My 7950x3d, teamgroup 6000 cl30, dual channel, high bandwidth enabled, eco mode on, -20 pbo curve hashing 20khs at 125w at the wall. I guess silicon matters.

The 7950x can be tuned exactly the same as the 7950x3D, just by enabling Eco mode and setting the PBO2 curve optimizer.
There is also another interesting BIOS/EFI setting: the PPT (package power). This one limits the maximum power that the CPU draws. The Eco modes (65 W and 105 W) are just this setting with hardcoded specific values for the maximum power.
By tuning the PPT value, you can tweak the CPU to be very power efficiency (>170 Hashes/W for a 7950x) or if you have cheap electricity, to maximize the hash rate at the cost of power efficiency.
With the current prices of CPUs here in Europe, makes more sense getting the 7950x over the 7950x3D. The hash rate difference is just too small (5%) to compensate the extra cost of the 7950x3D.

I have a question, when you first booted up your 7950x rig did you get that notice about th fTMP? I just finished my build and i must have hit yes and now it wont boot into Hiveos because its encrypted or something?

You can drop ddr5 voltage after lower max rates oc 200mhz no lower then 5600mhz . 1.16v instead of 1.35v if can't then 1.22 on 4 diff brands with hynix and micron 7950 auto 62c temp with 5-6 heatpipe air 128-133w 20200

@@zf8496You might need to update your bios, I had to. In my MSI bios I turned on the advanced overclocking and pbo and set a negative curve of 25, have a look for whatever motherboard you have + pbo curve optimizer. I had set the curve too aggressively previously before and this vid was the kick in the seat to giver another go.

Dear Rabid I think that spend more than $1k in this platform its too expensive. This week I bought x2 3900X in second hand market per $120 each one, x2 $25 16GB Ram 3200 and x2 MSI X470 for $50 each one.. total around $400 per x2 platform that produce 25Khs in Randomx and spend 220Watts. Its worth it buy 7950X?

How are you getting temps to show up in Hive os? I am using the xmrig-new and not seeing temps per core in HiveOS

I haven’t messed with cpu clocks in awhile I’ve been dreading it with all the solar install i got going on you covered a lot minus the difference in motherboards like you said enabling and disabling like 4g crypto mining setting line load and on mine using Memory Try It instead of XMP on mine gives more hash because it lets you fine tune it in steps in mhz and cl like 1733mhz cl 14-14-14-36

I'd buy 7900x. Because it's unlocked. You can lower and higher the frequency and learn more.

The same as 7900x. Set the frequency 4.7 and voltage. 0.95. The hashrate is around 17k with 6000 cl 30 ram.

7950x3d more versatile, it can do web browsing/light gaming with rx/0 hash 32threads only -500h/s
You can set per-core curve optimizer like core0-7(ccd0 3d v-cache)= -20 core8-15(ccd1)= -30
On my 7950x, similar settings, i get 20.14kh/s @155w

Important to note if anyone cheaps out with a bronze power supply they'll never get these efficiencies. Bronze supply can waste up to 30 watts more for the same performance so everyone don't be cheap on the PSU then complain you're not getting these efficiencies :) No CPU setting is going to save you from yourself :)
so from cpu mining with parts back in the days you would spend like $400 for everything to now spending close to 1K which is like buying a GPU does that make sense. break down the ROI on that setup and it wouldnt make sense due to the risk

@@RabidMining both are not worth it just saw a video break down on red panda mining if you would just simply invest 1400 on these coins you would make way more money without having to worry about your light bill or rid turning off and all that work. glad he was honest and stated it is best to just invest in coin instead of mining at this point.
MSI PRO B650M-A has the best memory tweaks, it gives about 600 hash more than Gigabyte's. I've ordered in the cheaper MSI B560M-P to see if it can run the same mem tweaks.
For 7950X I use: PPT 105, curve -25 for 21900h @ 166w on Gigabyte DS3H.
For 7950X3D I use: PPT 110, curve -25 for 22800h @ 165w on MSI B650M-A.
Are you tweaking mem manually or do you just use some presets?
@@hardcoredefender1831 the MSI boards have pre-configured mem timing presets for popular kits, eg. corsair 6000 CL30. So you can stick kits in there to see the tight timings then manually copy them to other boards, with great results.
