This video is to help a lot of energy consumers who are having a hard time with their prepaid meters to resolve their issues by checking and fixing the most likely cause of the issue(s).
Here we are using the Mojec brand of the energy prepaid meter which mostly communicates using the Power Line Communication (PLC) mechanism. If your prepaid meter fails to pair up with the indoor unit referred to as either the CIU or the UIU.
The most likely reason is usually due to the fact that your CIU cannot successfully communicate with the outdoor prepaid meter due to some data communication problem. The easiest way to fix this is by replacing the cable with a good one.
Also, there are many helpfull codes which were discussed in the video.

I think the newer models do not even have any wire port. The one i just got uses only battery, I've tried everything, i can't even activate the prepaid, its not connecting. Went to their office, they changed some codes for me but the problem still persists. Its Mojec also

My prepaid meter is bringing out failed too after loading. Now my unit has finished over a week now. Am using solar. My ciu is using battery, i changed to new battery everyday still mot working. Used different code still failed

Please I have the exact type of the one you used for the video but each time I plug my ciu, it says failed. It doesn't connect. Even when I type in the code for balance or 100, it keeps saying failed.
The EEDC people are saying I should buy another ciu.

Hello rubylemoha1377, first, make sure you change the cable of your CIU and ensure that it is plugged to a wall socket directly and not to an inverter or ups output. After doing this, try it again and let me know.

Hello @victoriaadetola the credit status only comes up after a successful connection between the outdoor and the indoor unit ( if your UIU or CIU doesn't have batteries in it).
The green led light us the one that indicates that the UIU is paired up with the outdoor unit.

Mine is showing failed, when trying to link up with the (620-meter no--123456) code, when I’m trying to recharge with token or even when trying to upgrade it. I have tried all tricks in this video yet it doesn’t work and this is my first recharge 😢…meter name is Longi meter.

Connect failed usually happens when the communication is broken between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
1. Check that you plugged the UIU cable to a direct socket from the power grid and not to an inverter or ups line.
2. ensure that the cable you are using for your uiu is okay. you may test with a new cable, as the cable breaks the communication between the outdoor and the uiu sometimes.

Te codes work with many of the Mojec prepaid meters. If yours is Mojec, it should work. If it's not Mojec, you can tell us the provider name and we can find out which codes will work with it.

Whats the maximum distance from outdoor to indoor
The max distance only comes in when your CIU uses RF to connect to you meter. For PLC, it rarely matters except there is so much noise on the network. This is because prepaid meter it is used at the last mile which will always be within a reasonable distance.

Failed, at which point? Failed to pair up successfully or failed during recharge?

@@angeledjua130 hello angel. Failure of recharge can be due to your meter not pairing up.
Pls, check if your Mojec meter UIU is beeping green which indicates pairing success
If not, you can change the cable that connects to the UIU and check if it pairs up successfully after which you will be able to load tokens
