I’ve been watching quite a few Dreame reviews before I replace my aging Roomba. Your video has to be one of the best I’ve seen. It is very thorough, and shows the good and the bad. I love the detail! If I’d bought either one of these and hadn’t read the manual, I might have thought the unit was broken when it started cleaning the mops before doing the cleaning. This is why I really like how you provide so much information. Well done!

I watched this to see what to expect from the Roborock I ordered, and I started reading the comments and wondered, how good could this video be? Well, it's awesome - so much better than the others! I just wanted to see how it mopped, but I got so much more!

Much better tone of voice in this video. Not sure if it was just me but past videos sounded a bit like you were whispering or speaking quietly. This one was spot on for tone and volume. I’d still like more investigation into the Deame’s spinner brush not spinning on carpet though. That’s the only thing (and the price) that is holding me back.

What makes me happy is that companies like Dreame or Roborock is out doing Roomba. It’s just a big middle finger to the first or one of the first robot vacuum companies.
Hi! Thanks for the review but still I can’t decide 😂 we now have a Roborock Q8 max+. We have it almost a year and it was already 2 times broken (Lidar error). We were very happy about the job it did but we want look for another bc one time sure but two times in a year?! That made us very mad. Is there one that stick on the top off al off them for you? Which one would you recommend? Thanks for the help in advance!
it's a bit of a bummer that at nearly 2 grand they can't do a better job with the mopping. It's nice to see that the algorithms have gotten better though, and that it has so many capabilities at the dock these days
The Dreame X40 didn’t do as good on carpet in my opinion. It’s sad that these companies market pascals when it should be judged by real world results, AW and CFM. I believe it has a slight advantage with mopping but both are good
I’ve watched every review I can find on these 2 robots, even some foreign language ones with auto-translate-to-English subtitles on and I’m coming to the same conclusion, Dreame X40 a great robot that would probably (in my opinion) be definitely ahead of the s8 MaxV Ultra in the rankings except that it doesn’t seem quite as good on carpets. Most of my home is carpeted so I’m leaning slightly towards the Roborock right now. The Roborock is slightly cheaper too based on the UK prices I’m seeing right now which is nice but isn’t really a factor for me (within reason).
@@julianfp1952 The latest firmware update hasn’t been reviewed makes it soooo much better obstacle avoidance. Very impressed with it now. But I’d also say if you have mainly carpets (and don’t need mopping) the Dyson 360 Vis Nav vacuums by far the best. The obstacle avoidance is much better with the latest firmware version that came out this month as well. But it’s such a good vacuum. Downsides besides no mop is it uses a camera to navigate which is not as fast as lidar but it’s really good but low battery life. Apprx 60 min on auto vs the Roborock which can easily do my house and then some. Just food for thought.

its set to 1 pass. I have an older gen set to 2x passes and it cleans it up completely

Dreame or Roborock? Both are $1100 this Black Friday. Been using Roborock for years but always looking for something better for long and dog hair.
Clearly the dreame left a lot behind on the carpet but the mopping was great
