ty Joanna ily keep up the good work!! ❤️
You’re so beautiful Joanna. Don’t let unrealistic social media and beauty standards get in your way or make you feel lower than others. You are loved for who you are and no one really cares for what you pretend to be , We care about who you really are and your happiness. Stay beautiful.
Everyone needs to tho
I remember I made the sock Pusheen cat plush for my sister when she got her leg tumor removed. Thank you for all the amazing content!!!!
I'm so happy to hear that and hope your sister made a full recovery!! This is exactly the sort of thing I love to see people doing based on my tutorials. Even thought crafting is a "trivial" activity, it can strengthen human bonds in very deep ways.
Aww thats so heart warming!!!!
That’s sweet
Maqaroon I always give away all the DIYs I make. It makes me happy.

saeedahmad saleemi she took a really long time to prepare the tracing and then she traced it under a camera and she used the mode called time lapse(the tracing is quite long as well if u want if to be precise, at least for me...) ,
I like how you used holo tape for this haha :)

Marshmallooo Many artists are left handed, and being left handed doesn't automatically mean your art or writing is sloppy. It's kinda insulting to say things like that.
Oh sorry.😢
Don't worry about it, now you know! :D
She also had pencil lines to guide her hand before she used the pen
yeah it was cute
Honestly, I’m glad to see your channel moving away from slime. It seems the old content is coming back. #oldmaqarooniscomingback
HeyIts Dubem no she is still making vids on it
Maqaroon is maqaroon, no matter what content she makes lol.
Seretx3 I said the *old* Maqaroon is coming back. Never said she left. I meant as in her old content left.
Yeah but her slime was pretty good I liked she was crafty and slime wasn’t really her thing
The next one on CLH is going to slime 😂! But I am moving away from it and there will be less slime stuff in future
6:50 I don’t know how I would like without Nando’s... you are a strong person.
I was getting distracted and tuned back in and just heard you say “now I am 4 years old” (ik that’s not funny I just wanted to say it)
+Kayley Kat
That really caught me off guard too lmao
I HEARD IT TOO
I thought it was funny
I think that is hilarious 🤣

Especially the part where you were angry and the social media icons.
I too am a graphic designer who speaks multiple languages, has a family that comes from another country. Love crafts and diy and found that crafts were my escape as I too am a massive nerd/geek.
I also have a mental health disease (not terribly unlike your lupus’ health anxiety) that causes me to be introverted.
I honestly feel like you’re a kindred spirit from another place. And I love watching your videos.
Also, you are who enlightened me to needle felting and now I’ve sought it out. I now use it to make things for my child and decorate mobiles. Onesies. And more :)
Oml your style of drawing is so kawaii😍😍😍
Yay thank you!!
You should be a artist your great artist
XoxSarahCupcakeXox She did draw it though
hearing the fact that you got so far as a graphic designer gives me a lot of hope for my own career
Love the tape 😍😍
Beutifull drawing thank you for sharing your amazing life with us and i”m glad you got help when you were sick🐨🐨🐨
This video is so cute and gave me so much more insight into who you are and what your channels are truly about. You're one of my favorites diy channels because you actually focus on including everyone and propelling creativity. Thank you so much for what you do. Stay amazing!!
12:56 my favorite part starts😄😙
Love you so Much Joanna.
So glad you did draw my life video.
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Girl, I get it. I have terrible headaches too and the docs and specialists gave told me is stress related too until I nearly went blind, blah blah blah. I'm glad you found a way to manage your condition and do the stuff you love! Keep living that good life, girl! Go you!
Finally!! I’ve been wanting this so long!
I also love your videos!♥
Yayy! So excited to learn about you!! 😃😃😃😃
Your drawings remind me of Pokémon.
Your kind of wholesomeness is literally the reason why I haven’t jumped off a building yet ( kind of an unsettling comment but I’m just very blunt )
Omg your drawings are AMAZING you should be a ARTist
Ive been watching you when you only have 1K subscriber
Wow
Sorry
Dont worry stay strong be happy no matter what good luck 🙂😊
I’m 14 and have POTS, which is a chronic health condition. It’s nice to hear someone else’s story, even though it’s a different condition
Wow
I’m number 33
But didn’t realize it till the end of the video
OH MY GOD!
MAQAROON SAW THIS 😮😮😮😮😮
Nice to know about you😄😄😄
Hello Maqroon, I first want to say thank you for sharing your story.
The things we have in common: Both left handed, chinese, move somewhere while being the age of 4, want to become and artist/designer
Maqaroon be getting all them “koalafications” 😂🐨
You know a video is good when it's so wholesome it hurts
She’s sooo good at drawing!
IzzyCake she would trace the drawings
But the would draw the tracings
I love that she has a style of manga drawings that is different
My sister has an auto immune disease and she was in the hospital when she was 4 I still remember The doctors said she could have ice cream after and they didn’t have chocolate ice cream so she screamed at them😂😂
oh wow... actually seeing channels like yours, where you do not show your face, and only focus on creativity, gave me courage to start my own channel 3 years ago.l. I love so much crafting but I don't like speaking in front of the camera. So thank you for this and for sharing your story 😍
Great video my mom was diagnosed with lupus to
I love these type of videos
Joanna thank you so much for sharing all of this with us! We all love you so so much, and kudos for giving us your experiences
Ooooh! Yessss!
Are you left handed?
Edit: just found she is left handed

Edit) OMG thank you ❤️ my Comment Maqaroon!! It means so much!
Born just like my brother. The umbilical cord got wrapped around his neck. Im glad he lived and is still alive.
You draw really good btw.
I feel like I’m living your childhood 😂
Did anyone notice that there was a
Light pencil outline before she went over it? But you are still AMAZING at drawing
Yes I had to make a sketch for each one because I could definitely not do everything freehand 😂! That's another reason it took so long because planning & pre-drawing each page took up a good chunk of time
My cousin has lupus and she’s almost always in pain but she’s some how still a happy person

Support all the way
As someone who has chronic illness I really appreciated this video xx thank you xxx xxx
Bonsoir il sont vraiment magnifique tous vos dessin.☺👍👍📋✏
Bonne soirée des gros bisous☺💖👍😘
great drawings!
hey joanna just wanted to say how brave you were to talk about your lupus. i almost felt like crying because i too also have this illness and seeing you talk about it made me feel not so alone. i really look up to you and i have loved watching your videos while trying to create and draw myself. i was diagnosed around my junior year of high school - i was anemic, i had weight loss with my hair was falling out as well. often times i would flare up with an aching chest and a horrible butterfly rash. i am twenty now but doing better. thank you so much for sharing with us all that you have been through. much love and continue to do what you do best ❤️ ✨
Awesome video! Your such a kind hearted person and you deserve all the best in the world! You are the best crafting youtuber I've ever seen! 💖 (do you think you can make a video about tips and tricks on how to draw anime/manga? 😄)
I thought this was a May yu’s vid 😅 but i luv uuuu ♥️♥️♥️
Camilart ! Haha, same, I thought that too. XD
I love the video I've been waiting patiently for your next upload lol 😂
Penguins Rock same 😂
Amazing❤❤❤😘😘
You should make all those pages a coloring book! I would totally buy it!
I remember like around two or three years ago I tried to attempt a clay tutorial you had done, it didn't go as well as planned, but hey I had fun!
