Sonic 2 Master System Speedrun in

It's finally time for a return to one of my homeliest games.
My previous time (10:15) stood as the record here for over 10 years - I believe it is the only run of mine in any game that has achieved the decade long standing record. But earlier this year it was finally taken down. And so, I return.
This game is supremely relaxing and fun for me to run. Unlike most sonic games, it's quite an easy game to play 'well' in general play compared to a lot of others, which means that doing stages at their optimal time, or at least very close, is often not overly difficult. And so as such, most times for each stage end up being nearly identical throughout the run, permitting that you hit the precise jumps and don't make very bad errors.
The game has one flaw as a speedrun however, and it's a pretty big one. It's that biggest difference between a good run and an amazing run, is the luck of the final boss.
To give you an idea, execution wise in this run, I made a single error that cost over half a second (I messed up life jump in GH1), with all other errors being small that add up over time to a small handful of seconds. Luck wise however there are two bosses that are critical, compared to a perfect GH3 I lose a bit over 2 seconds, and compared to a perfect SE3, I lose 8 seconds. A perfect SE3 is also incredibly rare, so much so that it took me 7 years to get it once just as an individual level. So I don't expect to see happen anytime soon in a full run.
And those 8 seconds alone are larger than the total of everything else in the whole run. And my final boss luck wasn't even below average here. That dude spinning is the biggest time loss in every damn run, and it's right at the end and there's nothing you can do about it.
But anyway, finally got a run where I didn't choke towards the end with decent luck, new record achieved. I somehow doubt this one will last the full decade.
