- When making realistic Warhammer 40k ruins you might as well base them on real-life ruins.
Horsburgh Castle is a land mark that has stood for nearly 500 years, its even got its own tune played on the bagpipes.
Now it is time to drag Horsburgh Castle into the world of Warhammer 40k. These scratch build 40k ruins are made from xps foam & craft board, with a handful of 3d printed parts for those extra details. They have been made to be modular terrain both flat on your tabletop & vertically.

Damn I wouldn't have the patience to do all the single stones. Greate work.
After a while it becomes like meditation. I've done other projects using thousands of them & the results are very satisfying.
@@WulvenKraft I have to agree that the final results are much better then just cutting into a static wall or press the dents in.
Still a lot of work.

Fantastic video! History in it too! Hooked.
Cheers! I definitely enjoy putting this video together, I will be doing more videos like this in the future.
I'm a big fan of single-brick-wall-builds, this one looks pretty decent. your solution for the corners is quiet cunning. thank you, sir.
Cheers! I just build it like a proper building haha
I really enjoy the format of your videos: short, entertaining and creative!
Thank you!
Great video all around! Motivating to do it for myself. I think you really address the beginner community with this. Thank you very much.
Everything I do is beginner, I'm still one myself. But I have a background in 3D design so I guess I have a small advantage 🤣
I love the concept of Warhammerifying some actual ruins for tabletop gaming. It looks like the original layout of those ruins and fits in perfectly with the 40k setting with the extra touches of metal in the structure and the toxic waste barrels. Great job!
Thank you!! Definitely something I want to explore again, not far from me is a ruined Abbey.
enjoyed this!
Cheers Bill! I've got my eyes on a very old Abbey for another video like this.
I enjoyed watching the build and like what you did with the cardstock as an in between layer. I am going to copy that! Liked and subscribed. Cheers
Thank you Sir!
Ideal hideout for my Gloomspite Gitz & Ironjawz Orruks
Glad to help!
Wow! Love this building. The style and color of the bricks are awesome! Thanks to share.
Thank you my friend!
Nice ruins!!
Thank you!
Just got into crafting terrain for 40k, your videos are incredible. Love your entertaining charisma as well cheers mate
That's the first time I have been accused of being charismatic 🤣. Cheers for watching, it means a lot!
Don't forget to check some of my other videos with some free templates!
Man, your videos are true work of art !
Oh and your terrain as well by the way 😄
Thank you! That means a lot! I put everything I have into both & I'm constantly looking to make them both better!
Brilliant job as always buddy! That one brick at a time seamed tedious but well worth the affect 👍👍👍
Cheers!
Hahaha that was the bit I enjoyed the most. I just put my headphones on & zoned out, most relaxing part of the build. Plus I don't think you can really replicate the uneven surface you get doing it that way, definitely worth it.
@@WulvenKraft I’ll take your word for it 😅 until I give it a go at some point down the line 😉
@@RIGMiniatures Hahahaha I like to think of tasks like that as 'active meditation'. That said I completely understand why some don't like building in that way.
Brilliant project! Where do you get your foam from?
The foam in this video was from Army Painter. They have another company name which escapes me at the moment but they sell kits with tools, foam & paints.
It's called GameMaster
👏👏👏
Thank you!
I literally whispered "Why are you ASMRing this?" right before you called us filthy. 🤣
🤣 I was trying to learn more about sound design when editing this video & really liked the noise removing the paper made 🤣
