I found another 3 unique clays on Amazon Japan that I weren't familiar with. These were great value for money because two of the kits came with a lot of extra equipment. Even the cheapest one ($4 corn clay) comes with three colours so you get a lot of usage out of it without having to mix your shades with paint. I was pleasantly surprised by silicone clay which I had never heard of before but is similar to polymer clay. It's easier to work with than polymer clay and doesn't leave an oily residue on your skin. You can bake the clay to harden it and the final piece has the same texture as cured silicone moulding putty.

♥ Shopping Links ♥
These are not affiliate links as I don't have an account with Amazon Japan. As a very rough estimate of the price, I always take off the last two digits in yen to get the equivalent in dollars (eg 400yen = $4, although it's usually slightly less than that $3). The search function doesn't work well in Amazon Japan so my best tip for browsing for craft supplies is just to keep clicking on recommendations or related products. You'll be able to discover far more cool things than trying to type in keywords or brands.
SOAP CLAY
www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/prod...
- Comes with a lot of cute equipment and tools
- Very easy to make by adding 2.5ml of water
- Soft grainy texture similar to baking soda clay
- Easy to sculpt but can't be stretched too thin
CORN CLAY
www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B...
- Excellent consistency for detailed work and sticks easily
- Almost certainly a cold porcelain clay (cornstarch)
- Dries dense with cracks
SILICONE CLAY
www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/prod...
- A shiny putty-like clay that doesn't dry out
- Easily malleable in small amounts but hard to knead when thick
- Can be baked at 200C/400F for 10mins to harden
- Will stick permanently to other silicone items (eg baking sheet or the pink cake base supplied with the kit)
DISCLAIMER: Amazon products are affiliate links which means I receive a very small commission if you buy it through here. I do not receive commission for links to Etsy or any other online store, though of course I still link those if I purchased a certain item shown in my video that viewers might want!

For google translation it’s best to actually take a picture of what you need and scan it I find the translations more accurate that way
Y ea
Yea
Yeah
Yea
Yes! The 'live' translation doesn't work nearly as well as you might think!
The silicone cake base is an absolutely genius idea, I hope whoever thought of that got a raise!
I realised later that it's even smarter because the clay will fuse with the silicone so you have a perfectly solid piece!
@@maqaroon that's great, do you think the silicone clay could be used for clay cracking? Like just put a glaze on it and wait a day for the glaze to dry then crack it?
@@maqaroon cool toys 🧸
Homemade cold porcelain is INDESTRUCTABLE! I think it's fairly easy to work with as well; definitely easier than Daz clay, which I found way to soft. I made a yarn bowl with really intricate art nouveau-ish details and I'm telling you: that thing will be intact even after the world has been blown to smithereens by some cosmic event, aliens or human stupidity. I can't give you a good reason to why I'm promoting cold porcelain on this video, but I think I really wanted the world to know and now was the time. I'm normal.
I'm late for this message, but the world hasn't ended, so there's that. Homemade cold porcelain rocks. What recipe do you use?
When it translates to "take a good look at urself" 💀💀
I'm just imagining stopping in the middle of the craft, getting up, and going to the bathroom to look at yourself in the mirror. 🤣🤣
When you just want to do some crafts but end up in an existential crisis 😆
I remember about a rubber clay that you needed to boil after sculpting and turning into an eraser... I miss that so much XD it was really fun to play with
Sculpey polymer clay makes eraser clay that you bake like regular polymer clay (a bit lower temperature).
i remember watching those rrcherrypie videos or something where they’d make those and i thought it was the coolest thing
@@bonelessmice6828 RRCherryPie still makes video if everyone's still interested ;)
@@candlelitpeppermintcarniva8509 yeah
Okay but why are all of their packaging so adorable?? I'd hoard them😂💗
i knoww the corn one is so cute!!
Hoard*
I loove them! I threw out the soap clay box today and it hurt 😂
FR THO, i always cut out cute figures on packaging and stick them isn a special book dedicated for that specifically haha
@@sofialam9048 no way! I do the exact same thing!
Please decorate the cake with the silicone clay! I really want to know how well it sticks if it sticks that well to the baking paper!
Yay! These clay videos are so fun to watch and I really like the little creations you make
Imagine if u made your silicone clay into silicone molds- 😳
Edit: The cookie cutters on the silicone clay could probably be used for the kawaii gummy land kit (Popin Cookin)
Yes I also thought that clay would have a lot of potential for making molds! I really want to try it for a future video
AAAAA JOANNA TYSM 🌸
Oh, I see you're at that stage of motherhood where every small, cute cartoon rodent is a 'Pikachu'. I'm afraid it's terminal, Joanna. You've got the Momitis. Soon, you'll be collecting decor and knick-knacks of a specific cute animal to decorate your home with.
This is my first video and Ngl this was the type of calming video I needed rn. Thanks 🙏🏽
Oh wow! I used to watch your videos a lot in early highschool and I could've sword I had subscribed.. Glad I found you again!

@@maqaroon Yw and ty for replying!!🤍🤍
“Yes I’m fully aware it looks like a butt.” Hahaha!! This is the first video I watched when I got up this morning. You are a treasure! Love your videos.
Hahahaha I went viral for a peach squishy phone case that looked like a butt so it would be disingenuous to pretend otherwise 🤣
Your voice is so calming and cool and your just testing clay but yet you still make the best pieces
I love they’re voice! They are so calm.
I’m always amazed by the quality-prize ratio that Japanese craft kits have!
Yes I was really surprised! In the first video the products were okay-ish but the extra stuff in the kits from this one were awesome. I can't wait to use the tools for future DIYs!
their so adorable!
I remember years ago how I would binge watch you videos, I was 7-8 then, I'm 14 now
Everything is soo smooth and perfect ❤️

Amazing!
Peaches are my favourite fruit!!
I have your notification bell on yet I was going through your vids and there is a couple like this one, that I missed from just a couple months ago and I'm like omg how? Like I would never skip or not watch a new vid of yours if was in my notifications. So I hope YT algorithm isn't messing up or anything. 😖
That’s so cool 💜

*_babe wake up, new Amazon Japan clay review just dropped_*
I’d protect that apple with my life
😂
Corn clay! Mmmm!
Omg is that korn? *twist plays*
Do you have any tips to have a good supply of clay? Im new to using clay to make things so im hoping you can answer this question :D
My advice is to only buy clay when you need it because air-dry clay tends to dry up (even inside the package) over 6-12 months. I also recommend going for the larger packages because those tend to stay soft for longer, however once opened, you have to use up all the clay within a few weeks otherwise it will dry up as well.
@@maqaroon Thank you! :D
I've tried the corn clay. Very soft, but I thought you made made a soap clay with marshmallow puff?
Oh nice, I’m pretty early! Good video as always.
I want to try these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like the peach
I feel like you give firm handshakes. Just goin' off vibes
i love ur video!
I use to watch you as a kid and i found you Chanel agin! New subscriber!!
silicone clay sounds versatile, i wonder if it dries soft? ill watch and find out.
I recommend using silicone mats for baking the silicone clay (I'm not sure which one is the silicone one so Im talking about the apple one)
They are very non stick so it really really easy to use
The kit came with one she just didn't use it for some reason
What is the translate app name?
That you used in this video?
When you use google translate instant feature, the translation might come out nonsense/inaccurate especially when you translate japanese. If you click on scan (in the middle next to instant) and take picture of the text you want to translate, the translation is more accurate.
OMG THE SOAP CLAY IS A SOAP WHEN DRIED
the designer of the mask printing machine thingy in an episode of "day in the life of" series and it was "day in the life of a japanese toy maker"
And now I have an almost uncontrollable urge to buy a babybelle cheese and try to smoosh it together
Could you please do a video where you mix all the rare clays into slime? I’m interested in seeing how they would work in slime!
OMG I REMEMBER YOUUUU I USED TO WATCH U WHEN I WAS 10 OMG HIII ITS BEEN 5 YEARS 😭
Yay welcome back!
Does anyone else wait to hear her say bye in a cute way and try to copy it at the end of every video or is this just me?
AHHHH I USED TO WATCH U AGES AGO BUT I LOST UR ACC IVE FOUND IT AGAIN AT LAST AYYAYYAYYAYYA
And yes I’m fully aware this looks like a BUTT 😂I started laughing so hard awsome videos 😊
"Take a good look at yourself🥺"
can u do sticky tack
The corn clay dried with the "cracks" in it, they're your nail marks
Wow
They're Cute

7:39 just watch it
The Google Translate app works better if you snap the image first, and then run it trough the translator instead of using live view.
I’m ver curious about the face mask kit
I like UR vids

4:35 kinda looks like play doh
They have tsum tsum eraser kit.
Do another one little amazing

Oh wow this was made 8 hours ago normally I watch videos from like 3 years ago

Pink but peach!
The silicone need bakes , not to dry
WHILE I WAS WATCHING I THOUGHT YOU SAID STUPI BOWL I WAS DYING OF LAUGHTER
They look like candy. Don't give Tide ideas.
Tide Pods already look like mints.
I wonder if Indian clay existed
The second clay looks similar to play doh. Is that the case?
The yellow silicone clay looks like cheese
Japanese people have been wearing masks for lots of reasons long before the pandemic, so I'm not sure why one would assume it's because of that they have mask customization kits.
im sorry but i thought the thumbnail was soap slay😭😭
i was like third person here!
btw i love your vidios!😍😍
if you're doing japanese clays, why haven't you included bon clay?
Poor peach got decapitated
Buttons Buttons Buttons Buttons
If you ever need accurate translations for more confusing japanese instructions, I can translate them haha xD
I think the statement that japan incorporated the pandemic into their creative things is kind of an ignorant assumption since being sick in Japanese culture has already been a certain way for a long time.
Yes true, wearing masks was widespread in all part of Asia before the pandemic (I'm Chinese) but I never saw those mask printing machines before. You could always get cute face masks for kids before 2020 but there's a difference between just buying them vs DIY kits for customising your own. I also found a kit for a hand-sanitising slime and I'm fairly certain those products were influenced by the pandemic.
