Kind of surprised the BRNR mini driver didn’t make the list. I have the Original One mini driver and I’m amazed at the performance. At 13.5 degrees it’s definitely more forgiving and I hit it around 240-250, so any par 4 under 375 I’m using it off the tee.
I am a 15 handicap and we rented a set of Ping G425 one day to test them out. From the driver to 5wood we were blown away by how easy to hit and forgiving the woods were. I put a ball 6foot from 185 with the 5 wood. Drives were long and straight and the miss hits were not too bad. I know the G430 are out but I am not rich so I just traded my RadSpeed in for a G430 10.5 driver. 3 wood and 5 wood will follow soon.
Thanks James...how about the Callaway Apex UW as a fairway finder? The 17 degree distance is between and 3 wood and a 5 wood? It's a game changer for those of us whose miss is a pull hook left.
Right there with you. Just added the 21-degree UW to the bag after playing the 17 for a while. Replaced the Ping G425s, which seemed to point left to me.
Have the 430 irons and they are awesome! Came from the ping G’s. Use a G400 driver and 3 wood and love them. Will be looking to upgrade next spring those and will look at everything but I bet I will be putting the G430 driver and 3 wood in the bag.
Hey James great review, what about the Takomo ignis??? It's the first fairway that I found the replace my 10 year old 3 wood. I have the 5 wood turn down 1 deg 👍
ive taken my 3 out the end of this year mainly because i only need it twice a round on my own course, as you do such a good job trying to showcase golf dosent need to be expensive what should i do replace it, or a new wedge, managed to replace my 56 last season and wonder if my plan is right to replace my 52 next its about doing it in the right order for me although this isnt taking into consideration leaving driver in the bag if its playing up also would a hybrid be better than a 3 wood lol to many decision’s
Just bought a brand-new Aerojet driver. Upgrading from a Radspeed XB. I’ll never understand getting caught up in the name of a golf club. I’m looking forward to gaming it. 🏌️♂️⛳️
Great video. I'm a high handicapper (28) turning 60 soon and only been playing 2 years. I have Ping G425 3 and 7 wood. I struggle a bit with the 3 wood of the fairway. But I also have the Eleven 7 hybrid ( I carry about 115 to 125 meters -- which you tested a couple of months ago). I was wondering how an Eleven 3 or 4 hybrid would compare to my Ping G425 - 7 wood (which I only carry 140 to 150 meters). And I have Ping 4 Hybrid G430 (which I only carry 125 to 135 meters) with which I struggle a bit with. Would a 3 or 4 hybrid of Eleven be easier, straighter? What was your experience ( or your dads? is he still using the Eleven-set)?
Somewhat off topic … but what an interesting golf hole. What course/where? So were targeting that tree each time as an easy to see target? or that is proper for playing that hole?
You mentioned in another video a while back that you were going to do a video on using a higher lofted driver as a fairway finding 2W, so I was expecting to see you mention that in this video... still waiting. I have taken a chance on black Friday and purchased a 12 degree driver online; my plan is to have it cut down a bit to see if a higher lofted shorter driver will be more forgiving than a low-lofted fairway.
This video is about new releases so Wilson Dynapower merits consideration. These brass have really good prior iterations too such as Cobra LTD Max and Taylormade Sim 2 Max.
Another great video james il ask again lol what's the model of your bag I'm thinking of doing away with my trolley and carrying and your bag looks good
You know, I think it’s funny. That Ping totally avoided the 420 make because of marijuana and stoners/potheads but the ping 425 and 430 are absolutely amazing. It’s is so funny tho but if they would’ve done a 420 model, it would have outsold everybody and I truly believe that just because of how the United States has accepted the 420 marijuana thing
Last season I had Callaway rogue ST Max 3 wood it was ultra forgiving but it was too draw biased. Every shot went left off the tee or from the fairway. For me TSR3 is the best performing/looking/feeling fairway metal. It’s not in this forgiving category, but I don’t need that.
Paradym driver looked dated before it left the shop, imo… glad the 2024 clubs we have seen are more traditional coloured, I like the grey black and white with the odd splash of colour.
If you had to give it a % how much less forgiveness do you get from a Ping LST over the Max. I am a good ball striker, but I do generate a lot of spin with the driver. Yet I still want something forgiving.
I realized you were giving alternative club to your driver. I wish you would've also hit some balls from the turf To see if this will change the order?
My wife just ordered the Ping G430 Max for my 76th birthday and can't wait to play it!

Im a taylormade stealth nut but i think the ping is a good winner 🏆 😊well done James 👏
I've got the Ping G430 max in my bag and love it!

Disappointed you dumped the bargain cobra :(, I’ll give her up when the head flies off. Ping g430 line is insane tho

All depends on the shaft….. It’s a hook machine for me
It’s definitely designed to be more neutral than a traditional hybrid. I game the 17 and 21 degree UW’s and love them!
Right there with you. Just added the 21-degree UW to the bag after playing the 17 for a while. Replaced the Ping G425s, which seemed to point left to me.
Just bought a taylor made brnr mini driver to replace my 3 wood , a bit longer and more confidence in the larger head to find the short stuff
I'm horrific off the tee but just purchased a g430 5 wood and turned it down irs changed my tee shots hugely
Picked up a G425 three wood demo last year. One of the most consistent clubs I’ve ever hit.
Gaming paradym 3 and 5 wood. They’re a joy to hit and won’t be leaving my bag for awhile. Wish the 5 was adjustable.

I game a LTDX Cobra 5, P G430 9 but the best of the setup is the TM Brnr Mini.
Just bought a brand-new Aerojet driver. Upgrading from a Radspeed XB. I’ll never understand getting caught up in the name of a golf club. I’m looking forward to gaming it. 🏌️♂️⛳️

Might be in the market for a new wood, perfect timing mate
I have a near bag full of Ping clubs. G425 Max driver.
I have a G425 9 wood and love it.
Somewhat off topic … but what an interesting golf hole. What course/where? So were targeting that tree each time as an easy to see target? or that is proper for playing that hole?

Great information, but what is that golf bag? Looks really different. 😊
Great choices James

Love my tsr2. Driver and 3 wood
James, I was wondering what kind of stand bag you are using?
Another great video james il ask again lol what's the model of your bag I'm thinking of doing away with my trolley and carrying and your bag looks good
I think Ogio 8 way divider

As a pothead and a golfer ….. I would’ve had every ping g420 club that existed …
Would it have been in a green color scheme? 😂

James can you stick the weigjt back in the stealth pls 👌👌
Try the Callaway Heaven Wood. that's a 7 wood with 3 wood length shaft no better fairway finder.
👌👌👌👌
I'd buy the g430 in a 7 wood ....weapon
Leeeeees gooooo
I realized you were giving alternative club to your driver. I wish you would've also hit some balls from the turf To see if this will change the order?
Zx fairway was nice for me.
I loved my SIM 2 Max 3 wood but now my paradym X feels great off tee, practically cheating!
No better driver than a 430 max, fact!!!!
G430 LST...
SIM 2 > stealth line
The paradym is literally the exact same club as the Rogue series!!! Only difference is a paint job…. Literally they are the EXACT SAME!!!!
Does that bother you Steve?
The TSR2 head is not titanium 🙈
All steel head with a titanium face… are you ok?
Ok so 'fairway finder' isn't a driver then. That's new...
That’s the beauty about an opinion isn’t it
Boom James… you just hit that down the middle! 😂
