Great video! My TaylorMade M5 fairway has been displaced by none other than a Ping G15 3W for this season. Its just so much more forgiving and has a really traditional look at address. Ping's soft regular shaft is a beauty for those of us who are swinging the club below 80mph.
Here in the US all the Tour Edge Exotics stuff seems to go for super cheap second hand, especially fairway woods. They are so underrated, and come with some super high end shafts (graphite design, etc.)
3 weeks ago I got a Tour Edge Exotics EX10 Beta 4 wood 16.5 with a Tour AD shaft local for 30 bucks. I couldn't drive over fast enough and give the money over quick enough. I have played 4 rounds with it and can't hit a poor shot with it(knock in wood). I have had lots of TEE clubs in the past and stupid me sold them all. The set of E8 hybrids I wish I had back...smh
@@kennethmckinney2532 I feel like tour edge exotics fairways can almost replace my driver off the tee, accuracy is better, and distance is about the same... My clubhead speed is actually faster with my 3 wood, 115, vs my 111 average with driver on trackman.
@@That1Carson I could see that with the right head and shaft. If I had the 13 degree head with the Tour AD at 44 inches I could run it out past my driver...
@@kennethmckinney2532 I'm using the Cbx T3 15* with a tour AD UB 6TX shaft. It's only longer than my driver because the launch conditions are always way better. Still grinding out the driver.
I got a great Adams 7wood- £25 from golf bidder to replace one that had broken. It’s brill. It’s a ladles flexible shaft which is great for a senior shorty!
Yeah totally agree. ping g20 5 wood. £40 a couple of years ago. Great club to sit under the g400 max driver. Draw, fade, high and low. Got all the shots. Just don't know what order they're coming in.
Great vlog Simon, I have played Adams A3 irons and hybrids for years and love them them!! The Super S was a classic fairway, good to see it get a mention. Great value esp for mid handicapper
I have had r9 3 wood since my first set of clubs. I think I paid 40 bucks for it 10 years ago. I can't take it out of the bag. I hit my friends' 3 woods and nothing is the same. It's my favorite club. The sound when you pure one is the best ever, honestly.
Bought an Adams Idea Super 9031 20° hybrid literally a week ago for USD$40 to fit between my Titleist AP2 712 4 iron and my Nike T60 3 wood. Stiff shaft, great quality grip, shaft, head, everything. Wondering if I need anything between that and my 3 wood....?
I'm literally OBSESSED with Adams stuff! I have a set of CB1's, CB2's, Xtd Tour's, V3 Hybrids, a TightLies Titanium 3+ Wood, and a 19* Super Hybrid (5 wood). I have the CB1's in the bag right now along with the 3 Wood and hybrid.
I'm all in on Adams too! I'm glad and astonished at how they haven't caught on. I'll happily pay the low market prices for their stuff that is such quality
I found a cobra amp cell 5-7 wood very recently and I love it. The adjustability of the loft is brilliant and makes it very versatile. Good suggestion and I support this message :)
Cobra Amp Cell is a good shout, I bought the FlyZ-XL (3 and 5 woods) from the following year. The XL is the offset drawing club, which is a real boon for slow swinging beginners with a slice. As a high 20s handicapper I was startled to find I could nail these fairway woods off the deck. And they look very clean and stylish with a gloss black crown, and give loads of confidence when I'm stood over them, with their drawn out elongated shape. I enjoy them so much that I went matchy-matchy with the driver and hybrids too. FlyZ XL woods and hybrids are hugely under-rated for slicing / big-fading beginners who want a clean easy launch. Try them, you might be pleasantly surprised! Good value too.
Simon, I have been looking for a change in fairway wood, and when I saw this vid thought here we go some ideas......I will now be keeping my Adams Speedline F11 3 wood...first club I bought to get me restarted in golf after 7 years👍 love the content btw
Managed to get my hands on a Callaway Mavrik 3 wood. Tiny chip on the top of it..... Besides that practically brand new. Paid £70 for it. First go with it tomorrow..... Great video as always Simon....
i paid 25$ for my ping g15 5 wood. i loved that thing, it was my go to club to have a ball in play and i used it till the day the shaft broke in the head. still miss it
Thanks for the Honesty, not much out there these days lol, throwing a request your way, at what piont in the golf world our HC ,skill level do you invest in the big names for tech, looks, value, or whatever can be put in the bag?? what skill level would you consider paying the money?? Honesty man, I'm a realist I like the truth! Thanks again for getting your message out there!
No doubt, love finding great used clubs. A couple years ago I found a ping g15 3 wood for about $70 USD and I don’t know if I will ever replace it. Such a go to club now especially if the driver is off that day. Keep up the great work on the videos my man!
Hi Simon. Why not try tour edge exitics, sub 70, or other less known American or other non big brand names. Some great clubs n 2nd hand prices are very attractive as not many heard of them.
Loved the list, especially when you mentioned the Burner Fairway woods. I use a SIM2 MAX Driver and OS irons, but Ive kept my burner 2.0 3w and 5w. Put Jumbo grips on them, and they feel great and still get plenty of distance.
Cleveland FL3W was one of the easiest to hit, and longest 3 woods I have ever had. I never liked the looks of the brown head with the gold shaft, but it was 250 down the middle almost every time. They should be in that same price bracket now.
I got Titleist 915 3 wood with a X flex shaft about 4 weeks for £50 and I love it hitting it nice plus today for the first time in years I had a round of 90 on my local course
I have a TM RBZ 5 and 7 wood, if you can see past the white heads they are awesome clubs, as in your video a week or so ago the 7 wood is a valuable asset to any golf bag.
I got a G20 for £45 with delivery and a g5 5 wood for £30, I need to double check the shaft though as I think I need stiff, didn't check when I brought them
No mention of Benross this time Simon. Is that because they've dropped in the standard or quality of their equipment, or is it just that there are plenty other choices?
Mizuno woods are excellent, particularly the non adjustable. I picked up an f60 4 wood for £18 and a jpx800 5 wood for £25 both including postage. They both travel about the same distance as my ping g410 5 wood and are forgiving. Benross delta are below £50, much newer and forgiving.
Hey man I've currently got a callaway big bertha steel head 3 3 wood, I've seen a mizuno jpx800 3 wood in relatively good condition for £25. Is it worth upgrading to this club or should I spend more and go newer ?

The Titleist 915’s were not good heads IMO, not very forgiving. The Titleist 913’s were much better, but the smaller heads might be intimidating to the newer player. Cheers

Thanks for watching guys! Any noticeable mentions that I may have forgotten comment below!
Mentioned Adams in previous post, but the Wilson Fybrid was also a nice fairway! Bought the 5 wood for £10 + postage on eBay, just can't go wrong

My first set of clubs was 2nd had Adams bought for £100 fantastic clubs . I've got a 915 titleist 3 wood in the bag now what a club !
Picked up a great condition Ping G400 3 wood last week for 130cad (about 75gbp). I felt like a criminal on the drive home 😈 The deals are out there!!
My original Taylormade VSteel 5W is still in my bag. It’s now got an Atmos shaft in it. Still works after all this time! ❤

Amp cell 3 wood has been in my bag since I’ve had a 3 wood. It’s my go to off the tee in the summer cranked down to 14-14.5. Love it.
Nice timing Simon. Just bought a Ping G15 #4 fairway wood replacing a 2020 Mizuno 3 wood.
Managed to get my hands on a Callaway Mavrik 3 wood. Tiny chip on the top of it..... Besides that practically brand new. Paid £70 for it. First go with it tomorrow..... Great video as always Simon....

Bought the m2 fairway 5 wood pre covid when prices were sensible. £65
A mainstay in my bag 👍
I got a Jet speed fairway wood years ago it was dirt cheap and as good as anything ive used

Bought an Adam's Fast 10 draw 15 degree for $10. Carried it for 6 years til my step son borrowed it. Best club I ever hit.

Great video 👍Benross HTX fairway woods are superb for the money, easy pick them up for £30-£40
Yes Simon, exactly what I'm looking to buy next!
I bought a TaylorMade RBZ series 2 awesome £42 second hand, basically brand new
I got a Ping G25 three wood with an upgraded Pro Force V2 shaft $60 in good condition
Cleveland FL3W was one of the easiest to hit, and longest 3 woods I have ever had. I never liked the looks of the brown head with the gold shaft, but it was 250 down the middle almost every time. They should be in that same price bracket now.
I agree love mine 3wood 17degrees long and straight

I got Titleist 915 3 wood with a X flex shaft about 4 weeks for £50 and I love it hitting it nice plus today for the first time in years I had a round of 90 on my local course
I got a Mizuno JPX 825 5-wood for £40 and it's a dream to hit, so forgiving. I've got so much confidence from it and my handicap has dropped by 20
So I am currently building my bag from your recommendations , can I ask would there be any different options for when I build a bag for my wife?

Simon, noticed the M2 3W is dropping to near £60 on ebay. how would you rate them?
What do you say about the Tour Issue Taylormade Burner Supersteel #3 with Bubble shaft for £29.95? Is it still a good club 2022?
2014 Big Bertha is my fav club , I have it in the 5 wood and am looking for it in 3 wood but lost my bid and do not want to pay more than 60 in total.
Just scored a Titleist TS3 3 wood for $120 usd. It's like new with a tensei shaft

What brand is the cap 🧢 Simon ?
Most average golfers would be well served with Adams or Ping. Nice video.

I got a g400 3 wood for 70 quid not long ago wasn't after a 3wood because I hit my 5 wood better but can't refuse a bargain
Great buy that mate 💪
Hi Simon I have a 07 burner 3 fairway wood and wouldn't give it up for anything.
Can we get a 2024 one?
Any Sonartec fairway if you can find one.
Mate. You missed the RBZ.. So fast off the face and great value IMO
Sadly don’t think you will get one for around £50 of eBay in good condition! Great wood though
@@SASGolf maybe not £50, but got myself a 5 Wood in perfect nik, for £70 a couple of months back.. highly recommend 👌

Cobra bio cell, easiest ever to get in the air, its bio cell+ brother not as easy but very long!
Adams tried to sue Taylormade over copying their technology, so Taylormade bought Adams and that was the end of that.
Ben Ross HTX well under £50 very long and forgiving
the Ping i20 is terrible for reselling, can't get rid of it. It's a fine club which makes it odd
The Titleist 915’s were not good heads IMO, not very forgiving. The Titleist 913’s were much better, but the smaller heads might be intimidating to the newer player. Cheers
Wouldn't dismiss an rbz fairway.
Tour Edge Exotics...

Sub £50???
Wilson Staff Fybrids are great with the std Proforce V2 shaft
Those 915 are going for $150 in the 🇺🇸
I think he also spent 50 on a bag
