- We knew this project would be dangerous but we didn't expect Shelby to be laying right under the limb about to fall. Luckily everyone is ok but we did find another issue with our school bus Skookie conversion.. Thanks for watching and God Bless!

Guys, the new camera has much clearer picture, and the voice is great too. Sorry to see the starting woes on the batteries, but you should check the cables going to the starter. If the new batteries drained quickly, you have a short or light in the wiring, and you would be wise to install a battery cutoff switch. That way the batteries will stay ready to start. You should start the bus at least one time per week, and move the bus, because it saves on seal, and less leaks on the bus running gear.😊
I think it may be a diode in the alternator causing a slow drain. Testing it now
I'm glad you are always learning and trying to figure out what is wrong. As a school bus driver I agree with the battery shut off switch. When we park our bosses we turn off the batteries, and when it is cold, we plug the bus in. Each bus has a warmer that keeps the diesel fuel from gelling, so it will start easily.
That may be where your power drain is-the fuel warmer.

Undo the battery cables at night til you figure out what's wrong Gary. That way the batteries are not being drained.
New camera has better audio than the Go Pro. You'll notice the difference when you watch the vid. New cam brings ambient sounds and voices "closer". I heard the birds like I was outside with 'em! It's really great to watch ya'll gettin it done.
The sound is good but I definitely can hear Cassie’s teaching voice better when she’s a ways away

When you cut a bug limb, you should always first make an undercut on the limb. This prevents a heavy limb from teariing the bark down the side of the tree to the ground when it falls. Which will kill the tree you ate trying to make nice. Luv your fam & your farm.❤

I don’t think anything is wrong you just need to charge the batteries by driving the bus not just letting it run. The battery basically needs to “prime” especially in colder weather conditions. That what I learned from my dad who drove school bus after he retired from pipefitting.

I remember when we bought our log splitter years ago, best tool ever! Be careful though, my husband lost the end of a finger getting hung in the splitter.

The sound and video are great with this camera. I never noticed a problem before but definitely noticed how good this was
UA-cam has been a reliable source for my truck maintenance. It has yet to fail me when I need some repair that I have never done before from replacing struts to fixing a door lock problem seems someone out there has a video on it.

Loving all those volumes of voices Cassie! I’m a loud natural speaker too. Always people saying I’m too loud! Oh well. That’s how I roll. I did homecare for seniors for 20 years. Lots were hard of hearing. I talked louder. Became a habit. Now on my 55 plus building im the one they call on to make announcements. lol. Go figure.
I think this is the best audio set up you'vse used. When Cassie was speaking at a distance, it was easy to hear her in her normal speaking voice. I could hear a little wind but it was muffled and your voices came right through it. Very nice! 👍👍
The Sony has better sound, and it picks up further away. Never noticed how low the go-pro was until today. I just usually adjust my sound. I do have a prayer request. I worked at a manufacturing company and we used and sold commercial Interstate Batteries. We got quite a few batteries that were bad or went bad quickly from Interstate. Interstate was always quick to replace the batteries and our customers were satisfied unless it was during the time they wanted their machines running 23/7, then they were mad because they were losing money.

We have a local Catoosa PD officer who is a single mom to a 13 year old daughter, that was just diagnosed with stage 4 pacreatic cancer, she needs a miracle! They are trying to raise money due to her not being able to work and all the upcoming medical expenses. Please include her in y'alls prayers. You need to actually "DRIVE" the bus to help in keeping batteries charged. Just starting and letting it idle in driveway won't cut it. Drive it once around the neighborhood every couple of days.
My husband can not stand low hanging limbs. He cuts them every year. Winter time not so bad but when the leaves come on they hang even lower. New camera is doing great, I never heard any noise on the old one but it's always good to upgrade every now and then. Husband just got a new CFMoto side by side for his retirement, Cassie would love it although there are still times the 4 wheeler is better.
The new camera has a great sound and picture quality. You'll get the hang of it after practice!
Good job on the tree. The tractor bucket does make a good ladder. Gary is a lot safer in it than having to climb. Hopefully you'll get the battery situation figured out. There should be a button to left of headlight switch to test all lights on the bus I drive a 2017 international like that bus. Also the cold weather like you had really does a number on batteries especially in buses. Conditional diesel in cold weather is 29:48 also pretty essential to starting well in cold weather. Fuel can gel if it's is not conditioned. You should also have a high idle switch to keep battery charged well when idling

Love your videos. Here in north Florida we are also having temps in the 60's all this week. That is a little below normal for us. At 76 yo. I feel the cold more. At least the sun is out, but not providing warmth. Keep up the good work.

It scares me when watching videos in which animals & children are running around while dangerous things are happening around them. Praise the Lord for guiding Cassie to get Shelby to safety in advance!!! ❤️
In case you ever have to do that again, you may want to look for or create a fall protecting harness to attach you to the lift incase you or the hydraulics slip. Give cassie some peace of mind. 😊🙏❤️

Bad diode in the alternator would allow current to drain. Plus 13 volts is not where the alternator should be. It should be more like your pickup, at 14+ volts while running. Got a nice stack of wood to help supply the fire, from those branches. The smaller limbs could be used for kindling, if they are dry enough.

No absolutely not goofy thank you Gary most young men n single women these days know nothing about using their own hands n minds to do for themselves I honestly think this would be a great add-on in your videos for them. I'm fixing to be 54 n was a single Mom n grew up my Dad had a stroke when I was 3 so My Mom had to prodimininatly do everything... Old school I learned mechanics n brother had to learn to cook n sew. Mama always said be prepared to do for yourself n you'll do ok.

Gary & Cassie - I never complained about the audio on other videos - wind noise or not… if you’re outside might be wind noise, deal with it! That being said I can tell a difference with the audio. Cassie is like me, when I’m doing dangerous stuff it’s okay, but I don’t like watching others. You two are having “ too much fun” working together. together. By the way, I always love the morning shots of your vows in the pasture. You have some of the most beautiful cows. Great video … I liked the variety.

My son brand-new truck was doing that and would charge after Christmas he still has a loner!!
This happened in a car of mine one time. Had it tested many times, replaced alternator, regulator, new batteries. Drove it to CA, my brother said take it down the street to his mechanic. It WAS the Ground Wire on the FIREWALLthat was loose. I spent a fortune on it before finding that. Never had another problem with it after that. 🤷🤦🤦
Actually two new alternators and regulators. It died at Needles CA, had it towed to shop and new put on again because they couldn't find it either. Cost me a small fortune. Ughhh

Cassie, the reason it bothered you so much on Gary leaning over is cause you're a mom and that's what we do. We analyze the situation in advance and can see what might happen. Men and boys just jump in with both feet and do stuff and worry about the consequences later. That's why we women live longer than most men! 😂 Just kidding, somewhat!😂😂
