Super cool, Blender porn chasing the 'Sub D' holy grail perfection, well more like showing us all what it looks like, wouldn't expect anything less from mx2, thanks for sharing.
couple words to explain your two addons BC+HO - is change modeling side work in industry(no kidding) as i think and with time past many softwares changed their tool literally "because of yours" two addons BC and HO - i watched on many apps "thru time" many years - because in past used all them - c4d, maya, max,zbrush... now plasticity is smazing implementation of boxcutter+hardops in NURBS world and i for exaple just wonderind - what you m-xeon think "about this all"?
It is wonderful to have both technical sense and patience! I found some things too fast to figure out. The part where you knife with a 6:12 circle where the vertices of the outer circle and inner circle are connected after you taper with the T key.
boxcutter project view cutting. I think project works but 3d did not with that maneuver. I started off the surface then jumped off the dot to make the circle giving me the project advantage.
@@masterxeon1001 I didn't expect a reply right away! I am amazed! Indeed, I did exactly what you said and the vertices were tied exactly as you said! Thank you I've been struggling with this for about 3 days, but I'm glad I attempted your comment.
This video was orgasmic, for sure. Everything from equidistant edges, to defining the main chamfer of the jug first, to terminating into circles... my favourite stuff to watch in addition to Frank Polygon's stuff on the Polycount forums. 👍
Accurate result! A couple of tricks with background images - it has an option to be shown only in ortho view (helps to recognise the shape during working with complex backgrounds), also transparency + x-ray applied to background image allow to avoid using transparent shader (I tried to show such a technique in the begining of my latest video about fireplace)
like the function background images? with the panel? Seemed more involved to configure and adjust compared to image empties. I'll have to give it a try sometime.
I've been wanting to see examples of HOPS being used for real-world objects. Your fantasy creations were always cool, but they didn't showcase the capabilities of HOPS for real-world applications. Thank you!
Not sure the jug has enough geo to keep the 'stars' at the corners of the circular inset from pulling the edge loops outward--you'll have some pretty odd specular shapes at those points
@@masterxeon1001 My dream is to make a U-boat type 7c submarine, I tried a bit, but I fell, I think I'm doing something wrong at the beginning, could you give me some advice at the beginning, please.
great jug and great music, very cool to see you out of all people appreciate city night shadows, love that song!
those songs were selected from the playlist "75 most played" meaning I have listened to it way too much.
Interesting shape - nice job :)
its a deceptive jug

How do you so effortlessly clean up the topology of the object as you go? Is that functionality part of hOps/Boxcutter? 🤔
a whole playlist is dedicated to the topic!

you could also start with the circle and expand out from there
you outta give it a whirl! Im always curious in other approach methods.
A voiceover would've been great benchoda
I couldn't find the Mira Curve Setup, is it a tool from Boxcutter/HardOps or Machine Tool?

as someone who is just starting in 3d these are soooo helpful. Thank you for sharing
Glad you like them!
What I wouldn't give for a lecture from you!!! Your skill in hard surface puts my teachers to shame haha
pretty cool but uh.. quite a lengthy way to go about making this if i'm being honest
What's a quicker way?
give it a try!
I see you are a trackballer too!
And this fingers dance! :D
every now and then i grab it haha. Im more of a spacemouser than a trackballer but i could see them both in rotation.

its a struggle, those redirects have to connect to something. It'll have to be researched.
